title Inside Coachella 2026: Bieber Fever, Fights & After-parties

description This week on Pretty Basic, it’s a full post-Coachella recap—and somehow that’s only half the chaos.
We are fresh off the desert (slightly delusional, a little raspy, but still cute and composed) and breaking down everything from VIP compound life and brand trip surrealness to the performances that actually lived up to the hype. Think: dreamy house vibes, private chefs, emotional full-circle moments… and the reality check of realizing you can be both tired and still fun.
We get into:
The Coachella glow-up from Motel 6 to luxury compoundsWhy this year hit different (in the best—and weirdest—ways)And the unexpected emotions that come with “making it” moments
Plus, Remi shares a HUGE life update—like, lifelong dream unlocked—and the girls relive how it all went down behind the scenes (including the sneaky setup that made it even more special).
And as if that wasn’t enough… Remi is secretly in full mastermind mode planning Cal’s surprise 30th birthday Vegas trip—with 18 people, spreadsheets, decoy plans, and just a tiny flight cancellation crisis thrown in for fun.
It’s giving festival highs, planner stress, friendship moments, and a lot of “how is this our life??”
Grab your water (or your matcha), and get ready for this very Pretty Basic Coachella recap. 💫

Speaker 1:
[00:01] Post-Coachella Breakdown.

Speaker 2:
[00:03] We were cute and we kept it cute and composed the whole weekend. I'm gonna say something kind of crazy. Boom, best night of my life.

Speaker 1:
[00:10] Normally we love being in the back where we can twirl and dance, and this was like sardines to the max.

Speaker 2:
[00:16] And he was like, I'm gonna tell you about the Sabrina Speakeasy, and I was like, oh my god.

Speaker 1:
[00:20] The following podcast is a Dear Media production.

Speaker 2:
[00:29] Pretty Basic.

Speaker 1:
[00:32] Hey guys, what's up? Welcome back to our post Coachella breakdown. I'm your co-host, Alisha Marie.

Speaker 2:
[00:39] Breakdown? I'm not, are we gonna cry?

Speaker 1:
[00:43] Oh no, I meant like a breakdown of what happened.

Speaker 2:
[00:44] Oh, we're, I was like, wait, I didn't know we were gonna cry. Hi guys, I'm Remi. Welcome back to the pod.

Speaker 1:
[00:51] It's funny, cause there are words like that, that like could have such different meanings.

Speaker 2:
[00:55] You're so right. I mean, the breakdown absolutely just, yeah, we're just gonna recap it, but I was like, oh my God, we're gonna cry.

Speaker 1:
[01:00] No, I meant like recap.

Speaker 2:
[01:01] Okay, yes, maybe we'll cry.

Speaker 1:
[01:03] Yeah, you know, at this point, you never know. Sorry if our voices are a little, because I'm just like kind of sniffly.

Speaker 2:
[01:11] I inhaled so much dust, but it's kind of sexy, you know? It's kind of giving rasp.

Speaker 1:
[01:17] I love when I get to that point when I'm sick, but it's only lasts for like a day, where you sound like sultry and sexy. After that, I sound like I'm dying, and it's just like, it's like, ooh, girl, get away from me. But there is a point right before the laryngitis hits, where you're like, oh my God, I sound cooler.

Speaker 2:
[01:37] Okay, but like, here's the thing. Right now, I'm manifesting that this is just like, because of the dust and I'm not actually sick. Like, I believe that it's a mindset. As soon as you give in, I'm gonna get sick, and I'm not giving in.

Speaker 1:
[01:48] I know and believe I will fight this, because it could get where, I know it's gonna be good.

Speaker 2:
[01:53] It's gonna be amazing.

Speaker 1:
[01:54] And we have no option.

Speaker 2:
[01:55] Exactly. Well, we have a really big weekend coming up. We had a really big weekend that just happened. There's been a lot going on lately, and I need a nap, but I'm so happy to be here with you and to be here with our Momo bunnies. I wish you guys could see what behind the camera, behind the table looks like. I just gave Alisha a 12, 12? No, a nine pack of Momo bunnies that I secured online for her birthday. And they're all scattered around the floor right now, so they're not on camera. It's so funny.

Speaker 1:
[02:22] I'm going to open one every day when we record. But thank you so much. I screamed. Go watch Remi's vlog.

Speaker 2:
[02:27] Of course.

Speaker 1:
[02:28] But yeah, I had a few people be like, oh my God, are you going to Weekend 2? And I go, God, no. Oh my God, absolutely not. I'm actually going to Vegas. And honestly, that sounds worse than Weekend 2.

Speaker 2:
[02:40] It actually, it does. That's the thing. So guys, we have big news and I'm like, I can talk about it so freely now, but I've been planning this literally for months. Cal's 30th birthday is like in two days, it is two days from now. And it's his 30th birthday and Cal is the sweetest husband in the world. And months ago, I was thinking about like, what do we want to do for his birthday? And he's so like, he gets so overwhelmed by the idea of planning something slash also never wants to cause anybody any sort of like...

Speaker 1:
[03:11] No, I get it. That's how I feel about my birthday.

Speaker 2:
[03:13] Exactly. So I was like, I've been thinking about it. I'm like, I know he's not going to do anything or want to do anything. He just feels like he's like a burden on everyone. So I was like, okay, it's his 30th birthday. I need to do something. But it just so happens that, you know, how life works is your birthday is April 5th, and then Coachella happened this weekend, and then Cal's birthday is the weekend after. So it's just banger after banger after banger. So I've been planning for months. And Cal, his dream has always been to have a Vegas trip with all of his friends, all of his favorite people. And he wanted to do it for his bachelor trip. But unfortunately, it was too much planning. And when you leave planning to straight men, it usually doesn't work out. So that even like Cal's bachelor trip, it happened in Palm Springs, but that was like they were very last minute throwing things together. And Vegas takes like a little bit more logistical planning, especially.

Speaker 1:
[04:01] And guys without girls in Vegas, like it's so hard to get in anywhere.

Speaker 2:
[04:04] Exactly, whole other ball game. So he's always just told me like, oh, it's my dream, it's my dream. And he's always wanted to go with his siblings. So for months, you guys, I've been planning this and I've been like secretly filming him, literally back to the rental house, which is like, I have videos from that of like being like, oh, like, what do you want to do? Should we like just do a trip? Like just us for Vegas? And so that's what he fully thinks is happening. He thinks that he and I are going to Vegas, just us two, like a fun trip. Because we did just go a little while ago, like less than a month ago, but for a work trip where we didn't drink, we just were like working essentially the whole time. So the whole trip then I kept being like, just wait, like we're going to come back for your birthday. We're going to go crazy just you and me. Yes, I've been planting seeds for months. He has no idea. All his friends, his brother, his sister, everyone's coming in, you're coming, all he's coming, Tommy's coming, like all his favorite people. And it's going to be amazing. And I just can't wait. He has no idea. And I've been like praying that no one will like surprise him or like, you know, blow the secret. But I did tell him like we're going. So just in case he thinks that we're going. So it's like, if anyone slips up, it's like, oh yeah, well Rem and I are going to Vegas. But no one slipped up and I cannot wait. I do not feel well, but I'm going to push through for Cal.

Speaker 1:
[05:18] For the 30, like 30 is such a big one. So I'm glad you're like doing something big for him because I totally get it. I feel like I'm similar, but like him even more wouldn't do something for his 30th. You know what I mean? Like he would just be like chilling. It is such a busy month and we're all tired and stuff. So yeah, I think half the reason why I didn't go crazy at Coachella was because my body knew, my body knew I can barely do like, it's essentially doing two weekends of Coachella. This is big. So I think my body knew to like, okay, let's just like pace yourself. You have another big week coming up. You can not afford to get sick and it's gonna be so much fun. I'm so excited.

Speaker 2:
[05:56] I cannot wait. And like I as a planner am living. Like I made, that's why I don't know if you realize, but on the way home from Coachella.

Speaker 1:
[06:03] Oh, you worked.

Speaker 2:
[06:04] I worked, but I also positioned myself behind Cal because on the bus ride home, it was me, Cal, Alisha and Ollie. And I felt so bad because I've just been so busy. I went on those book tour and then straight into Coachella. And then obviously this weekend and the group chat for the, the birthday weekend has been made for a long time. And there's 18 of us going. There's a lot of people going and I've been working on planning everything, but like, it feels like I'm planning a bachelorette or like a bachelor party. Like there's so many logistical things that I'm working with.

Speaker 1:
[06:33] People are flying in.

Speaker 2:
[06:33] People are flying in. I made a Google form so everyone could tell me what their favorite drinks are, what time they're arriving, what time they're leaving, if they're participating on Sunday activities. Like I am living my dream, but I just haven't had time to sit down and make a Canva presentation.

Speaker 1:
[06:45] No, and we are so different. We're so different because literally I was like, my flight's tomorrow and Remi's like, we leave Friday and I was like, oh my God, I have an extra day.

Speaker 2:
[06:54] She had no idea.

Speaker 1:
[06:55] I literally thought I would have showed up to the airport tomorrow. I'm being so serious and I booked it right, thank God. But yeah, you were working and I knew what you were doing. I was like, oh my God, you're so sweet for doing that. You had yourself behind him so he wouldn't see your screen.

Speaker 2:
[07:08] That's why I was like, I can't have him see it. I appreciate that though. Thank you. I just locked in, I made a really cute Canva and put the schedule in and I have the bus driver that drove us around for a bachelorette. He is on lock ready. Alvin. It was our bachelorette. My bachelorette driving, he's ready to go. We're going to the day club. Louis the Child is performing, which so excited because they mean so much to us.

Speaker 1:
[07:32] I can't wait for that.

Speaker 2:
[07:33] It's going to be great.

Speaker 1:
[07:34] I really am excited. So obviously, in the next episode, we'll do a full breakdown because that's the next time we'll record. We'll get the Vegas like extravaganza.

Speaker 2:
[07:44] We can have him on and be like, surprise, what did you think? And he can talk about it. I'm really excited. I'm excited for the plan. So initially, everybody's getting there on Friday, but different times because people are flying in from different airports or different cities, different states, people are driving. And I booked Cal and I a flight. It was supposed to be in the morning. And then I got a text yesterday and I will read it. I planned it all so we land early enough that no one else is there yet because obviously I don't want to see you at the airport or see his friends and then he'll be like, wait, what's going on? And then blow the secret. I get a text yesterday. We're sorry to inform you that your flight to Las Vegas on April 17th has been canceled due to air traffic control restrictions related to the president's visit to the area. As if I didn't already hate that man enough now he's ruining my husband's birthday. So I had to book us a whole new flight, but then everything was sold out because apparently it's a big weekend.

