[00:00] Hello, I'm Oakland Deadpod for the week of April 24th, 2026. This is the Professor, so glad to pick us up this week. This week, we play the second set from the band's performance at the UIC Pavilion, University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois. Took place on April 11th, 1987. It was a Saturday night. Amazingly, they didn't do one more Saturday night. However, they did open with Touch of Grey, a song which would soon be released on. In the Dark, which hadn't been yet, but they play a nice, tight version of that. Goes into Man Smart, Woman Smarter. Very funky version, I think. The crowd must have been on their feet. Brent and Jerry have some excellent interplay here. That goes into a fine version of Terrapin Station. Goes on about 11 minutes and 30 seconds. They get out there on this one. I think it's nice to hear. It goes into Drums and Space. Garcia is particularly psychedelic on space. I think you'll enjoy the place that the band goes there. It's really interesting. That goes into a nice hot version of Truckin. Jerry slows things down with a wharf rat in the ballad slot. That goes into Throwing Stones and then Not Fade Away. The crowd is by this point so taken with the Not Fade Away with the whole performance that the chant continues right back until they get back up for the encore where Jerry performs a really nice version of Black Muddy River. Hope you enjoy this one. Thanks so much for picking us up this week and for your support of The Deadpod. I couldn't do it without you and I really appreciate it. Hope you're doing well and I hope you will listen next week. Thanks so much. This is a professor you're listening to, The Deadpod. See you all later, thank you all, good night.
