[01:39] That's right, we'll let it happen. Alex is here. On the ones and twos, Alex Khan. Little Graceland starting things off, Paul Simon on a Thursday. Coming at you live, WBAB 102.3 Long Islanders Classic, rock and roll. Got a couple of tickets coming up to Striper. A couple of Striper tickets at top of the hour. Gonna be playing out in Adventureland out there in Farmingdale. We got a couple of tickets to go see Striper. Coming up top of the hour. JBB will win a 2.3 chart. It begins at home. Paul Simon. Yes. All right. Thursday, Alex. So much to talk about. The best in the business, Alex Khan. That's why it sounds so good right now. I was thinking to myself, how do they get it to sound so good week after week, episode after episode? It's Alex Khan. Thank you. Yeah. OK, we got a classic cover to cover episode coming at you today on Thursday. We are covering the things that put us on the map. Why are we the 147th most popular comedy podcast in the world? 127th a couple of days ago. You know, you drop after you release your Tuesday episode. By Wednesday, you're down. But at one point, 127th most popular comedy podcast in the world, according to whatever bullshit I look at. And that's the reason why is because we give these people classic comedy bits that they've come to respect and love. And that's what we're going to do today. For many of you. But before we do that, we like to, of course, give you the top of the news, things that are going on in the world. And there's been a couple of things going on with with Jelly Roll. Ah, yeah. You know, I love we all love America loves Jelly Roll. He's he's a country singer. Yeah. And he I believe at one time was rap. Rapper. It's amazing to me how quickly the country community accepts the rapper. Yeah. Or how quickly the rapper community accepts the country like now, because I think it's they're out there. Post Malone and Jelly Roll are doing a thing together. Big tour of, you know, hey, you like this song? How about this song? How about this one? This one's about cold beer. What's this one about? Colder beer. What's this one about? That's about the beer. It started out warm, but throughout the song gets cold. By the time the song is going to be cold beer. What else? My toes are in the sand?
Speaker 5:
[04:29] F-150s?
Speaker 4:
[04:30] Yeah. You name it. A truck. And you guys know the jokes. Everybody does them. Anyway, Jolly Roll's having some issues with his weight loss journey. Oh, no. He's on a weight loss journey. He's lost quite a few pounds. I can see him out there. He's much thinner than he used to be. And, you know, we've all gone along for the journey. Yeah. Everybody, you know, he's running and you see this guy. I don't know. I don't know. You know, I'm supposed to like Jolly Roll, right? That's what America tells me. Yeah. I know many of you guys do. I'm not telling you who to like and who not to like. But yeah, so as you may have heard, if you guys are following anything about the world news today, you know that Jolly Roll is scared. He's scared and he detailed some of the major setbacks in his weight loss journey. He's lost his way. Yeah. He's been full of ups and downs and he's sharing it all with his fans. The Need a Favor singer. Is that his new song, I Need a Favor? Yeah. Okay. He noted in a recent YouTube blog that he experienced a major setback in recent months. He was afraid to step back on the scale.
Speaker 5:
[05:35] Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[05:36] Admitting I have to some degree lost my way, reflecting on starting his health journey a few years ago from when he was 540 pounds to now he's 265. I mean, that is pretty impressive regardless of his music. We hit the goal and it was right before the holidays, and Jelly World said in a recent YouTube vlog, oh, there he is on his scale. I gotta see his toes. He took a picture of himself on the scale and he was looking at his feet. I don't know if I need to see any of that business. Anyway, the interesting thing is that he broke his collarbone resulting in him not being able to run, walk or exercise for an extended period of time, and he put 12 pounds back on. Yeah, so that's that's not... I'm reading here, he broke his collarbone, he flipped an ATV.
Speaker 5:
[06:21] Oh, which is the most white trash way to break a collarbone.
Speaker 4:
[06:24] That's how you do it. You flip an ATV and that's perfect. That's that could be a new song for him. I flipped the ATV. I don't go right to the top of the charts. I want to be dancing to that one at the front of front front of the VIP section of what is it called? Stagecoach. Stagecoach. Yeah, he might come out for his, you know, pop in. Uh-huh. Won't he pop in there? He'll pop in. Yeah, absolutely. Why not? He'll get on in there. So there you go. That's some big news right away that we give you guys. What else? I didn't know he was over 500.
Speaker 5:
[06:56] That's a number.
Speaker 4:
[06:57] That is a number. That's a big old number. That's a lot. So good for him. 546. The Peter Hook from the Joy Division. The Joy Division and New Order, for those of you who don't know, just got into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Whether you agree or disagree, that's not for me to say. But Peter Hook, who was in Joy Division, says he will not be on stage with his fellow bandmates. He says he's going to go, but he will not stand next to his bandmates at the Hall of Fame ceremony, not after what they did to him. I feel like that's going to be an odd. This is always what happens with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They get these bands back who had some success many, many years ago, and for whatever reason, they don't get along anymore, and they put them on stage together. A lot of them still play together sometimes, but after they get the induction, they say their piece, and then they go and play together. Most of them don't anymore. They usually have a band will play some of their hits, cover them, and you maybe get like a smashing pumpkin, so cover some new water songs, but this guy says he's not even going to stand next to him. So we'll see how that goes. That's always fun to watch. And somebody from the Storage Wars died.
Speaker 1:
[08:06] Oh no.
Speaker 4:
[08:07] Yeah, Daryl Sheets was.
Speaker 1:
[08:08] Oh, Daryl Sheets?
Speaker 4:
[08:09] Yeah, police investigating claims storage war. Daryl Sheets was tormented by a cyber bully before his death. Oh, that's interesting.
Speaker 1:
[08:17] Wow.
Speaker 4:
[08:18] Yeah, so there could be a Laguna Beach reunion.
Speaker 1:
[08:23] OK.
Speaker 6:
[08:24] What the am I talking about?
Speaker 4:
[08:26] No, but I think there was one already, and this guy didn't calmer, did calmer. OK. You know, this is in the this is the who gives you shit news.
Speaker 6:
[08:33] We're doing over here.
Speaker 4:
[08:35] Wild cherry and cream is a new Pepsi flavor. I'm literally just scrolling down and reading you Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Orange County spin off with Bobby Altoff. But they say it's not happening. Yeah. Bobby Altoff. Oh, I don't understand. I don't get it. I don't get it. It was a big giant podcast a couple of years ago because she just was like, I guess she's an adult, but she looks young. So there was that. And then she would like talk in a very monotone voice to celebrities and pretend like she didn't know who they were. Like Drake would come on. She goes, do I know you? And people would go nuts for this. Yeah. The same people who listen to Jelly Roll. You get the idea. I don't need to tell you people how to live. Anyway, enough about all that. And then of course, some other, I won't go into those stories. I don't want to deal with that. I don't want to deal with that. I'm not dealing with that. No, we're not. What about this Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian? They got handsy together, Alex, on a beach. They packed on the PDA. Oh, there they are. Look at them. Okay, she's out there surfing. Now, these are obviously hired. She hired the paparazzi to come and shoot perfectly clear photos of her surfing. And he's got his hand on her ass, and okay. Yeah. So they're a full on relationship now, right? Yeah. Boy, she just rattles right through them. I mean, nothing wrong with her. Go out and enjoy your life. But I feel like just there's got to be just a couple of months where you go, I'm just not going to take a break here for a minute.
