Speaker 1:
[00:01] The following podcast is a Dear Media production.

Speaker 2:
[00:19] Hello, hello, hello, and welcome back to the show. It's Kristin Johns, your two friends are here for you. What's up, guys? How are we?

Speaker 1:
[00:30] How are you, guys? It is so good to be back here on the mic, ready to chat.

Speaker 2:
[00:38] Yeah, we did a 18 minute pre-show, and we're getting fired up for our actual show. It's gonna be a good one, so stick around.

Speaker 1:
[00:46] I think it's gonna be full of giggles.

Speaker 2:
[00:47] A few giggles, and today's topic specifically, I went a little bit more serious, Kristin went a little bit more goofy, so we don't know what the future holds, but it's gonna be sweet.

Speaker 1:
[00:57] It's gonna be sweet and goofy.

Speaker 2:
[00:58] That's a perfect combo, Chris.

Speaker 1:
[01:00] That could be the title, Sweet and Goofy Thoughts.

Speaker 2:
[01:02] Sweet and Goofy Thoughts.

Speaker 1:
[01:03] From your two favorite thoughts. Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[01:06] Chris, speaking of sweet and goofy, Chris made me a blueberry matcha, which is a little goofy, a little sweet. And let me tell you, it's a 10 out of 10, girl.

Speaker 1:
[01:14] I'm so glad because people in my life have had mixed feelings. You, Emily, Marcus, you're all on different pages. Emily said it's the best drink ever. You said it's the best drink ever. And then I did it with espresso for Marcus and he wasn't a huge fan.

Speaker 2:
[01:34] But can I say, I don't think I would be a huge fan with coffee and berry syrups. It's more of a matcha thing.

Speaker 1:
[01:41] So I agree. Yeah, it complements the grassiness of the matcha more than it does like the roastiness of an espresso. But I have seen people like at coffee shops, they do be making berry syrup for their lattes.

Speaker 2:
[01:56] Not my fave.

Speaker 1:
[01:57] My next coffee flavor, I want to try my friend Abigail Green just posted it, a salted honey iced latte. I know that's been around, but for some reason I was like, that sounds really good today.

Speaker 2:
[02:08] That does. I mean, it's just salt honey in an iced latte, no?

Speaker 1:
[02:12] Exactly.

Speaker 3:
[02:13] Keep it simple, sweetie.

Speaker 2:
[02:15] Groundbreaking.

Speaker 1:
[02:16] But yeah, we've been in full spring fling mode. We've been...

Speaker 2:
[02:25] Go on, go on. I love your spring fling, girl.

Speaker 1:
[02:27] We've just been outside every day, making little improvements to our house with our own bare hands and it's been so rewarding.

Speaker 2:
[02:36] Yeah. Touching the earth is what you've been doing.

Speaker 1:
[02:39] Putting our hands in the soil, landscaping. Marcus built us a pergola.

Speaker 2:
[02:43] I know. It's so nice.

Speaker 1:
[02:46] I know. Okay. Now, you see it's like bare bones right now?

Speaker 2:
[02:49] I see it.

Speaker 1:
[02:49] String whites, wisteria. Marcus already bought... You know what wisteria is?

Speaker 2:
[02:55] The purple drippies? Yes. Of course I do.

Speaker 1:
[02:58] So in a few years, we'll have wisteria everywhere.

Speaker 2:
[03:01] That will be beautiful.

Speaker 1:
[03:02] I know.

Speaker 2:
[03:02] You really are just building this home to be what you wish it to be.

Speaker 1:
[03:08] That's the point.

Speaker 2:
[03:09] Yeah, I'd love it. I actually was talking to Marcus before we recorded today. I got on the side by side with him. We rode around the property, gave the horses water. We went and saw the pigs. You know, you're about to have a bunch of piglets.

Speaker 1:
[03:20] I know.

Speaker 2:
[03:21] I need you. Even if it's...

Speaker 1:
[03:23] Clementine is pregnant.

Speaker 2:
[03:24] Two or three in the morning, I don't care the time. I want you to call me. I'm coming over to hold...

Speaker 1:
[03:29] Live birth?

Speaker 2:
[03:30] Live birth vibes. I want to be here to see those babies be born. I want to hold them fresh. Within hours of birth.

Speaker 1:
[03:36] Of course.

Speaker 2:
[03:37] No, I'm serious.

Speaker 1:
[03:38] Speaking of birth, we just hatched two ducks, like right as Jon drove up. I'm just saying spring is flinging.

Speaker 2:
[03:46] Yeah, there's new life. And isn't new life just so beautiful?

Speaker 1:
[03:51] Honestly, and that is why I come to life in spring. And I won't stop saying it.

Speaker 2:
[03:55] Exactly. This week, I did the biggest spring refresh I could. As you all know, I've been in the process of moving. I have finally moved into my new place. What would you rate it, Chris?

Speaker 1:
[04:07] Jon, you have leveled up. Like your new apartment just feels so bright and airy. For some reason, it feels bigger as well. The view slaps.

Speaker 2:
[04:19] It's 10 foot ceilings. It's a condo, not really an apartment.

Speaker 1:
[04:22] Yeah, you definitely leveled up. And it kind of made me realize I did love your old apartment, just so many memories, very cozy.

Speaker 2:
[04:30] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[04:31] But it was a little bit dark. And I feel like this place just feels more open, airy, bright. And I feel like that's going to do a lot for your mental health.

Speaker 2:
[04:40] I think you're exactly right, Chris. One thing that is incredible about our new space is the amenities. So let me just walk you through my morning this morning. Please. Do you care?

Speaker 1:
[04:50] I would love nothing more.

Speaker 2:
[04:52] I woke up, went down, not even down. I walked to the gym. It's on the same floor as my condo. Did my 45-minute workout. Then walked down the hall to my sauna and cold plunge in the same room. Sauna for 20 minutes.

Speaker 1:
[05:06] Mixed gender?

Speaker 2:
[05:08] Of course. Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[05:09] Oh, wow.

Speaker 2:
[05:09] Everyone's welcome.

Speaker 1:
[05:10] Sauna, mixed gender?

Speaker 2:
[05:11] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[05:12] That's scary.

Speaker 2:
[05:13] No, but everyone stays in their bathing suit. You know what I'm saying? So then we get in the sauna, there's a cold plunge and a hot tub. So that's cryotherapy. Is that cryotherapy?

Speaker 1:
[05:23] Cryotherapy is the freezing room that you go in.

Speaker 2:
[05:27] Yeah. Let's just call it aerobic therapy. So I did my aerobic therapy. Done. An hour and 15 minutes later, I'm walking to my on-site barista named Latanya. Latanya is there every day from 7 to 11 with whatever you want to order. It's free. Have you ever heard of such a thing?

Speaker 1:
[05:47] Wait, even like a latte?

Speaker 2:
[05:49] A matcha, a latte, a Americano, which is what I got.

Speaker 1:
[05:52] Are you ever going to leave?

Speaker 2:
[05:53] I know. And then obviously-

Speaker 1:
[05:54] But tell me the truth, how's the coffee?

Speaker 2:
[05:56] The Americano, I would say, was a six out of 10.

Speaker 1:
[05:58] Oh no.

Speaker 2:
[05:59] Not great.

Speaker 1:
[06:00] Okay, that's bad.

