It was in thoughtcatalog.com. We get stuff from everywhere. thoughtcatalog.com. Five relationship habits that are subtly manipulative. Look for these tactics of covert, low-key manipulation. Because it points out you have a bad relationship that you're in. If these things are happening, you're in the wrong place, okay? Stop trying to justify, well, you know, well, it's, I understand. When they were three years old, something happened in their family and, you know, it's your life. If you want the quality of your life to suck, go for it. However, for the rest of us, five relationship habits, subtly manipulative. Some manipulations are obvious, especially when people are so pop-psych aware. We can spot gaslighting when they try to make you think you're crazy because you factually see or hear it and they go, no, no, and you start second-guessing yourself. These are tactics of covert, low-key manipulation. First one, justifying every purchase. The beginning of most financial abuse starts with your boyfriend, girlfriend, shack up, honey, spouse, insisting you justify everything you buy, even when it's with your own money. Yeah, I've heard that. Yeah. It could be something as simple as a quick run to target, and you find yourself explaining why you bought toilet paper. When big purchases that affect both of you make sense to discuss, your partner should trust you. You can handle small purchases just fine. Thank you very much. If you confuse a familiar recipe, it could be a slip up or it could be associated with amyloid plaque buildup in the brain. Amyloid is a protein that your body produces naturally, but a buildup in the brain could lead to memory and thinking issues. To see what may be behind your memory and thinking issues, talk to your doctor about getting a full assessment. It's never too early to start the conversation. Visit amyloid.com to learn more.

[06:22] Second relationship habit that is covertly manipulative and points out that your relationship sucks is checking in multiple times each day. There is no good reason why your spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend should be keeping tabs on you. You're at work. Why should you check in? They might use an excuse like, they just love you, and they just want to keep in touch. But do they freak out when you don't get back to them right away? Without trust, you have nothing but a sick, sucky relationship. Number three, resorting to the silent treatment during heated discussions. Some people justify giving you the silent treatment for days because I just need to cool down. But there's a difference between communicating that you need a bit of space for a moment and suddenly going completely silent, like a submarine, not wanting to make any noise because there's a destroyer right above them. Okay? Everybody has to be quiet. Purposefully not responding to you is not cooling down. It's a way to manipulate you into giving in, which means your relationship sucks. Next, having families fight your battle for you, or they have their family fighting their battle for them. If you're having a heated discussion about something, that's normal. But then suddenly you get a call or a text from your spouse's mom or dad, usually mom telling you that you should cut her darling child some slack. Of course, when you bring this up to a manipulative partner, they say something like, what? I'm not allowed to talk to my family anymore? My family? Of course, I discuss things with them. You're telling me I can't talk to my family anymore? Talking to their family isn't the problem. Running to mommy and having her fight their battles is, though. And it means your relationship sucks. Last but not least, asking for permission for everything. Now, there's such a thing as being polite. Honey, do you mind if I, is it OK if I, did you need me for something right now because I was wanting to do such and such? That's not asking for permission, and you know the difference. One has a little bit of fear attached to it. The one I'm voicing right now just has respect attached to it. So a manipulative partner will distort what it means to be in a partnership. Rather than working together, they will make you feel like you aren't allowed to make decisions for yourself. And it's never the same when you look at the relationship in reverse. They're not coming to you for permission. Remember, this is your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife. They're not a parent and you're not a tiny kid. So if any of these rattle your chain, you're in a sucky relationship. And you can call and tell me, except for finding out where I am every moment of the day and making sure I respond to a text. He's perfect. These were thoughts from the thoughtcatalog.com. Short, sweet, to the point. Those are pretty good to know that your relationship sucks. So when you're dating, when I was young, I was stupid, I was, it was a Thursday, I didn't like my parents, the excuses you folks come up with for messing up your lives is sad. It's sad, because we have a lifespan, and then we're gone. And I, for one, just have a hard time with you wasting any of that. My number, 1-800-375-2872.