Speaker 5:
[10:06] Those girls just they leave a string of them in their wake.
Speaker 4:
[10:10] I guess. I mean, it's part of the fun of it. You know, I mean, just like let's just get another guy in the in the chamber here so we could take pictures of it and stay in the headlines. And I get how it works. It's fun. Yeah. Pete Davidson. I feel like I read a lot of stories about Pete Davidson's tattoo journey. You know, whether they're on, they're off. I don't I mean, there's not a person on the planet I can give a fuck less about than Pete Davidson. And nothing against I, you know, he seems he's probably a nice man. Yeah. That's what I've heard from like other comedian friends like he's a fine guy. Sure. I'm sure he probably is. But I don't I don't care. But I keep reading about his tattoos for are coming off. They're I think they're not coming off. It was painful to get some of them off. So he's on a bit of a tattoo journey. You know what I've learned in the last couple of days, Alex? I've learned that Jelly Roll is having a problem with his weight loss journey. I never read Moby Dick. But I know that Pete Davidson is having issues with his tattoo removal journey. And Jelly Roll is having problems with his weight loss journey. Yeah. Elizabeth Smart. Just when you think the world can't get any crazier, you think to yourself, anything crazier going on in the world? How about this? Elizabeth Smart. You remember she was a Mormon girl who was abducted from her home. And then they found her about a year later. You know, she was being, she was abducted by some crazy, weird religious fanatic or something. And he, you know, had her out on the, it was a wild story, you guys all remember. And it was years ago. And now she's, of course, living a normal life, or at least as normal as it can be. And she's got a family and she's married. And I think she's back in Utah again. But now she's a like a professional bodybuilder. Yeah. And I've seen pictures and it's like, wow, Elizabeth Smart wins a first place in a bodybuilding competition after revealing her shocking physique. And I got to say, you know what? Good for you. Yeah. I mean, it's got to be whatever you went through is got to be awful and the held. Because she was like living in the woods and stuff. And, you know, things like outside of everything else. That was probably awful. And then she just seemed to have turned it around. And now she's out there weightlifting. And she won first place in a bodybuilding competition. Wow. Where was that competition held? They usually held it in Cedar City, Utah. Yeah, they had like a Sheridan, you know, one of the convention rooms at the Sheridan. Yeah.
Speaker 5:
[12:39] I'm trying to find her name. I can't remember her. But one of the girls from us, I don't know if she was actually from the show Escaping Polygamy. I think she was one of the sisters.
Speaker 2:
[12:48] She also got into bodybuilding.
Speaker 4:
[12:50] Oh, okay. It's a good way to take out your aggression or whatever you have from. And so I'm all for it. Good for them. She looks good. And I hope that she continues on with her journey. Oh, yeah. Everybody's wrong on a journey. I'm on a journey to get this episode over with. OK, we found some fun stuff that I want to talk about. I found a new a new person online that I would really like to get into. Now, I, we, it's been a long time since we've we've done any type of return to one of our favorite things, which was kind of, I guess, televangelist, what they used to be called. And we had a guy a couple of years ago by the name of what was his name? Kenneth Copeland. Kenneth Copeland. Yeah, the Kenneth Copeland. He's down there in Fort Worth, Texas. And he's the man who you might remember. Somebody was questioning him about his private jet. And he said that he bought it from Tyler Perry. It's one of the greatest videos you'll see on YouTube. This woman stops him, I think she's from Current Affair or something, before he gets in his car. And she asks him why he needs a private jet. And he goes into his fake evangelist talk. I love it, I love it, I love it, because that was given to me by Mr. Tyler Perry, who was nice enough to sell me that. And then the woman goes, why? And he goes, I'm telling you why. And he gets a real demonic face on. And he says, I don't want to be flying on a regular plane. It's a tube of demons, a regular plane. You gotta have a private jet, because you don't want to be with the demons on a Delta flight. I would be considered one of the demons sitting in a Delta flight. But I know what he's talking about. He's not talking about me up there. You know, with the lay down seat. No. Okay, not in Delta 1. I'm not a demon. He's talking about the coach demons. And I'm back there sometimes, too. Let it be known that I'm up sometimes among the demons. I'm not happy about it either. I'm with this guy. Yeah. It's the first time I've agreed with a tele-evangelist in my life. I would love, I'd get to get off that tube of demons, too. But anyway, we've since been looking for some other... He blew away COVID. You remember another thing that Kenneth Copeland did? I commend you. Yeah, he blew it away. He said, boy, it's gone. So we did have some fun Kenneth Copeland clips. And I keep every now and again, I'll go back to his website and I'll look if I could find anything fun again from Kenneth Copeland. And it's hard to find some clips because some of it is just him doing his services and I'm not getting any great stuff and I don't want to watch for three hours.
Speaker 5:
[15:31] I think they're laying low right now.
Speaker 4:
[15:33] Okay.
Speaker 5:
[15:33] There's a couple of kind of documentarians who are sticking it to Rich Pastors.
Speaker 4:
[15:39] Oh, is that right? Yeah. Well, you remember when we first started looking into it, we found a thing called Preachers and Sneakers.
Speaker 5:
[15:47] Yes. Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[15:47] And I think it was on Instagram or something where they just show all these preachers wearing $1,000 sneakers and they show the outfits they're wearing. Nothing wrong. Everybody enjoy your lives, make a buck. That's fine. If people are going to give it to you, take it. But we found a new one. We found a new one and I think that this is my new favorite. I'm not making fun, so anybody who is into this sort of thing, once again, as I say with Jelly Roll and everything else, go and enjoy your lives. But I'm here to report. That's what we do over here on Cover to Cover. We report on things. So I'm here to report on this. Is that what they call? I read that she was a girl boss preacher.
Speaker 5:
[16:26] Pastor, I think.
Speaker 4:
[16:27] Pastor. Okay. Whatever it is.
Speaker 5:
[16:28] She's a junior sister pastor, girl boss pastor, Kim Jones of Limitless Church.
Speaker 4:
[16:32] She's, Kim Jones is her name, and she's got a pretty big following on Instagram.
Speaker 1:
[16:36] Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[16:37] Now, and this is, I want you guys all to prepare yourself because I think that this is going to get you people, if you're feeling down today, and my opening bit did not get you guys going, we're about to get you guys going. Yeah. Okay, first of all, I'd like to hear, I'd like you to hear what she does over on her Instagram. Now, what does she call herself on Instagram?
Speaker 1:
[16:58] She calls herself RealtalkKim.
Speaker 4:
[17:00] Okay, this is RealtalkKim, and her full name is what? Kim?
Speaker 1:
[17:04] Kim Jones.
Speaker 4:
[17:06] Kim Jones, Kim Jones, and she's getting a bit of a following right now, Kim Jones, and I couldn't stop going through her Instagram last night when I found her, because it's wild, it's wild, it's wild.
Speaker 1:
[17:21] Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[17:21] But I look at things sometimes through a lens that maybe most people don't. Some people love this kind of stuff, that's why she has so many followers. But here's Kim Jones, what she does pretty much every morning on her Instagram. She'll wake up and give you guys a positive message, and this is one of them. So, enjoy.
