Speaker 1:
[00:00] If you were to get up early in the morning, just before sunrise this week, you would see a cluster of planets in the early morning sky. And they are Mercury, Saturn and Mars. And these three planets coming together, which they do exactly on Monday, is a very important signature that burns itself into the year's astrology. It burns itself into our conscious awareness. They are visible planets. They are rising up before the sun, so they're getting ahead of the game. And this is the first time that Saturn is made visible. If you think back to March 25th of this year, that's when Saturn and the sun came together. Saturn was invisible at that time. Something was seeded at that time. Something began at that time. And this is the first moment where the results of that thing are being shown. But that's not the only piece of this that's interesting to me. What's really interesting to me is that Saturn is a planet of consequences. And yeah, it really struggles in Aries. It is one of the hardest signs that it can be in. And so consequences feel really hard to come by in some cases. Until recently. I'm taping this on April 13th. So I'm very close to when you're going to listen to this. And I'm sure a million things are going to happen. I know a million things are going to happen before you hear this. But I am really blown away by the consequences that have appeared. Not out of nowhere. But that have all kind of coalesced together over the past couple of days as Saturn is becoming visible. This is what Demetri George calls a moment of like coming out, right? Like something happened on March 25th or around that time when Saturn and the sun came together. And this is the time, three and a half-ish weeks later, where we get to see the results of something, where we get to see in the world, we get to feel, we get to sense, we get to witness the manifestation of Saturn, the manifestation of consequences, the results are in. And so I'm saying this knowing that Hungary ousted a 16-year reign of Trump's mentor, Orban. Like just last night from where I'm recording. But not only that, Eric Swalwell drops out of the race in California because of sexual harassment allegations brought by a multitude of women. So those two consequences feel very satisfying from where I'm sitting. It doesn't solve everything. It doesn't put us into a different trajectory right off the bat. But it is a result. It is some kind of movement. It is some kind of justice or could lead to some kind of justice. I don't know what's going to happen in Hungary. I don't know what's going to happen in California. I don't know what's going to happen to the individuals that have done so much harm. But it's really good to see some kind of consequence. And then at the same time, as Mars was making a conjunction to Neptune on the 12th of April, we had Artemis landing. We had the spaceship coming back. We had the crew coming back from the moon. And that week that they were there just flooded the Internet and flooded my imagination and self with a sense of wonder and awe. And so as they came back and landed, I was like, oh, that's also a good consequence of science and hard work. Consequence might be the wrong word, but that is a really good result, right? Saturn becoming visible in the sky is a really good result of hard work. And so in this very long winded opening, I am saying to you that right now you are going to see the results of your hard work as well. While we are in the midst of some very difficult astrological signatures, Mars, Saturn and Mercury coming together says that we have to have hard conversations. We have to make some hard decisions. We have to take responsibility for the things that we say yes to. But when we do, my goodness, is change ever inevitable. Hello and welcome finally to the Astrology of the Week Ahead podcast. I am your host and your astro bestie, Chani Nicholas. So I need you to understand where areas is in your chart and I have been a broken record about this. But I need you to go to the Chani app and I need you to listen to your reading for this week or for this month because both of those readings talk about the exact location of areas in your chart, aka your life. So for areas rising, that's the body, that's the self, that's you. It's very, very personal to you. Please be kind to your body. For Taurus rising, this is the behind the scenes area of your life. This is the time for you to rest. This is a time for you to go within. This is a time for you to do something difficult behind the scenes. In the back rooms, back stage. This is not for public view. This is your own internal journey, which doesn't mean you opt out of life. It just means that there's something very important going on back there for you. And also, you might need a little extra rest. Gemini rising, well, there's a lot going on for you because we haven't gotten to it yet. But Uranus is about to enter Gemini. So this is a game changing week for you for other reasons. The Mars-Saturn-Mercury Conjunction is happening in your 11th house of friends and groups and associations and networks and any and everything you do as an activist, as a member of your community. This is important for you to address. This is important for you to show up to. This is an important time for what you're doing in the collective in difficult ways, in successful ways. What are you wanting to triumph with, with a group of people? Cancer, this is the most public part of your chart. This is your 10th house. This is all about how you show up in the world. It's all about how you show up as a leader. It's all about how brave you are. It's all about how dedicated you are. It's all about the results of your hard work being seen by the masses or by at least the most important 10 people in the audience. You know what I mean? Like it's showing the world proof of concept. Leo rising, this is an exceptionally