[01:00] Hi everyone, welcome back. I hope you're all doing well. Today, we are covering possibly one of the most horrific, gruesome crimes that I have ever come across. The horrific act that happens in today's case will truly give you nightmares. There is still a huge part of me that even questions how today's case even happened. Like, you'll understand what I mean when we get to the horrific events of today's case. But today's case centres around a man called Fidel Lopez, and he was known to be a troublemaker. He was in toxic relationships. He was extremely controlling. He was very jealous. He was a very insecure little man. And one day, Fidel and his current girlfriend, a woman named Maria, they were having sex. And during the act, Maria started calling out her ex's name in pleasure. And Fidel being incredibly possessive, controlling, he absolutely lost it. But he also had some very disturbing sexual tendencies. And Fidel committed possibly the most brutal, horrific, disgusting, disturbing act I have ever come across. And I don't say that lightly. I really, really don't. So yeah, prepare yourselves for today's case and let's jump in. Fidel Lopez was born in 1991. An exact date of birth is not known. And Fidel in his early childhood, he grew up in Havana, Cuba. And growing up at this time in Cuba would have been very difficult for Fidel, because this was right in the middle of what is known as the special period in Cuba. And Cuba fell into pretty much a crisis overnight. Electricity vanished almost entirely. Whole cities were plunged into darkness. Food had to be rationed. In fact, in some cases, food was pretty much impossible to even get hold of. The whole population of Cuba were dramatically losing weight because they didn't have access to food. In fact, the average weight of the entire population went down by 10 kilograms. And Fidel was growing up amongst all of this. And it went on for almost the first 10 years of Fidel's life. And as you can imagine, that had a very profound effect on him. And then by the time Fidel gets to the age of 16, this is when his whole life completely turned around because Fidel and his family moved to the US and they settled down in Florida. Fidel then started attending high school. And this was a massive transition for him. He was also known as a bit of a troublemaker. Neighbours have said that they just could not get along with him. He was not very approachable. He didn't make friends very easily. Apparently, Fidel just didn't know quite how to be a normal person, whatever that means, but he was just antisocial. He just wasn't good with people, I think. However, it was also around this time that Fidel did get his first girlfriend in high school. And from what I have heard about this relationship, it was not a good one at all. And we don't know the name of his ex-girlfriend. They dated for approximately a year when they were both in high school. And Fidel was abusive from the get-go. He was incredibly controlling, possessive of his girlfriend from the very beginning of their relationship. He was a very, very jealous person. He would make her dress a certain way. He would make her speak in a certain way. If any other boy started talking to his girlfriend, he would actually start a fight on that other boy. It was ridiculous. He thought that he owned his girlfriend. And apparently, Fidel had a very bad temper, and he would flip out over everything. And I don't know this, but he might have been flipping out on his girlfriend as well. But not just that. And this next part is very significant to the rest of today's case. But Fidel also had some pretty extreme sexual fetishes and preferences. Because Fidel and his girlfriend, they were in a sexual relationship, and this was her first sexual relationship. So she didn't have anything to base on what was normal in a sexual relationship. So when they would have sex, Fidel would try and insert random objects inside of her. And the kind of things that he was inserting into his girlfriend, I don't know how that's possible. So I'm talking, he would insert candles inside of her. He would insert various different household objects. And his girlfriend felt very uncomfortable about all of this. But like I said, this is her first sexual relationship. So she doesn't actually know, is this normal? Is this not? She didn't know what was normal. Like, was everybody else doing this? She kind of just put it down to Fidel, like this was his thing. Like, I've just got to go along with it. And she didn't really think too much about it, even though she felt so incredibly uncomfortable. But just remember this, inserting things into people, because it comes back up. So eventually Fidel and his high school girlfriend, they do break up. Fidel ends up dropping out of high school and he gets a job as a mechanic. And then when Fidel reaches his twenties, he does meet a woman and they go on to have two children together. And we don't know too much information about Fidel's family. We know that his first child was born in 2013 and then his second child was born just a year later. So then Fidel is 22 years old. He's living with the mother of his two children. So they're living