Speaker 1:
[17:37] Good morning.
Speaker 4:
[17:38] Oh, good morning.
Speaker 1:
[17:40] Good morning, gorgeous.
Speaker 2:
[17:43] What's up?
Speaker 4:
[17:44] Oh, oh, hi Kim.
Speaker 1:
[17:46] Hello, beautiful people. Hi. I do try to keep it calm on Mondays, because I know, I know, I know, I know.
Speaker 4:
[17:53] Uh-huh.
Speaker 1:
[17:55] Good morning.
Speaker 4:
[17:56] Good, good morning once again.
Speaker 1:
[17:57] Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[17:58] Oh, hi.
Speaker 1:
[17:59] What's going on, gorgeous people?
Speaker 4:
[18:01] Nothing. Just about to do the podcast over here. How about you? What are you doing?
Speaker 1:
[18:06] How did y'all sleep?
Speaker 4:
[18:07] Not okay, actually. Not bad.
Speaker 1:
[18:10] So good.
Speaker 4:
[18:11] I was up about 530 in the morning, but.
Speaker 1:
[18:14] I slept like a baby.
Speaker 6:
[18:15] You did?
Speaker 4:
[18:16] Okay. I was wondering.
Speaker 1:
[18:17] Good morning.
Speaker 6:
[18:18] Once again, good morning.
Speaker 1:
[18:20] Don't forget that we're headed to.
Speaker 4:
[18:22] Where?
Speaker 1:
[18:22] Mesa, Arizona.
Speaker 3:
[18:23] Oh, I've heard that.
Speaker 1:
[18:24] Hi, TikTok.
Speaker 4:
[18:26] What is she doing?
Speaker 1:
[18:27] Hi, TikTok. Hello, Instagram. Hello, Facebook.
Speaker 4:
[18:30] Hello. Hello. Have you, hi, Kim, have you heard about this jelly roll? He doesn't want to get on a scale. Did you hear that? What about Pete Davidson and his tattoos? Are you reading the same things I'm reading?
Speaker 1:
[18:45] Yo, I am serious.
Speaker 4:
[18:46] Are you?
Speaker 1:
[18:47] So when me and Angelo got married, y'all know we'll be married two years.
Speaker 4:
[18:51] Who?
Speaker 1:
[18:51] Angelo.
Speaker 4:
[18:52] Her and Angelo?
Speaker 1:
[18:53] And two years. When we got married, Angelo has a system.
Speaker 4:
[18:58] Oh, what is a system?
Speaker 1:
[18:58] So he likes to stay up and watch sports, that kind of stuff.
Speaker 4:
[19:03] Angelo's a real man.
Speaker 1:
[19:04] And so he'd come to bed at like two o'clock in the morning.
Speaker 4:
[19:07] Oh, and he would be- And it just sounds like Angelo's up to no good.
Speaker 1:
[19:09] And he would be scrunching up chips and all this kind of stuff, and it would wake me up, and I couldn't go back to sleep.
Speaker 4:
[19:15] So this goes on for an hour and a half. We're gonna play the full hour and a half, Alex.
Speaker 1:
[19:20] We're reading the Bible here.
Speaker 4:
[19:21] Yeah, that's what we're waiting for. No, no, no, we don't need any of that. I was just having a phone. Anyway, so that's her in the morning. That is Kim Jones in the morning, and every morning she'll give you that. You know, it's nice, it's a nice way to wake up. She'll tell you about her husband, and she goes to bed late, and he goes to bed a little later, and then he comes into the bed, and maybe wakes her up, and then she gets up, and you know, it's fun. It's a fun way, and there are people who follow this, and it's great. Now, I'd like you to hear Ms. Kim Jones doing one of her services, okay? And this is for all the ladies out there. So if you're, and get ready for the weekend. This is Kim Jones getting you guys ready for the weekend. All you girl bosses out there.
Speaker 1:
[20:03] Yeah, all the girl bosses.
Speaker 4:
[20:04] Enough is enough. Get, get.
Speaker 6:
[20:15] Yes, yes, yes. Thank you, Kim.
Speaker 4:
[20:18] Thank you, Kim.
Speaker 1:
[20:26] From surviving to commanding.
Speaker 6:
[20:29] Yes.
Speaker 1:
[20:29] You don't run with wolves. You command the pack. This is where identity locks in. God didn't call you to survive environments. He called you to shift them. Yes. I ain't going where I'm celebrated. What? I'm tolerated. I'm going where I'm celebrated.
Speaker 4:
[20:48] Oh.
Speaker 1:
[20:48] I'm going where I'm celebrated. And if they don't celebrate me and they don't invite me at their table, I'm going to build my own.
Speaker 4:
[20:54] Build it.
Speaker 1:
[20:54] And then I'm going to tell everybody I can to sit at my table.
Speaker 4:
[20:57] I'll come there. I'll sit at that table.
Speaker 1:
[21:00] So this is where identity locks in. God didn't call you to survive. He called you to shift.
Speaker 5:
[21:06] Yes.
Speaker 4:
[21:07] Yes, sister.
Speaker 1:
[21:08] I'm not intimidated by what I walk through.
Speaker 5:
[21:12] Okay.
Speaker 1:
[21:12] I was anointed for it. Yes.
Speaker 3:
[21:14] I am not afraid.
Speaker 6:
[21:16] I am not overlooked.
Speaker 1:
[21:18] I am not disqualified.
Speaker 4:
[21:20] Thank you, Alex.
Speaker 1:
[21:22] I am anointed. All right.
Speaker 4:
[21:23] Thank you so much, Kim.
Speaker 1:
[21:25] Kim's excited.
Speaker 4:
[21:25] I'm sorry. So that was Kim. She's a white lady, by the way.
Speaker 1:
[21:29] We want you to know that.
Speaker 4:
[21:31] I don't know if you, when she starts going there, like, how is she not getting in trouble? I do one impression and everybody's gonna send me to jail. This lady's up there. I mean, that's a full on, that's a, I mean, remember the girl who got in trouble for it, that actress that we, what was her name? Aquafina? Aquafina got in trouble. She's career's over. She did one black girl voice, and she's an Asian. She did black girl voice, done. This woman's up there, ha, you're gonna sit at my table. You're gonna sit next to me at the table. And everybody, I guess she's got, you know, 200,000 followers, and people are going wild for it. Yeah. But there you go, everybody. That's powerful. How does everybody feel after that?
Speaker 5:
[22:17] I feel like a girl boss.
Speaker 4:
[22:19] Okay, so do I.
Speaker 5:
[22:20] I feel like a boss ass bitch.
Speaker 4:
[22:22] Anyway, we thought it would be fun to look into that. And then, of course, as I said, we were gonna give you guys a classic episode of Cover to Cover, and one of the most classic things that we do over here on Cover to Cover is we, from time to time, go over and visit the Vermont Country Store. It is, I think, in a way, tied in to what we just heard from Kim Jones, because early, first, Kim Jones, the morning Kim Jones, not crazy, come to my table. I'm not broken. I'm fixed. Not that Kim Jones, not that one screaming at you. Kim Jones who goes, Good morning. Good morning. Hey, good morning.