important time for anything to do with publications, press, what is getting written about anything that you're working on, about you. This is an incredibly important time for your studies, for learning, for anything you're teaching. Incredibly important time for your long-term travels, but also your long-term plans. Like where are you going eventually? This is a time for you to be like, I'm going to go here and it's going to take all my resources, but it's going to be worth it. And this is why I know why I'm making this decision to go in this direction. Virgo, this is a very important time for your career. I'm thinking about Uranus going into your 10th house. I'm going to get there in a second. Virgo rising, this is such an important time for your career. You are going to do some spectacularly loud, revolutionary, rebellious things out in the world. I'm very excited for what you're putting out into the world. And this conglomeration of planets is happening in your 8th house. This is time for you to deal with something that maybe feels like grief or like debt, energetic debt, financial debt. This is a good time to clear any kind of debt that you can in any kind of way. This is a good time for you to also be confronting the fears that you have let hold you in place. This is a time to move through your fears so that you can move to the next level of the game. Not to be trite, but it's true. Liberizing. Wow, what's happening in your relationships? What's happening for your partners? Think platonic, think professional, think romantic, doesn't have to be romantic. Just think about the partners in your life, the people you say yes to, the people you have an agreement with. Either they're going through a hard time, they're going through an intense time, or there's some sort of result in your relationship. Like, okay, we've been doing this thing. We started this thing three and a half weeks ago. We started this thing even further back ago than that. And now we're seeing the results. These are the confirmations that I'm getting about this person or this relationship. This is the responsibility that I have to this person, and this is not. These are the boundaries I need to set here. This is how I'm gonna be bold and courageous, and this is how I'm gonna show up in this relationship so that I feel like I'm in my integrity. Scorpio rising. This is happening in a part of your chart that makes me wanna say, please rest a lot. Please do not burn yourself out. Please do not overdo it. This is a marathon, y'all. We need you in the race long-term. What are you working on that feels consequential or hefty or hard? What are you working on that's bearing results? That's like, okay, this is hard. This has been hard. I have to have a hard conversation about something, but look at this thing taking shape. I see the results. This is phenomenal. This was hard. This is also worth it. Good. I'm glad. Something's got to be hard in life. Like, life is not supposed to just be... Anyways, we could argue about that till the cows come home. But hard things are not bad, right? Hard things are helping us to pick a path, pick a lane and stick to it. So what are you doing in your work life to make it feel significant and challenging but worth it? And then Sagittarius Rising especially. I'm saying the names of signs and I'm always gonna be talking primarily about your rising sign. If you have a sun or moon in the sign that I'm talking about, it might impact or be impacted by this. Maybe it might not be. Go to the app and again, listen to your reading, but also look at the transit section and see if Mars or Saturn or Mercury are transiting anything in your chart because that will be very helpful. The read on the transit section of the app will be really helpful. Sagittarius. This is time for you to do something challenging, but exceptionally creative. You might be choosing a creative project. You might be choosing to do something or not do something about children or young people in your life. You might be really battling with an issue around like, should I have a child? Should I not? Should I be an adult in this child's life? Can I do that? You know, like there might be stuff with children that you're really struggling with. And to struggle with those questions are really important and they're helpful. And it's hard, but it's good. And you might be like, I have all this creative energy and ambition. How do I shape it? How do I put it out into the world? I feel the importance of it. And I'm going to have to have a hard conversation around it right now. Capricorn, this really lands at home. This hits home. This is deep. This is profound. This is sensitive. This is tender. This is hard astrology in a part of our life where we want to be really safe and stable. We don't want hard things to happen. It's home. Fourth house, that's where Aries is in your chart. Now, this is also a time for you to be bold and it's a time for you to be really defiant in the face of historic family patterns that are no good for you, that are toxic, that you need to transmute and shift and choose a different path from. This is a good time for saying no. It's a good time for saying like, I don't think so. I would like different results. If I want different results, I've got to choose a different behavior, a different pattern to start to put in place. What is it that I want to start to see the results of? What is it that you are seeing the results of? Saturn is here in this part of your chart. It's like, okay, have you been working on something over the past month that is starting to bear fruit? That is seeming like, okay, this is taking shape now. It's hard, it's important, it's going to take everything, but it's taking shape and I like that. Aquarius Rising, this is about your daily life and your calendars and your conversations. This is a week for hard conversations. This is your hard