together as a family of four. And we don't actually know what the status of their relationship was, Fidel and the mother of his child. Are they still in a romantic relationship? We don't know. They're obviously living together, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they're together. They could just be living together and co-parenting. And the reason why I am stressing that is because pretty much straight after the birth of his second child, Fidel will go on to meet another woman called Maria. And everything from this point going forward would change. So who was Maria? Her full name was Maria Nemeth. She was born on the 24th of April, 1984. And she grew up in Peru where she lived with her family. And when she was a teenager, she immigrated to the US. And she moved to Florida and she ended up living not too far away from where Fidel grew up. And Maria was described as beautiful inside and out. She was charming, friendly, likable, full of life. And then in 2007, when Maria was 23 years old, she went on to get married and she married a man named Norbert, which is very significant. Remember this name because it comes back up in today's case. And Norbert and Maria were happily married for the next seven years, but they did end up drifting apart and after seven years, they decided to separate. Now, after Maria and her husband had separated, Maria was currently 30 years old. She hadn't dated in a very long time. She was definitely apprehensive about getting back into the dating world. She didn't quite know what to do. She was nervous. She was anxious. But then one night in 2014, Maria ended up meeting a man by the name of Fidel Lopez. And unfortunately, things are about to go quickly downhill from here. So Fidel and Maria first met in 2014 outside of that nightclub. And just bear in mind that Fidel has literally just had his second child. He's currently living with his two children and the mother of his child. But again, I want to stress we don't know their romantic situation, so they may not be together, but who knows? But Fidel and Maria, they start dating regardless. I don't know if Maria knew about the situation at this point in their early relationship, but obviously Fidel does. But anyway, the two of them, they start dating, they start meeting up all of the time, and not too long after they start dating, Fidel asks Maria to move in with him. And I'm like, hold up. He is living with the mother of his children and two young children, and he's now asking his current girlfriend to move in with them. What? So obviously Maria now knows about the situation, because unbelievably Maria says yes. Which would have been extremely awkward for everybody. But anyway, regardless, they're all living together now, and this continues from 2014 to 2015. However, eventually Fidel and Maria, they decide to move out and start their own life together. And they get their own apartment together, and Fidel leaves his two children behind. And Maria must have been very happy, because the two of them now had their own place. She must have seen a future between the two of them. But tragically, that future that Maria possibly saw between them would never actually happen, because literally just one week after moving into their apartment together, the most unthinkable, unimaginable, the most disturbing event happened to her. Because we now get to the 19th of September 2015. This is approximately a week after Maria and Fidel have moved into their new apartment. Now, neighbours in the apartment have commented that Fidel, he was just acting very strange. They didn't trust him. There was just something about him that was off. They wanted to stay away from him. They knew he was trouble. They kind of just kept out of his way. And then on a Saturday evening, Fidel returned home from work. He went home to Maria. They ate dinner together. They visited Fidel's mother. It was just any normal day, like nothing out of the ordinary. After they have, picture this, it's late at night. [12:15] Done visiting for Dales Mother. They actually stopped by Achilles Restaurant. They have a few margaritas. They then return home. They have a few more drinks together. Now, they have just moved into their apartment, so there's pretty much no furniture in their apartment. So they have some makeshift furniture out of boxes. And they're having a good evening. They're having a few drinks. They ended up consuming over half a bottle of tequila. So yeah, they've consumed a decent amount of alcohol at this point. But then, out of nowhere, something would happen that would make Fidel flip out and become an absolute monster. Because at some point during the evening, as they were drinking, Maria revealed that she missed her mom, who lived back in Peru. And she was planning to one day move back to Peru so she could be with her family. And she told Fidel that this had been a dream for her for a very long time, to move back to Peru, just to be with her mom. She missed her so much. And she asked Fidel to come with her, move to Peru with her, so they could start a life together. But Fidel lost it. He was so angry. I mean, obviously, that's a pretty big decision, like to move to a different