Speaker 6:
[23:02] It's me. Hi. You know who came to bed late last night?
Speaker 4:
[23:06] My husband.
Speaker 6:
[23:07] We met six months ago.
Speaker 4:
[23:10] And he came in, he had chips all over him.
Speaker 6:
[23:13] He was doing them.
Speaker 1:
[23:14] Good morning.
Speaker 6:
[23:15] Hello, TikTok.
Speaker 4:
[23:17] That lady. That lady. Yeah, thank you. Oh, that hurt.
Speaker 5:
[23:22] Oh, that was like a rude gal. That's the rude gal.
Speaker 4:
[23:25] Anyway, enough about all that. We're over at the Vermont Country Store. And a lot of times, you guys know, we like to look at the new items that are available at the Vermont Country Store. It's a lot of spring stuff. Mother's Day, spring, light flowing outfits, things of that nature.
Speaker 1:
[23:42] Lavender, soft yellow.
Speaker 4:
[23:44] Exactly, Alex. And even some different scents, some different fragrances, different candies, clothes. Oh, yeah. And as you know, we like to go check out a lot of the reviews. So this is some couple of things that we want to talk about. Okay, the first thing we're going to discuss is the Women's Spring Step Slip-On Leather Loafer. Okay, Alex, it's really nice. Comes in a bunch of different sizes. It's a slip-on loafer to prove that supportive shoes can be comfortable and stylish too. All right, on your feet all day. This is the overview. Be kind to your feet with this leather loafer crafted with both foot health and style in mind. The slip-on design makes it easy to put on and take off these shoes. Well, the round toe box provides your toes with the necessary space they needed. Contributing to better balance, stronger feet, and improved movement. Elastic, goring at the sides and the hook and the loop adjustable strap ensure personal... Am I making fun of this, Lainey? Now look at me babbling about this shoe. Ensure to personalize comfortable fit. It's easy slip-on. It's a round box toe. You know what's happening in a second, Alex. You know what's coming. I know.
Speaker 5:
[24:54] I'm taking in the details.
Speaker 4:
[24:55] That's why I'm giving you the details.
Speaker 5:
[24:57] I heard leather.
Speaker 4:
[24:57] You heard 100% leather. Upper 100% leather, upper lining and insole, soft textile, outsole, 100% polyurethane. It's imported.
Speaker 5:
[25:06] Okay.
Speaker 4:
[25:07] It's imported. That's important to know. Anyway, it comes in a lot of fun colors, and it's the most god-awful thing you've ever seen.
Speaker 5:
[25:19] Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[25:19] Okay, if you put this on, I'm just gonna tell you, unless you're 82 years old, if you put this shoe on, people will know you're done.
Speaker 5:
[25:27] Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[25:28] You might as well just give up and say, I'm done with just any type of social behavior. I'm not sitting at Kim Jones' table. I'm not doing anything anymore. But your feet, there's plenty of room for your toes. Okay, so we are now gonna ask Alex Kahn, who's really good at this, he's gotten better with time, and especially from my country store numbers, he knows the prices. I've given you the statistics here of the, once again, it's a Women's Spring Step Slip-On Leather Loaf. And once again, as you guys all know, feel free to play along at home. What is the price?
Speaker 5:
[26:04] So we got a Slip-On Leather Loaf for coming in multiple colors.
Speaker 4:
[26:07] It's comfortable and- Imported.
Speaker 5:
[26:08] Imported, wide toe box.
Speaker 4:
[26:10] Plenty of room for your toes in the toe box, yes.
Speaker 5:
[26:12] I love a wide toe box.
Speaker 4:
[26:14] What are we looking at? Free shipping, by the way.
Speaker 1:
[26:16] Free shipping.
Speaker 5:
[26:18] It's a premium leather?
Speaker 4:
[26:20] Yeah, that's what it says, you know? And a polyurethane sole.
Speaker 5:
[26:24] OK, out of 10, give me a looks out of 10. Is this like a is it actually a nice look?
Speaker 4:
[26:28] I could give you the look.
Speaker 1:
[26:29] Let me see it.
Speaker 4:
[26:30] There you go.
Speaker 3:
[26:30] OK, I'm going to say.
Speaker 1:
[26:35] Oh, I want to say I'm going to say sixty five.
Speaker 4:
[26:38] I mean, you're you're not you're not wrong, but you're a little off. You're a little low. And also you have to you have to remember that this is my country store. They're a little pricey over there.
Speaker 1:
[26:50] Oh, OK.
Speaker 4:
[26:50] OK, so you're not you're in the ballpark. But you're a little low. It might be sixty five in a couple of months when it's on a clearance rack. Yeah. But right now it's one hundred dollars. Wow. I mean, it's a decent looking shoe. I mean, that's a yeah. And this might have I probably should have read these first because you probably maybe could have made your more educated guess if you would have heard some of the reviews. OK. And there are nine of them. Some of them, Kathy, Kathy did not like them at all. She says they run very small. She had to return the product. So, but Doug Dale, Doug Dale, that's what the name is. It's a woman shoe, but Doug Dale, who knows, we're not gonna, I'm not judging anybody these days. He's returning it to the bad sizing. He feels the same way. He ordered the normal size. He has a narrow foot. I'm assuming Doug is a man, but I could be wrong. Could be. But these were so tight, even in my thin dress socks. I like the look of them, but I had to return them. Doug's walking around all cramped up feet on him, but he liked the look. I look good, but my feet are aching. So he begrudgingly returned them. But in the interest of good faith, there are some very good reviews as well. And Elizabeth Rose bought them, and she's easy to get into. She likes the shoes. They're very lightweight and comfortable, and they're good for our arthritic feet. I would imagine everybody who's stepping into these probably has arthritic feet. The sides have a good stretch, make the shoes easy to get into. She likes the shoes. They're substantial. They're a winter weight, she says, which is interesting, because they're releasing them around springtime. But Elizabeth says, fuck it. I'm wearing them into the winter as well. She likes buying things from Vermont Country Store. She's confident in their quality, and if there's a problem, it gets fixed pretty quickly. Vermont Country Store is human in a way that's hard to find anymore. This is really nice. She's not only reviewing the shoe, she's reviewing the Vermont Country Store. They're human beings, and that's hard to find these days. This one's interesting, because I find it, Judy, I feel like Judy, we've read her reviews of different things before. I feel like Judy gets a lot from there, or at least someone named Judy. She bought these knowing that the Vermont Country Store would not disappoint her, and they didn't. She loves the shoes. They're comfortable and they're nice. And then CD78 said they're uncomfortable. So you never know. It's one of those things where, yeah.
Speaker 5:
[29:28] We all need different widths, you know.
Speaker 4:
[29:30] Claudia B says she has uncooperative feet. Oh, I never heard of such a thing. Yeah. So she says they're adorable design and reasonable support, but she's got with her uncooperative feet, it didn't work all the time for her. But Cindy liked them. Cindy thought they were cute and comfortable. Yeah. And so did Pat. Yeah. Anyway, so there you go, Alex. That was pretty good, right? There's other stuff going on at the Vermont Country Store. And of course, it wouldn't be the Cover to Cover Podcast if we didn't cover something in the world of peanuts over Vermont Country Store. You know, they'd have a tie in with the peanuts, Charles Schultz characters, Charlie Brown, Snoopy and all the fun friends. Lucy, Peppermint Patty. Linus. Who's your favorite? Linus. That's Alex's favorite. Linus.