Speaker 1:
[08:37] What's happening?

Speaker 2:
[08:37] I don't know. I don't know why he needs to be there, but anyways, he's in Vegas or California? Vegas. I know. So I had to figure out a new flight, and now we're landing so early.

Speaker 1:
[08:51] He's going to be like, Rem, why don't we just go to the hotel? You're like, no.

Speaker 2:
[08:54] That's the thing too. I can't check in till later, and so I need to figure out a way to get him away from the hotel as everyone's coming in.

Speaker 1:
[09:00] Is there a show that way you're guaranteed?

Speaker 2:
[09:02] Like a movie. Alisha Marie, that's so smart.

Speaker 1:
[09:05] Like the Sphere or something like, because then you're locked in.

Speaker 2:
[09:07] You're so right. That's a great idea.

Speaker 1:
[09:09] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:
[09:10] We're going to figure it out.

Speaker 1:
[09:11] It's going to be like Hello Kitty on ice.

Speaker 2:
[09:14] You didn't tell me Hello Kitty is on ice.

Speaker 1:
[09:16] Imagine. And you're like, Cal, this is for you. And like, obviously it's for you.

Speaker 2:
[09:21] I figured, I already had a plan. We're going to go to the Cosmo. We're going to go to the Cosmo Chandelier Bar. You know her, you love her. We're going to eat some food. We're going to experience some things.

Speaker 1:
[09:30] You can always be like, I really want to go to this one store, I feel like we can definitely keep you guys occupied. Just put me on the room. I'll sneak in there. I'll get everyone in.

Speaker 2:
[09:40] I'll be like, go, go, go, go. That's the thing. You love you to death. Might not be the best planner, but when you are there, girl, you are running that shit like a sergeant. I trust you 100%.

Speaker 1:
[09:52] And I'm going to be like, look, we're locking you out of the room. And if you're not here by this time, I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2:
[09:58] Also, what's really cute is there's a lot of people coming in later. So I think what I'm going to tell everybody to is like, don't don't tell him that people are coming. We could just like be at dinner and then Abby walks in. He's going to like lose his mind. So it's going to be really cute. I can't wait. I'm really excited. I've been looking forward to this. Like as much as, as much fun as I've had over the past like month of everything, like this has been like, I can't wait to see his face when we walk into the room and everyone's there and he's going to be gassed.

Speaker 1:
[10:24] He's going to cry for sure.

Speaker 2:
[10:25] I can't wait. I love you Cal.

Speaker 1:
[10:27] Romie and Loche are here for a minute. They touched down in Southern California, the West Coast because yeah, they were just in NDO for Coachella.

Speaker 2:
[10:37] Yes. They've taken up presidency.

Speaker 1:
[10:39] They really have.

Speaker 2:
[10:40] I honestly got really drunk.

Speaker 1:
[10:42] I didn't.

Speaker 2:
[10:43] I know you didn't. A lot of people were expecting Alisha again.

Speaker 1:
[10:47] Alosh.

Speaker 2:
[10:47] Alosh. No, Alish.

Speaker 1:
[10:50] Alisha.

Speaker 2:
[10:51] People were expecting, I made the TikTok where it's like, we're not going to get, we're only going to get cutesy, giggly, drunk and not messy blackout drunk. And people were like, be for real. We were for real. We were cute and we kept it cute and composed the whole weekend. But overall, how was your time?

Speaker 1:
[11:06] Honestly, it was really good. Like obviously Love Guests had the best time. We stayed at Bretman's house this year. It was just such good vibes. We're like watching music. It was just the vibes, the fung shui. Everything was so fun. And it made me think back to like my first year ever going to Coachella, not knowing what to do at all. And like seeing all these people go to these like crazy after parties and like being on the list for things. And like, I never would have dreamt that I'm like, not only still going, cause I still love Coachella, but the way that like I get to go with such a insane, like coveted brand experience. So it's like, I feel like I was just like still pinching myself. And I know we went last year too, but now that I like, I feel like last year I had imposter syndrome a lot. I still don't take it for granted. I think what helps too is like even this year, I was like, this could be the last year I'm here, like live in the moment, like have the best time, like don't take anything for granted. We had like an amazing chef, like we truly like lived, like it was insane and it was so cool to be able to, you know, just be, just be there. Like I had so much fun at the house. I have other thoughts about the festival by itself. We did talk about it on basically Unfiltered, but I want to talk about like different things on here, but which we can get into. But I overall, like it was a solid year. I did feel older this year. I don't know if it was just me feeling tired. I also did start my period day one.

Speaker 2:
[12:24] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[12:25] And I think I didn't realize that. Like I kind of was just like, don't think about it and mentally push through until like yesterday I was thinking about, I was like, dude, I started my period. I also like tried to limit my caffeine because I was also drinking. I also didn't have my ADHD meds because I was trying not to mix that with alcohol and I was on my period. So then I was like, no wonder I was tired. Maybe I'm not just old. I'm still fine.

Speaker 2:
[12:51] Two things can be true at once. We could be old and fun at the same time. I feel the same way. I will say I talked about on Basic Unfiltered how the vibes were off, but not off in a bad way. It just was very different at the festival. At the house, I felt the same way. We went last year and our house was really nice, but we were definitely the odd ones out of that house. So we felt a little bit nervous to vlog. We didn't know everybody. We wanted to keep to ourselves and be quiet and not be annoying. This year, we got to stay with Brett, and then Brett brought Ms. Kay, and Brian is stylist, and then I brought Cal, you brought Ollie. So it's all of our friends. Everybody's so fun and so nice. We just felt more like we could be more of ourselves. Not that anything was bad last year by any means. We just felt more comfortable.

Speaker 1:
[13:35] It was just intimidating in the first year and not knowing the lay of the land.

Speaker 2:
[13:39] For sure. Again, the guest compound, it is this prestigious thing that we've heard about for years and years and years. I can't speak for you, but I know I'd be like, oh my God, I could never imagine being invited. That's insane and then now we get to go. It's the coolest thing and we got to go to Tokyo with guests. In July last year, we get to know the guest team now. The girls are so sweet. It's so much fun. I really was thinking about my first Coachella, I think it was 2017. It was when Kendrick Lamar headlined and I went with my college girlfriends. We literally were staying at the local Motel 6. It was six of us in a room. We were taking the bus pass. We took the bus everywhere, which honestly was amazing. It's very convenient. We took the bus around. We I remember just having like all like taking showers. What like like yes, like it's and you know, just such a different experience. Both are so beautiful for different reasons.

Speaker 1:
[14:30] One of my first years, I was like I literally slept on the floor because we were trying to cram people into a hotel room and I was like, it's fine. I sleep good on the floor. And I remember I was so hung over and I was so young because the next day I was like, I'm good. Everyone was like, how are you good? And I was like, I don't know. Now looking back, I'm like, the way I was like, I literally looked better waking up after I was like so down bad. And now it takes me two days to recover.

Speaker 2:
[14:55] I'm like, I'm right there with you, girl. It's just, it was the time and like it was so like driving past, we were passing that Ralph's that I used to get picked up at the bus stop. I told you, I was like, this is where like my memory, like the memories of that were so fun. I'm so grateful to still keep going. We get to go and have food and like have a chef make us food. Food was insane. At one point, I complimented him and I was like, well, I kept comp- for every meal, I'd be like, this is insane. Because also like as someone who cooks for people, like the validation is so nice. And so I made sure to like always tell him. And on the last day, I don't, I never mentioned that I also cook. Like I never mentioned that to him.

Speaker 1:
[15:29] I was waiting for you to be like, oh, I had, I-

Speaker 2:
[15:31] It's just like who, that's so like annoying. I also just wrote a cookbook. So I never mentioned it, but I'm assuming Cal or someone did. Cause the last morning I was like, chef, this breakfast is amazing. Like, thank you. And he was like, I think he said something like, oh, to hear that from you. Or like, he said something where I was like, oh, he definitely knows now. And then I was like, oh my gosh. And then I walked away cause I got nervous.

Speaker 1:
[15:52] No, I'm grateful we were able to experience it for so many years because I think it helps us appreciate this more. Like imagine if your first year was at this level. You would think it's normal. And like, I don't know, it's just, I hate when I see influencers take things for granted and I'm like, you don't understand what you have. That was me one time when we went to Club 33 for Disney and I was like, how are there influencers here who don't even know what Club 33 is? Like you are not worthy of going to Club 33.

Speaker 2:
[16:17] I'm so sorry. You had the door kicking them out.

Speaker 1:
[16:19] You're like, what? I'm sorry. That was, I let my guard.

Speaker 2:
[16:23] That stuck with you.

Speaker 1:
[16:23] No. Remi, like you get it. I know you get it.

Speaker 2:
[16:27] I do get it. But I, I didn't, it didn't stick with me the way that it stuck with you.

Speaker 1:
[16:31] Like the way they were probably just like, oh, like this is cute. I'm like, you don't get it. Like you don't get it.

Speaker 2:
[16:35] I mean, it's very coveted. I, and same thing with this. Yes. I totally understand. We got like a really sick bartender the whole weekend. Shout out to Marcella. Shout out to Chef Jeremy.

Speaker 1:
[16:43] Myra, our driver.

Speaker 2:
[16:45] Myra was so cute. They were all so kind. And I have to say, like, this is a shout out to our group. Like they all, it's so funny because like, this is just like us as a group. But like every single one of them kept talking to Cal, because Cal was just being a chatty Cathy with everybody. And they kept being like, you don't understand. Because like they would, all the chefs would talk amongst themselves. All the bartenders would talk amongst themselves, so themselves, the drivers, I'm literally slurring my words. And all of them were like, no, house 15, like they're so great. They're so nice. They don't ask for like crazy things. Like we leave when we're told to leave. We're like, like by the time we got home, Myra was telling me, she's like, oh my God, there are houses that are, we were supposed to be out by 11. We were packed and ready to go 10 30. And we got in the car when they told us to go. And we were home at like a decent time. She was like, oh my God, there are houses that are like just leaving now. It was like 4 p.m. Can you believe that? Anyways, I was really proud of us. And we were like, no, you don't get it. We're all like really like goody two shoes. So like, that's why we're all like that. But it was just like, it was such a good house. Cause you could tell like everybody was just thankful for each other. And like, it was just, the food was amazing.

Speaker 1:
[17:49] Like they have someone there who like does the dishes for you, but I'm like, at least like we all like, at least put our stuff in the sink. And like, we like tried to help out. And I just feel like, yeah, the way they were talking about people they've had in the past just like not like, you know, I'm like, I hate that.