country. But the way he lost it, he was just so, so, so angry. He started saying that he couldn't move to Peru, that he has two young children, that he can't just get up and leave. And now the conversation is a full blown argument. And what doesn't help matters is that more alcohol is consumed. So now the conversation is just going on, or should I say argument, and now Maria starts talking about her ex-husband, Norbert. And I don't even know what she was saying. I mean, obviously, he was a big part of her life. They were together for seven years. She may not have even been saying anything inappropriate, but for doubt, we know how much of a jealous person he is. Think back to how he was with his high school girlfriend. If any other boy even looked at his girlfriend, spoke to her, he would start a fight on them. So I don't think it would actually matter what Maria was saying. It was just the pure fact that she was speaking about her ex-husband. And for doubt, again, he completely lost it. He was now so angry. He was saying, how dare she speak about her ex-husband? Saying that he didn't want to hear a single thing about him. He then started throwing things around the apartment, like a toddler, and neighbours could hear all of this commotion. This was a very loud argument, and now obviously he's throwing things around. He was not being quiet at all. He was banging on the walls, but the neighbours didn't think too much of it. Which I think just shows you that this probably happened before. Even though they had only been living there a week, the fact that the neighbours didn't really think much of it says a lot. And this led to now another argument between Fidel and Maria. So then once that argument died down, what did they decide to do? They decided to have sex, and they decided that they were going to have sex in the bedroom closet. But as soon as they decide to have sex, things would now go from bad to even worse for Maria. Something is about to happen that is just unimaginable. And I do have to give a warning now because things are going to get extremely graphic. Because according to Fidel, Maria and himself, they were having sex. Maria was bent over in front of him, and out of nowhere, Maria starts calling out her ex-husband's name Norbert in pleasure. And apparently she was screaming out Norbert over and over again. And we know how angry Fidel can get. This is when something inside of him just snapped. And apparently he got more angry in this moment than he had ever gotten in his life. He stopped having sex with Maria and he just turned around and he started destroying the apartment. He was punching holes into the walls, he was smashing furniture, smashing vases. He completely ripped the closet doors off of their hinges. He also took these big glass sliding doors that they had in their apartment and just completely smashed them. There was glass everywhere, and I do mean glass everywhere. It was cut up all over the floor and it was in those tiny, tiny, tiny little pieces. You would not have been able to walk without cutting up your feet. I can't even imagine what Maria is thinking about in this moment. She must have been completely terrified. Neighbours again could hear what was going on. The neighbour below actually said that the ceiling was shaking. They thought that their ceiling fan was going to fall off to the ground. But sadly, no one did anything. No one called the police. And afterwards, after Fidel had finished destroying the apartment, this is when he turned his attention back to Maria, and he just started physically assaulting her. He was punching her, just beating her up completely. Maria was fighting back. She did have defensive wounds. However, at some point, Maria took a huge blow to the back of her head. Fidel had hit her with a heavy object, and she was knocked unconscious. And when Maria had passed out, this is when Fidel turned into an even bigger monster, and he starts doing the absolute unimaginable. Because he first starts sexually assaulting Maria, he bent Maria over in front of him. And if you remember, Fidel has a sexual fetish of inserting objects into women. Well, this is exactly what he starts doing to Maria. And the things that he inserts in her, I don't know how it was even physically possible. He starts inserting all sorts of different objects. He first started with a beer bottle, and he pushes it completely inside of her, a beer bottle. And I don't even know if he took the beer bottle out. I don't think he did, because then he started inserting more objects inside of her. He then started inserting a flashlight into Maria, a coat hanger, and a hair straightener. The hair straightener wasn't on, but still a very large object, what the hell. And Maria, understandably so, was bleeding. Of course she was, with all of these objects being inserted inside of her. Fidel was clearly cutting up her insides, doing immense damage. I mean, he inserted a beer bottle completely inside of her, and I think he just left it in there. And I just don't even know how you would do that. Insert a beer bottle, but then start inserting other things. It's just too much to even think about, but it gets worse. It gets worse. Because