Speaker 1:
[00:02] Welcome to The Bedros Keuilian Show. Alright, this is why you're not happy in life, even though there's so many great things that are happening that you should be happy for. Guys, welcome to The Bedros Keuilian Show. My name is Bedros Keuilian, and this episode is about getting your ass happy so that you can stop dwelling on the stuff that you can't control. And so before we talk about happiness, let me just catch you up because a lot of you have been commenting in Instagram saying, B, you're getting leaner. As I told you guys a couple episodes ago, I'm on this quest to go down from 233 pounds as of January 5th of 2026, that way 223. I am on my way to 205 to 210. And I want to hover around 10% body fat. I'm doing that for multiple reasons. I'm 51 years old, and obviously, I don't want to carry all this extra weight, even though it makes me stronger. It's a lot of weight on my joints, you know, ankles and knees and hips. Also for jujitsu, I found that the right balance of strength and speed makes me a lot more deadly since I lack the skills. I'm only just three years into jujitsu, so I'm good for where I am, but nowhere near the level of some of the guys that I roll with, which is a blessing because I get to learn from them. But the faster I get, the more opportunities I'll be able to take advantage of on the mats. And then of course, thirdly, you know, having extra weight, carrying extra weight, is a precursor to all cause morbidity, right? So basically everything, blood pressure, diabetes, everything is worse when you weigh more, even if some of that weight is muscle. And so I've gone from 233 pounds as of January 5th, and I was around 14.5% body fat to currently 217 pounds this morning, and 11.5% body fat. And again, the goal is 205 to 210. I'm guessing I'll probably land there somewhere in July of 2026, here in the next couple of few months, because I'm doing it slow and steady, and I'm trying to preserve as much muscle as possible while also getting rid of the body fat. So there you go, there's your update on my life. For those of you that wanted it, if you didn't want this, just fast forward, and here we are. All right, so let's talk about this thing that's kind of gotten under my skin, right? Why so many people are unhappy today, and I realize it's not that you're not a grateful person, or that you're not counting your blessings. You are, you are. The problem is, we all have access to way too much information, and our brain is not designed to handle this. That's the reality. Like, do you have any level of control over the war in Iran? Do you have any level of control over the Epstein files? Do you have any level of control and influence over inflation? Do you have any level of control over what happens across the planet? No. I like to think about, like, the cavemen. And when the cavemen were around, think about this, you know, maybe there's this river passing by, right? And this forest, and then there's all these caves, and this tribe lives in the various caves. Now on the other side of the hill, there's another tribe. That same river passes through, and there's forest with animals and stuff that you can eat, and there's caves, and that tribe just worries about what's happening with them. They have no idea what's happening to the dudes on the other side of the hill, right? Why? Because, well, there's no social media. There's no Fox News. There's no CNN. There's no newspaper, radio, or television. And because of that, their brains have been designed to only handle a certain amount of information. Their nervous system has been designed to handle a certain amount of information. Today, we are bombarded with so much fucking information, things that we have no control and influence over, yet it has control and influence over us, because it begins to agitate our fears and doubts and uncertainties. And you begin to have an opinion, because you get worked up by the influencer who supports this side versus that side. And they said the Epstein files were going to be released, and they didn't or partially released, and it's redacted, but not everything, but some of it. Okay, I get it. And while I certainly want those files released, and while I certainly want the war to stop, and I really want America first, and let's get our fucking taxes in order, and let's fix inflation, I want all of that as well, I realize I have no control and influence over that. Guys, quick interruption to The Bedros Keuilian Show. I want to tell you about the Man Up bundle that I have for you for $29, and 100% of it goes to Shriners Children's Hospital, where we're going to do a lot of good, and you're going to build an awesome business and have a great life because of it. And so what I do is I start thinking about my own personal locus of control, and that is what this episode is about today, and that is what I want to teach you because happiness is an inside job. In other words, if you can control the things that are within inside of your control, you will be happy. If you try and influence or think about or worry about or control things that are outside of your control, you're never going to find happiness, joy, bliss, content. Right? And you want to be content. So what do we do? Understand this. First of all, you're spending way too much time and energy on things that don't matter. Simple as that. Things that don't matter. Like, I think about this and at the end of the day, if I were to distill everything down to what matters to me, it's the four F-bombs from the project that we have. Right? At the project, we would teach faith, family, fitness, and finance. And if you get your faith, family, fitness, and finances squared away, you get the fifth and final F-bomb, which is fulfillment. Fulfillment is that, happiness. If you are fulfilled, if you have a sense of significance, right? Someone who's fulfilled has meaning and purpose and happiness, and they're excited to get up and do something. If you have fulfillment, that means you're excited to live the day, and you're excited to do things, and you don't care about the outside noise and distraction. Because quite honestly, all of those things that are outside of your locus of control