Speaker 2:
[18:08] I agree.

Speaker 1:
[18:08] But grateful having to be here. Let's get into it. This episode is sponsored by Cotton. As you guys know, we just got back from a festival and it reminded me how important it is to think about what you're wearing, especially when you're outside all day. Festivals are so fun, but when you're walking around, standing in the sun, dancing, and staying out until nighttime, your outfit really has to work for the whole day.

Speaker 2:
[18:29] And with festival season happening right now, plus Earth Day coming up on April 22nd, I've been thinking more about what my clothes are made of. One fabric that I keep reaching for, especially this time of year, is cotton.

Speaker 1:
[18:40] Same. When we were packing for the festival, I realized a lot of the pieces I brought were cotton. Things like denim shorts, oversized cotton tees, cotton tanks, comfy cotton underwear, and even some cotton lounge sets.

Speaker 2:
[18:50] Cotton is just so easy to style. Cotton basics work with everything, which makes putting together outfits really simple. A cotton tee and denim shorts can already be a full look, and then you can add a bandana accessory or a jacket to dress it up.

Speaker 1:
[19:00] Cotton comfort is a huge reason why cotton works so well for festivals. Cotton is a natural fiber, which means it's really breathable and helps keep you cool when it's hot outside. And if you didn't know, you do now. The desert is hot, like sun scorching on your skin hot.

Speaker 2:
[19:13] Which is why we definitely appreciated our cotton pieces at the festival, but once the sun went down, it got cooler, which always happens.

Speaker 1:
[19:18] That's why layering cotton pieces works so well. During the day, I wore a cotton tank with denim shorts, and then later I just threw on a denim jacket.

Speaker 2:
[19:25] No, and I did something similar with an oversized cotton tee. It just was so easy to transition from day to night without having to worry about changing my whole outfit.

Speaker 1:
[19:32] Another reason I love cotton is how durable it is. When you find a really good cotton staple, it lasts. It keeps its shape, it doesn't pill easily, and it's easy to care for.

Speaker 2:
[19:40] And you know that's great because festival clothes definitely go through a lot. I mean, dust, sunscreen, sitting on grass, long days outside, people spilling drinks on you. You want pieces that can hold up.

Speaker 1:
[19:50] Exactly, I always say buy it nice or buy it twice. Investing in high quality basics just makes sense when they last in your closet.

Speaker 2:
[19:56] Something else that I recently learned is that cotton is microplastic free, unlike synthetic fibers like polyester, it doesn't shed any plastic fibers, which is awesome.

Speaker 1:
[20:03] And it's naturally hypoallergenic too, which means it's gentler on your skin. That's especially nice when it's hot out and you're wearing something all day. Speaking of hypoallergenic and just more gentle, I got Rosie this really cute little bandana scarf and it's all cotton. I've tried to have her in cute clothes, but I can tell it itches her. She loves this thing. Like she's usually wanting to get things off of her. She's actually like she likes it. I want to accessorize.

Speaker 2:
[20:27] Send me the link. Yes, and I want to buy it for my girls too.

Speaker 1:
[20:30] All three of them.

Speaker 2:
[20:31] No, that's going to be adorable and I'll get a matching one for my hair. Cotton isn't just great for clothing. Cotton bedding is also one of my favorite things to switch to during the warmer month.

Speaker 1:
[20:39] No, same. I'm such a hot sleeper and cotton sheets are cool and breathable and make your whole bed feel really fresh for spring and summer, which is so perfect for me and lean because like I said, I'm such a hot sleeper and on top of that, Rosie loves to cuddle. Basically on top of me, so my cotton sheets are really common clutch. I don't have to worry about sweating at night when I have cotton sheets on my bed.

Speaker 2:
[20:56] I run hot in general, so cotton is amazing. I know we all love the feeling of cotton on our skin. It just feels so nice and soft and the best part is that you don't have to sacrifice style to choose natural fabrics. Cotton is such a versatile staple. Did you notice that Alisha and I are currently head to toe in cotton right now?

Speaker 1:
[21:11] Oh my God, you're so right. My tea, my yoga pants and my socks, all cotton.

Speaker 2:
[21:15] So if you're refreshing your wardrobe this spring or planning festival outfits, check your tags and look for cotton pieces that you'll love and wear on repeat.

Speaker 1:
[21:21] Because at the end of the day, cotton is the fabric of our lives.

[21:27] Speaking of Cal being a chatty Cathy, I also was a chatty Cathy because we had just found out something very exciting. So anytime someone would come up and they would like, you know, whether they introduce themselves or they're just like, oh my God, hi Remi. I'm like, oh my God, Remi, the New York Times bestseller for her cooking with Remi cookbook. And yeah, sorry. So I have a feeling I was the one who told chef about your cooking.

Speaker 2:
[21:47] Honestly, I mean, I appreciate it. I was like, she has a cookbook. I know, I really, I appreciate it. It just feels so weird to like tell people. I just get like so shy about it, but I appreciate that. But we got to find that out. I think it was the day before we left for Coachella. We were recording BU and I had been told by my team on East Coast time, the list comes out weekly for the New York Times bestsellers list. My editor had sent an email being like, I'll probably find out between 4 to 5 PM Eastern time, so let's figure out a plan if she's on the list or if she's not. Because you don't know until they get that list, how we want to handle it. So Tommy called me and he was like, okay, I'm going to be recording. I'm going to be unwell, so nervous because I almost kind of forgot because I wanted to be realistic and at the end of the day, it's a list. The world will keep spinning. I did not write this book to be on the list, but I almost forgot that this was a dream of mine. And as somebody who doesn't have a lot of dreams, this is a dream of mine that I had for so long, even before I started this book process. I think when I started the proposal, I kind of almost put it out of my mind because I was like, this is not the reason. I want to be realistic or just set up expectations. It's not the biggest deal in the world, but I forgot before I even wrote the proposal, I would always think when I see people become New York Times bestsellers, that would be so cool to one day if I ever had a book, for whatever reason it may be, to be a New York Times bestseller. It came flooding back to me in the morning driving over to the studio, and I was like, it's just a list. It's just a list. It's okay. It's okay. But I was so nervous. Tommy told me, he's like, I'm going to call you whether you made the list or not. I'll just tell you. He's like, cameras will be up if you're on it, and cameras won't be up if you're not. I was like, oh my God, okay, I'm really nervous. Also for me, I was like, okay, well, I'm just going to look, and if the cameras are up, I'll be able to see in that moment. We were recording, and I got into the studio that morning, and I was so nervous. I don't know why. To me, it was a big deal, and I thought about our vision boards that we made a couple of years ago, and I found it in the unpacking, and I had put on there New York Times best seller, and I had all the wedding inspo, so I was like, oh my God, I got taken right back to all of that. And we go and record the episode, and then Tommy is like, oh, just text me when you're done. I was like, okay, so I texted him when we finished. My brain was not on the entirety of the episode, and I texted him, I'm done, and then I didn't hear from him, and it was like silence for like 20 minutes, and I was like, oh my God, like I know he knows what's going on, but I know you have something from your end on your POV that happened with it.

Speaker 1:
[24:32] Oh, well, I mean, he messaged Cal and I the day before and was like, hi. So we're going to find out tomorrow about the list. He was like, I'm going to keep you guys updated and let you know. So that way you can at least be ready in case, like, you know, she gets it so we can film it. So we're like, okay, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. So then the next day I'm like waiting for a text. I'm like trying to check my phone while we're recording, be you and I'm just like, do, do, do, do, do. And then I see it and he goes, cameras are going to be up. But I was like, yeah, so then Cal was so cute because you went to the bathroom.

Speaker 2:
[25:03] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[25:03] After we recorded and he's like freaking out because he's like, do I record these? Do I do this? I was like, you're good. So I was like, Rem, oh my God, my fucking vlog camera is a weird setting. Can I steal your camera to check mine? So obviously I could send you the footage, but also I was just like, we need your vlog camera. So I'm like, my bizarre Vark acting is really coming in clutch. I was just like, oh my God, I don't know what's happening. Tommy's like, okay, just hand her the laptop. We're all on the call already. So then you sat down and Cal comes over and just hands you the laptop.

Speaker 2:
[25:31] I honestly, it was kind of the perfect way because in my mind I was like, where's Tommy? What's going on? I thought he was going to call me. I was checking my phone, my phone, my phone. So when Cal handed that to me, he was like, can you check something? I was like, yeah, I didn't know. Then when I pulled it up and it's literally my entire team like Simon and Schuster, everyone's on that. No, that was insane and so exciting.

Speaker 1:
[25:49] Did you know right away or were you scared?

Speaker 2:
[25:51] Once I saw the Zoom, I was like, okay, I'm on the list. Exactly because I know my publisher, I don't think would have called me had I not. I think he would have let Tommy lay me down easy. So when I saw them immediately, I was like, oh my God. And then I got to find out, I always thought it was cool. Again, so many content creators and people do books and you see that they're a New York Times bestseller. And again, it's been something that I've dreamt up for so long. But something that my publisher said that really, really, really stuck with me that I'd never thought about in this way was he was like, you will now and forever be a New York Times bestseller. That's something that's attached to your name now forever. And I didn't think about it like that. And so when he said that to me, that's when I was like, holy shit, I did that. That's so cool. And I found out that also if you get the New York Times bestseller title, the same week that your book goes out, you're an instant New York Times bestseller. So I got to be an instant New York Times bestseller number five.

Speaker 1:
[26:44] We knew.

Speaker 2:
[26:45] Top five, baby.

Speaker 1:
[26:46] We never doubted.

Speaker 2:
[26:48] I love you. Thank you. So that was really like what a fun way to start it out.

Speaker 1:
[26:50] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[26:50] And I felt like finally, like after I finished the tour, I finished everything. I got to find that out. And then I felt like I was like, I did it. Like, OK, now not chapter closed, because obviously the book is still here. And I'm excited to like it's still available for order. Well, if you like her and like, I'm so excited to get my kitchen and cook again soon. Like my kitchen's being redone right now. But like it just felt like, OK, first leg chapter closed.

Speaker 1:
[27:14] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[27:15] And now we get to go to Coachella. Yeah. So that was really fun to know.

Speaker 1:
[27:17] No, seriously, I feel like that was the perfect start of the energy. Like even just that day before and like packing, we're all like me, you and Oli are FaceTimeing each other the night before like trying to figure out like outfits and things to bring and it just felt like girlhood.