Speaker 2:
[06:01] But also I make an Americano at home that is just hits exactly the way I want it to. So I'm going to try the matcha, I'm going to try a latte, but it's fun to have people over because it's like, oh, we can just go and get coffee in the morning and then walk around the area. The area we moved is super walkable. It's beautiful. I'm going to do a full apartment tour on our Patreon vlog that we're currently filming, so you can head over there to watch it, but very fun. I'm feeling very revived in this new chapter.

Speaker 1:
[06:26] Me and Emily were saying that there is nothing like moving into a new space. It's overwhelming and it's a lot, but there's kind of nothing better.

Speaker 2:
[06:38] I know.

Speaker 1:
[06:38] It's like there's not a better restart. You just feel like everything is fresh, you've purged it all, and you can start over.

Speaker 2:
[06:47] You've purged it all and you've touched every single thing you own, so you know exactly what you have. Because so much of the time, it's like, oh, I've had this in a closet for two years. I forgot I even had it. It's just nice to know every single thing has been touched and packed by you and then unpacked. So it's like, it's just a really good restart.

Speaker 1:
[07:04] I'm so happy for you guys.

Speaker 2:
[07:05] Thank you. It was so funny because I went to bed the first night. And typically our routine is, is we say Ziggy or Alexa, whatever the name is. We say, Alexa, I'm going to bed. And she turns all the lights off in the house.

Speaker 1:
[07:20] And now you don't have that?

Speaker 2:
[07:21] Well, no, we do. But we didn't the first few days because our internet wasn't set up yet. And Emily didn't know if I set Alexa up. So I went to bed and Emily told me the next day, she was like, she didn't know where Alexa was. She's sitting out there and she was like, I should tell her I'm going to bed. So she goes, Alexa?

Speaker 3:
[07:42] Alexa, are you there?

Speaker 2:
[07:44] Are you there? And Alexa didn't respond and she quickly realized I'm going to have to go turn every light off. And that's okay.

Speaker 1:
[07:50] You are such an Alexa family.

Speaker 2:
[07:52] I really love my Alexa. I'm sorry.

Speaker 1:
[07:54] Like I can't even imagine like being like Alexa, curtains closed.

Speaker 2:
[07:59] Imagine. No, I say Alexa, I'm home and all my dim lights turn on. I know, I'm sorry. It is a robot, but I don't mind. It's a robot.

Speaker 1:
[08:10] Now, my question about robots is, would you buy one?

Speaker 2:
[08:16] No.

Speaker 1:
[08:17] To do all your laundry and dishes?

Speaker 2:
[08:18] Yes, yes, yes.

Speaker 1:
[08:20] But it looks like a person. I mean, a robot person, not skin, but like very much metal and white, given Tesla.

Speaker 2:
[08:27] How much were we talking?

Speaker 1:
[08:30] I think they're for sale, like a hundred thousand.

Speaker 2:
[08:33] No.

Speaker 1:
[08:34] Okay, but what if the government was like, everyone's getting a robot?

Speaker 2:
[08:37] Yeah, of course, free labor.

Speaker 1:
[08:39] No, no, no. You're the first to go, obviously. If the government is offering a robot, don't take it.

Speaker 2:
[08:46] Because they're going to get an inside into my world.

Speaker 1:
[08:48] And that's a rule I live by.

Speaker 2:
[08:51] Okay.

Speaker 1:
[08:52] Yeah, it would be tempting, like, and here are the chores I would like it to do.

Speaker 2:
[08:56] Okay.

Speaker 1:
[08:56] Here's the chores I just, that just drive me up a wall.

Speaker 2:
[09:01] Okay.

Speaker 1:
[09:02] Taking my couch covers off and washing them and putting them back on.

Speaker 2:
[09:05] I agree.

Speaker 1:
[09:06] I would buy that robot for that. I also absolutely hate... It slips my mind.

Speaker 2:
[09:18] I hate it. Well, I'll take it from here.

Speaker 1:
[09:21] Double hate.

Speaker 2:
[09:21] I hate dusting my blinds.

Speaker 1:
[09:24] Oh, get rid of the blinds. That's your first travesty.

Speaker 2:
[09:27] Oh, no. I also, I mean, everyone knows, folding a load of laundry, I'll pay someone 20 bucks to where I don't have to fold it.

Speaker 1:
[09:34] Fancy laundry. No big deal for me. I actually quite like it.

Speaker 2:
[09:37] Quite.

Speaker 1:
[09:38] Quite like. I quite like mopping.

Speaker 2:
[09:41] I quite like mopping too.

Speaker 1:
[09:42] I hate doing my couches. What else do I hate? Such a trad wife. I love it all. No, there really is something else.

Speaker 2:
[09:51] I hate cleaning the shower.

Speaker 1:
[09:54] Oh, I don't do that.

Speaker 2:
[09:55] What do you mean you don't do that?

Speaker 1:
[09:56] I don't clean my shower.

Speaker 2:
[09:58] Ever?

Speaker 1:
[09:58] Ever.

Speaker 2:
[09:59] What do you mean?

Speaker 1:
[10:00] I'm like, I live in grime. No, we have someone come every two weeks and deep clean.

Speaker 2:
[10:07] Oh, I'm so sorry. I don't have any maids.

Speaker 1:
[10:10] The secret lives of Mormon wives. Yeah, that's my secret to a happy life.

Speaker 2:
[10:18] Is you have someone come and clean every two weeks.

Speaker 1:
[10:19] Deep clean.

Speaker 2:
[10:20] Well, that must be nice. No, no, it's not crazy. I mean, hey.

Speaker 1:
[10:23] I mean, it's a budgeted thing that I think is so worth it.

Speaker 2:
[10:26] A rule you live by by chance?

Speaker 1:
[10:28] Definitely. If you can afford it, do it. Martha Stewart once said definitely get a house cleaner when you can. She did say that.

Speaker 2:
[10:39] She did? Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[10:40] Yeah. Speaking of Martha Stewart, something that really overwhelms me is seeing photos of Martha Stewart's garden.

Speaker 2:
[10:50] You know.

Speaker 1:
[10:51] I'm like, how?

Speaker 2:
[10:54] Well, you know how?

Speaker 1:
[10:55] She hires gardeners.

Speaker 2:
[10:57] Exactly.

Speaker 1:
[10:58] But just like her wealth of knowledge overwhelms me. I feel like I'll never catch up.

Speaker 2:
[11:03] I bet you we should look up how much Martha Stewart spends on her gardening team a year including all of her crops. I'm going to look it up.

Speaker 1:
[11:11] Okay. Thank you. She just gets it. She gets the vibe I want. Now, that's money I'd pay for getting Martha herself over here and just giving me five tips and tricks. If she could just come give me five rules she lives by in the garden.

Speaker 2:
[11:26] Let's get her on the podcast, honestly.

Speaker 1:
[11:28] She would never.

Speaker 2:
[11:30] She would. Okay, hold on.

Speaker 1:
[11:31] There's no way that she has her gardening salary on the Internet. So good luck with that. And I have a lot of updates too. So she get poppin.

Speaker 2:
[11:40] So it sounds like Martha Stewart from ChatGPT spends around 400 to 600,000 a year on her like gardening. Then 300,000 on supplies and plants. Then any type of redesign, replanting and upgrades, 50K to 200K annually. Realistically, we're looking at one million a year on her garden.

Speaker 1:
[12:06] Okay, well, she definitely... I spent $100 on my rose trees the other day, and I was like, oh my gosh. I'm like, I can't be doing this.

Speaker 2:
[12:19] Yes.