conversation. What are you writing that's challenging, but really satisfying? What are you saying that's challenging, but really important for you to say? How are you being distinct and specific in your language? And what is starting to take shape in your daily life or about your writing or about your teaching or about your studying or about something that you've been working on that has to do with language, how you see things, how you articulate it? And then Pisces, this is financial for you. This is about your livelihood. If you have a job or jobs or gigs or what have you. If you don't work for a living, this is about your relationship to your money. What kind of conversations do you need to have that are financial in nature? And what's hard about that? What conversations are you having at work and what's hard about that? But what is also starting to show results and gain some traction and is going to give you like a good chunk of, yes, this is, I can sink my teeth into this. This was really, I wouldn't have picked this, like to have to work on this thing or to have to do this financial thing. But I had to do it and so this is what I got out of it. How are you being forged in the fire? Okay, I know I don't usually launch into every sign on this podcast, but I just wanted to give you a glance at some of what you're reading in the Chani app will talk about. And I just want you to orient yourself in these topics so that you can see and strategize and start to understand, like, oh, this is how the astrology is taking shape. And it really is about shaping things. The other thing I want you to think about this week is how magical language is. With a Mercury and Saturn conjunction, especially with Mars in the mix, our words are our bond, our words are how we manifest, and our words are weapons. Always, that's always true. But when these three come together and they are getting up before the sun, they are visible in the pre-dawn sky. We know that that is exceptionally searingly, loudly true. Anything that happens in a fire sign is going to be bold and in your face, and we could say loud. Mercury is a part of this. It's going to announce the hard thing. It's going to describe the specifics. It's going to help us to parse out the truth and what's important to us and why. And that, my friends, is how we manifest things. That, my friends, is magic. When I know what I mean, and then I mean what I say, and then I act on those things, that's how I make magic. That's how I manifest things in the world. When I say, I don't want fascism. I want socialism or something akin to it. Fill in the blank, whatever you choose. Then I better take action towards that inevitable goal. I better do things that are against fascism, and I better do things that are for community, that create safety because everyone feels secure on some level. Like health care for all, food for all, housing for all. Wouldn't it be nice? Education for all. Yeah, it would. Just basic level. So I better do things that promote that kind of reality. I better vote for candidates and uplift them, talk about them, advertise them, do things with them that also might be able to make some of those dreams come true with the community that votes for them, right? It's a collective effort. Anyways, this is a week that's really, really good for those types of realizations. I want you to realize how magical your words are, how powerful they are, how potent they are. Only and when and if you back them up with action and you are ready to receive the consequences, but also the results. And then, aside from that and maybe alongside that, take note of the results that are coming in. Take note of the results of the elections in your life, metaphorically speaking, maybe literally speaking. Take notes of what is working and what is not and be nimble enough and brave enough to adjust. I'm saying that to myself as well as you. All right, y'all, that's not all. That's only the first couple of days of the week. By Thursday, we've got Venus and Uranus meeting up at the nth degree of Taurus. There's a major financial shake-up that's also going to happen this week. I mean, we're in a fully destabilized world, so the economy also being destabilized is all part and parcel. But something is going to go down this week that exemplifies the instability and why the instability is. Who does it benefit when the economy is so unstable or when markets are unstable? Who's buying everything up at a very cheap, low, low, low, low, low basement bargain price? There's going to be something here on Thursday that puts an exclamation point on that. I'm hoping that it is really good inspiration for something like a general strike. I'm hoping that it's a really good inspiration for some kind of May Day uprising. I'm hoping that it's really good inspiration for like, well, this system doesn't work, so let's recreate it and really focus on what would work for us collectively. Then Venus moves into Gemini and prepares the space, beautifies the space for Uranus entering Gemini. On Saturday, Uranus enters Gemini. This is massive, game-changing circle on the calendar, astrology. I know, I keep saying that. We already had astrology like this on Monday of this week. Here we are again on Saturday. You're telling me there's another big thing. Yes, I am. That's the nature of this year. That's the nature of the year of the fire horse. That's the nature of the planets and their happenings and their motions and their movements in 2026. It's just one thing after the other after the other. This is the deal. Since the United States' inception that had Uranus and Gemini, every time Uranus is in Gemini, every 84 years, this country is involved in some sort of war. So here we are. We're already involved in a war. We're already ahead of ourselves. Uranus was in Gemini in 2025, so officially that was the beginning of it, but now it's settling in. It just