Speaker 2:
[27:30] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[27:31] We meet at Guest Headquarters the next day, which was stunning. I'd been there before, but I feel like I saw it different this time. I was just like, whoa, like it's like everyone's busy. Everyone's there. Meet up with Bretman, Ms. K and Brian. And we're all just like, oh, my God, I'm so excited. I hadn't seen him in so long. And then you guys show up. They have like bagels and like coffee and just everything kind of like ready for us. We ended up getting in our van. And then that was so fun to like be with the house together.

Speaker 2:
[27:57] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[27:57] And that way it was also cool because we're all like timely people. It was nice to be like, OK, we're the first van out. We didn't plan this. We ended up being the first van to get to the compound. And I was like, this just tracks with our with our vibes.

Speaker 2:
[28:10] Honestly, love it, though, because also the later you leave, the more traffic you hit. There's something that I saw at the first night party. And I was like, what time do you guys leave? And they were like, oh, my God, we were supposed to be there at 10. I didn't know, I thought it was 11. So I got there at 11.30. So their whole car was just waiting. And I was like, oh, that sucks. And then they hit so much more traffic.

Speaker 1:
[28:27] That would have been me for Vegas. Well, I would have been there a whole day early.

Speaker 2:
[28:29] You would have left it, girl.

Speaker 1:
[28:31] But yeah, anyways, that was, it was so fun. It was so like, everyone was just like excited. We get to the compound, all like, the energy's great. Everyone's like, you're the first car. And we're like, what? That's crazy. But we got there really quick. I feel like we got there in like an hour and or two hours. Like not even it was so the next thing I know, I look up and it's Riverside. I was like, oh my god, we're in Riverside? Who said our side? But yeah, the weather was great too. We did hear that there was supposed to be like a chance of rain. So we were all a little like, oh no, it's gonna happen. But it actually made it perfect cause it wasn't too hot. Like normally some years it was like 103 degrees. The second you go outside, you're sweating. This was actually perfect weather.

Speaker 2:
[29:06] It was so nice. And it's always so fun to go pick up your ticket at Will Call cause like you start seeing people, everyone's in like, it's like the plane ride to a vacation where everyone's really excited. Like when you're going to Hawaii, you're on the plane, you're like, oh my god, you're in the best mood. And then the plane ride back is always like a little bit sad. So it's like the bus ride there. We're all excited. Everyone's out. The sun is out. Everyone's seeing each other. It was so fun. We got our wristbands and then we got to go to the compound first. And we were like the first people greeted. They're like, the first group. When we jump out, we get to see our house. It's beautiful. So stunning and gorgeous. And like, I really respect guests and just like brand trips in general, like the brands or teams that put on brand trips because like they think of everything. And as of someone who loves to plan or also just like someone who, I don't know, has planned like my own trips and things, like there's so many details, especially after a wedding. I always say this, but after a wedding, you like really appreciate the smallest little details.

Speaker 1:
[29:59] Every sticker, every decal, every placement of everything.

Speaker 2:
[30:03] It's a whole thing that they've like thought about, ordered, placed, all the things, take it off later. So seeing all that was so fun. And we learned last year that there is a gifting suite. Again, we didn't know a lot last year and no one told us. We went to this gifting suite that they had on the last day, but they had packed up everything already. So this year, we're like, we're first, we're getting there now. So we put our bags down and immediately run over to the gifting suite and have our pick of the litter for all the things. So we got to go there. They also brought-

Speaker 1:
[30:31] I love my jersey.

Speaker 2:
[30:32] So everything is so cute. I wore the windbreaker yesterday, it's so cute. And we got to also, they had La La Land there, which Brett told me this. He said that he watched our, our guests watched our vlogs last year when Brett was making us matcha. Like he taught us how to make matcha. And so they were like, Oh my God, we should bring matcha to the compound. So they like watch the content and like listen to us, which is super cool too, to like feel taken care of in that way. So there is La La Land there, which is insane. And just like they had IVs and they had massages and just like so much stuff there. It's crazy.

Speaker 1:
[31:05] And because we got there early, we had like so much downtime, which was so nice. So we like chilled, we all made TikToks. I did like a house tour. You taught me K-pop dances. Like honestly, one of my favorite things I've ever done. Go watch it, go engage with it. But that was like, it just felt so fun filming content. And then we had a dinner that night till like seven, but we had a lot of downtime, which was sick.

Speaker 2:
[31:24] The dinner was also amazing.

Speaker 1:
[31:27] Shoku.

Speaker 2:
[31:28] Shoku. It's this like private dining experience that I think either you have to be like referred to, or you can like text a number and like get on the list or something. It's something I've always wanted to try. They brought that to Coachella and like it was all like wag you and caviar. It was insane and like such a fun experience. It's also really fun though to like sit with everybody at these long tables. I got to sit next to Rachel Krakonel, who I've never met before. She was so nice. I love her from The Bachelorette and I literally are bachelor. And I told her that like we were like kee keeing. And then I was like, by the way, I love you. Like, just so you know, because she's probably going to see that I follow her on everything. And she was so nice. And then I also got to sit across from Remy Bader, which I know Remy, but like we haven't gotten to like talk that much. So I got to really know her. And also I realized at this dinner, I've never sat at a dinner or like any experience where someone is also named Remy. So the amount of whiplash I was getting, cause I just heard Remy, Remy, Remy. And it was only 50% of the time me, like I've never experienced that before. So that was really fun. She was so sweet. And then we got to sit across from Denzel. And then we had all of our whole group together. So it was just like fun to see everybody. And like, again, it's like exciting vibes for the weekend ahead.

Speaker 1:
[32:35] Yeah. Did I ever tell you one year in high school, there were four Alishas?

Speaker 2:
[32:39] No way. It's not crazy. Did anyone spell it your way?

Speaker 1:
[32:41] No, we all spelt it different ways.

Speaker 2:
[32:43] All different.

Speaker 1:
[32:43] Weirdly enough.

Speaker 2:
[32:44] Wait, that's so fun.

Speaker 1:
[32:45] I think so. Yeah. And it was so crazy because I was never used to hearing another Alisha. And then there were four of us, which I thought was crazy. That's hard. It was so... But I remember at that dinner, we kept being like, Remi, Remi. And then everyone would be like, wait, who?

Speaker 2:
[32:59] I've never experienced that ever in my life. But I didn't know that till that dinner. I've never had that happen. Because people always are like, I named my dog Remi, or Remi is a boy name. So that's all I know normally. But two girls with an I, love it.

Speaker 1:
[33:11] Love it. I don't even know what else to say. It's really cool seeing the other houses and who's all there. And yeah, we did a little confessional booth, which was really fun.

Speaker 2:
[33:20] So cute.

Speaker 1:
[33:21] I knew they'd probably cut up most of my stuff.

Speaker 2:
[33:22] Did they?

Speaker 1:
[33:26] I answered questions so long and every time I was like, they should just cut that.

Speaker 2:
[33:29] What's that show? It's Grown-ish Oliver again?

Speaker 1:
[33:31] Grown-ish Oliver.

Speaker 2:
[33:32] That's okay. We've been here before. We'll be here again. It's okay. But it was just like, it was exciting. We went back and kind of went to bed early, honestly, cause we're like big day tomorrow.

Speaker 1:
[33:39] They had Sonic. I had Tater Tots.

Speaker 2:
[33:42] They had Sonic that night?

Speaker 1:
[33:43] Oh no, the next night. Sorry.

Speaker 2:
[33:45] Okay. I was like, I missed it.

Speaker 1:
[33:46] You're like, wait, what? So that was Coachella Day Zero, which it's so funny because now there's a thing online where I feel like everyone posts Coachella Day Zero and it's just like the pre-parties or like, you know, all the getting ready, the traveling and all that kind of stuff. So day one comes and Sabrina's headlining that night. We knew we were really excited to see her. And I have to say, I was really excited to see her. I've seen her in concert and I love her in concert. I, part of me was scared that it was gonna be just copy paste of her tour that she just ended of like short and sweet, especially because I like, I know Ariana did that where it was kind of like just the same set. And I was just like, damn, I wanted something different, which granted that was like so long ago. But I think in my head, I just pictured Sabrina doing that and boy was I wrong and I'm so happy I was wrong. Like she put everything into that performance and I know I'm skipping to nighttime, but like that was my favorite performance that day, truly.

Speaker 2:
[34:44] I fully agree.

Speaker 1:
[34:44] She did amazing.

Speaker 2:
[34:46] I also like didn't realize till that set how much I love her. Like I know I like her a lot and I know I listen to her a lot, but I was like, damn, I didn't realize like how much I stan her and she was incredible. Also, I was really happy and like I got emotional for her because, yes, she's popular now and not to be like, I've been here from the beginning kind of person, but like she actually has been around forever, like forever, forever. Even like when Meghan Trainor came on, I think Sabrina's first single was called Can't Blame a Girl for Trying under Disney. Meghan Trainor wrote that and we talked about that when she came on the podcast.

Speaker 1:
[35:22] I forgot.

Speaker 2:
[35:22] It's like the cutest song with like a little ukulele. And so I love that song. She's done so much since then, obviously, but she really got popular after the Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett, and then obviously Short and Sweet really catapulted her. But even hear her sing Because I Like it Boy, which is off Emails I Can't Send, which that's the one song she sang off of there. Did she sing Feather? She did sing Feather. Yeah. So she sang a couple of songs off Emails I Can't Send, but seeing that and where she is now in such a short period of time made me so emotional for her. Seeing her sing that song was so special and she just absolutely crushed it. Her artistry, her vocals, her dance ability, just everything was top, top, top tier.

Speaker 1:
[36:07] Yeah. I wish I could re-watch the whole thing from the live stream because everything's broken up online of just each of the songs.

Speaker 2:
[36:15] I wish they would just put the full set.

Speaker 1:
[36:16] I know, but I think, I feel like the artists usually like doing their own documentary or something kind of showing. Oh, that makes sense. Or maybe they want to sell it to Netflix or something equivalent. I'm not sure, but yeah, thoroughly enjoyed that. But at the beginning of the day, oh my gosh, we ended up, we went to, we get ready, we're having fun, we get to the festival. Who was the first person we saw? Oh, that was Cat's Eye Day. Remi, I'm really like, I'm actually sad and I don't even want to say it because then it makes it so real.

Speaker 2:
[36:43] That we didn't see them?

Speaker 1:
[36:43] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[36:44] I'm sad, but it's okay. We'll see them in concert, it'll be okay. But we were trying to get there, but we just could not get there in time. And we were trying to wait for a golf cart to get across the, like from the main area all the way across to the other side of the festival. And then Alisha and I were like, no, we're gonna make it. We're gonna make it. And Cal was like, you guys, we're not gonna make it.