Speaker 1:
[12:20] Okay, so.

Speaker 2:
[12:21] Martha's garden.

Speaker 1:
[12:22] So step number one, one million dollar budget for your garden, and we can all have a Martha garden.

Speaker 2:
[12:27] Well, that's what I'm saying. It's like you look at that, spend a million dollars, you can have it.

Speaker 1:
[12:31] Easy math.

Speaker 2:
[12:32] The realities of life. Now, Martha, if you're listening, let us know what you actually spend or come, you know, set the record straight on the podcast. Oh dear, dear Martha.

Speaker 1:
[12:45] It was Marcus's birthday.

Speaker 2:
[12:46] It was.

Speaker 1:
[12:47] And he had all his best friends over. Jon and Joe couldn't come because they had a cousin in town. But I don't really have much to say about his birthday, except his one dream for his birthday was to work on this jet ski that he got a long time ago that hasn't been running. So I said, just go work on your jet ski all day. I got the kids and he got it running. That was like his day he wanted.

Speaker 2:
[13:16] Oh, that's so fun.

Speaker 1:
[13:17] And then for dinner, we went to sushi row in Nashville.

Speaker 2:
[13:22] 10 out of 10.

Speaker 1:
[13:24] Insane. Gotta add that to our Nashville guide.

Speaker 2:
[13:27] I think it is already on there.

Speaker 1:
[13:28] Okay, cause you had already gone probably.

Speaker 2:
[13:30] It is.

Speaker 1:
[13:31] And then we just had the best dinner. We were just, you know, talking.

Speaker 2:
[13:35] The two of you dating it up for his birthday.

Speaker 1:
[13:38] One rule I live by, date your spouse.

Speaker 2:
[13:40] Oh, that is beautiful. Were you guys flirting all night?

Speaker 1:
[13:44] Definitely. I had bread with hot.

Speaker 2:
[13:46] You had what? It sounded like you said brambola.

Speaker 1:
[13:51] I had bramble pie. I had butterflies.

Speaker 2:
[13:56] It looks like.

Speaker 1:
[13:58] Don't write that down. The amount of just stupidity, I say. Today's episode is brought to you by Mudwater. Now, I know a lot of people are super sensitive to caffeine, and if you are, this is a perfect brand for you because they have lots of different coffee alternatives and blends. They have a matcha, they have a turmeric blend. They also have their original option, which is a coffee alternative that's made with cacao, chai, turmeric and functional mushrooms like lion's mane and reishi. You get a warm focus boost without that wired buzz or the midday crash that usually tags along with a regular cup of coffee. For me, I like having my coffee first thing. And then if I need a little extra boost without the jitters, this is what I go to.

Speaker 2:
[14:53] I have really been enjoying mud water as well because sometimes working from home, I'll have two or three cups a day of coffee. And I just noticed that that much caffeine is just too much for me. So after my one or two cups of normal coffee, I'll switch over to mud water and it tastes so good. It's easy. The package you can bring on the go. Definitely recommend.

Speaker 1:
[15:15] You guys can now grab it at Target and Sprout Nationwide, making better mornings easier than ever. Today's episode is brought to you by First Day.

Speaker 2:
[15:55] Let me just say, as a First Day user myself, for the past two weeks, I have been taking the men's multivitamin gummy every single day, and they are actually delicious and so easy. Sometimes pills for me can be almost annoying, but grabbing a gummy on the go, I don't even think about it, and they're so good. So I've really been enjoying mine. What about you?

Speaker 1:
[16:16] I have been loving giving them to the kids because they have kids' multivitamins as well.

Speaker 2:
[16:21] And do they love them?

Speaker 1:
[16:22] They love them. They just think I'm giving them a little treat, but little do they know, they're packed with all of the vitamins and minerals that they need. First Day is super transparent with what goes in their products. There's no added sugar, no artificial ingredients, no fake dyes. And with just two gummies a day, you're boosting your kids' nutrition, mood, sleep and health. There are nine essential vitamins for brain and mood support. After you purchase, they will ask where you heard about them and you can support our show by telling them that we sent you. Anyways, but I wanted to talk about how he had a bunch of guys over for a bonfire, and it was like nine at night. I look outside under the pergola, and there's an Elani drink. And I'm like, someone is drinking an energy drink at nine o'clock at night, that's crazy. And I got kind of scared. I was like, what if they don't know it's an energy drink? They just like got it out of my fridge. But it was too confusing to be like, who's drinking this? So I just kind of forgot about it. And then the next morning, Marcus was like exhausted. He was like, I've never slept so bad. He was like, I could not fall asleep till 430 in the morning. And then I was like, oh my gosh, why? He's like, I don't know, my mind was just racing. And I was like, don't tell me that it was you drinking the Elani last night. He was like, yeah, I did. But I'm like, that you drank an Elani at 930 at night.

Speaker 2:
[18:21] I'm shocked he even fell asleep at four, to be honest.

Speaker 1:
[18:24] And he was like, but that can't be it. I'm like, I think that has three times the amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee. And in that moment, I was like, you are so dumb. From dating him on his birthday, from butterflies to stupidity, to Elanis at 9pm. But isn't that actually so unhinged to just chug an Elani at 9 o'clock at night and not think it's going to affect you?

Speaker 2:
[18:48] The only way I would ever do that is if I was pulling an all nighter.

Speaker 1:
[18:51] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[18:52] I went to Savannah this week and saw Steve Martin and Martin Short in a live comedy show. It was incredible and honestly kind of a dream come true.

Speaker 1:
[19:01] Seeing them in real life, was that just surreal?

Speaker 2:
[19:04] It was so surreal. I got Emily tickets for Christmas as her gift, and my dad, mom, and Liv all wanted to come too. So the five of us met in Savannah. We got a hotel for two nights, walked around the beautiful streets of Savannah, went to Origins Coffee. I got a vanilla matcha with a cherry cold film, and I have to say it's the best matcha I've ever had with cold foam in my life. Like you have to go. There's one in Hilton Head and one in Savannah, and it's worth taking the trip just to get that.

Speaker 1:
[19:32] What?

Speaker 2:
[19:32] Yeah, I swear it.

Speaker 1:
[19:33] What?

Speaker 2:
[19:34] I know.

Speaker 1:
[19:35] Wow.

Speaker 2:
[19:35] So that was a highlight. Of course, seeing the guys perform, they were hilarious. My mom cried at the end as they were leaving because Steve Martin is 80, Martin Short is 76, and they're doing this incredible, hilarious show.

Speaker 1:
[19:48] Why are they doing that? Shouldn't they be retired?

Speaker 2:
[19:51] I know. And then Liv cried when they came out because she falls asleep to Father of the Bride almost every night. So it was just like a very sweet thing we did together. And you know what I told Emily? I said, it was so easy to just like bop over to Savannah for two nights, see a show and then come back. I'm like, we need to be doing more spontaneous things like that. Before we're like, we have kids and all this stuff. I'm like, it was just so easy and so fun, but we had the best time.

Speaker 1:
[20:18] Oh my gosh. What was the show like? It was just like stand up comedy or what?

Speaker 2:
[20:23] It was like stand up comedy, but also just very funny. They were just like, it was like stand up comedy, but also a lot of very funny entertaining elements as well.

Speaker 1:
[20:35] They played piano.

Speaker 2:
[20:36] Yeah. They sang. Steve Martin said, before I was a comedian, I was a ventriloquist, let me get my puppet, and out rolls a table with a puppet and it's Martin Short's face. Martin and him are talking, but he's the putt.