so happens that the megalomaniac, Alzheimer's patient, dementia patient in charge, pedophile in charge Trump also has Uranus and Gemini. Sun, Uranus, conjunction with the North Node, born on a full moon, total solar eclipse, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. He is erratic, eclipsy, unstable, you name it. This is the beginning of his Uranus return as well. So the fact that someone with the Sun and Uranus is ruling a country as it goes through its Uranus return is not lost on many astrologers, myself included. Nick Degenbest has done an incredible amount of research on Uranus and Gemini. He has podcasts with Chris Brennan on the Astrology podcast. If you want to go listen to seven hours of Civil War talk, et al. with them, please do. There's hours and hours and hours and hours and hours. For our purposes here, we're just going to say that every time Uranus is in Gemini, this country either gets involved in a war or starts one or one gets started here. The American Revolution, Civil War, World War II, here we are, 2026. So we know that we're in it, but we also know if we just look back, well, if we look back at all of those ages, but if we also take a page from the last time Uranus was in Gemini, World War II, after World War II was the creation of NATO. So it was the creation of a new world order. And we know that we are in the midst of a reordering of the world's powers. And that is one of the big themes I want you to take from this week's episode. Because the reordering of your world is also occurring. The world is reordering itself, nation to nation, on a social level. But you and I are also reordering our worlds. We are saying, wait, what is important? Who am I allied with? What do I want to make sure that I am a part of revolutionizing? What am I a part of updating, of innovating? Uranus is a planet of change. When it enters an air sign, this is a social change. We are changing socially, collectively, again, nation to nation for sure. But we are also reorienting ourselves person to person, and reordering our own lives, self to life. And so wherever Gemini is in your chart, this is where the reordering is going to happen. This is especially big for Gemini, for Virgo, for Sag and for Pisces. Again, I want you to go listen to your reading this week, or the reading for this month for April, to go find out exactly what that is. But this is a seven-year transit. This is a long transit. So we've got time to figure out how it works for us. But I know that those signs in particular, there's a real pressure building inside of you to get free, to understand liberation in a different kind of way. For yourself, obviously. Again, a reordering of your life and how freedom works in your life, or what kind of freedom or liberation you are in need of now. And then also what kind of liberation movements you want to be a part of in the broader picture. For Gemini, that's very personal. For Virgo, that is about your professional sphere or your public sphere. For Sagittarius, that's about your relationships. What does freedom look like? What does commitment look like? And for Pisces, that is about your home base and your home life and your family life, and what a reordering could mean there. But for all of us, we're impacted. All of us, all of us, all of us are impacted by these shifts because we all have Gemini somewhere in our chart. Not that we have a placement in Gemini, but we have the sign Gemini in our chart somewhere. So go listen to your reading yet again. Okay. Also on Saturday, we have the Sun square Pluto, which feels very revolutionary as Uranus enters into Gemini. I just want to say also like Uranus and I is like, okay, tech weird advancements speed up for sure, because Pluto is also an Aquarius. So now we're getting this double slow planet in air sign feeling. It's very much about change, change of tech, change of communication, change of the ways in which we do business, change in the ways in which we do, again, connection. How are we ordered? How do we connect? What is the world order? What is technology up to? Can we ban AI before it's too late? Is anybody going to regulate the robots? Just me, just saying, you know what I'm saying? And then on Sunday, Venus makes a lovely, romantic little sextile to Neptune. It's very flirty. It's very wonderful for delighting in the day. And Mercury makes a square to Jupiter. And this is really interesting because remember, Mercury at the beginning of the week made a conjunction with Mars and Saturn. Tough conversation, hard conversation, good talk, thanks, I think, I don't know. That was weird. That was hard. That was effortful. And then by the end of the week on Sunday, we get good news or we get our confidence back or we're like, oh, I'm glad I went into that really narrow conversation. Like I had to deal with the specifics and I had to deal with like this really hard, difficult exchange and by Sunday it's like, oh, thank God I did that. Great. Good results. Love that. Hated the process, but I love the results and that's all we can really ask for. We're not supposed to love every process. Every process isn't supposed to be comfortable. But hopefully if we're doing it while building skill and while trying to do it with as much integrity as possible, we're going to get a result that feels good, that is good, that has good positive reinforcement in it. Now it's time for a question from the audience.

Speaker 2:
[27:41] Hi Chani. I'd love to hear a bit more about Pallas Athena and specifically how to understand Pallas Athena in comparison or in relationship to Mars. So for me, I'm an Aries Sun and I have a strong Aries stellium, a lot of fire sign and I'm sad rising. I have Pallas Athena in Pisces in the fourth house, which feels really contradictory being so Mars ruled. It would be great to hear about how you distinguish between Mars and Pallas Athena energy. Thank you.