Speaker 1:
[37:05] He was like, if you wanna see them, we need to start walking.

Speaker 2:
[37:06] And he was right.

Speaker 1:
[37:07] And he was so right. And I think also we were at that level of drunk where we're like not listening.

Speaker 2:
[37:12] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[37:13] We're like, no, no, no, we're fine.

Speaker 2:
[37:14] We were chit chatting with Christina Kirkman.

Speaker 1:
[37:16] He's literally looking at the clock like they've already started. And we're like, no, they haven't.

Speaker 2:
[37:20] In my mind, everybody's late, but like no one was late.

Speaker 1:
[37:23] No, that was our bad. And Cal was right. Obviously I feel like if we really were dying, we would have ran like, you know, and then fucking K-pop demon, 100X comes out and I was just like, and we knew ahead of time.

Speaker 2:
[37:33] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[37:34] We knew. And I, for some reason, I still thought I had time.

Speaker 2:
[37:36] Yeah. I don't know what we were thinking. Honestly, that's completely on us. I will say I love Pinky Up. I love Pinky Up. It's mixed. I love it. I listen to that on repeat all the way over here. I think it's so fun.

Speaker 1:
[37:51] I think it's fun.

Speaker 2:
[37:52] I think it's fun too because I think it actually does showcase their vocals sometimes. Obviously, the chorus is just like them chanting. But there are some places that it showcases their vocals. I think I like it personally. I did not like Internet Girl and I didn't love it. Gnarly grew on me. But they actually do sing in Pinky Up. So that's my take on that.

Speaker 1:
[38:13] We need to re-listen Thinking of That.

Speaker 2:
[38:15] Yes.

Speaker 1:
[38:16] I think also the Grammys, at least in live, it sounded a lot like it was intense.

Speaker 2:
[38:21] Gnarly?

Speaker 1:
[38:21] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[38:22] Because Gnarly, they don't really sing.

Speaker 1:
[38:23] Yeah. I feel like at the Grammys, I think maybe that's also why I wasn't running. So I was like, oh, they weren't really that good at the Grammys.

Speaker 2:
[38:29] I... Well, okay, here's the thing. They are really good. They're good. And they did sing My Way, which is my favorite song from their debut EP or album, whichever it is. They're really, really sweet and cute. It's just a little bit of... It's just like a big mishmash of all of that, though. You know what I mean? Like they're either doing like a ballad, a full ballad, or they're doing like gnarly. And I feel like there's like a... I don't mind it, but I can see where people are like, okay, pick something.

Speaker 1:
[38:54] Oh, TGT.

Speaker 2:
[38:54] And then obviously the Manon of it all, which is T.

Speaker 1:
[38:56] Is it Manon?

Speaker 2:
[38:58] I think it's pronounced Mano.

Speaker 1:
[38:59] There's a girl in Throne of Glass, and it's Manon, and she's badass.

Speaker 2:
[39:06] And where?

Speaker 1:
[39:06] In my book.

Speaker 2:
[39:07] Ah, yeah. Is it spelled M-A-N-O-N? Okay, okay.

Speaker 1:
[39:10] I mean, they pronounce it Manon, but it's probably a different.

Speaker 2:
[39:13] I think it's Manon.

Speaker 1:
[39:15] Manon.

Speaker 2:
[39:15] Manon? Or something like that. Like a cute little accent. But obviously, yeah. And she was there, which is also really crazy. I don't know what the T is on that. I am curious. I don't think we'll ever get it. But I do. I feel badly for the girls that are in the group because they're all really talented. They've all worked really, really hard. But obviously, if it is a race thing with the hype or like, there's a lot of conversation. I don't know what it is. I haven't done too much research, but I hope that everybody's happy, at least the girls, and I hope Mano is happy.

Speaker 1:
[39:46] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[39:46] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[39:47] I'm glad that she was there too, because I feel like it speaks a lot. When the Fifth Harmony breakup happened, Camila would have never have been front row.

Speaker 2:
[39:54] You know what I saw a really funny TikTok on though, where they were like, okay, here's the thing, Cat's Eye, with Fifth Harmony and all the drama, those girls, have you seen all the conversation around Fifth Harmony? Like, their outfits were bad, they were never in sync, the choreography was bad. Someone was like, in the drama of Camila, obviously, but someone was like, at the end of the day, their songs were good. This guy was like, with Cat's Eye, like, it's a mess and the songs aren't great. I do think there are some really good songs, but I don't think it's Fifth Harmony level personally. As a harmonizer, I don't think so.

Speaker 1:
[40:32] As a harmonizer.

Speaker 2:
[40:33] Trust me, I was there, I loved Fifth Harmony. But, to each their own, I like Pinky Up, I like My Way, I like Touch. Okay, I love it.

Speaker 1:
[40:44] No, I really, I was sad we missed them. I was actually like, dang, I really wanted that. And then on top of it, seeing the videos of Huntrix coming out singing, I was just like, oh my god, this is so good.

Speaker 2:
[40:52] We did see EJ though, in the crowd, and I wasn't gonna, Cal was like, you have to say something else. I can, I-

Speaker 1:
[40:58] Drunk Cal's my favorite, cause he's like, Remi, I'm gonna make you go say hi.

Speaker 2:
[41:01] I'm like, no, she's enjoying herself. So I didn't say anything, like I telepathically was like, in my mind, cause I was so drunk, I was like, thank you for all that you've done, I appreciate you so much, and I love you.

Speaker 1:
[41:11] I also was just like, wow, I think like God wanted us to have a moment because we missed the set.

Speaker 2:
[41:15] And she's also so beautiful. She looks like a robot to me, like in them, like cause she's so perfect looking, like the cheekbones, the bone structure, I'm always like, you're just like-

Speaker 1:
[41:26] And she had that pony, or the braid, or-

Speaker 2:
[41:27] Snatched, and the eyes, and the contact, everything, I love it, but-

Speaker 1:
[41:32] Do you think they're gonna come out weekend too also? I kind of could see it.

Speaker 2:
[41:35] Maybe.

Speaker 1:
[41:36] I feel like-

Speaker 2:
[41:38] They should, ride the moment.

Speaker 1:
[41:39] I feel like for them, it's just also fun to do. You know what I mean?

Speaker 2:
[41:42] That's like to go to, like even Camila being on the stage for Young Thug, I'm like, she's living because it's the main stage at Coachella, have fun for her.

Speaker 1:
[41:50] Yeah. I also feel like normally, weekend two is most known for better guests because it's like, weekend one, people do their sets, and then weekend two, they want to bring it and the energy is more hype.

Speaker 2:
[42:00] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[42:01] So I'm so curious who's going to bring out new people or who the same people are going to come out.

Speaker 2:
[42:05] There were guests at weekend one, but I feel like there weren't as many as I normally hear about.

Speaker 1:
[42:10] I swear it's normally weekend two because they need something like exciting to re-get that like not only press, but just like people excited, like, oh my God, remember when Zendaya came out?

Speaker 2:
[42:18] Yes.

Speaker 1:
[42:19] Like that's so epic. Like that was, that was.

Speaker 2:
[42:22] Did Justin Bieber come out for Drake one year?

Speaker 1:
[42:25] He's come out a lot. He came out for Ari, he came out for, He came out for Ariana. Uh-huh.

Speaker 2:
[42:31] I don't remember that.

Speaker 1:
[42:32] I feel like he's usually the one who always comes out on stage.

Speaker 2:
[42:36] And he didn't bring anybody out, did he?

Speaker 1:
[42:38] He did, but people who sing.

Speaker 2:
[42:40] Like on the features on the songs.

Speaker 1:
[42:41] Yeah, yeah, yeah. So Friday was good. We like, honestly, other than missing Cat's Eye, Sabrina, amazing, the monologue, amazing. Everything, like everything was so good.

Speaker 2:
[42:53] It was really funny because I was filming the, I was so drunk at Sabrina. I was like, I had a couple drinks and my feet were starting to hurt. And I was just like, guys, I'm getting tired. And we were up in the like artist section. And then I was, I looked back at you guys and you guys were like, she wants to go about me. Like you guys, you want to leave? And I was like, no, I like, I'll stay. I want to, I want to like vibe it out. Finish my drink, boom. Best night of my life. I was ready, my feet. I couldn't feel my feet anymore. And I do have to say, I am not a lyrics girl. I didn't realize how many lyrics I knew in A Man's Best Friend. So we're singing, we're screaming. Oh my God. She did so many amazing songs. We almost broke up again last night, or we almost broke up again, whatever it's called. I love that one. And she starts in, she goes like, I've actually never performed this live. She did that. There were so many songs, cause we haven't seen her live since when we went in 2024, I think. So it's been like a long time. And we never got to see the show after Man's Best Friend came out. So I don't even know how much she did at the concert. I think she probably did like a few. Oh, I also love My Man on Willpower. So she was just singing all the good songs. We were screaming the lyrics. And then there were these Sabrina stans in front of us who turned around and were like, thank you for bringing the fun. Because the crowd was dead, and he was at least where we were. And he was like, I'm going to tell you about the Sabrina Speakeasy. And I was like, oh my God, thank you for thinking we're good enough to know.

Speaker 1:
[44:17] We were like, oh my God, we're so honored. Cause apparently there's a Speakeasy that it's just like word of mouth, essentially. Like you couldn't really find where it was.

Speaker 2:
[44:26] And this was day one.

Speaker 1:
[44:27] So like he had found, he went out and found it and he's like, yo, there's a Speakeasy, here's where it is. And we were just like, you trust us with this valuable information. Like we are so honored.

Speaker 2:
[44:36] I also didn't realize like that we were bringing the energy. Like to me, we were just like having fun.

Speaker 1:
[44:40] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[44:41] Um, but I guess we were because apparently everybody around us was dead. And so we were like having so much fun. And then she goes to the, the monologue of Susan Serena and she comes out and she comes out and Cal's just freaking out because he's like, this is so amazing.

Speaker 1:
[44:56] No, he's like in the background of all your videos.