Speaker 1:
[20:50] OK, that's funny.

Speaker 2:
[20:51] Yeah, like they were doing very funny bits like that.

Speaker 1:
[20:53] So anyway, did it remind you of us on tour kind of because it was two best friends?

Speaker 2:
[20:58] Exactly. And they're called the Dukes of Funny Town. And I thought that is us. We are the Dukes of Funny Town, you and I.

Speaker 1:
[21:05] Of course. Unfortunately, we won't be going on tour, but maybe when we are 80.

Speaker 2:
[21:11] Yeah, 80 and 76, because that's exactly right. We're four years apart. Actually, I'm Steve Martin. You're Martin Short.

Speaker 1:
[21:19] Of course.

Speaker 2:
[21:19] And we'll do it again.

Speaker 1:
[21:21] And we'll do it again. We'll be back on stage.

Speaker 2:
[21:24] Yes.

Speaker 1:
[21:24] Just a few decades.

Speaker 2:
[21:26] OK, talk about Bieber Chela.

Speaker 1:
[21:27] Poppity pop pop. It's time to pop.

Speaker 2:
[21:30] Pop pop pop pop Chela.

Speaker 1:
[21:32] Bieber Chela. Wow.

Speaker 2:
[21:34] What are your thoughts?

Speaker 1:
[21:35] What a time to be alive.

Speaker 2:
[21:36] I mean, nothing like it.

Speaker 1:
[21:40] I'm just happy for him that he got up on stage and just had a great time.

Speaker 2:
[21:46] Right.

Speaker 1:
[21:46] That's all you could ask for for him, really, because he's just been through the wringer of.

Speaker 2:
[21:50] Hell and back, some may say.

Speaker 1:
[21:52] I know.

Speaker 2:
[21:53] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[21:53] So I saw someone said he gave us his childhood. He doesn't owe us anything. Oh, man, that's beautiful. And I said, now that's a rule to live by. No, but I didn't really see it very much. Like I didn't watch it, the full performance, but all the clips I've seen, I've loved it. And I've had his music in my head. I was going to sing it, but I decided not to. In my head, like it's just on repeat. It's almost like I was there in Coachella.

Speaker 2:
[22:23] What song specifically is resonating with you these days with Bieberchella?

Speaker 1:
[22:28] Did you see the one that was like, Haley, hallelujah.

Speaker 2:
[22:35] No, Haley, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:
[22:37] Wait, I have to play this. Wait, will we get copyrighted?

Speaker 2:
[22:40] Yeah, maybe so.

Speaker 1:
[22:42] Well, I'm going to do it anyways, because I want you to hear it.

Speaker 2:
[22:45] Do five seconds.

Speaker 1:
[22:46] I think it's a new song. No, it can't be.

Speaker 2:
[22:48] Hey, Haley, hallelujah, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:
[22:50] It's like sunshine, hallelujah. Is it? Everything hallelujah.

Speaker 2:
[23:00] Wow, that's spiritual.

Speaker 1:
[23:03] He is spiritual.

Speaker 2:
[23:04] He is.

Speaker 1:
[23:04] So get with it. I mean-

Speaker 2:
[23:09] I mean, glory to God.

Speaker 1:
[23:11] I mean, if you see swag in the dictionary, it's Justin Bieber. Like his aura is crazy. He do be aura farming.

Speaker 2:
[23:18] He do be aura farming and he do be clocking.

Speaker 1:
[23:20] He put that phrase on the map for us. And for that, I'm so thankful. Is it clocking to you that he's standing on this?

Speaker 2:
[23:26] Is it not clocking to you that Bieberchella was a masterpiece?

Speaker 1:
[23:29] Do you know how much he got paid?

Speaker 2:
[23:31] 10 million.

Speaker 1:
[23:32] Was Sabrina Carpenter also a headliner?

Speaker 2:
[23:34] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[23:35] So basically Coachella has two headliners.

Speaker 2:
[23:37] I don't know how many headliners. How many? I don't even know anything. You went. How many nights is Coachella? Two or three. So there's probably three headliners.

Speaker 1:
[23:44] Okay.

Speaker 2:
[23:44] No one's talking about the other, though, unfortunately.

Speaker 1:
[23:46] But who headlined when I went?

Speaker 2:
[23:48] Billie Eilish.

Speaker 1:
[23:49] I don't think she was the headliner. I was front row in the pit.

Speaker 2:
[23:53] At night. Whoever plays at night is the headliner.

Speaker 1:
[23:56] Oh, then it was Billie Eilish.

Speaker 2:
[23:57] Yeah, exactly. You know nothing. And you've been. How sad.

Speaker 1:
[24:01] How pathetic. In 2019, it was Childish Gambino.

Speaker 2:
[24:06] I don't know who that is.

Speaker 1:
[24:06] Didn't see it. Taiman Pala.

Speaker 2:
[24:09] Don't know who that is.

Speaker 1:
[24:09] Didn't see it. And then it says that Ariana Grande did. There's no way I would have known my queen was there. That didn't happen.

Speaker 2:
[24:17] I don't know. Well, I guess, you know, you were lied to while you were there.

Speaker 1:
[24:21] Did I not go in 2019?

Speaker 2:
[24:23] Okay. Rate these people from favorite to least favorite.

Speaker 1:
[24:28] Okay.

Speaker 2:
[24:28] Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, Carrie Underwood, Justin Bieber.

Speaker 1:
[24:34] Just rate them.

Speaker 2:
[24:35] Rate your favorite to least favorite because I know you love all of them. Who's your favorite out of all four of those?

Speaker 1:
[24:41] Harry Styles.

Speaker 2:
[24:42] Okay. Second?

Speaker 1:
[24:44] Ariana.

Speaker 2:
[24:45] Third?

Speaker 1:
[24:46] Butterflies.

Speaker 3:
[24:49] Who was the third?

Speaker 1:
[24:50] Justin Bieber.

Speaker 2:
[24:51] And then fourth would be Carrie?

Speaker 1:
[24:52] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[24:52] Okay. Some hearts?

Speaker 1:
[24:54] I stand Carrie Underwood for a moment there, but then I stopped.

Speaker 2:
[24:58] Really? What was it about her?

Speaker 1:
[25:00] No beef, no beef. She's my neighbor, but. I don't know. Like she hasn't really done anything that has really resonated with me recently.

Speaker 2:
[25:10] Really?

Speaker 1:
[25:10] Yeah. And like I don't really watch American Idol and yeah.

Speaker 2:
[25:15] It's more so the lack of new songs, not so much a lack of like love.

Speaker 1:
[25:20] Not like her heart or anything, but Ariana is going on tour and the tickets are already sold out. So that's unfortunate for me.

Speaker 2:
[25:30] Really?

Speaker 1:
[25:31] Yeah. She's just doing a tiny tour.

Speaker 2:
[25:33] A teeny tiny.

Speaker 1:
[25:34] And then I'm going to see Harry in Madison Square Garden, of course.

Speaker 2:
[25:38] Right. If you guys want to see Kristin with Harry, go to Madison Square Garden this summer, August.

Speaker 1:
[25:43] Okay. Now, who would you rank? How would you rank that list? Because you don't really love any of those people.

Speaker 2:
[25:50] Not really. I mean, maybe Harry first.

Speaker 1:
[25:56] Good.