now Fidel starts to shove his fist inside of Maria. And he keeps pushing his fist further and further inside, until his whole arm up to his elbow is inside of Maria. And again, I'm just like, how? What the hell? But then he starts violently punching Maria on the inside with his fist in there. And he's just punching her repeatedly, causing her so much internal damage. I can't even believe I'm saying these words. It's just absolutely horrific. And this attack on Maria lasted nearly two hours. And Maria was passed out the whole time. She didn't wake up throughout that whole attack. But the attack still wasn't over. Fidel still had his arm inserted inside of Maria. And he was slowly working more of his arm inside of Maria. And he was screaming out in pleasure as he was doing this. The neighbors have reported that they could hear him screaming in pleasure. And Fidel, he continued to push his arm further and further inside of Maria, until his whole arm was inside of her, up to his shoulder. Which, I don't even know how he got his arm inside of her up to his elbow. But now it's completely inside of her. I don't even know how that would be possible. It had gotten to the point where Fidel's arm was so far inside of Maria, that he was now able to grab on to her intestines. And I don't even know how this was even possible, because a woman's reproductive system, the vagina, the uterus, is completely separate to the whole digestive system. You can't get to the intestines. Like, what the hell? And if you Google, because I have, I don't even know why I Googled this. But if you Google, can you reach someone's intestines from the vagina? Google says that it's impossible. But obviously, it's not impossible because it's happening in this case. Fidel had somehow found a way to reach Maria's intestines. And I think that that just shows you how incredibly violent this attack was. Because he was punching her repeatedly. I mean, obviously, you've got to remember, there's possibly a beer bottle inside of her that's probably broke. She's probably so cut up on the inside and he's just punching her. And he's managed to punch through muscle and tissue. It's just, I don't even know how. Today's case is one of those cases where it's like, how is this even real? And what does Fadal do next? And I cannot believe I'm about to say this. But this is when Fadal starts pulling out Maria's intestines from inside of her. You heard that right. Fadal is now disemboweling Maria from the inside. He is pulling out her intestines and pulling them out through her vagina. What is happening to poor Maria is beyond comprehension. And Fadal just kept going. He kept pulling out her intestines. And he kept pulling until he had several feet of length of intestines out of Maria's body. There was flesh, muscle, organs everywhere. Maria's intestines were just there on the floor. And this is when Fadal had decided that he'd had enough now. And this is when he ended. One of the most brutal, disgusting, disturbing, practically impossible assaults and sexual assaults that I have ever come across. So after Fadal had ended this absolutely horrific attack, he started to panic. I don't think he had meant for the assault to go that far. What he was intending to do, we will never know. But Fadal now starts to try and wake Maria up. I don't know why he thought he would be able to do that after what he has just done, but he is desperately hoping that she is still alive. So he drags Maria's body to the bathroom, and you can see pictures of the apartment after Fadal committed this crime, and there is blood absolutely everywhere. And once in the bathroom, Fadal starts to splash water on Maria's face, trying to wake her up. But of course, she didn't wake up. Fadal then starts washing his hands in the sink to wash the blood off, and I assume he's probably washing his whole arm because his whole arm was inside of her. He was probably head to toe covered in blood. And then, you know, to calm himself down, this is when he goes outside to smoke a cigarette, to try and think of a plan on how he was actually going to get out of this. And when he returned, he started to try and clean up the crime scene, the apartment, and I don't know how he thought he was going to be able to clean up this apartment because this attack was so brutal, there was blood everywhere. It would be unrealistic to clean up a crime scene that was as messy as this one and think you can clean it up well enough to get away with this murder. He took various items and tried to cover up Maria's intestines. He literally just put these items on top of her intestines as if no one would find them. He also changed his clothes and went back into the bathroom to check on Maria and unbelievably she had a slight pulse, which I just cannot believe that she's even still alive. And shockingly, this is when Fadal dials 911. And the call came in at 3.30am and Fadal was in a state of panic. He was crying on the phone, screaming, begging for help. 911, what is your emergency? And the 911 operator is trying to get the address, but Fadal is so panicked, he can barely get his words out. However, officers do eventually arrive at the apartment. And when