Speaker 2:
[44:58] He's literally like screaming in every video. And so Susan Serena has been blacklisted from Hollywood because she's been outspoken about Palestine. And so Cal's so excited. He's like, this is amazing. Like this is incredible. We're all so excited. She, we can't hear because it's so loud and the wind and everything. So Alisha and Cal and I were saying like, we're so excited to go back and listen to the monologue now when it's recorded with the audio so we could hear it. And then everyone, Corey Fogelman comes out, who's her co-star from Girl Meets World, when Sabrina Carpenter was on Girl Meets World. He's in that, we can't hear what he's saying, but like everyone's losing their mind for him because it's really cute that they like they've stayed best friends after. And so then it cuts to like the rest of the show. Everything like the theatrics, the rain coming out, the feathers, the everything was just like so beautifully done. And her finishing it with Goodbye also was like, and the car was so, so well planned out. And so like we left and like I filmed, eyes literally closed because I was like in my mind, I was like, Oh, you know, I was going to do numbers. The Juno. Have you ever tried this one? And so I'm like, Oh, I can't wait to see. So as it's coming up, I'm like, I'm going to film it. My eyes are closed and I'm filming it. But it was kind of long because it was her hitting like a gong. And then it's like Samuel L. Jackson's voice and it's about the dust and the wind and everything. And Cal's voice is in the background just the whole time going, this is the best fucking chat. This is amazing. Da da da da da da. And I didn't realize it because I posted it in that second. And like Alisha looks at me, she goes, you go girl. And I post it. But there's no service. But I'm so drunk and I'm like, OK.

Speaker 1:
[46:32] I'm going to be first to post this.

Speaker 2:
[46:34] I don't think it went up for hours because of the service. And I didn't know Cal's voice was in the background of it. So it's so funny because eventually it went up. Eventually I looked at the post and the comments were like, yeah, Cal, Cal gets it. And so I'm listening and Cal just like, this is fucking amazing. You guys don't understand how good this is. And so I posted it. We got home. We went to bed. And then it was then, oh, no, no, we got home. There was an after party that night, a trying time for my immune system and my energy levels. But we went and Sonic has amazing corndogs. Amazing corndogs.

Speaker 1:

Speaker 2:
[48:43] That night, I ended up going to bed. I was like, guys, you have fun. I went for a bit. I was like, I'm going to go to sleep, have fun, keep partying, whatever. I fell asleep in my makeup, which I never do. Well, also, I was like, it's just going to be a nap, so that's why I did it. I was like, give me a little 20-minute power nap. It's fine. And then everybody left. And then I came back to Cal bringing me A, a corndog, and then also Cal was like begging me. He was like, please take your makeup off. Please, please, please, please. Remi, you have to get up. You have to take your makeup off. So I was like, fine. So I got up. It's like 3 a.m. now. And I go to take my makeup off. And then, you know, once you like wash your face, you're awake. So I'm up. And then he's like, I got tea for you. So he's like telling me some tea. And then Alisha tells me the next morning.

Speaker 1:
[49:27] And our bedrooms are across from each other. So our bathrooms like share a wall. So I'm sitting there and I'm like trying to take out all of my braids because I had so many braids that day, so many charms and so much in this updo. So I'm sitting there somehow, 3 a.m., just slowly taking them all out, but I'm doing it. And I'm like, I'm doing it. So I was like, I'm going to take this out and then I'm going to shower and then I'm going to do my skincare and then I'm going to go to bed. I don't know how I did, but I did. Again, I didn't go too crazy, but I hear commotion, right? And I hear Cal talking and I'm like, oh, Rem must be up. But like I thought you all were like fighting or like, I thought something was like kind of going down. I was like, oh my God, like, I don't, I don't know. You know, and I couldn't make it out. And I wasn't even trying to listen or eavesdrop, but it was just, I could hear voices and I knew it was you guys. And I was just trying to mind my own business. But I also, there was, I wasn't playing music. So I'm just sitting there and I'm like, whatever. I kind of zone out for a little bit. And then I come back to, and I hear Cal go, they were out of corn dogs, no, no tater tots. They only had a certain menu, no burgers. And I was just like, oh my god, this was the heated debate that they're having. And it's about Sonic. And I was dying because I'm like, that is what it would be. Like Cal gets very passionate specifically when he's drunk about things. And I was just, I like chuckled to myself. Cause I was like, that's so funny.

Speaker 2:
[50:48] It's so us. I was like, okay, perfect. I'm going to nap for a little bit, get me a corn dog. So I'm literally laying there with my makeup on. And then he comes, he's like, okay, I'm going to go. He goes, he gets me a corn dog. He brings it back. I'm like, this is the most delicious corn dog I've ever had in my life. And I'm a Sonic lover. And I've been saying, we need more Sonics in LA. I've been saying this for years. There are like no Sonics in LA.

Speaker 1:
[51:10] They still have the one in Anaheim. I just remember I'd always go to Knott's Berry Farm and then we would go to Sonic on Lemon Street, Fullerton.

Speaker 2:
[51:15] There's one in Fullerton by the, what's that like place where people do the two step cowboy dancing thing.

Speaker 1:
[51:21] The line dancing.

Speaker 2:
[51:22] People love that. In Kahoots. In Kahoots. Like that's the only one that I know of. I don't think there's any in LA.

Speaker 1:
[51:29] The way that I'd be so excited cause we would drive an hour just so I can go and hit the intercom and that like loved it.

Speaker 2:
[51:35] Other than that, the only one I know of is like Palm Springs. Cause when I go to Palm Springs or like Palm Desert, like there's some, there's one out there. Girl, there are not enough in LA. I am a Sonic fanatic. The soft pretzel. Get it? Thank me later. I also like the mozzarella sticks and their burgers, but I had never tried their corn dog before. And I love a corn dog, but I kid you not, this corn dog was so, and granted, it might have been because I was very drunk, but like the corn to dog ratio, perfect. Corn, the hot dog was snappy, and it was like so thin and crispy on the outside. And then the little, you know, the best part of the corn dog when you get down to the stick and you got that, oh my God, it was amazing.

Speaker 1:
[52:20] There also is one on the drive up to like Mammoth.

Speaker 2:
[52:24] Gagged. Okay, we're going to go.

Speaker 1:
[52:25] There's literally like none.

Speaker 2:
[52:27] I need to start a franchise. Like if anybody will let me open up my own Sonic, I will. So we're so excited. He's like, I'm going to get you a corn dog. He brings it back to me. I'm like, this is amazing. He's giving me some tea and he's like, okay, it's been 10 minutes. They told me that the tots will be ready in 10 minutes.

Speaker 1:
[52:41] I'm going to go back. I was there.

Speaker 2:
[52:42] I said perfect. Cause then I'm going to go back to sleep. And then I'm tired. I'll go back to sleep. I go back to sleep. That's when he comes back and wakes me up and he goes, can you believe they said 10 minutes? There were no totes. But he did get the totes the last night, don't worry. And they were crispy and salty and delicious.

Speaker 1:
[52:57] When I had mine, mine were a little cold because they kind of were like sitting out. They were still good. But I remember being like, damn, if these were warm, it'd be even better.

Speaker 2:
[53:05] He got some fresh crisps. He probably hit it up multiple times. Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[53:08] They were probably like, oh, this guy, we got to make sure he gets it.

Speaker 2:
[53:10] We heard he was yelling about something on the first night. But we go to bed, wake up. It's Saturday. We get changed. We go. I'm trying to think. We saw Pink Panthers. It was over all the festival vibes were like, it was like-

Speaker 1:
[53:23] It was just too crowded.

Speaker 2:
[53:24] It was so crowded.

Speaker 1:
[53:24] And I've said this multiple places, including my vlog and a TikTok and on Basically Unfiltered. But like it was so packed, so oversold, that I'm actually shocked more people didn't get hurt. Like from what I've seen, obviously people have gotten scammed. They've gotten, there's been a lot of just like talks and discourse, but I'm actually so shocked. There has, oh my God, a light fell from Dulab.

Speaker 2:
[53:46] I know, a speaker.

Speaker 1:
[53:47] Speaker.

Speaker 2:
[53:47] Felt on someone's head.

Speaker 1:
[53:49] Like, are they okay? I never heard anymore.

Speaker 2:
[53:51] I didn't, I think that they were injured, but they're alive, but they're injured.

Speaker 1:
[53:55] And it made me sad because I truly, truly, truly, truly believe I would have enjoyed Bieber more if there were less people there. Oh, we saw Somber.

Speaker 2:
[54:02] Oh yeah.

Speaker 1:
[54:03] We saw Somber. We saw, okay, I didn't know how popular he was. That was packed.

Speaker 2:
[54:08] I feel like, don't hate me. I think it's like Tik, cause he's a big on Tik Tok. You know what I mean? I feel like it's like a Tik Tok thing. Granted, I like Homewrecker and that's literally the Tik Tok song. But like, I feel like it was a lot of like people like, oh, I know his songs from Tik Tok.

Speaker 1:
[54:22] Yeah. I also like, he's very talented. Like he's definitely can sing. It's just not my vibe as much. So I think I was expecting like, oh, we'll kill time. We'll go to, we'll go to Somber. He did bring out the guitars from Smashing Pumpkins. I don't know his name. I'm so sorry, but I was so sad for him because the mic wasn't working. And I'm like, damn, you could see on his, on Somber's face too, he was just like, shit, like this sucks, you know? And I was like, oh, and this is like such a legend coming out too.

Speaker 2:
[54:48] I will say though, when the mic made it, I think the mic made it on by like the chorus.

Speaker 1:
[54:52] Right, when the chorus started.

Speaker 2:
[54:53] It was really sweet though, like everyone cheering. I'm like, that's what like, that's what I love about a festival. I love like the fun vibes. I love like everyone just like excited and in a good mood and like everyone like being there for each other. So like that to me, I was like, that's like Hope Core. When everyone cheered, I was like, yay!

Speaker 1:
[55:10] Yeah, I will say this was one of the first years where I was like, oh, there's not that many people I'm like dying to see on the lineup and pardon me was like, oh, I wonder if that'll make it more enjoyable because then I can just sit and bop and kind of like, you know, find new, usually my favorite sets are the ones I don't expect to watch. And then I'm like, oh my God, I had so much fun.

Speaker 2:
[55:28] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[55:29] But I actually think that wasn't the case this year because I'm such an indecisive bitch that I'm like, I don't care. We go. Where do we go? I don't know. I don't care. And like that, I think made it unenjoyable for me versus like having a like, oh, I want to go here and then I want to go here. Because I feel like there was a lot of times I was like, I don't care.

Speaker 2:
[55:46] No, totally. I agree. You know who set though? I was like, I was like, I'm sure I'll go. But then when we actually like went and like sat there the whole time, I was like, this is so fun.

Speaker 1:
[55:55] It's Pink Panther is obsessed with her.

Speaker 2:
[55:58] I love her. I saw her quite a few years ago, actually at Portola. I think that must have been like 2022 maybe. And at that time love her to death, my girl was giving us nothing. She would walk around with a purse, like a literally like had a shoulder strap purse. And this was like her vibe at the time. And she'd just be like walking in like singing from side to side. Like that was it. And so I was talking to Denzel about it. I was like, I can't wait to see her with her purse. He was like, oh, no girl, she like she gives now. So when we went, choreography, like full on every branding, everything so cute. So good. And when she brought out Tyreke withers, like, no, I was so excited because he's so cute.