Speaker 5:
[30:15] Woodstock.
Speaker 4:
[30:16] Yeah, Woodstock. Thank you, Alex.
Speaker 5:
[30:18] Who's the little one that plays piano?
Speaker 4:
[30:20] That's Schneider.
Speaker 3:
[30:21] Schneider?
Speaker 4:
[30:22] Schneider, maybe?
Speaker 3:
[30:23] Schneider.
Speaker 4:
[30:24] Maybe. That sounds familiar, but maybe not. Maybe Schneider's the guy who used to come in to One Day at a Time. He was the handyman on One Day at a Time. Not the same, I don't know if he played piano. Anyway, Peanuts Spring and Bloom Indoor Outdoor Rug and Door Mat. This is brand new. It's just been released for Spring. Welcome Spring to your doorstep with this mat featuring your best friends, Snoopy and Woodstock. And Alice, you know it's coming again, right? The sight of Snoopy gently hugging Woodstocks surrounded by fresh spring flowers will warm your heart every time. You see this all weather mat ideal for covered doorways, entryways and high traffic areas. I would imagine if you have this at your doorway, there's probably not a lot of high traffic. You probably don't have friends coming over. I think the traffic's pretty low, but I could be wrong. Durable Recycle Polyester mimics the look and feel of jute.
Speaker 6:
[31:13] What the hell is that? It's not jute.
Speaker 4:
[31:14] Resist fading? I don't know what jute is.
Speaker 6:
[31:16] You don't know jute?
Speaker 4:
[31:17] I guess I don't.
Speaker 6:
[31:17] Me neither, but I'll look it up.
Speaker 4:
[31:19] I think my wife's a jute, isn't she? No?
Speaker 6:
[31:21] Is that?
Speaker 4:
[31:21] Resist fading, shedding, rotting and staining, designed for indoor and outdoor use to extend the life of the prints used in covered air. Non-slip rubber backing. It's two foot by three foot, Alex. It's made of recycled polyester and vacuum sweeper, spot clean, however you choose. Made in the USA, which we love. Yep. And exclusive to the Vermont Country Store. I can't get this anywhere else. Don't even try it. It's pretty nice. What do you think of something like that? Now it's just a mat that goes in front of your door. I want you to know, it's pricey. Yeah. And it's a mat that goes in front of your door. Two feet by three feet.
Speaker 5:
[31:51] You pay more for peanuts.
Speaker 4:
[31:53] Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 5:
[31:54] You got to pay for the license thing.
Speaker 4:
[31:55] It's exclusive to the Vermont Country Store.
Speaker 1:
[31:57] $79.99.
Speaker 4:
[31:59] Wow. Wow, Alex, you're $10 off. $69.99. That was pretty good, though. Very nice job.
Speaker 5:
[32:06] I have to get acclimated. Every season, I got to get reacclimated.
Speaker 4:
[32:12] Cute, cute. This woman's name is cute. And she said it was cute. Oh, yeah. Just love the doormats. I bought them. They're so cute. They're funny, she said. It's funny. I would like this woman to come to my show at the Governor's, May 1st and 2nd. If she thinks this is funny, wait till she sees me. If she thinks the Snoopy doormat is funny, oh, come to see me at the New York Comedy Club, Stanford, Connecticut, April 30th, Thursday night. You're in for a treat. They're so soft and people could walk on them. Well, no shit, that's what it's for. Anyway, I wish you'd told me.
Speaker 5:
[32:48] They dry my shoes every time.
Speaker 4:
[32:51] Michelle T loved it. Loves, loves, loves, loves, I'm sure to five times, loves Snoopy. Oh, love them.
Speaker 5:
[32:57] Love them.
Speaker 4:
[32:58] I love Snoopy. I'm an adult, but I love Snoopy. I was excited when I saw the springtime door mat. I have, I already have a patriotic mat with Snoopy on it, but I said, I need another one. I have four Snoopy door mats, she said, and I couldn't be happier about all of them. Oh, wow. This psychopath has four different Snoopy door mats, and she changes them throughout the year. But she says this springtime one is really added to her collection. This is my favorite one, because it starts out as a Snoopy door mat review, and then it goes a whole other direction, and you're about to hear what happens here. I can't even follow what's going on. Her name is Thao, Thao.
Speaker 1:
[33:39] Thao.
Speaker 4:
[33:40] I think, T-H-A-O, how would you pronounce that? Thao.
Speaker 1:
[33:44] Thao.
Speaker 4:
[33:44] Sure. Anyway, she says it's adorable. And it is.
Speaker 1:
[33:49] Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[33:50] She didn't think it was as funny as the first lady thought, but she found it adorable. Honestly, it's so cute. It looks just like the pictures. Now, I'm going over to post my honest view about the Mars of Pan Candy.
Speaker 1:
[34:04] Okay.
Speaker 4:
[34:06] So she was reviewing. She's reviewing several things today.
Speaker 1:
[34:10] Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[34:10] First one, pretty cute doormat. I love Snoopy. Thank you for doing it. I'm about to head over. If the Orton's are reading this and they're getting high on their fucking hog, oh no, we killed it with this doormat. Everybody loves it. Wait till you get over and see what I wrote about the Mars of Pan Candy. It's complete shit. So I hope you're ready. Prepare yourself a cabot for what you're about to read about the fucking candy because.
Speaker 6:
[34:36] What's her name?
Speaker 4:
[34:37] Her name is Thao.
Speaker 6:
[34:39] Thao?
Speaker 4:
[34:40] I'm gonna go try to find her Mars of Pan Candy. Mars of Pan Candy fruit tasted terrible. Oh, well, you don't have to review it again. We got it.
Speaker 5:
[34:48] Wait, did she review it on the wrong item?
Speaker 4:
[34:50] No, she reviewed the rug and then she said, that's my rug review. OK, I'm now going over to the Mars of Pan Candy aisle and I'm going to review that too.
Speaker 5:
[35:00] Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[35:00] And she let everyone know, prepare yourselves. I'm not always this sweet. Yeah, I enjoy Snoopy, but Mars of Pan Candy can go fuck itself.
Speaker 5:
[35:08] Yeah.
Speaker 1:
[35:09] So I'm a bit of a snob for it.
Speaker 4:
[35:11] Anyway, and then, of course, Carol loved it. Carol just loved it. She see Carol had bought the Halloween mat last fall and then she just bought the Snoopy mat a week ago. She said the mats are so cool, we use them inside and outside. Oh, they it's excellent texture for brushing off dust and mud from your feet. When I go out and feed my wild birds, the wild, she goes out and feeds wild birds and she gets mud all over her feet and just want to track that shit to her shithole house. So she wipes her feet on the Snoopy mats. But she's been wiping her feet on the Halloween mat since Halloween. She kept the Halloween one in use till this new one just showed up last week.