Speaker 2:
[25:56] Yeah. Harry first, Carrie second, Justin third, Ariana fourth.

Speaker 1:
[26:02] Really?

Speaker 2:
[26:02] But out of all of those people, I only listen to Harry.

Speaker 1:
[26:05] Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2:
[26:06] But to be honest, I really don't listen to that much music. And I'm going to sound like a goody-to-shoe when I say this, but I listen to like worship or like instrumental music. I don't really listen to like-

Speaker 1:
[26:16] That's always what's on in your background.

Speaker 2:
[26:18] It's kind of boring. Or I like like old timey music, Frank Sinatra. You know, that style.

Speaker 1:
[26:25] You're so sweet.

Speaker 2:
[26:26] I know. Isn't that so sweet?

Speaker 1:
[26:28] Meanwhile, I'm listening to Seven Rings by Ariana Grande, trying to pick chains up for school. My wrist is popping.

Speaker 2:
[26:36] You want it?

Speaker 1:
[26:37] I bought it. I see it. I like it. I want it. I got it. What a great little poppity pop update. If you were to have been invited by a brand to go to Coachella, would you have gone? Yeah, like say Caraway took us to Coachella.

Speaker 2:
[26:54] If Caraway asked me to go to Coachella, I would absolutely go.

Speaker 1:
[26:59] Caraway, non-toxic cookware, made modern and taking our butts straight to the pit.

Speaker 2:
[27:08] Caraway, come on, take us to Coachella next year and we will take your pots and pans into the pit.

Speaker 1:
[27:15] We're ready for you, Coachella. I might go to Coachella next year. Just switch it up.

Speaker 2:
[27:21] I like that.

Speaker 1:
[27:22] Yeah. Were we friends when I went to Coachella?

Speaker 2:
[27:25] We were friends, Kristin, when you went to Coachella.

Speaker 1:
[27:27] Good. Good. Okay. I have a few theories to run by you. It's kind of along the same lines of today's podcast episode topic, which is rules we live by.

Speaker 2:
[27:37] Right.

Speaker 1:
[27:38] I have some theories to live by.

Speaker 2:
[27:41] Okay.

Speaker 1:
[27:41] And I want you to tell me what your thoughts are.

Speaker 2:
[27:45] Love it.

Speaker 1:
[27:46] So the Burnt Toast Theory. Have you heard of this? It's a theory that every time you burn your toast, miss your bus or get stuck in traffic, you're actually being delayed for a reason. Even if you don't get to where you wanted, you'll always end up where you're supposed to be. Trust the process.

Speaker 2:
[28:02] I actually agree with the Burnt Toast Theory fully.

Speaker 1:
[28:05] Yeah. So like, say you can't find your keys for 10 minutes. Like that was you being protected, not getting in a car wreck or something, you know? Burnt Toast Theory.

Speaker 2:
[28:14] I'm into it.

Speaker 1:
[28:14] Because I really like the Ostrich Theory, and I've been using that a lot.

Speaker 2:
[28:18] I know. You use the Ostrich Theory daily.

Speaker 1:
[28:21] Jon's like, are you ostriching?

Speaker 2:
[28:22] Like, of course. Are you an ostrich today?

Speaker 1:
[28:24] The Invisible Guest Theory. At almost every party or gathering you walk into, most people are not thinking about you. They see you as an invisible guest because everyone is just trapped in their own head. Don't live like you're under a microscope. That makes me feel better about just everything.

Speaker 2:
[28:47] I believe that theory. No one cares about you when you walk into the room. Everyone cares about you, first of all. But when you walk into the room, the only person that's thinking about you is you.

Speaker 1:
[28:59] Yeah. You don't have to be so self-conscious because all the things you're thinking about, people aren't noticing, most likely. The Invisible Guest Theory.

Speaker 2:
[29:09] Okay. Agree, agree. Two for two.

Speaker 1:
[29:11] The 90 Second Theory. Neuroscience discovered that an emotion only lasts 90 seconds chemically in your body. After that, if you're still feeling it, you're the one keeping it alive. So learn to let it go, especially the bad emotions.

Speaker 2:
[29:27] I love it.

Speaker 1:
[29:28] I do too.

Speaker 2:
[29:29] And I hear it. I like it. I agree with it. I got it.

Speaker 1:
[29:33] The 90 Second Theory. Okay. The Sunflower Theory. When your mood drops, go outside and turn your face to the sky for 60 seconds, eyes closed, slow breaths and natural light exposure signals to your brain to regulate your cortisol and reset your nervous system. What's that got to do with sunflower, though?

Speaker 2:
[29:53] Well, a sunflower is always looking to the sun. Oh, as you know, as a god.

Speaker 1:
[29:59] I love that if I wake up in the morning and the sun is shining and I just like let the sun engulf my face, I just feel so much better.

Speaker 2:
[30:10] It's scientifically proven that sunrise light on your face because there's no type of cancerous rays or anything. It's like the most healthy sunlight you can get is the first 20 to 30 minutes of the sun.

Speaker 1:
[30:26] Wow, it should be called the early bird theory.

Speaker 2:
[30:29] Probably so.

Speaker 1:
[30:31] Next one, 10 more to go. I'm just kidding. This is the last one. The unfinished room theory. Now, this one's kind of mic dropping. Everyone in your life builds a room inside of you. Some decorate it. Some leave mid remodel with a mess. Even when the person leaves, the typo leaves, so it says in the F's. Even when someone leaves, the room stays and it quietly affects how you love, trust and attach. But only you decide what stays and what doesn't. It's still your house. So build it how you want it to be.

Speaker 2:
[31:13] Well.

Speaker 1:
[31:13] Well.

Speaker 2:
[31:15] I think that is partially true.

Speaker 1:
[31:17] It's kind of saying everyone shapes you good or bad, but it's up to you to really shape the person that you want to be.

Speaker 2:
[31:26] The house you want to be.

Speaker 1:
[31:34] Today's episode is brought to you by Caraway. I was just cooking dinner the other night using, of course, my Caraway pots and pans. And honestly, they never get old. Like, I never take for granted how beautiful my Caraway pans are. I never get over the organization. I love that I am never worried about them getting scuffed and scratched and toxins leaching into our food because they are non-toxic cookware with a beautiful ceramic coating. And they just make cooking more fun, more pleasant. And Mother's Day is coming up, but I think a great idea for a gift for any mom out there would be new kitchenware from Caraway. I personally would love to receive a tiny pan from Caraway.

Speaker 2:
[32:20] Ooh, the tiny pan is good.

Speaker 1:
[32:21] I know, I don't have the tiny pan and I've been wanting the tiny pan, so I'm just throwing that out there. Caraway's food storage is amazing. They also have their glass airtight storage containers, which my friends always try to steal from my kitchen. And I always tell them, make sure you bring that back, because that is my favorite little storage box. They also have knives and utensil sets. They also have tons of beautiful bakeware. There's really something for everyone. So right now, you can save up to $230 on the 12-piece cookware set versus buying the products individually. Speaker 2:
[33:19] Today's episode of That's The Point Podcast is brought to you by Premier Protein. And what better time to be talking about protein that is also Premier. Then kicking off 2026 with strong intentions to up our protein game. Premier Protein is so delicious. My personal favorite is the chocolate flavor. I also love the caramel and the vanilla and strawberry, but chocolate always hits for me. You bet your bottom dollar. I take that sucker to the gym. It's easy on the go, throw it in my gym bag. You guys already know this is going to be the year where I get in the best shape of my life. And thankfully, Premier Protein is going to help me out with that. What about you, Chris?