they open the door to the apartment, the scene that greets them is like nothing they have ever seen in their lives. Because when they entered the apartment, they found a very drunk Fadal, and he was standing over the naked body of Maria, and he was crying, he was trying to shake her awake. And as the officers got closer, they saw that Maria was in a pool of her own blood. And they found that Maria had been eviscerated, meaning that her internal organs had been removed from her body. And paramedics on the scene were trying to treat Maria because at this point she had stopped breathing. They were doing everything that they possibly could to save her, to try and get her breathing again and find a pulse. But sadly, there was nothing that they could do. And at 4am, this is when 31-year-old Maria was pronounced dead. And I'm just absolutely speechless. The way she was murdered was so brutal and violent. And it was from a loved one as well. This has got to be one of the most horrific and gruesome murders I have ever come across. And Maria did not deserve that. I cannot believe that a person is capable of what Fidel did. He is an absolute pure monster. An officer started an investigation, and when they were looking around the crime scene, they were absolutely horrified by what they saw. I mean, there was blood everywhere. On the bathroom floor, on the hallway walls, in the closet. It was just everywhere. The apartment was also completely destroyed. The sliding glass door was shattered to pieces. There were multiple fist size holes in the walls. The closet door had been completely ripped off its hinges. And inside the closet, the officers removed the items that Fidel had used to try and cover up the crime scene. And this is when the officers found chunks of Maria's intestines just on the floor. And when they discovered this, the investigation took on a whole different level because the officers at the scene knew that they were dealing with something that they had never dealt with before. So Fidel was immediately taken into custody and was placed in an interview room. And a detective came to interview him at 7am, just four hours after the crime, the murder of Maria happened. And Fidel voluntarily agreed to speak to investigators, and he started telling them everything that happened.

[26:46] And there is some footage of this interview online, and in the beginning Fidel started to say that everything was consensual. Oh yeah, yeah, he went down the whole route. Oh, it was just rough sex gone wrong.

[27:44] According to Fidel, Maria had asked for him to insert a beer bottle inside of her. That Maria had asked for this, that it was actually a fetish of hers, and that Fidel felt really uncomfortable about this.

[28:00] I mean, first, she start talking like something like, you know, like I was uncomfortable with it, you know? Like, oh, one day, I want you to put a bottle on my pussy.

[28:14] But Fidel said that he would do anything that Maria asked him to. He said, quote, I'm a man, I'm her man. So whatever she asked me to do, I'll do it, you know? Whatever it is, I don't care what it is.

[28:27] You know, I'm a man, I'm her man. So whatever she asks me, I'll do it. Okay. You know? Whatever it is, I don't care what it is. Even if she want me to put my hand in her pussy, I'll put it.

[28:39] Pretty much everything was Maria's idea. It was all consensual. It was all her idea. It was what she wanted. And Fidel just felt really uncomfortable, but you know, he went along. And Fidel also said, conveniently, that he couldn't remember some of the details because he was just too drunk. He couldn't remember when he broke the glass door. He couldn't remember when he punched holes in the walls. He conveniently couldn't remember anything that made him look bad. But he could remember everything else, everything that made him look like a hero. He could remember performing CPR on Maria. He remembered trying to wake her up, trying to splash her face with water. But the detectives, they weren't buying it, because the evidence at the crime scene told a completely different story. The medical examiner found that Maria had severe internal injuries. She had tissue and organs ripped out. There was an enormous amount of blood throughout the entire apartment. There were chunks of flesh found in the closet. And the detective said to Fidel, this is not a case of rough sex gone wrong. You don't just pull out someone's intestines during rough sex. No, no, no. The detective actually said you need to just tell the truth and do the right thing. Because the detectives asked about the intestines, about the fact that they were pulled out, and they said surely that was not consensual.

[29:59] Pulled her intestines. So I know you can sit here and you can say you don't remember and this and that. Let me tell you, you're not gonna forget that. And the fact that you put something over that, you're not being completely honest with us. That came out of her, was in the closet, you saw it, you covered it, and then you, you, you, you flipped out.

[30:25] Look at this scene right here, okay? That's all removed and lifted, and that's what's underneath, and that's where she was.

