Speaker 1:
[00:01] Welcome to Get Sleepy. Where we listen, we relax, and we get sleepy. My name's Thomas. As always, your support makes it possible for us to keep releasing new episodes of this show, week in, week out, all throughout the year. So on behalf of the whole Get Sleepy team, and our listeners all over the world, thank you so much for supporting us. Tonight, we have another of Nicky's beautiful meditations for you. Shortly, we'll be guided by the quiet beauty of a very unique flower, the moonflower. This is a rare and beautiful plant, known for its unusual rhythm. While most flowers turn to the sun, the moonflower is different. It waits until nightfall to open, and it only blooms when the world grows quiet. Each blossom glows softly under the moonlight, releasing a gentle fragrance into the cool evening air. And by morning, it has already closed. Nicky has both written and narrated this meditation for us, so I'll leave it to her to help you settle in further and reach a place of deep relaxation and rest. All you need to do is make sure you're nice and comfortable, settling in wherever you are right now. And without further ado, let's begin our meditation.
Speaker 2:
[03:31] And just as the moonflower doesn't force its bloom, you don't need to force anything either. Wherever you are, make yourself as comfortable as possible. Adjust as you need to, and snuggle down. If they're not already closed, you can allow your eyes to close now. Let your shoulders drop. Feel your whole body drop into this moment, into your space of rest. Notice the points of contact with the surface beneath you. Your head, side or back. All of you, allow all of you to drop into this moment, supported. Give yourself permission to rest now, and bring your awareness to your breath. Just noticing the pace and rhythm of your breath with no intention to change anything. And now as you exhale, allow your day to fall away from you. Allow the weight of the day to release down, away from your body. These roots are pathways, pathways that carry the weight of your day, any thoughts, tensions, anything you no longer need, down and away from your body, away from this moment. release, and feel yourself rooted, free to rest. It's evening now in a quiet garden just after sunset. The last hints of daylight are fading. Overhead, the first stars begin to appear in a darkening sky. The air is still, with just the faintest hint of movement. A breeze that carries the feeling that something magical is about to begin. as if it's being poured gently from above, settling across your skin like the faint brush of silk across your skin. Sense it at the crown of your head, moonlight smoothing your forehead, softening the muscles around your eyes. Feel it move over your cheeks, loosening your jaw, letting your tongue rest gently in your mouth. It continues down your neck, releasing your shoulders, flowing down your arms to your fingertips. Feel it cover your chest, soften your belly. Now allow it to flow through your hips, both legs, and all the way to your toes. Your body is now bathed in this silken moonlight, and everything is calm. As if on cue, the first moonflower begins to open. Its petals ease apart slowly, unfurling with no effort and no rush. The soft white petals loosen one by one, unfurling in slow motion until the full bloom is revealed. Wide and open to the moon, with a trumpet-like shape that curves gently outward. The first moon flower is open. The third one is open.
Speaker 1:
[12:49] The fourth one is open.
Speaker 2:
[12:50] The fifth one is open. The sixth one is open. The seventh one is open. The eighth one is open. The ninth one is open. The tenth one is open. The tenth one is open. The tenth one is open. for dreams to form and for what's been quietly waiting within you to come to the surface. Now bring your attention to your chest, right at your heart center. Imagine a moonflower resting there, still closed, but stirring. And it starts to respond to your quiet breath, your natural breathing rhythm. Petals begin to open with every inhale. As you breathe in, the petals loosen. And as you breathe out, your body grows softer still. Like the moonflowers you've witnessed tonight, your inner moonflower doesn't rush. Petal by petal, the flower at your heart center unfolds. Slow. Until it's in full bloom. This is a space for listening. Listen to what shines through that moonflower space. What does your heart, your inner wisdom, want you to hear tonight? What truth is ready to be known? Simply listen in, and notice what surfaces. You don't need to understand it all now. Just welcome whatever needs to come in. And if nothing arises, that's fine too. Allow this to simply be a space of rest. And now, your inner bloom at your heart space begins to soften again, returning to sleep. Petal by petal, folding inward. All around you, the garden follows. Each moonflower begins to close with ease. One by one, the blooms draw inward, and the garden glow fades gently like candlelight dimming. The breeze settles, everything is slowing, everything is quiet. And you, here in the center of it all, can completely let go now. Follow the rhythm of the garden as it turns to sleep. With each breath, you grow softer. Feel yourself drifting into the same ease that carries the petals closed.