are noise and distractions. The only thing that should really matter are your faith, family, fitness, and finance. So think about this, where your faith is concerned, what do you believe in? Is there a higher power that you believe in? Do you have faith in yourself? Some level of confidence. Have you started actually doing things, keeping promises to yourself? Because that is your reputation with yourself. Confidence is your credit score with yourself. And if you make a promise and don't keep that promise, you are eroding your confidence, you're eroding faith in yourself. You ever heard the term? I don't have faith in that guy. Another way of saying that is, I don't trust that person. Yet another way of saying that is, I'm not confident in that person. Faith, right? So, faith in a higher power, is there a higher power that you believe has charted out your life's course, and your job is to live that course, to be congruent with God's desire for your life? Maybe you don't believe in God, maybe you believe in the universe, or the Brahman, or universal consciousness, or whatever your God is. But if you can exercise faith, in other words, control what you can control, cope with what you can control, and concentrate on what counts, which is building confidence and knowing that there's a higher power that has a path for you. And as long as you try and figure out what that path is, your life's purpose and mission, that you will have a sense of fulfillment, and you execute on that every day, and then you just are blind to all the noise and distractions you will win in life. And if you've got faith covered, then the next thing is family, the people that you love, that you care for, that you have shared core values with, that you want to have experiences with, right? Think about that. If you have kids that are getting older, they're getting older, they're gonna fly the coop someday, and then what happens? You go, man, I wish we could have done this. I wish I could have done that. I wish I could have been more present. But instead, what were you doing? Distracted by all the noise. And I do believe, by the way, this distraction that they have, it's a plan. It's a plan. If we just go back six years, to March 16, 2020, when the plandemic was hit, think about how many forms of distractions have taken place since then. And in the last six years, how much more you could have achieved in life if you had focused on the things that actually matter. If you have executed on the plans that would have made you more money, given you more meaning, and developed your self-mastery. Right? And so I share that with you because there's always going to be the next Ukraine, the Israel, the Iran, the America First, ICE, the Epstein files, the inflation, the gas prices. Did we land on the moon? Did we not? Who gives a shit? Hey guys, quick interruption to The Bedros Keuilian Show. With hundreds of locations across the United States and Canada, we are helping people burn fat and build muscle while helping entrepreneurs like you develop business models that are successful and have reoccurring revenues. Now, back to the show. Who gives a shit whether we landed on the moon or not? And then the arguments I see on social media about it, that blows me away. Could you be that passionate about your family, about your kids, about their future, about the character that you're instilling in them, the core values that you're going to help build within them, to teach them to become assets to humanity, to let them feel loved and seen and understood by you? Have you considered that? Because you have so much energy, time, and focus going towards all these things that you can't control, that you are actively neglecting your kids, the people that you love, your spouse, your girl, your guy. And then soon you become ships passing in the night. Soon you're like, I don't understand. I have nothing in common with my kids. Well, why do you think that is? You were too lost in the things you couldn't control, and you had absolutely no involvement in the things that are within your control. And again, I share that with you because if you got faith and family covered, then you got your fitness and finances, right? When I say fitness, I don't just mean getting lean and jacked and juicy. I'm talking about mental fitness, emotional fitness, becoming stoic, healing, and getting fit and jacked. Becoming an actual example to your kids, to the people around you who you work with, who you work for, or who work for you, who can look up to you and go, that dude's congruent, consistent, shows up, does the work. Everybody knows when someone is dialed in and is doing the work and stacking wins every single day. That is fitness, in health, in mindset, in emotion. And if you're doing that, then start stacking money, my friends, or finances. That is super important because money is a superpower. And you're like, yeah, Bedros, but the inflation. Look, bro, you're spending three and a half hours a day on social media. Statistically speaking, the average American male spends three and a half hours a day on social media. And you ain't Mark Zuckerberg. You're not Elon Musk. You're some schlep who's scrolling up and down social media, trying to figure out how you can kill more time and do this tactical loitering where you act like you're busy. I'm learning about AI. I'm learning about the next nutrition program I should follow. I'm learning about how to train right. I'm learning about doing research. Shut the fuck up. You're learning how to waste time. You're learning how to get distracted. You're learning how to lose focus. And you're learning to lose access to your kids, man. You know, we run the Squire program, and I see so many dads who show up with their sons, and half of them always go like, man, I hope the Squire changes them. I hope to... Bro, this isn't a fucking boys, you know, academy to teach them hard lessons and change them. This is a father and son 10 to 12 hour experience where you can have a fun time with them. Hopefully, you've been doing this, building up to this point, and hopefully, you're going to continue to do this. Moving forward, my son and I have been having adventure since he was