Speaker 3:
[35:49] Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[35:50] So she had the Halloween one out there. And it's bright and it's new. And we've been looking for this great mat for some time. We're glad we finally found it.
Speaker 3:
[35:58] Yeah.
Speaker 4:
[35:59] So there you go. And she doesn't give a shit about Mars Upon Candy. She's like, I'm here for the mats. I'm not fucking Theo. You know, can't even figure out what she's reviewing. She's so infuriated by the taste of the Mars Upon Candy. Tastes like shit. Anyway, there you go. So that's another fun thing we like to do over here on Cover to Cover, is we like to give you guys what's happening over there. Now, we make fun of the Vermont Country Store, but I want you all to know that I truly love it. I truly love it. It brings me peace in a world of strife and craziness. When I go over to look and see what they got going on over there, it really puts me in a nice head space. You know, they're celebrating their 80th anniversary. 80? It's 80 years. This year, 80 years of the Vermont Country Store. So there you go. That's something. You'll probably be out of business after this bitch gets that Mars Upon Candy review in, but right now they've made it 80 years until Theo has a say in that. But so far, so good.
Speaker 5:
[37:00] I mean, it's got to be the longest running catalog still, like still going.
Speaker 4:
[37:04] Well, you never know. I mean, Harry and David might have something to say about that. They've been around for quite catalogs, have been around for quite some time.
Speaker 1:
[37:10] I feel like they've dwindled in.
Speaker 4:
[37:12] Well, of course, I think, you know, just in general, things like that have dwindled. But I think the catalog business is still going pretty strong. Like around Christmas, we all know we all get them delivered to our homes and they just keep coming. So somebody must be using them.
Speaker 5:
[37:28] I want to sign up for some. I don't get enough catalogs.
Speaker 4:
[37:31] I'm going to get some catalogs. I think you just made a terrible mistake by saying that because they're coming now. Anyway, so I know we, of course, we have another thing that we like to do over here on Cover to Cover. If you've listened for any length of time, you'll know that we love Cruise News with our boy Doug Parker. And we'll go over there and we'll check out and see what's going on in Cruise News with Doug Parker. And it got a little dark today, Cruise News. Let's go ahead and I guess just play it, let Doug Parker tell you, because I don't want to mess up Doug Parker's deal. So go ahead, Doug, let us know what's going on in Cruise News. Good morning.
Speaker 5:
[38:09] Here's your Cruise News for Thursday, April 23rd. A cruise ship in the Mediterranean has recovered five bodies at sea during a 14-night cruise. On Tuesday afternoon, Princess Cruise's Sapphire Princess changed course after spotting an orange life jacket in the water while sailing toward Cartagena, Spain. Crew members launched a rescue boat to retrieve the body and discovered four more deceased in the same area, none of who were passengers or crew members. Princess Cruise has told us in a statement, We extend our sincere condolences for this loss and are grateful to our crew for their swift response.
Speaker 4:
[38:48] Here's the thing, Doug, we're here to have a good time, we're on the cruise and you didn't, we all saw it, we all saw it floating out there, but I don't think we needed to change course on that one, you know what I mean? Like, let's continue on with whatever we were doing. We're having fun here, we paid a lot of money, 14 day cruise, probably everyone's dancing, singing, whatever people do on cruises, having a good time and you're going to change course and drink five dead bodies on these cruises. We don't need that.
Speaker 5:
[39:19] Where are we going to put them?
Speaker 4:
[39:20] Yeah, like what the fuck are we going to do now?
Speaker 5:
[39:22] Now what?
Speaker 4:
[39:23] Everybody's trying to have a good time here to get these dead bodies lying next to us. So I think you could-
Speaker 2:
[39:28] I'm waiting for Cartagena Spain.
Speaker 4:
[39:29] I know, I think you had to called it in to another, like you guys got a smaller boat without a bunch of people looking to have a good time on it, because there's five people floating around out here. Could you come and get them? Anyway, you know, I feel bad about that, but that's some dark cruise news, huh? It's amazing how Doug Parker can really go between, you know, he's such a pro and so good at it, that he could navigate right from, we just pulled five dead bodies out of the water, to like right into like, oh, and the Carnival Cruise has added the all soda ticket back. You know, like there used to be a time when they said, you can't have all the soda, you get one soda, and then he'll talk about how they're now doing unlimited soda packages back. Right from dead bodies in the water, unlimited soda package back, without missing a beat. And he does this every day, and people love it. Anyway, one other thing I wanted to cover before we get out of here on a Thursday is, I'm always fascinated by what, you know, as you get, people in show business get older, the tides of show business change, and you often wonder, like, how do they make money now? What's the, and they seem to always do fine making money. And a lot of times we'll say there's things, these signings, different places they can go to sign. Fan Fests, Comic Cons, Horror Fest. They have all these different ones where people can go and these people will sit behind these tables and you'll stand in a line and you'll walk up and you'll get a signature picture, whatever it may be, from these people. And I've seen some of them happening in different, when I was on the road, I'm in a different hotel somewhere and within the hotel I'm in, there'll be a convention of some sort going on in the same hotel. And I've witnessed, I'm not kidding when I say this, I've witnessed one time, I forget the city I was in, I witnessed a Godzilla convention, a full-fledged Godzilla, I think I was in Chicago, Godzilla convention where it was everybody just there for different Godzilla type. And it was a lot of people. I'm talking like 20,000 people there for just Godzilla. And then I was, I know people joke about this, but I was there for one time, a furry one, where it's the people who dress like different characters. And I believe it's a sexual thing, but some would tell you it's not. It's just, of course it is, but I'm trying to be nice. And then most of it, it's celebrity or horror or whatever. So I wanted to look up the one that was coming next, on the calendar. And it looks like we have something in probably Motor City Comic Con, I guess that would be Detroit, right? That's the Motor City, Detroit. Looks like we got one coming up in May, May like 14th and 15th, Motor City Comic Con. And it looks like a bit of a big one. So this is like not one to really goof on, because now these are some of the celebrities that you could see. Now they got some Haley Atwell, who I've seen her face before, she looks familiar to me. Johnny Young Bosch. John Boyega, he's a big star. Wasn't he in the Star Wars movies?
Speaker 2:
[42:50] Okay.
Speaker 4:
[42:51] So there you go. So you gotta pay this guy. They got Kit Harrington from, you know, he's from the HBO, The Dragon. What's The Dragon?
Speaker 2:
[42:59] Oh, Game of Thrones.
Speaker 4:
[43:00] He's Game of Thrones. He's like the star of Game of Thrones. Snow.
Speaker 2:
[43:03] Oh, John Snow.