Speaker 1:
[34:00] I love Premier Protein and I actually have been having them for years. My dad actually has always loved Premier Protein. He would always make me the chocolate one with a little bit of frozen banana blended up. And it is so good. With 30 grams of protein and tons of delicious flavors, Premier Protein isn't just for those who are after fitness. It's those who get after life.

Speaker 2:
[34:25] Oh, I love that.

Speaker 1:
[34:27] So if you need a little bit of a healthier choice for the morning, definitely check out Premier Protein. It's not just for intense gym sessions. It's just a great, healthy, quick option. You can find your favorite flavor at premierprotein.com. That's premierprotein.com. Or you can also find them at Amazon, Walmart, and other major retailers. Today's episode is sponsored by Cotton. I've talked about this many times this year, but I am trying to become a lot more aware of the fabrics that I'm buying, whether it be for my clothes, bedding, tablecloths, any of that kind of stuff. And my favorite to check for the tag for is 100% Cotton because I know that it will be so durable, also so breathable, versatile. It doesn't fill and it actually keeps its shape. I just love anything that is made with 100% Cotton because I feel like it's not only the most comfortable, but I know that it's gonna last longer than when I'm buying clothes that are mixed with synthetic fibers. And there's actually so many different variants of cotton in your clothing. There's poplin, denim, there's jersey, there's so many things. Like probably your favorite clothes, if you look on the tag, are made with 100% cotton. Cotton is naturally hypoallergenic and less likely to irritate your skin as well compared to synthetic fibers like polyester. I've been really trying to curate my wardrobe to being all natural fibers and it is making a huge difference in the way that my clothes are wearing and lasting. So I definitely recommend when you are shopping next time, check the tags and see what material you are buying because it makes all the difference. Cotton is the fabric of our lives and you can learn more at thefabricofourlives.com. It could be called the personal contractor theory.

Speaker 2:
[36:30] I like it.

Speaker 1:
[36:31] I do too.

Speaker 2:
[36:32] And I agree, and honestly, all of those theories, I would stand on.

Speaker 1:
[36:35] Really?

Speaker 2:
[36:36] Business with.

Speaker 1:
[36:37] Yeah, they're all clocking to me.

Speaker 2:
[36:39] I'm clocked by each one of those, and I like.

Speaker 1:
[36:41] What was your favorite one?

Speaker 2:
[36:42] Probably the first one, the burnt toast.

Speaker 1:
[36:46] Me too.

Speaker 2:
[36:47] But also, I feel like everyone agrees with that one. The most unique one was, what was the second one?

Speaker 1:
[36:55] Invisible Guest Theory.

Speaker 2:
[36:56] Yeah, that one. That was pretty good.

Speaker 1:
[36:57] That's the one you like the most?

Speaker 2:
[36:59] I don't know. I like them all.

Speaker 1:
[37:00] I like the Invisible Guest Theory.

Speaker 2:
[37:02] Yeah, you're liking whatever I'm liking, it sounds like too. Theories, theories, rules we live by.

Speaker 1:
[37:13] Are you ready?

Speaker 2:
[37:13] Am I ready, Kris?

Speaker 1:
[37:14] I'm so excited to hear these rules that you live by, because your rules very much are different than my rules.

Speaker 2:
[37:19] I love rules. First of all, let's talk about rules, breakdown rules.

Speaker 1:
[37:23] Okay, yes, I am an extreme rule follower.

Speaker 2:
[37:27] Okay.

Speaker 1:
[37:27] I like rules. I feel like they create structure. I don't like to get in trouble, so I follow rules.

Speaker 2:
[37:35] Yep. Are rules meant to be broken?

Speaker 1:
[37:39] No.

Speaker 2:
[37:40] Really?

Speaker 1:
[37:41] Not for me.

Speaker 2:
[37:42] They are for me.

Speaker 1:
[37:43] But I married someone that lives to break rules, so it's a good balance.

Speaker 2:
[37:47] I feel like rules that don't make sense are meant for a little bit of a push open, for me.

Speaker 1:
[37:52] Really? See, to me, you come across as very much a rule follower.

Speaker 2:
[37:56] I am a rule follower, for sure. But I think every once in a while, breaking a rule is a little bit of a freedom.

Speaker 1:
[38:03] Can you give me an example of a rule that you've broken before?

Speaker 2:
[38:06] Sure. When I used to do photography, I used to trespass on property, and they would come up to me sometimes and be like, hey, so sorry. And it's like, oh, I'm so sorry. We're just shooting for X, Y, and Z. Is that okay? And they're like, oh, yeah, no worries.

Speaker 1:
[38:23] Oh, wow.

Speaker 2:
[38:23] So like little things like that, certain, like little rules I like to break. Big rules never break.

Speaker 1:
[38:29] Like killing.

Speaker 2:
[38:31] Exactly. Lying. That is a rule. A rule I live by is never lie, like our book by Frieda McFadden.

Speaker 1:
[38:38] Good one. Speaking of, we're about to record that episode with Cece for Patreon.

Speaker 2:
[38:44] Yeah, it will be a live book club chat. You can watch on Patreon. Okay, so why don't you kick us off and we'll do a little ping pong. I fear mine are a little bit more serious and Joe will create some reels with mine with very sentimental music that's gonna inspire people.

Speaker 1:
[39:01] Okay.

Speaker 2:
[39:01] And yours will have like kind of clownish music.

Speaker 1:
[39:03] The final will be like this, like, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.

Speaker 2:
[39:05] Ding-a-ding-a-ding-a-doo, da-ga-doo, da-ga-doo.

Speaker 1:
[39:09] Okay. Rules I live by, no budget for healthy food.

Speaker 2:
[39:15] Ooh, man, I wish I lived by that rule.

Speaker 1:
[39:18] I will always spend the extra money to buy the organic vegetables, the farm-fed milk, all of that.

Speaker 2:
[39:26] Farm-fed milk, okay. Question on that.

Speaker 1:
[39:28] Okay.

Speaker 2:
[39:33] I love clown eggs, rule I live by Costco. I always get them there. And then also chicken and beef. I'm now doing organic because all of the additives and the steroids. Like I never used to, I just would go for like the cheaper option.

Speaker 1:
[39:48] Don't say Purdue, Tyson.

Speaker 2:
[39:51] I would.

Speaker 1:
[39:52] I haven't bought Tyson or Purdue in many, many decades.

Speaker 2:
[39:56] Good for you, Purdue.

Speaker 1:
[39:57] And that goes back to my rule. No budget for healthy food.

Speaker 2:
[40:00] OK, but if I'm going to invest in one other thing, so I'm doing my eggs and my meat, what am I going to spend more money on for organic?

Speaker 1:
[40:10] Yeah, organic produce.

Speaker 2:
[40:12] Really?

Speaker 1:
[40:12] There's the toxic top five. Have you heard of that?

Speaker 2:
[40:14] No, no.

Speaker 1:
[40:15] OK, so basically there are certain foods that are sprayed with more toxic, harsh pesticides.

Speaker 2:
[40:23] Read them off.

Speaker 1:
[40:24] OK, it's actually called the Dirty Dozen, not the Toxic Top Five.

Speaker 2:
[40:31] OK, go for it, Dirty Dozen.