Speaker 1:
[28:19] Love this question. There are a lot of overlaps between Mars and Pallas Athena because Athena was the warrior goddess. She was the protector of Athens. And so when we work with the asteroid Pallas Athena, we are wanting to think about that kind of warrior goddess energy and how that functions in our life. But she's not only that, she is the wisdom goddess. She is born of the head of Zeus because he's a patriarch and he ate the mother. He ate her mother. So he consumed or subsumed matriarchy or matrilineal culture. And then was like, oh, I gave birth to my daughter, which is not a thing. So we're looking at a complicated mythology, but just in terms of looking at it symbolically, she comes from the head. She's born of the mind. So she's also a mental progeny. She's also how we understand things. She's also how we articulate ourselves. So she's also kind of a sister to Mercury, if you will, not fully, right? We're talking about a very modern concept. We're talking about a modern asteroid, which I love, I work with. Obviously, we put her in the app for a reason. But we're also mixing things. So Mercury and Mars are classical planets. They have been a part of astrology for thousands of years. Palsathena is a modern way of looking at another kind of iteration of something. So when we mix them, we have to know that they're not one-to-ones. They're not going to serve the same function. Mars in your chart is Mars. Mars rules anything in Aries and the part of your chart that is Aries. It rules anything in Scorpio and the part of your chart that is Scorpio. It is a planet that is very, very close to human awareness and human consciousness and the development of astrology itself. We can see it. It's got a reddish hue. It has a very specific orbit. It has meant something very deep to humanity for a very long time, thousands of years, because we've always been able to clock it. Palisathena is a newer kind of thing, so it's like an addition. So when we work with asteroids, it's really good to know what part of our chart they're in, but they don't mean, they don't carry the same weight. They don't ever take the place of Mars. They don't ever take the place of Mercury. They don't take the place of these standard, like, classical planets especially, or even the modern planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Although we could say that Pluto rivals Ceres and their importance, but that's another AMA for another time. Okay, so we don't want to say like, oh, my Mars is here, but my Pallas Athena is here. So that's contradictory. Two different things, apples and oranges to some degree. Pallas Athena, I want to know, yes, what area of the chart is she in? If she's in Pisces, then that's the style within which, so we might be a warrior of poetry or a warrior of the imagination. We might be a warrior in the ways in which we wield our imagination. But you want to also think about like, how am I using my intellect here? My intellect as a weapon perhaps, but my intellect as its own progeny. Like, what am I doing with my intellectual energy? What am I birthing from my mind? And how is that being made manifest in the world? And because yours is in Pisces, that's the quality, that's the style. That's why I say poetry or artistry or imagination. That's how you want to look at that. And then the area of the chart that it's in will tell you where that is. And then the other thing with asteroids that we want to make sure of is like, are they touching another planet? Are they in close proximity to an aspect with another planet? Are they part of another kind of set up in our chart that's important? If they're not, they're not going to be as active. Asteroids are super important when they're really close to a planet or a point in our chart. If they're not really touching anything, then we can just be like, oh yeah, that's where my palace Athena is, but it's never going to supersede your Mars or your Mercury or anything else. It's just going to be a kind of lighter touch that you're like, oh yeah, that's where that is. Does that, when it gets transited by something, maybe you'll feel it. When it connects with something else, you'll feel it. But otherwise, it might be just a lot more subtle than the main planets of your chart. The classical planets are Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn. The modern planets are Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. And then there's all the other things in the sky. Okay. I hope that was helpful. All right, y'all, that is the reading. It's a big week again. Come back next week. We'll talk about the full moon in Scorpio. It is a full moon in Scorpio. It is going to be big feelings everywhere. A lot of big feelings coming to the surface. A lot of transformation. We're going to talk about how to take care of ourselves through it. Until then, take really good care of yourselves, of your community. Know that a lot is up in the air right now. We're going to start the week in a really, really, really kind of like tight spot or making some very tough decisions, very important ones, game-changing ones, life-changing ones. And then we're going to end the week thinking about a lot of change, a lot of liberation. And there's just going to be, it's like somebody opens up a window, someone opens up a giant door, and there's just a gust of fresh air. A lot is going to get stirred up. Sending you lots of love. Many blessings. Thank you so much for listening. Bye for now.