Speaker 4:
[43:04] John Snow. So that's a big get. Simon Pegg, who's a big star. Carl Urban. Patrick Warburton, big star. So this is not a shit one. This is a good one. This is a good one. But then you keep going, and you're like, there's Selma Blair's coming. She's got some sort of, she's not doing great, but she'll be there. Nice lady, but I think she's got Lupus or something. I wouldn't stay away from her table book. I don't think it's catchy. Yeah, I don't think it's catchy. Contagious. No, I don't think so. Anyway, Patrick Duffy's coming. He's a long, see now, but you get the big guys, like some of those people I just mentioned. And then you got Patrick Duffy, like, whoa. So I would imagine it's sad, because some of the tables, the line's not as long. Linda Grey's gonna be there from Dynasty in those days. And then it's a lot of people from the HBO show Game of Throne. So that's, people go nuts for that, right? Issam Arales is gonna be there. Whoa. He's a big star. Yeah. Anyway, I see Donnie Most is gonna be there. Donnie Most, who played Ralph Malf on Happy Days. Now Donnie Most is, nothing wrong with Donnie Most. He's got a nice career going for himself. He does a lot of this type of stuff. And I'm not, God bless him for doing it. I was a huge fan of Happy Days. I loved Ralph Malf. It was maybe 50 years ago, perhaps more. And I'm just curious as to what like a Donnie Most Ralph Malf gets. Now it says that he's not only Happy Days, he's there for Dungeons and Dragons, Glee and Lost Heart. That's what he's known for. I guess he does voices on some cartoons and stuff too, which is great. Okay. Just out of curiosity, I would imagine like the guy from John Snow, he's gotta get a lot of money. And for a picture of him, it's a big deal for Kit Harington. But Donnie Most, okay, for an autograph, Donnie Most, 50 bucks. Okay. Fair enough. You would go up to his table and say, I'd like your autograph. Now, I'm happy people do this. I am. I'm truly happy that there are people out there who are excited about this. And I would probably, if I was in the neighborhood and had nothing to do that day, I would go in and walk around one of these. I bet it's fun to see. And I like celebrities and all that stuff, so I would enjoy it. But 50 bucks, and then you get the autograph from Donnie Most. And then what? Like, do you show it to, like people come over and they're like, you just wipe your feet first on the snoopy mat. Now, okay, look at this. This is from Donnie Most. This is Ralph Malf.
Speaker 3:
[45:41] Where'd you get that?
Speaker 4:
[45:42] Oh, from Happy Days? Yeah, yeah, yeah. 50 years ago?
Speaker 3:
[45:45] Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4:
[45:45] Did you get it when he was on Happy Days? No, no, I got it a couple weeks ago. Motor City Comic Con. You went to see Donnie Most? Yeah, yeah, 50 bucks. Anyway, so that's the autograph. And then if you want to get the autograph and a picture, it's 70 bucks. And then for a premium autograph, which I think is on a colored photo, it's 80 bucks. And then a selfie with him, 50 bucks. I just want you to know, once again, if you come to my shows, you guys know New York Comedy Club, Stanford, Connecticut, April 30th, Thursday night. I think there's only two tickets left to the VIP front row seats. And then other people sit three rows back, which is still pretty close. And then May 1st and 2nd at the Brokerage Comedy Club in Belmore, Long Island. If you want to come see me, I don't charge you a dime. You can get a selfie, get a picture. You can get a premium autograph from me. I wouldn't charge you a penny. An auto selfie combination is 80 bucks. A video message. So you would say, hey, Donnie Moose, could you say something to my husband or something? Hi, it's me, Ralph Malf. And then you take 50 bucks from them. Yeah. Okay, now this one I think I would like for $130. This is a Happy Days duo photo with Anson Williams, Potsy and Ralph Malf. Together, the two of them. I follow them both on Instagram. I enjoy both of them. Both seem like decent guys. That's $130 and I think I would do that. I would get that. This one, I don't know how you couldn't. It's $205, but you can get for $205. You ready for this, everyone? You can try to contain yourself. Alex, you ready for this?
Speaker 5:
[47:29] 205?
Speaker 4:
[47:29] $205.
Speaker 5:
[47:31] I got that.
Speaker 4:
[47:31] Yeah. You could get Anson Williams, which is Potsy, Ralph Malfe, Donnie Most and Henry Winkler, Fonzie.
Speaker 5:
[47:40] Whoa.
Speaker 4:
[47:40] In the same picture, $205.
Speaker 5:
[47:42] Henry Winkler there? Yes.
Speaker 4:
[47:44] Yes. He's known for his iconic roles, Ralph Malfe and the beloved television series, Happy Days, a cultural touchstone that helped to find American television for generations. I agree. I agree. Anyways, he's gone on to do a ton of work, so good for him. You want to hear some of the attractions that are going on over there? There's a lot of different things you could do. This one I found interesting. Okay. There's a lot of wrestling stuff. There's a lot of wrestlers and wrestling stuff, but this is something you could do. You could do, you are a voice actor. All weekend in the coral room. Okay, you could spend $5 a line up to two lines. All right? Now this is right up your alley, Alex, because this is what you do. Sound. Are you a brave hero or an evil villain? Maybe you're a warrior with a heart of gold or the anxiest of the bad boys. Experience what it's like to record original dialogue for unique characters. Choose over 60 different line options. So it's almost like karaoke. You go into the sound booth, and you look through what they got, and then you record it. Okay, choose from over 60 different line options. Have fun acting in our portable recording booth. You'll receive your dialogue editor with music and special effects, so you can really feel like you're in that anime of your dreams. Okay? It's going to be there from May 15th to 17th, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Okay? Yeah. So you could go in to the recording booth and go, I am your father. And then they put some music. You, yeah, a guy like you, you know, makes it sound better, sound worse, puts it up, puts it down, whatever you gotta do. And then you have it. And you go, oh my God, this is amazing. Thank you.
Speaker 5:
[49:25] I think what they're also doing is they're dubbing it over the scene too.
Speaker 4:
[49:28] I think so.
Speaker 5:
[49:28] Yeah, so you get to be...
Speaker 4:
[49:30] You're in the scene. Yeah. I think that sounds kind of fun. But once again, okay, now you got it. You spent the money. And that doesn't sound like an exorbitant amount. Five bucks a line. Not at all. Like I just said, I am your father. That cost me, that's only five bucks? Five bucks. But it says a two line minimum. Oh, two line minimum. I think so. Okay, that's not bad. Maybe I'm reading that wrong, but so I would have to, maybe I'd have to do my own ad. I don't know what he says after I am your father.
Speaker 5:
[49:58] Yeah, I think they got, they can provide that to you.
Speaker 4:
[50:00] They can provide that, because I don't want to have to ad lib.
Speaker 6:
[50:04] Yes, I know you're confused by this because you didn't know who your father was. You thought it was that other man who raised you, but that's your uncle. I am your father. You understand? It's, I know it's convoluted, but because I'm Darth, you think of me as Darth Vader. But I'm more than I'm your father. And this is making any sense to you whatsoever.
Speaker 5:
[50:31] No, but I didn't have a dad around until you got here.
Speaker 6:
[50:34] How much am I at now? Thirty five dollars. Okay. Well, I'm going to, I didn't, I wanted to get onto the minimum. So I'm not, should I continue on with this voice or should I go back to my regular voice? I have to leave. I have to get a picture with Donnie Moose.
Speaker 4:
[50:52] So I've never had more fun in an episode in my life than this episode. Anyway, how much do you think that costs to go in there? It says, okay, here you go. It's 10 bucks.
Speaker 5:
[51:03] Ten Min.
