[00:09] Hey, Carpool Crew, happy Friday. I hope you have an incredible weekend ahead. Before we jump in, I just want to give a big shout out to Kelsey out in North Bend, Nebraska, and a big happy birthday to Grayson and Cohen in Wiggins, Mississippi. And Kelsey, Grayson, Cohen, I hope you jump in and help at home with a great attitude, because even small things like chores matter to God. And guess what? That's exactly what we're talking about today. All right, here's the one big thing I want you to remember. Helping at home honors God. Our verse today comes from Colossians chapter 3 verse 23. It says, whatever you do, do it from the heart as something done for the Lord and not for people. Now, let's be honest, helping at home doesn't always feel exciting. Cleaning your room, doing dishes, mopping the floor, cleaning a toilet, helping your siblings. Yeah, they aren't usually the favorite parts of the day. But this verse from Paul flips the way we think about it completely. It says, you're not helping your parents actually. You're not helping your siblings. You're not helping your home. You're serving God. If Jesus were sitting right next to you, I think he'd say, hey friend, when you help at home with a good attitude, you're showing love, not just to your family, but to me. You know, I want you to think about this. Two kids are asked to clean up. One says, okay, and gets to work. The other says, do I have to? And they drag their feet the whole time. Both cleaned, but only one did it with a joyful heart. Only one was doing it like they were serving God. And here's the thing, God sees the difference. Not just what you do, but how you do it. Here's a story that'll help get the point across. There was a girl named Kelsey. Yeah, let's go with Kelsey. And she was asked to help her little brother clean up his toys. She didn't want to. She had her own stuff to do, but she remembered this verse. So instead of complaining, she helped him and even made a game out of it. Afterwards, her mom said, thank you. It meant a lot. But more importantly, it honored God. So what could this look like for you today? First, do chores gladly. Don't wait to be asked over and over. Second, help your siblings, even when it's not your mess. And third, work hard. Give your best effort, not your minimum effort. Work like you're working for God, because you are. Let's go back to our one big thing to remember. Helping at home honors God. Remember, no matter where you are or how you're listening, God loves you. And parents, if you've been enjoying this podcast, consider subscribing. This weekend, we're going to be talking about choosing good influences and being trustworthy.
