Speaker 1:
[00:19] Bedtime Stories with Netflix Jr. Dr. Seuss' Red Fish, Blue Fish presents... It was a dark and peaceful night, or so you'd have thought, as Red Fish slept soundly in their little cot. It seemed there wasn't much Red couldn't sleep through, but a strange sound was humming and keeping up Blue. So while Red kept snoring, Blue threw off their sheet. They got out of their bed, and they rose to their feet. Blue decided right there, as they threw up their fin, they tracked down this sound, which is where we begin. Blue had to find out what was making that sound. Blue tiptoed over to Red's bedside table and carefully reached for the radio. Could Red have accidentally left it?

Speaker 2:
[01:48] What?

Speaker 1:
[02:07] I was worried they were going to wake up Red, who had started tossing and turning in their bed.

Speaker 2:
[02:35] Mice, we are hearing numerous reports of mass rodent outbreaks across the community. Lock your doors, seal your windows, stay safe out there. Good night and good luck.

Speaker 1:
[02:52] Red awoke, and turned off their radio with the push of a button. But then Red heard it, too. Red hopped out of the bed, and turned the lights on.

Speaker 2:
[03:19] Yeah!

Speaker 1:
[03:21] Blue was thrilled for another set of ears on the case. Red wondered if the strange humming might be coming from their sleepy time sound machine. On! But they didn't hear any humming coming from the sound machine. A strange noise must be coming from somewhere else in the house. So they set off to track down the source of the mysterious hum. The door creaked open at the top of the stairs, as Red Fish and Blue Fish tiptoed into the dark hallway. Red Fish fell along the wall for the light switch. On. Ah! Hey! Hey! Oh! The hallway window was left open. Could that have been the cause of the strange noise? Blue shut the window, and they listened again. But the strange noise kept on humming. Red wondered if the noise was coming from downstairs. So the two fish set off to continue their searching. And as they made their way to the very last step, Red noticed a light in the kitchen was left. So they crept to the kitchen with their ears and eyes wide open. And they discovered the light was coming from the refrigerator. The fridge door had been left open just to crack. So Red shut the fridge door, which turned the light off. But the strange noise kept on humming. Oh. Blue wondered if the noise was coming from the dishwasher. So they pushed the button to turn it on. But the humming wasn't coming from the dishwasher. Then, Blue had an idea that maybe the ice maker could be making the mysterious noise. Oh. So Blue opened the freezer and turned the ice maker on. But that wasn't it either. So Blue turned the machine off. Meanwhile, All this searching was making Red hungry. Red opened the fridge to make themself a midnight snack. But when they opened the cheese drawer, the cheese had vanished. Then, they checked the pantry. And the pantry was emptied out too. No olives, no pickles, no bread, no crackers. Then, Blue noticed something they hadn't before. A trail of crumbs on the floor. The two immediately decided to follow the trail, believing that it would lead to the source of the mysterious sound. Oh, um... But first, Blue couldn't leave all those crumbs on the floor, so they grabbed the vacuum cleaner. Red and Blue passed through the living room, which was dark and still. The old grandfather clock struck 12, as Blue continued vacuuming up the trail of crumbs. The two fish felt closer than ever to solving the case of the mysterious sound. They followed the winding crumb trail, which led them right to the base of the stairs. There were crumbs on each step. From the first floor to the second. Red and Blue giddily made it to the top of the landing. And the humming was getting louder. To hear it better, Blue turned the vacuum. They tiptoed over the Trail of Crumbs and followed it right to the closed bathroom door. They could hardly contain their excitement. Soon, their nighttime caper would be over and done. Red grabbed the handle and threw open the door...

Speaker 2:
[10:52] Eh!...

Speaker 1:
[10:53] to a mouse in the sink. A mouse who was bathing, humming a song that was stuck in their head. The mouse had made the trail of crumbs, too. They had fixed a cheese plate with food from Red and Blue's kitchen. Red, who was afraid of mice, swam to the bedroom as fast as they could. But Blue could only laugh. Blue apologized to their guest for interrupting their night. But before Blue let Mouse get back to their song, they asked them one last question. Do you want the lights... Or... And the Mouse answered... The mystery was solved, though no one saw it coming. A mouse in the sink was causing the humming. A musical rodent with a taste for cheeses, taking a bath wherever they pleases. Blue was so tickled by the events of the night that they knew they'd be laughing with Red come daylight. But Red Fish was already tucked in their bed. Cheets pulled up to their chin, pillow under their head. And sweet Blue, wanting mouse to have some privacy alone, went to the sound machine to make noise that could drone. They found the setting and let out a yawn, closed the case on the humming, as they turned the sound.