Speaker 1:
[56:33] She was one of my favorite sets the whole weekend. And I think it's because again, I was just like, that's what I love is being able to bop around and see other people. But I feel like it was just so crowded. It felt like so much work to like, I didn't go see Labrinth. Like normally I'd be like, oh, let's see Labrinth for a bit. And then we'll go to Pink Panthers cause they're kind of close, but not really. But because it was so crowded, you really had to commit to what you were doing. And you know me, I'm normally a runner, you know, I'm a draw. I literally wasn't even a thought to happen to me. Cause I'm like, it's so crowded.

Speaker 2:
[57:01] There's no way we're going to find each other.

Speaker 1:
[57:03] I don't know, I think it was just because it was so crowded, so many people were extra mean and grumpy or hangry that it made it unenjoyable. The artists themselves did amazing, the ones that I saw. But as a whole, I just feel like the energy was off, but I truly, truly believe it was just how many people there were. I was so excited for Justin. I've never seen it so packed so early.

Speaker 2:
[57:26] Yeah, that was like, it was dangerous levels. And as someone who does have a little bit of claustrophobia, I have to really talk myself down from it when I am pushed up against people. So that's why I do like to be in the back and have the freedom to leave. Because it's not even like, to me where I get nervous and anxious is not when it's happening. It's like, oh my God, well, what if I need to get out and I can't? That's where I start to freak out.

Speaker 1:
[57:46] Well, and you're 5'3, so you can't even see.

Speaker 2:
[57:48] I can't see anything anyways.

Speaker 1:
[57:49] Which I will say, even for me, at one point I turn around at someone's set and seeing so many people behind me, I was like, oh, I'm stuck. It's not even, because yeah, normally we love being in the back where we can twirl and dance. I love singing and just getting that fresh air. And this was like sardines to the max.

Speaker 2:
[58:09] We went into this on BU, so feel free to listen to that episode if you guys want all of that kind of perspective from us. But I just think whoever, Golden Voice, whoever puts on Coachella, really did everybody such a disservice by overselling, did everybody a disservice to overselling in the way that they did.

Speaker 1:
[58:25] Yeah, which obviously, I mean, Bieber's Pool, clearly, he can bring a crowd because I've never seen it that busy.

Speaker 2:
[58:34] I said this on BU, but I definitely underestimated him. I know everybody loves him, and I know there's like, the Bieber fever was crazy when we were growing up, and I know a lot of girlies still have it, but I just did not expect it to be what it was. And it's really cool for him, and I'm so proud of him. Again, we went into everything Bieber, our thoughts over there, but I was not expecting it. And I've never seen all of Coachella be like that. I even think of Blackpink was really crowded. There are certain people where I'm like, oh, they've made record-breaking crowd, but that had to be beyond anything that they've ever seen, I'm assuming.

Speaker 1:
[59:10] Can we talk about the video I posted of you and Cal singing to Young Thug, and then there was the girl next to them. And all my replies in the dance were like, that girl does not pass the vibe. She needs to leave. Why is she eyeing that? Hello, she's at a festival. But I'm like, that's how everyone was.

Speaker 2:
[59:25] Everybody was like, everybody had to stick up their ass, honestly, for lack of a better word or better term. Even at Sabrina, when that guy turned and was like, thank you, because we were just having, we were doing what we always normally do, which is sing and have fun. And I was so drunk, my eyes were closed anyways. So I didn't notice. And then when he said that, I was like, wait, no one's moving.

Speaker 1:
[59:42] I will say that was the first time I realized, like this is what's missing this year was like the dancing.

Speaker 2:
[59:49] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[59:49] Like I felt like there was a couple of times where I was like, oh my God, I'm missing the dancing. And I think it's just because it was so tight and like the vibes of the crowd, which honestly, rightfully so in some aspects, because it was so packed and crowded. Like even, even Bieber, like we, wow. Thank God we had our little sippy cups. We brought, I didn't, okay. So we, first off, I used my little sippy cup as a light. I was like a little barstender service girl because, and which thank God, because we were trying to just like all be in the grass to watch, to watch him. And I know like obviously people camped out for like hours to see him. I actually, looking back, it's like insane to think about.

Speaker 2:
[60:29] I really also, I know this goes without saying, and we've said it already, but like, we're not complaining by any means. We're so happy to have been able to go. We had an amazing experience with guests. We love Coachella. I really am just putting this on, the people who put on Coachella for overselling, and I understand you wanna, like, in case people don't come, in case people don't show up, in case people can't make it, you wanna sell more so that it's full. It's like, you way overestimated, way, way, way, way.

Speaker 1:
[60:58] I have to feel like they know what they're doing, and again, I feel like, my biggest thing is the price gauge. For people to cancel reservations, to get scammed, only to double charge people with thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars. Like, it's actually insane.

Speaker 2:
[61:13] It's criminal.

Speaker 1:
[61:14] It's to that level where it's like almost giving fire festival, where I'm like, you can't, why is a GA ticket this week in $4,000? That makes, that's actually insane, and if anyone should be getting that money, I actually believe it should be Bieber. Like, I saw a lot of people being upset, not upset, just like, he got paid that much money to sit with a laptop, but I'm like, he's making them hundreds of millions of dollars.

Speaker 2:
[61:35] That, yes.

Speaker 1:
[61:36] And he doesn't, and all the scammers get the money. But to me, I'm just like, I have so many, like, that's what pisses me off. So if it's coming across as me, us, or being complaining, I'm like, it's not even about that we had such a great time. For me, I'm just like, it pisses me off that people use loopholes like this to do such shitty stuff.

Speaker 2:
[61:56] We talked about Justin Bieber's performance a lot.

Speaker 1:
[61:57] Yeah, Justin, like, I will fight anyone who said it was a horrible performance. He's so much bigger than just his name of Justin Bieber. Like, so many people have so many ideas of him. And just like Taylor with her eras, like if you went to her concert expecting an era and you didn't get it, you would be upset because you're like, but I want this to like, there's someone with that much discography, too. And like that much like out there in the world, like you want them to touch on everything. So it's like people will always be disappointed to an extent. But I truly I'm like all his past performances has been him chill in a hoodie. Like what were you expecting him to fucking break dance?

Speaker 2:
[62:28] No, I'm also I do personally believe that any artist performing at any festival or any concert like they should have the ability to express their artistry how they want. Like do it however you want. And people that are upset, their expectations obviously just didn't match what they wanted. And also I was having a conversation with my friend who had a horrible time at Coachella this year because they had so much friend drama, so much yada yada yada. And like as I was talking to them, I was like, it's just mismatched expectations. Like one person thought that you guys were all going together. One person thought I'm gonna do my own thing. One person thought this, one person thought that. I thought we were going to this party. I can't get you in to this party, la la la la la. I was like, it's just all expectations, similar with the people who have a problem with Justin's performance. I will say, I will say, and I talked about this too, I think two things can be true at once. I think one, his performance can be whatever he wants and his like believers are gonna love it no matter what. Like it reminded me of Frank Ocean a few years ago. I gave my pass to my assistant who was his biggest fan. She went and then when I saw everything, I was like, oh my God, I hope she's okay. I hope she's had a good time. I talked to her when she got back. I was like, how was it? She was like, amazing. She loves him down no matter what. And so that performance, but Frank's performance was for Frank's biggest fans. Justin's performance was for the believers. That's totally fine. I think he sounds amazing no matter what. I still think there's a conversation that women have to work significantly, significantly harder. And if someone else, I do understand there's a difference between Sabrina Carpenter, who's kind of just coming up now or for the past couple of years versus Justin Bieber. I understand that. Carol G, I understand all of that. But I still just think to me, it's just so apparent. Women have to work significantly harder for the recognition that men have to.

Speaker 1:
[64:16] Taylor mentioned that in her Miss Americana documentary. It's like every three years, a girl has to rebrand themselves, change their hair, da da da, do all this branding things just to stay relevant where men overall don't have to at all. And that is so true. If you actually look back at even other Coachella performances, that always has to be the case. But I do feel like, like you said, two things can be true at once. I do feel like I'd be more mad about it if it was anyone other than Bieber because of what he's been through and he's so talented. He has nothing to prove to the world. And if anything, so much has been taken from him. I kind of liked the stripped down look. But again, if it was Justin Timberlake, I'd be like boo. I'd be like hello.

Speaker 2:
[65:01] For other reasons, yes.

Speaker 1:
[65:02] For other reasons. But yeah, I do feel like out of all people, I'm like Bieber's the one. And then to, I think also, he can actually sing. And the fact that he did draw such a big crowd, he doesn't need to prove his worth to anyone.

Speaker 2:
[65:14] Absolutely.

Speaker 1:
[65:14] So the fact that people are kind of complaining about it, I'm like, he actually, I personally think should be making so much more money because he's being profited off of so much. Also, him being in debt, him not having to sell his, there's so much shit behind the scenes that I'm like, you know what, dude?

Speaker 2:
[65:28] Let him and his laptop just live.

Speaker 1:
[65:29] $10 ox cord. I also saw speculation where it was like, oh, he's only legally allowed to play it off of YouTube. I don't know what's true and what's not because I did see it debunked by someone in law on TikTok. So does that make it real? Who fucking knows? I don't know what his specific contract is, obviously. That would be a cool loophole. I kind of think it was just because he wanted to vibe with the fans, honestly.

Speaker 2:
[65:53] I think he was just paying homage also to like...

Speaker 1:
[65:55] Where he came from.

Speaker 2:
[65:55] Was it Kid Raw? Is that how you say it? Yeah. I think it was just like... I thought it was cute.

Speaker 1:
[66:00] Yeah. Like people were just so happy to see him happy.

Speaker 2:
[66:04] I think also it would have been the perfect vibe for Sunday night closing Coachella. You know what I mean? I think it would just be like a tied up with a bow, really beautiful performance. Everyone's kind of like on the come down, like, okay, weekend's over. Woo, like this is a nice way to end it, relaxing. Obviously, Saturday, they usually give it to like, because most people are there, because Friday people are working, Sunday people have to get back to work. So Saturday is the big, big day. I don't understand why, but like vibes wise, it would have been a really good like come down. Carol G was insane. I feel like that would have been an amazing Saturday performance.