Speaker 4:
[51:04] Oh, this might be tickets for everything. Oh, yeah, VIFP. Pan. This is tickets to get in to the Motor City Comic Con. Yeah, VIFP fan pass. Two hundred eighty five bucks. I mean, that's not so bad. That sounds like a fun. I'm I'm not kidding when I say this. Oh, just for like a day. To go for a day. Thirty eight bucks. That's not bad at all. I like that. I would go to that. We are OK. So there's a lot going on. Those are the people that they got here. Celebrity guest list.
Speaker 3:
[51:33] Now, I do I do have a little follow up for you.
Speaker 5:
[51:35] I'm excited to announce that there will be this year. There will be another San Francisco Godzilla Fest.
Speaker 4:
[51:43] Oh, there will. So there was it wasn't San Francisco. That's where I was. I do remember that.
Speaker 5:
[51:46] San Francisco Godzilla Fest. OK, here's going to be one of the vendors you could take pictures with.
Speaker 4:
[51:52] Oh, my God. Octio, Octio, the most low rent shit. I mean, yeah, that was pretty low rent from when I. Oh, William Shatner is going to be at that one in Motor City. Oh, that's the big get. You get Shatner to come. It's the big get. And like, what does it go for? I mean, how much to get a picture with Shatner? Oh, you know what? One hundred twenty bucks for an autograph, one hundred fifty bucks for a picture. Oh, wow. And you can't get him with any of the Star Trek because they hate each other. Like, he wouldn't stand next to Sulu, you know, so. Or the other ones are dead. I think it's just him and Sulu were the only two left. He wouldn't stand next to Patrick Stewart, who was like another captain of a different series, but also in the Star Trek universe. And Shatner's like, fuck that. Stand next to that asshole. So I think he can only get him by himself. Yeah. Oh no, he will stand next to Jonathan Frakes and Brent Spiner, who are on other, different, different Star Trek universes. Yeah, so I take that back. 260 bucks, you can get him standing next to some other people. So that's pretty, he was known for TJ Hooker as well, and Boston Legal. I mean, Shatner's had a great career. He's doing fine. Good for him. That's pretty exciting. All right, everybody, that's it. I mean, I feel like we covered everything on this episode. So what we like to do over here on Cover to Cover, give you guys some laughs, release it right now. I gotta go, I got some things to do on a Thursday. Alex has to go, he's got some things to do on a Thursday. So get some lunch. Where do you go to get lunch? Lunch? Like if you had to have a lunch today, where would you? It's a beautiful day out. It's like perfect LA weather. There's 80 degrees, sunny, blue skies, like a nice place to go sit outside anywhere. Yeah, yeah. Is there a place to still sit outside without somebody coming up, wiping their feces on your face?
Speaker 5:
[53:35] Yeah, we have a new place not far from the house. All outside.
Speaker 4:
[53:38] Oh.
Speaker 5:
[53:39] They got like an indoor... It almost looks like it used to be like a drive up kind of a Starbucksy deal.
Speaker 4:
[53:44] Where's this?
Speaker 5:
[53:44] It's right next to Astro Burger.
Speaker 4:
[53:47] Okay. Oh, I know where it is.
Speaker 6:
[53:48] It's called Guac Daddy.
Speaker 5:
[53:49] Oh. Real good.
Speaker 4:
[53:51] I like that.
Speaker 1:
[53:51] You can smell mesquite fire.
Speaker 5:
[53:53] They're roasting everything.
Speaker 4:
[53:54] Now, are you sitting like on the street or is it like a courtyard behind the... Because that's why I like the courtyard, because the poo poo pee pee can't get me when I'm in the courtyard.
Speaker 5:
[54:02] They've got a courtyard, yeah.
Speaker 4:
[54:03] Okay, that's good.
Speaker 5:
[54:04] So, and it's, they got, not 50 foot, but they got like 12 foot hedges around the courtyard.
Speaker 4:
[54:09] Oh, that'll work.
Speaker 5:
[54:10] You're quiet.
Speaker 4:
[54:11] So, have you been? Have you been already?
Speaker 5:
[54:12] Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4:
[54:13] Nice?
Speaker 5:
[54:13] Yeah, real nice.
Speaker 1:
[54:14] It's a straight walk down our street.
Speaker 5:
[54:16] So, we kinda, you know, we go down there when we wanna sit outside and...
Speaker 4:
[54:19] What do you get? Like, what is it? Is it Mexican food?
Speaker 5:
[54:22] Yep, all Mexican.
Speaker 4:
[54:23] How much?
Speaker 5:
[54:24] Not expensive.
Speaker 4:
[54:25] Okay.
Speaker 5:
[54:26] Not pricey.
Speaker 4:
[54:27] What am I getting a burrito for over there? The guac daddy?
Speaker 5:
[54:30] You get 12 to 14, depending on chicken or beef.
Speaker 4:
[54:33] 12 to 14. That's pretty cheap.
Speaker 5:
[54:34] Yeah, for Hollywood, yeah.
Speaker 4:
[54:36] Yeah, wow.
Speaker 1:
[54:36] Questionably cheap.
Speaker 4:
[54:38] All right, I can get a picture with Donnie Moe's for that price. All right, sounds good, everybody. Enjoy your lunch, enjoy your time, and we'll probably release another one maybe this weekend. Who knows? I got nothing else going on. I'm here, and I'm getting ready to go to my shows. You guys know where they are. I've just mentioned them several times throughout this episode, but I really need to fill up a few more seats over in those, and then of course I have some other ones coming up. Nashville, of course, is what everybody's talking about. That is in May 29th and 30th at Zany's in Nashville. It's a small room, everybody. It's a brand new, beautiful side room that they've made at Nashville Zany's. I can't wait to see it. That's on the 29th and 30th, so go get your tickets at Zany's website or franjola.fun. And then the Funny Bone in Columbus. That's when I have moved that date to June 4th, Thursday night, Columbus, Ohio. Nice. Coming back to the best Funny Bone of all the Funny Bones in Columbus, Ohio. Love Columbus, Ohio. Maybe my brother might come. He lives in the area. So you could maybe look at him. And then of course, Fort Worth, Texas, June 12th and 13th. Comics Mohican Son, June 25th, 26th, 27th. And then I go on my July and August break, never to return.
Speaker 5:
[55:54] Never.
Speaker 4:
[55:55] Okay. What do you got to get out of here on, Alex? I think fun.
Speaker 5:
[55:58] I think we have to get out of here. I mean, it's Comic Con, it's convention season. You're going to go see somebody you love. How about a little bit of Happy Days?
Speaker 4:
[56:09] Yes. Oh my God. I remember when this would come on on, I think it was Thursdays or Tuesdays on ABC. Happy Days came on and it was so exciting when this theme song started. I was such a fan of Happy Days. Loved it. You know, Ron Howard, he doesn't come out to any of these. No, he doesn't come out to the conventions. Not yet, at least. Maybe someday. Anyway, I love it. Thank you, everybody, for listening to Cover to Cover. We have Patreons if you want those. Go get a Patreon. People love it. We do a lot of Patreon episodes. We really have fun over there. Hope you enjoyed this episode. Well, I had some fun and I hope it translates.
Speaker 2:
[56:53] Yeah. Bye-bye.