Speaker 1:
[40:33] Strawberries are ranked number one for pesticide residue. So always buying organic and washing really well. OK, very important. Spinach, extremely high levels of residue from pesticides.

Speaker 2:
[40:48] Now, if I buy bagged spinach, do I still wash it?

Speaker 1:
[40:51] I would, I would.

Speaker 2:
[40:53] It's OK.

Speaker 1:
[40:53] Apples sprayed heavily during growing and storage, and the wax coating traps the residue.

Speaker 2:
[41:00] Shoot, my honey, Chris, need to be washed. Go on.

Speaker 1:
[41:03] Organic and washed. Peaches and nectarine.

Speaker 2:
[41:06] Seasonal.

Speaker 1:
[41:07] OK, they absorb pesticides easily. Grapes often contain multiple pesticide residues.

Speaker 2:
[41:14] OK. She got a text. Hold on.

Speaker 1:
[41:18] No, I didn't. OK, so I already gave you the toxic top five, but and then we have bell peppers, cherries, blueberries, green beans and potatoes. These are all the ones that tend to have the most pesticide residue. And the surface of them is more porous, which has more absorption. So that's where you should prioritize organic. OK, do you like that?

Speaker 2:
[41:44] I love it and I'm going to be doing it. Oh, thank you, Kristin.

Speaker 1:
[41:48] I love changing your life.

Speaker 2:
[41:49] OK, for me, rules I live by. I've said this before, but I had to say it again because somebody told me they always think about me when they do this. I make my bed.

Speaker 1:
[41:59] I wish I would have said I know you're going to say make your bed.

Speaker 2:
[42:03] Yep, I make my bed the second I get out of it. And it's a rule that I live by every day. I don't go to the bathroom. I don't touch my phone. I make my bed immediately and instantly my room is clean. Okay. And like I said two years ago, and people keep quoting me. What could I say?

Speaker 1:
[42:22] What can you say? You're a quotable guy.

Speaker 2:
[42:24] Exactly.

Speaker 1:
[42:26] Don't let one bad thing make your whole day a bad day.

Speaker 2:
[42:32] Pretty good. Deep, girl.

Speaker 1:
[42:34] Thanks. Oh, I get deeper too. So just get prepared.

Speaker 2:
[42:38] Okay. Be prepared. Never text a serious conversation. Always pick up the phone or meet in person.

Speaker 1:
[42:48] Jon, yes.

Speaker 2:
[42:50] Yes.

Speaker 1:
[42:52] Yes. I love that. So many things are misconstrued and misunderstood over text.

Speaker 2:
[42:58] And nobody hears the tone in which you're speaking over text. If I said, it really offended me when you did that.

Speaker 1:
[43:04] It's giving keyboard warrior. Like you can type all these nasty things.

Speaker 2:
[43:07] Oh, I love.

Speaker 1:
[43:08] Or do an argument over text. It's like, just pick up the phone. And if you're even the most brave girl ever, FaceTime. Oh, shoot. If you're brave, brave, brave, meet in person over a cup of coffee.

Speaker 2:
[43:19] Yeah, love it. Okay, next one.

Speaker 1:
[43:21] Put my oxygen mask on first.

Speaker 2:
[43:23] What does that mean? Go ahead.

Speaker 1:
[43:26] You know how on the airplane, it's like put your oxygen mask on first before you can take care of the others.

Speaker 2:
[43:31] Hey, this is deep.

Speaker 1:
[43:33] Because the little are only little for so little. I can't pour from an empty cup, especially now that I'm a mom. I realized this wholeheartedly. And it's important that I'm taking care of mind, spirit, soul, body.

Speaker 2:
[43:50] Preach.

Speaker 1:
[43:51] So that I can be the best wife, mom, friend I can be.

Speaker 2:
[43:55] She's got her oxygen today and every day.

Speaker 1:
[43:58] So what does my oxygen mask look like?

Speaker 2:
[44:01] Please.

Speaker 1:
[44:02] Reading my Bible and spending quiet time with the Lord, prioritizing exercise.

Speaker 2:
[44:08] Yes.

Speaker 1:
[44:08] That's huge for me.

Speaker 2:
[44:10] And kudos to you. You have been on your fitness grind.

Speaker 1:
[44:13] Yes, I have.

Speaker 2:
[44:14] Yes, yes, yes.

Speaker 1:
[44:16] And also, yeah, that's all physical is like eating healthy, working out, all of these things.

Speaker 2:
[44:23] Going out and soaking in the sun, looking up.

Speaker 1:
[44:26] Looking up at the sun. And also, another way that I put my oxygen mask on first is spending quality time with Marcus, like going on date nights once a week and prioritizing seeing my friends.

Speaker 2:
[44:42] I love it.

Speaker 1:
[44:43] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[44:44] Very good.

Speaker 1:
[44:44] Thanks.

Speaker 2:
[44:45] OK, having an ongoing prayer list. This is one thing that I started doing maybe like 10 years ago. And I just always have a prayer list for people that I feel like have been highlighted to me that I want to pray for. Certain things in my own life that I want to see change or things in. And then it's great to see because as you're praying for those things and you see those prayers come to fruition or like come through, I can cross them off and add other things. But so many times it's like, oh, I need to pray for them or I need to pray for that. But like every day when I take time to pray and I see that list, it reminds me to pray for certain things. And I love it.

Speaker 1:
[45:23] I love that.

Speaker 2:
[45:24] Yeah.

Speaker 1:
[45:26] Jump in the water and get your hair wet.

Speaker 2:
[45:28] Okay, Carrie Underwood. I like it. There must be something in the water.

Speaker 1:
[45:35] I learned this from my sister. She's very adamant about this rule in life. Say you're in Croatia and the water is freezing and it's like, I don't want to get in and I don't want to get my hair wet. It's always a better choice to just jump in and get your hair wet. Jump in the freezing water, experience life, live, it's giving live life to the fullest.

Speaker 2:
[46:00] It's giving the YOLO theory.

Speaker 1:
[46:02] It's giving YOLO, Jason Derulo.

Speaker 2:
[46:06] Jason Derulo.

Speaker 1:
[46:08] But there's never been a time where I've jumped in the water and regretted it.

Speaker 2:
[46:12] That is true.

Speaker 1:
[46:13] Yeah. Continue.

Speaker 2:
[46:15] Okay. My next one is, always be generous. Just like you learned this from Ashlyn, I learned this from my dad. My dad, we're not talking just monetarily speaking, but just like be generous with your time, with your action, with giving to others. If that's like, you know, blessing them with buying their dinner, or you picking up the Uber and not splitting it, or like calling someone and just giving them time. Like he always says, I want people to remember me by my generosity. And that has always stuck with me. It's like, I always want to be a generous person to strangers and to the people that I love in my life. And I think generosity goes such a long way.

Speaker 1:
[46:55] I would say both of your parents are so generous, not only, yeah, with like the things that you would think off the top of your head generosity, but their time, like they have so many guests and I just know they just pour in to every single one of them. I love that about your parents.

Speaker 2:
[47:16] I do too. And Fifi's coming in. No, come in.

Speaker 1:
[47:19] Linda! Do you think they can see her or no?

Speaker 2:
[47:23] No, they can't see her, but Fifi and Marcus have just entered the chat.

Speaker 1:
[47:28] You know, Fifi was our co-host for like three months.

Speaker 2:
[47:32] Wow.

Speaker 1:
[47:32] You want to say something to the microphone? Come here.

Speaker 2:
[47:36] She says, I don't know. Look.