[30:32] And Fidel tried to avoid the question, but eventually he broke down and admitted that yes, he does remember pulling her intestines out. After hours and hours of interrogation, after being shown crime scene photos, Fidel finally broke down completely, and he told the truth. He admitted that he became enraged at Maria when they were having sex, and Maria called out her ex-husband's name. He admitted that he destroyed the apartment in a fit of rage, and he admitted that when he went back to the closet, Maria was there and she was unconscious, and he tortured her to death. He said, I didn't want to kill her, I know, I killed her. That's whatever I did with her was the reason. And the detectives asked Fidel if Maria ever asked him to stop. Did she ever scream out in pain? And this is when Fidel said no, and that was because she was unconscious throughout the whole thing. And after the interrogation, an autopsy on Maria's body was performed, and the results were just absolutely horrific. Maria had blunt force trauma to the back of her head, bruising covering her entire body. She also had defensive wounds where she tried to fight Fidel off, and when it came to the damage to her genital area, this was something that the examiner had never seen in their entire life. Because Maria had a 3.5 inch tear from her vagina to her anus, which is similar to the kind of injuries that women sustained during childbirth, except that Maria had never had children. This was a brand new injury caused by Fidel. I just can't believe that. He caused the same amount of injury as childbirth. The examiner actually couldn't tell the difference between the two cavities, because they had been completely destroyed. And inside Maria's body, the examiner found that she had sustained internal injuries that were consistent with being violently punched on the inside. Which we know that is what Fidel was doing when he had his arm inside of her. He was violently punching her. Which again is something that I really can't wrap my head around. How he was able to use so much power behind those punches inside of her. He had so much rage inside of him. It was such a brutal, violent attack. Maria was also missing portions of her internal organs, ranging in size from a quarter of an inch to 13 inches. There were also three large portions of tissue removed, totalling over 20 inches long. Maria was also missing approximately 60 inches of her intestines, which is about five feet long, the height of some adults. That is how much of her intestines were missing. The examiner also stated that the injuries that Maria sustained would have caused her unbearable pain. They also believed that Maria, because she was intoxicated, she was possibly slipping in and out of consciousness, meaning that she may not have felt the full extent of the pain caused. But even still, she probably did feel some of that. And obviously, we will never know. And I just really hope that she didn't feel a single thing. I just truly hope she didn't. And after the autopsy, Fadal was charged with first degree murder and sexual battery. And he was held in custody awaiting trial. And the prosecution said that they were going after the death penalty. And initially, Fadal's defense tried to get his whole confession thrown out, saying that Fadal didn't really understand English and he couldn't comprehend his Miranda rights. But the judge quickly ruled that there was sufficient evidence that Fadal, from the footage of his interview, he demonstrated a working use of the English language. But not just that, he also was fully able to understand what was being asked of him and he was able to answer what was being asked of him. So the judge quickly dismissed this motion. And with Fadal, he was obviously facing the death penalty. He started to panic. He didn't want to get the death penalty. So on July 14th, 2017, after an extended stay in custody, Fadal accepted a plea deal. He pled guilty to first degree murder and sexual battery. And in exchange for removing the death penalty, he was then sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. And the judge on this case said that after 23 years of practising, they had never seen a case as bad as this one. And I can't believe this case either. The injuries that Maria sustained are the stuff of nightmares. This case was horrific beyond belief. I don't even know what to say, other than the fact that Fadal is a complete and utter monster. This is one of the most brutal and disturbing cases I have ever come across. And we have covered a lot on this channel, but what Fadal did, I don't even know how that was humanly possible. And I am just glad that Fadal is in prison for the rest of his life, that he will never see the light of day again, because that is exactly where he deserves to be. And now I want to end this video focusing on the victim from today's case. Maria Nemeth was described as a charming, friendly and an amazing person. That she was a beautiful woman inside and out, who was so full of life. She came to the US from Peru, so full of hope. She had so many dreams of what she could make of her life, and everything was taken away from her at such a young age. She was just 31 years old. And my heart goes out to Maria's family and just all of her loved ones. No one deserves to have their loved one go through what Maria went through. It must have been so difficult for them to comprehend what happened to Maria. And I just wish all of Maria's friends, family, loved ones are just doing well.