a little puppy. From working out to surf trips together and going to see Harley Elmore in Texas, and learning to knife fight and shooting experiences, hikes, go to Maine for Jocko's and Pete's origin Jiu-Jitsu camp together now. We're on the mats together. We have shared passions about cars and music. Same with my daughter. I've spent active time pouring into my babies, because I realize that's what matters. They are my legacy. I have control and influence there. I can help make them better. I can actually impact something there. The fuck can I do about Iran? What the fuck can I do about a post that Trump puts up where he says, I'm going to bomb the shit out of your entire civilization and send you back into the Stone Ages? Shit, I don't like seeing that. You know, I would like my president to be more dignified. And I know what you're saying, Bedros, you voted for him. I did, and I would probably vote for him again if Kamala was still the opposition. It's the devil I know, it's the devil I don't. And you know this, you might have a business partner, you might have a spouse, you might have a best friend, you don't agree on everything. I agree with most of what Trump has done. But here, I think he's royally fucking up. But that's a different story. I've done a podcast episode on that. You can go find it three episodes back. The reason I'm sharing this with you is because the more that you focus on the things that are outside of your locus of control, the more stressed you're going to be, the more depressed you're going to be, the more you're going to live in fear, uncertainty and doubt. And when you're in that state where you're emotionally charged and your nervous system is always on guard, you're not your best person. You're not happy. You're not content. You're not in flow state. Instead, you're barely getting by financially. Instead, your kids can sense the uneasiness about you. And so, it's a repellent to them. Your honey can feel that there's something up with you, and she's walking on eggshells around you. Bro, you don't need to be that guy. Instead, make a list of what matters. Faith, family, fitness, and finances, and attack that ruthlessly. Because another six years from now, every few months, they will come up with another distraction, another point of fear, another thing they're going to do. And you can't control that. And man, is it super important for you to be able to have a level of control in your life? And where's the best place to start? Yourself. Start doing the healing work, start doing the physical work. Get that fat ass in shape. You got titties that I can milk, you've got cheeto dust in your belly button, you waste so much time doing research, I'd rather you go to the gym and do an ugly set of fucking bench presses, squats, and deadlifts, because at least you'll burn some calories and stimulate some muscle. And then just figure out a source of high protein and moderate carbs and low fat to eat. You don't need to figure out what the next fucking training program and macro nutrition program is for you. You ain't ever getting on stage. You just need to get your fat ass in shape. And if you start there, develop some abs, get some guns, because in the process of that, you're building focus, consistency, delayed gratification, discipline. People around you look at you and go, holy fuck, this dude's fucking dialed in, right? And that's where you start, because people always go, where do I start? I always tell you, fitness is the gateway drug. And I know you're lying to yourself. I only have 5 or 10 vanity pounds to lose. No, you don't, bro. No, you don't. You're shaped like a fucking pear. You're shaped like a pear, that all that shit is, all that gooey shit is oozing over your waistline. That's not 5 or 10 pounds. You have visceral fat around your organs that's fucking choking out. One's got a guillotine choke around your fucking kidneys. The other one's got a rear naked choke hold around your fucking liver. Your blood pressure is up through the roof. You're pre-diabetic and you're in your fucking 30s. Come on, man. And you got this false perception like the average American male, 400% higher ability that you can fight than you really can. You can't. You can't defend yourself. God forbid someone came to mug you and your honey, you couldn't defend yourself. And that's the American stats, man. The average American dude has this false perception that he's 400% better at combatives than he really is. That's fucking ridiculous. Why don't you actually go learn combatives, make some friends, start controlling your body, start controlling your thoughts and feelings. And when you do, you realize that, fuck man, this is where true happiness is. I got a motherfucker in an arm bar. I got this guy in a scarf hold. And I fucking hit him with the old fucking head and arm choke. Get into kickboxing, get into Muay Thai, build some friends, join a running club, get that runner's high. Fuck running. I hate running. I did the six week running challenge. You know what? I get my 10 to 15,000 steps in a day, but I fucking hate running. That's what I learned about doing a marathon, that running is not me. But that's okay. I get my cardio in on the mats. And so I share this with you guys, because life is meant to be happy. You are meant to have this level of contentment. You know, you shouldn't be sad and depressed and anxious and overwhelmed, because if you are, life's speeding by, and the people that really matter, they're not having your positive influence, and soon they're gonna be gone, and you're gonna be seen as a liability and never an asset, and that's a sad place to be. Guys, if you liked this episode, if you got any value from it, please do me a favor and leave a comment if you're watching this on YouTube, and also like it to help the algorithms reach more men, and also if you're watching or listening to this on the podcast platforms, give me a favor and leave us a five-star review and a comment. It would mean a lot to me, and it costs you absolutely nothing. And also remember this, that average is the enemy, that success is your responsibility, and change can take place in an instant if you are willing to flip the switch.