Speaker 1:
[66:38] I feel like her performance is getting very overlooked. Because Sabrina's was first, boom, hi. Justin, obviously, people are weekend. And then Sunday, people are tired or whatever. Like she really fucking did that. And obviously I don't speak Spanish, but she like I was vibing out.

Speaker 2:
[66:56] She's also so beautiful.

Speaker 1:
[66:58] Stunning, Remi. I need her workout routine.

Speaker 2:
[67:01] Her and Becky G. I saw that someone, I don't know if this is true, but apparently her visa, people were like, oh, if you, I'm assuming the government, someone was like, if you speak about ice or speak about anything going on with immigration, then we're going to take your visa away. So I read that. I don't know if it's true, but then Becky G did say something. She gave a shout out to immigrant people. And then she like, the camera like whips around and she like keeps her eyes on it. She's like, you heard what I said. It was really good.

Speaker 1:
[67:31] I love it.

Speaker 2:
[67:31] Really beautiful. They looked insane. They both looked amazing.

Speaker 1:
[67:34] No, yeah. The set was sick too. The set was beautiful and it like really told a story.

Speaker 2:
[67:40] Also Cal was extra excited for Sunday because it was his like favorite people. So in an earlier slot was Clips, who's Pusha T and his brother. And Cal was really excited. They performed at the Grammys with Pharrell. Yes. As you remember, my favorite man, Pharrell. And so he was really excited to see them. He left early because we were just like taking a long time to get ready and we had some like, we had content to film with gas. And so I was like, I don't want to hold you back just in case we ended up being like late. So I was like, go, just go and like have fun. So it ended up working out great though, cause he did go there. He got to see clips and then we were on the way, but then some people in the car forgot stuff. So we had to go back to the house to grab it. So it worked out. He got to see clips. He was really excited. And then that night was Young Thug, which you guys know Cal loves Young Thug. And so we all went and it was really cute because Cal wanted me to go. And he was like throughout the day, he was like, oh, like, do you want to come? And like for me, him going with me to Sabrina, him going, like, he always goes, I want to go. So I was like, duh, I'm going to go with you. And so, but he, I could tell he was like, you don't have to come if you don't want to. So even when we were at the Nobu thing, he was like, like, do you think you guys are going to come? And I was like, yeah, I think everyone's going to come, but like, I'll definitely come with you. And he was like, oh, like, are you sure? Like, I would really love if you came, but like, you don't have to. And I was like, I would love to. And then it was cute because everybody in the group was like, oh, we want to come to see Cal, see Young Thug. Like we love Young Thug, but like we want to see Cal see Young Thug. So we all made it over and we were in the area, the artist area. That's where you got that video of that girl who was, I don't think she was mad at us. I think she just was like, what's going on?

Speaker 1:
[69:12] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[69:13] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[69:13] Yeah. I think she was just like, what's happening? Truly no shade to her. She wasn't rude at all, but it was just, I think that perfectly describes the energy of people. Like, like to me, you're at a festival, you're like, everyone's dancing and singing and.

Speaker 2:
[69:26] I'm gonna say something kind of crazy. It felt like a lot of people thought they were better than everyone else. That was the vibe that I was getting.

Speaker 1:
[69:32] I feel like, yes. Or too cool. Yes, whether that was intended or not, that's the vibe it gave of like, you know.

Speaker 2:
[69:41] Not that girl, but like that was like the energy that I was feeling where it's like, oh, we're too cool to sing, we're too cool to dance. So Cal, I will say, and Cal and I were driving yesterday, he's like, oh, we never talked about what happened at Young Thug, but love of my life, saying every lyric, except for one lyric to Young Thug songs. And so he's, and even like Bretman like looks at him, and he's like, damn, every word to Cal, cause like that's Cal's, I asked him, I was like, between Anderson Paak-

Speaker 1:
[70:06] It's like my girl bounce up and down.

Speaker 2:
[70:07] No, every single word, except one word, to Young Thug. He loves Anderson Paak and he loves Young Thug, and I was like, who is your favorite? And he was like, that's like asking me to pick a favorite child. So he was like so excited. And he was, he met like someone on Young Thug's team also the day before, and Cal was telling me, he's like, here's the thing about Young Thug, like he's kind of a wild card where he's gonna just like do what he wants to do. He's like, I don't know if he's gonna do like his popular stuff or he's gonna do just like the last album. Like, I'm not sure. I really hope he does like some specific songs. And then he ended up doing every song Cal wanted, songs that like he's never done live or like very rarely does live. So Cal was living, but Cal was singing. And so he's singing, singing, singing. And this poor girl next to us though, is like trying to put her camera up for every video or like to get a good video every single song. And I now knowing the Sabrina Carpenter of it all was like, I just know it's only Cal, because he's so close to the speaker, just only Cal's voice singing. And so finally, at one point I looked at Cal and I go, babe, one song, let's not sing. Let's just mouth the words, because this girl's trying to get a video. And he goes, oh, okay. He like doesn't, we never talked about it again. And then yesterday he's like, we need to talk about it. I was like, I love you. But like, I didn't want that poor girl's video to just be every video, be your voice. And he was like, no, I didn't know. I didn't realize till after she was trying to record every song. So he's like, I felt bad.

Speaker 1:
[71:25] Girl, watch the live stream.

Speaker 2:
[71:28] I was like, let her get one video, though. One video is okay.

Speaker 1:
[71:31] One video is okay. You're at a concert, you know? And if it's you're at a concert.

Speaker 2:
[71:36] He understood. When that girl got her video and then he went back to singing, I just said one song, that's it. Just one. So he had an amazing time, though. And overall, Young Thug was also great.

Speaker 1:
[71:48] Yeah, he did great.

Speaker 2:
[71:48] He brought out Camila Cabello. He gave a shout out to Northwest.

Speaker 1:
[71:53] I did see North from a small little distance, and I was like, that was tea. I was like, oh my god, the blue hair. And then people next to me were like, that was North.

Speaker 2:
[71:59] Well, I was dying too, because I guess he kept calling her out and was like, Northwest, where's your parents? And they kept saying, we're gonna start a mosh pit. North, move over. Where's North? Trying to find her. And apparently Kim was there with her the whole time. So people were like, the way that he kept calling her out. And people were like, also, North is so annoyed. Stop, don't call attention to me.

Speaker 1:
[72:17] But she loves it.

Speaker 2:
[72:19] I'm too cool.

Speaker 1:
[72:21] Did you see her fangirling over Alondria and Nick from Love Island? Yes. I thought that was so cute.

Speaker 2:
[72:26] I saw her also fangirl over the Ha Sisters.

Speaker 1:
[72:28] Really?

Speaker 2:
[72:28] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[72:29] Oh my God.

Speaker 2:
[72:29] So she wanted to photo with them, which is so funny and so cute.

Speaker 1:
[72:34] I still feel like she's a baby, but she's like, what, 12, 13?

Speaker 2:
[72:37] Also, you never know who's watching your stuff.

Speaker 1:
[72:38] You never know. You never know.

Speaker 2:
[72:40] We had a really fun time, but also a very tame time. Like we got to see people.

Speaker 1:
[72:46] It's funny though, cause it still was like not tamed to a lot of people, like off their standards, but just because like we weren't really hung over, it was tamed to us.

Speaker 2:
[72:55] Oh, I'm just talking about like we were not like blackout drunk making fools of ourselves.

Speaker 1:
[72:59] But it's funny because we never make fools of ourselves. Oh, I do. Romy and Losh, they never make fools of themselves. That's like, what do you mean? They're the coolest people I know.

Speaker 2:
[73:09] Okay.

Speaker 1:
[73:09] You're right.

Speaker 2:
[73:10] Sorry.

Speaker 1:
[73:11] You didn't do the splits once though.

Speaker 2:
[73:12] That's the thing. I didn't make a fool of myself. I was like cute and calm and collected. It's because we manifested it.

Speaker 1:
[73:17] We said giggly drunk.

Speaker 2:
[73:18] We were giggly drunk, not messy blackout drunk.

Speaker 1:
[73:20] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[73:21] But we did it. I think we were very mature and we had a good time. I'm excited for this weekend.

Speaker 1:
[73:29] That's why, again, I was like in the back of my head, I was just like, I got three more days of this next weekend. We got to be chill.

Speaker 2:
[73:38] Keep it cute. It was really fun and also, we found out I think the last day that Young Thug was next to us, in the house next to us. I was like, it's honestly best because Cal would have somehow found a way to like, oh, I didn't know this is wrong house. Sorry. Jeffrey, is that you?

Speaker 1:
[73:57] Literally. Even the last guest after party, it's so funny because speaking of an imposter syndrome, I feel like when you're on the outside, you're like, what's it like? You still feel like an imposter on the inside because I'm like, I'm not going to just go up to, Young Thug, Travis Scott and be like, yo, dude, what's it like? It's like weird. You have to keep your distance. I feel like a lot of people are always like, whoa, the parties, but it's still, it's just different than what you think. Do you know what I'm trying to say?

Speaker 2:
[74:22] Yes. Also, instead of us gagging on Instagram the next day, we just gag, but we're across the room head down. Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[74:31] It's like, don't make eye contact with anyone.

Speaker 2:
[74:32] No, we're not going to bother anybody.

Speaker 1:
[74:34] I don't want to bother anyone. It's just so interesting and funny. I feel like, yeah, I didn't even really vlog the parties, but that's why. I'm not going to bring out a camera and show, you know?

Speaker 2:
[74:46] I barely vlogged. I sent my footage to Shane yesterday. I was like, this is a third of what I normally vlog at a time. Yeah. But I just was like, having fun.

Speaker 1:
[74:55] Yeah. No, no, no. Oh, that was so cute.

Speaker 2:
[75:00] I was.

Speaker 1:
[75:00] I was just happy to be there.

Speaker 2:
[75:01] I texted Shane. I was like, I'm so sorry. It's less footage than usual. And he was like, no, I'm actually happy. I think you had like a fun, like I'm glad you got to like actually have a fun time. Yeah. Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 1:
[75:12] Yeah. But yeah, we'll be vlogging in Vegas. So check it out.

Speaker 2:
[75:17] Stay tuned, you guys.

Speaker 1:
[75:19] And yeah, I mean, I hope you guys enjoy this episode. Seriously, shout out again to all of the performers. It's such an amazing like honor to be performing at Coachella and you all killed it. Seriously. I just really think they should sell a little bit less. And truly, we're so grateful that we're still gonna be doing really cool experiences like this. And I just hope, you know, we really don't take it for granted. And we're only talking shit about how it's oversold. And I think that artists should get that money instead of scammers.

Speaker 2:
[75:46] Anyway, ditto, love you, bye.

Speaker 1:
[75:49] Love you, bye.