Speaker 1:
[47:38] You want to say something? Say, say, I'm Moana.

Speaker 2:
[47:41] Here. Moana. No. Can I say Moana, Moana?

Speaker 1:
[47:45] Okay, go. We're in a deep part of her.

Speaker 2:
[47:48] We love it. Are you kidding?

Speaker 1:
[47:49] I love you, Fifi. Oh.

Speaker 2:
[47:53] Mommy.

Speaker 1:
[47:54] Oh, Mommy.

Speaker 2:
[47:55] Oh. She's so cute. That child is the most gorgeous little child.

Speaker 1:
[48:00] She's been very mommy. Like, if I walk into the room, mommy. And I kind of love it. Okay. Our habits define our future.

Speaker 2:
[48:11] Oh, Lord Jesus, get her a pulpit.

Speaker 1:
[48:14] And I don't need to elaborate on that.

Speaker 2:
[48:16] I love that. You're going to love this one. Ready? Take a New York trip once a year. Period. And that's a rule I've lived by since 2019.

Speaker 1:
[48:26] That is an amazing rule. I'm going to add that to my list.

Speaker 2:
[48:28] Good. And I don't need to elaborate. Y'all already know. We've talked about it enough. Get to New York once a year and you'll be better.

Speaker 1:
[48:36] Another rule I live by. I'll get it done somehow.

Speaker 2:
[48:40] Wait, say that again?

Speaker 1:
[48:41] I'll magically get it done somehow.

Speaker 2:
[48:44] Yeah, that's a horrible rule.

Speaker 1:
[48:48] This is what I tell myself when I have a huge workload or things that are so daunting to me. I just tell myself, I'll magically get it done somehow. It always gets done.

Speaker 2:
[49:00] And that's when you turn into an ostrich as well.

Speaker 1:
[49:02] Yeah. Oh, great. Here comes Cece. We're just totally interrupted.

Speaker 2:
[49:07] Oh my gosh, I'm so dead.

Speaker 1:
[49:09] Wow.

Speaker 2:
[49:10] Your podcast without me. No, no, no.

Speaker 1:
[49:12] We had to do a whole episode.

Speaker 2:
[49:14] Oh, no. Yeah, we're. I do. I do. 25 minutes will be live, so be ready.

Speaker 1:
[49:22] Do you want to come say one rule you live by?

Speaker 2:
[49:24] Yeah, come in.

Speaker 1:
[49:26] Mom, mom, no one's going to hear you.

Speaker 2:
[49:29] So much stuff going on.

Speaker 1:
[49:31] One thing. OK, this is new. You ready? I don't think the world is ready. OK, if they won't do it, if somebody won't do the same for me, I ain't doing it for them. Thank you. That was a new one, though.

Speaker 2:
[49:49] Oh, that's a new one? Oh, good, last 30 minutes, I love it.

Speaker 1:
[49:56] How sweet is she?

Speaker 2:
[49:57] She's an angel of the world. Okay, I love that. Surrounding myself with people better than me. That's a rule. I'm always trying to surround-

Speaker 1:
[50:07] Living proof right here.

Speaker 2:
[50:08] Oh yeah, look, I'm looking at her. Someone who's better than me, someone who encourages me, someone who makes me want to be a better person, because you and Marcus have set the stage.

Speaker 1:
[50:19] You know what I'm saying?

Speaker 2:
[50:21] No, but I'm always trying to surround myself with people who I look up to, people who inspire me, people who are going to push me closer to my goals, to my future. Cause if I'm just surrounding myself with people that suck, I'm gonna suck.

Speaker 1:
[50:34] Yeah, and negative people.

Speaker 2:
[50:36] Ooh, no, no, no. I ain't got no time for negative people. They say, what is it? It's like, you are the closest.

Speaker 1:
[50:42] You are your three closest friends.

Speaker 2:
[50:44] Yeah, or 10, something like that.

Speaker 1:
[50:46] Let whoever think whatever. Ooh. That was actually on my ins and outs list. In was letting whoever think whatever. Your perception of me is a reflection of you. And I've been living by that this year. And wow, my life is bountiful.

Speaker 2:
[51:07] Oh yeah, you are bounty with tulips. Save and invest more than you spend on yourself, not including bills. So if you are spending more money on yourself than you are with investing or saving, you got the math wrong. Next.

Speaker 1:
[51:27] My last one. Now, I didn't make this up, but I love it. Slow is the fastest way to get to where you want to be.

Speaker 3:
[51:37] I love that.

Speaker 1:
[51:39] Isn't that just so deep?

Speaker 2:
[51:42] It is actually very deep if you dissect, which we're not going to, but it is very deep.

Speaker 1:
[51:46] Slow and steady wins the race, everyone.

Speaker 2:
[51:49] And that is so true. And it's, I can attest many times in my life, when I just take my time, it's always better.

Speaker 1:
[51:54] Yep.

Speaker 2:
[51:55] Okay, so I have one more from me, and then one more from Marcus. He and I went for a drive earlier today, and I said, give me one, Marcus. So my last one will be get to Taco Bell once a month and get the Baja Blast.

Speaker 1:
[52:07] Get to Taco Bell.

Speaker 2:
[52:08] Get to Taco Bell once a month and have the Baja Blast. Okay, and then Marcus, I said, Marcus, what is one rule you live by? And I'll talk about on the podcast. He said, always buy the tool, never rent it. If you can help it, those are his words. And then he said, instead of hiring the job, buy the tools and learn how to do it yourself. And that is actually very powerful.

Speaker 1:
[52:32] It's very biblical.

Speaker 2:
[52:33] It is very biblical.

Speaker 1:
[52:33] It's like teach a man to fish. He'll have food for a lifetime.

Speaker 2:
[52:36] Exactly. So if it's going to cost you more to hire a guy to do it, then it is just to buy the tools and invest into your own self. And then you always have those tools. Why wouldn't you do that? And that's Marcus Johns.

Speaker 1:
[52:49] Spoken as a true farmer himself.

Speaker 2:
[52:52] Exactly.

Speaker 1:
[52:54] Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, gorgeous.

Speaker 2:
[52:59] I really like that episode. And you know what? I really I feel like we've talked so we've talked for years on the podcast about things we hate or that we love or that we do and we don't do. And so I think we both pulled very different things than what we've talked about before, minus the bad part, because I had to say you're a loser if you don't make it. But overall, very good lists.

Speaker 1:
[53:23] Very good.

Speaker 2:
[53:23] And rules of yours, I will now implement into my own life.

Speaker 1:
[53:27] And yours of yours, me too.

Speaker 2:
[53:29] Well, thank you.

Speaker 1:
[53:32] Wait.

Speaker 2:
[53:33] What?

Speaker 1:
[53:34] I'm thinking of that Spotify comment I just read that said, wow, Kristin was so well spoken on today's episode. Can't say that for most when I just said yours and yours and yours. I'm like, Ashley Smith, you slayed with that one actually.

Speaker 2:
[53:48] Yeah, honestly. Wow.

Speaker 1:
[53:50] What a great episode. We hope this left you feeling uplifted and smiling. If you want to go over to wherever you're listening and give us a little rating and review, we would highly appreciate that. It is just five stars, nothing more, nothing less.

Speaker 2:
[54:06] And that's a rule that you have to do if you listen to this podcast, you better go rate.

Speaker 1:
[54:11] That's the only rule of the podcast.

Speaker 2:
