[01:53] Felicitations, all you fated shakers! Fly on into the Stinky Dragon and throw back our latest thirst quencher, Hail and Well Death. It's a mixture of water under the bridge, Mincing of minty words, Novelty grovel tea bag, Bolt of radiant orange juice and topped with a mage hand squeeze of lemon. One mouthful of this money making mixer is like a splash of cash in your mustache. Previously our adventurers beheld a bellowing from the bloodbather, Avoided a vanguard of Undarians, Made their way into the morbid mire of Meadow, And catapulted out of the canyon into the Veiled Vale. Now assailed by antlered animals, will they prevail or fail? Bring over a brew for this bedtime tale. Hello, everyone.
Speaker 8:
[02:53] Welcome to Tales from the Stinky Dragon. My name is Gustavo Sorola, and I'm your dungeon master, and I'm gonna hit our four players with an arrow.
Speaker 9:
[03:01] I'm gonna need to see some ID before you shoot an arrow at me. I'm starting to believe you're not the real Gustavo, and these are not proper arrows.
Speaker 8:
[03:10] I've been replaced.
Speaker 10:
[03:11] Sir, did you register these arrows?
Speaker 11:
[03:12] They're not licensed.
Speaker 9:
[03:13] Yeah. Audience, if you'll listen back to the last 20 episodes of our show, you'll notice Gus has been acting differently.
Speaker 8:
[03:19] I did say that intro backwards. Normally, I say, I'm your Dungeon Master, Gustavo Sorola, and I said, I'm Gustavo Sorola, your Dungeon Master today. Who is she?
Speaker 12:
[03:27] Can you follow this capture, please? Prove me you're not a robot.
Speaker 8:
[03:31] I got a 12th.
Speaker 11:
[03:32] Oh, right. Oh, my gosh. I'm like, for what?
Speaker 10:
[03:35] Come on, guys, get with the program.
Speaker 13:
[03:37] It's the Stinky Dragon.
Speaker 14:
[03:38] 15.
Speaker 9:
[03:39] 17 for Jon.
Speaker 8:
[03:41] This week's arrow question is, what is your favorite fruit? And that was submitted by Riley Frenchy, Relay Frenchy, something like that.
Speaker 9:
[03:50] Hi, I'm Jon Risinger and I play Natty Wonder, the Drow Warlock drag queen, mother of the Bringer of the Apocalypse, wife of death.
Speaker 12:
[04:00] What's your remember of that cult? Keep going.
Speaker 9:
[04:02] Member of the flame people. Something like that. Player of the special Auto Harp that I got. Auto Harp of Auto Tune. Caretaker of Captain Grumbles. Yeah.
Speaker 8:
[04:21] I could do something about that.
Speaker 9:
[04:24] Easy. You can't kill something that I bring back from the dead.
Speaker 8:
[04:29] We'll find a way.
Speaker 9:
[04:30] I know you will. I know you will. My favorite fruit. This is a little bit of a cop out answer, but I think it speaks true to who I am. Honestly, my favorite fruit is any fruit that you bake into a pie. Because, good lord, do I love a fruit pie and I don't think I've met one that I don't like thus far.
Speaker 8:
[04:53] What about when the fruit pies, you know, sometimes they're too liquidy. That's my one complaint about fruit pies.
Speaker 9:
[04:57] Like they're not like gelatinous enough and that kind of thing? Well, that's just a bad bake.
Speaker 8:
[05:01] Right. Yeah. Other than that, delicious.
Speaker 9:
[05:03] No. I mean, that's just a bad bake and that ain't anything about the actual pie itself. That's about the bakers themselves.
Speaker 8:
[05:09] True.
Speaker 9:
[05:09] But yeah, no, I mean, apple, blueberry, rhubarb, peaches, pies, cobblers, anything like that. Just good times.
Speaker 12:
[05:19] The rhubarb lady.
Speaker 8:
[05:21] Rhubarb?
Speaker 12:
[05:22] Sorry, there was like a fleeting internet thing. The rhubarb lady.
Speaker 9:
[05:25] It rings a bell slightly, but I think I've forgotten it.
Speaker 12:
[05:28] Okay, okay, it's fine.
Speaker 9:
[05:28] Never mind. Sorry. I always want to yes and any memes or inside jokes, but if they go over my head, I can't do anything.
Speaker 8:
[05:35] One of the most renowned bakers of our land, the great baker Heb, not known for necessarily the best quality, but maybe the best value and price in the land.
Speaker 9:
[05:45] Indeed. Yeah. Yeah, I would agree with that.
Speaker 8:
[05:50] All right. Any fruit that goes in a pie, which I think is pretty much all of them, for the most part.
Speaker 14:
[05:55] Not pineapple.
Speaker 8:
[05:56] You make a pineapple pie?
Speaker 14:
[05:57] Very often.
Speaker 12:
[05:57] A pineapple pie sounds amazing.
Speaker 11:
[06:00] I don't know if the texture would be great, because what would a baked pineapple taste like? It's very stringy usually, right?
Speaker 12:
[06:05] Kind of like a pear, right?
Speaker 14:
[06:06] Well, it'd be like a pineapple turnovers.
Speaker 12:
[06:10] Peaches? Peaches are pretty common. Peaches. Yeah, that's a pretty common pie.
Speaker 11:
[06:16] That word is synonymous now with saying it that way.
Speaker 8:
[06:19] Speaking of peaches, you should check out C-Squad Season 2 over at stinkydragonpod.com, available for all levels of Patreon supporters. All right, thanks, Jon. Next up was 16, I believe.
Speaker 14:
[06:32] It's technically 15, but.
Speaker 8:
[06:33] 15, okay.
Speaker 14:
[06:35] Hi, I'm Chris Demarais and I play Gunther, the male folk fighter. And my favorite type of food is of course, the sludge berry. It is so delicious, it is only found at the bottom of the water. You swim down and you look through the smudge.
Speaker 15:
[06:54] You find it and it's like a treat.
Speaker 14:
[06:57] I love my sludge berries.
Speaker 8:
[06:59] I like to think that for Gunther, sludge berries are, you know how normally cranberries are like grown in a bog and all of them float and they pop and they get them. All of the bad ones that seep to the bottom and get stuck in the mud, those are sludge berries. And it's like garbage. It's left behind, but that's Gunther's favorite.
Speaker 11:
[07:15] Why is it that so many of Gunther's arrow answers are like him beckoning you into a dark cave to tell you a little secret?
Speaker 12:
[07:23] I was about to say, cause it's Chris getting into the voice and he starts as if he's whispering.
Speaker 9:
[07:30] There's a character from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and he's trying to find the kids. Do you guys remember that character or anybody? He's just like, he's this weird little fellow who's trying, like there's not supposed to be any kids for some reason in this village. And so it's like Pied Piper, but just kids. And you just pulled that memory out when you were describing how Gunther sounds at the beginning of these.
Speaker 8:
[07:51] I don't think I've seen that movie in 35 years, it's been a long time.
Speaker 9:
[07:56] Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, we love you.
Speaker 16:
[07:58] Come find me. Come find me.
Speaker 8:
[08:03] All right. Thanks, Gunther. We'll look for sludger berries at our local shop. Now we want.
Speaker 11:
[08:08] What do those taste like?
Speaker 8:
[08:09] Yeah, what do those taste like?
Speaker 14:
[08:11] They taste like a sweetness and a grittiness, and that is like good on the tongue. Very refreshing.
Speaker 11:
[08:20] And you have a lot of tongue.
Speaker 12:
[08:22] You want?
Speaker 8:
[08:26] All right. Thanks, Gunther. All right. Who's up next?
Speaker 12:
[08:29] Thanks to me.
Speaker 8:
[08:30] Hello.
Speaker 12:
[08:31] Blaine Gibson here, reporting for Tales from the Stinky Dragon, and I play Tove. Yoo hoo.
Speaker 17:
[08:35] I'm the male thot, take barbarian level eight. I'm not going to whisper into your ears if I'm luring you into a trap.
Speaker 12:
[08:43] I'm going to say my favorite fruit, and I'm going to say this with full confidence, not knowing if it is a fruit or not, is a coconut. Is a coconut a fruit?
Speaker 10:
[08:54] Yeah.
Speaker 17:
[08:55] Is it?
Speaker 10:
[08:55] Okay, thank God.
Speaker 12:
[08:56] I was going to Google it, but I was like, no, confidence.
Speaker 9:
[08:59] Or it's a seed.
Speaker 12:
[09:00] Either way, I love a coconut. Okay, it's got a hard exterior, very protective, very strong. It doesn't look very appetizing or friendly, but when you get into the insides and it's gooey and nice and refreshing, and it's just so lovely, and I feel like I relate to coconuts in that way. You have the hard robot exterior, and then the inside, I'm just a nice dude.
Speaker 11:
[09:24] Gooey exterior, just like you told.
Speaker 9:
[09:26] So the meat's inside.
Speaker 12:
[09:28] Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[09:29] I feel like you're the opposite. You're gooey on the exterior and hard on the interior.
Speaker 7:
[09:34] Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 12:
[09:35] Only when I'm wearing the skin of my predecessor, am I gooey on the outside. Should I do an arrow question for Bjorn?
Speaker 8:
[09:44] Yeah.
Speaker 2:
[09:45] Let me see Bjorn.
Speaker 8:
[09:47] Like a sock puppet.
Speaker 2:
[09:48] I used to love apples before I died and got skinned by my young son, Tov, and he started wearing me around.
Speaker 8:
[09:56] Tov, isn't that traumatic for you?
Speaker 10:
[09:57] No, it helps me cope.
Speaker 12:
[09:59] It's nice. I get to see my dad in the mirror every day.
Speaker 14:
[10:02] Weird coping.
Speaker 8:
[10:03] I feel like, no, no, I mean, you using him as a sock puppet just like two seconds ago is what I'm talking about.
Speaker 12:
[10:08] I am always very lonely and it's a nice way to just keep myself in company.
Speaker 8:
[10:14] I feel like this is the part of the movie where you're watching the serial killer do unhinged things and you're like, that is disturbing.
Speaker 2:
[10:20] I don't know what you're talking about. Tolv Kilka Stewart, she's me, Bjorn.
Speaker 8:
[10:26] Okay, gonna close the door on that one. But to answer your question, I looked it up. Yes, a coconut is botanically classified as a fruit. Nailed it.
Speaker 11:
[10:36] Wow. Today I learned.
Speaker 8:
[10:38] Okay. Thanks for that disturbing imagery, Tolv. Remind me never to call on you again. You're welcome. Last up, I believe we got Barbara.
Speaker 11:
[10:46] Hello, everyone. I'm Barbara Dunkelman and I play Doug Boone, the artificer of Bugbear. And fun fact for you, Gustavo, I actually like quite a few fruits. They're really good for you. I would say, though, that my favorite ones are apples, apparently, just like Bjorn. For a number of reasons, you know, we were able to grow them on trees back in my village, so they were very plentiful. But also, they're pretty much like the best bang for your buck in terms of nutrition. Great fiber. Just really good for you. And you know, if they say apple a day keeps the doctor away, it's truly true. You know, Doug doesn't get sick very often, and I like to attribute that to my apples.
Speaker 8:
[11:26] That's a hot take. Do you have a specific kind of apple? I don't know if you have different varieties but there's just like generic apple that grows in your village.
Speaker 11:
[11:33] Oh, well, of course, Red Delicious. It's in the name.
Speaker 12:
[11:38] I'm constantly shocked by how many apples there are, you know?
Speaker 9:
[11:42] And how expensive they're getting. You know, way to bring it down.
Speaker 12:
[11:45] This is a fantasy. People come to here to escape the realities of the world.
Speaker 9:
[11:50] I eat apples a lot, and for a lot of the same reasons that Doug listed, and so I appreciate that. And they're very filling. They're a good filling snack if you want to just like supplement in the middle of a meal. But I find that my favorite apples are like, oh, this one's $3 a pound.
Speaker 8:
[12:04] Yeah. Cool.
Speaker 11:
[12:07] I'll bring it back in my hometown if you want to swing by. Jon Risinger.
Speaker 13:
[12:11] Yeah, I'll do it.
Speaker 8:
[12:13] Swing by the land of Costco and buy your apples in bulk.
Speaker 15:
[12:16] You get a much better deal.
Speaker 9:
[12:18] There was like an apple picking festival in California. We used to go to as a family like up at the mountains. It was really fun. Get cider, stuff like that.
Speaker 8:
[12:24] I swear California sounds like some kind of made up fantasy land.
Speaker 9:
[12:29] It has a place called Fantasy Land inside of California.
Speaker 12:
[12:32] One time I tried to eat a horse apple. You're taking a bite out of one of those bad boys. No.
Speaker 8:
[12:36] Oh, how was it?
Speaker 12:
[12:37] Oh, it wasn't good. Tell you that much.
Speaker 8:
[12:39] They're like little and gross, right?
Speaker 12:
[12:42] They're like the size of an apple, but they're all they look like it's covered in worms, like green worms, all squiggly.
Speaker 8:
[12:47] Why did you eat it?
Speaker 12:
[12:48] Because I was a kid and I thought it was a yummy, yummy fruit. And I wanted to live off the land like a wild boy.
Speaker 18:
[12:53] Sure, sure, sure.
Speaker 8:
[12:54] You want to grow big and strong like a horse?
Speaker 12:
[12:56] Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[12:57] Do horses make sense? Blaine is a horse girl.
Speaker 18:
[12:59] Oh, God.
Speaker 12:
[13:00] We're getting to the bottom of my origin story.
Speaker 8:
[13:03] Those worms infected his brain and now he's a horse girl.
Speaker 11:
[13:10] And where might you be at this moment?
Speaker 7:
[13:12] Not where I should be.
Speaker 11:
[13:14] And what do you see? Could you describe your location for me at all?
Speaker 8:
[13:17] As soon as you ask that, Doug, your vision goes stark white. Everything around you is blank, colorless void. It's all quite unnerving, perhaps even paralyzing. And for the rest of the party, you see Doug's body go stiff and his eyes turn milky white. But that's not all. Amidst the darkness, your eyes catch shifting shadows approaching and the padding of footsteps. Three beasts swiftly flank your position. They look feline, but their bodies are shaped like tents and their fur is flaked with gold. Their heads bear six antlers and their tails are short like a bobcat. The darkness is suddenly pierced with light as golden mists spews from each of the felines' mouths right into your faces. All right, everyone, go ahead and make me dexterity saving throws. Doug, you have disadvantage.
Speaker 11:
[14:05] Disadvantage?
Speaker 15:
[14:07] Disadvantage.
Speaker 12:
[14:08] Well, well, well.
Speaker 11:
[14:14] I rolled a 19 twice. You're welcome.
Speaker 15:
[14:16] Wow.
Speaker 12:
[14:17] I rolled a five, but then I have advantage and I got a 22.
Speaker 19:
[14:20] Whoop whoop. Oh, 13.
Speaker 12:
[14:22] What hit me?
Speaker 8:
[14:23] OK. Everyone makes the save except for Natty. This golden mist, it's like a how can you say it? Like a luminescent, glowing golden mist of light oozes out and seems to blanket all of you and like pixie dust. Yeah, I guess kind of like that. But for you, Natty, it kind of it almost like sticks to you and it bathes you in a glowing light.
Speaker 9:
[14:50] Well, this ain't so bad.
Speaker 12:
[14:52] Yeah, you die instantly.
Speaker 8:
[14:55] Her last words, this glowing mist of light illuminates within a 10 foot radius.
Speaker 12:
[15:03] Okay. Well, we're fighting by World War One rules then, huh? Gas warfare, chemical, right? Chris is looking at me like I'm a maniac.
Speaker 8:
[15:13] Well, I mean, it's not wrong. He's not wrong. From a meta perspective, you cannot turn invisible or you cannot benefit from the invisible condition because you're outlined in light and attack roles against you have advantage.
Speaker 12:
[15:28] Oh, I thought they were like blessing us with like something nice. They're here to kill us.
Speaker 8:
[15:34] Possibly.
Speaker 9:
[15:35] Yeah, we don't know yet.
Speaker 8:
[15:37] I'll reread that description in case you need it. But these are tent shaped felines with golden flaked fur and they have, you know, six antlered head and a little bobcat tail.
Speaker 12:
[15:48] When you say tent shaped, are we talking like a one or two or eight person tent? Like, you know, is it the...
Speaker 8:
[15:54] It's all the same shape, isn't it?
Speaker 12:
[15:56] I mean...
Speaker 9:
[15:56] Or is it like a teepee?
Speaker 12:
[15:58] There's so many different variations and sizes of tents, you know. You have your like classic two posts at either end, you know, like Snoopy would sleep in.
Speaker 9:
[16:07] Is it a circus tent?
Speaker 10:
[16:08] There's circus. Very good.
Speaker 12:
[16:10] Very good. There's like the new ones that have like the crossing poles.
Speaker 8:
[16:14] Those are new?
Speaker 12:
[16:14] There's, you know, all sorts of...
Speaker 8:
[16:17] Let's say like a Snoopy House tent. Let's keep it easy.
Speaker 9:
[16:21] Yeah, okay. Okay. So this is like Cat Bus, but it's cat tent?
Speaker 15:
[16:26] Yes.
Speaker 9:
[16:27] With antlers and a bobcat tail?
Speaker 15:
[16:29] Yes.
Speaker 9:
[16:30] Okay. Natty glowing in more ways than one, as she usually is glowing regardless, would step forward and go, hello, local feline fauna. My name is Natty and we are here as guests of your land.
Speaker 8:
[16:51] Make a animal handling check. And Doug, I haven't forgotten about you. We're going to get back to you in just a second.
Speaker 9:
[16:56] Oh shoot. Did I step on Doug?
Speaker 14:
[16:57] No, no, Doug is standing over there.
Speaker 9:
[17:00] He's stiff. 17.
Speaker 8:
[17:04] The animal begins looking at you curiously. It does that thing, you know, that some animals do, where it kind of cocks its head and turns it to the side. And you hear almost like a purring sound emanate from it.
Speaker 9:
[17:15] That's usually a good sign from them, kiddies. I would slow blink at them.
Speaker 10:
[17:20] Ooh, very good.
Speaker 9:
[17:22] Gus might not know what that means for cats.
Speaker 8:
[17:26] I know, but the audience might not know. So you need to explain for the audience, Joe, what does a slow blink mean to a cat?
Speaker 12:
[17:31] I'm betting that the Tales from the Stinky Dragon audience knows cat stuff. I'm just taking a guess here.
Speaker 9:
[17:37] We got major cat lady energy from our audience and I'm here for it. Yeah. When your cat slow blinks at you, that means it's like it's calmed, it's happy, it likes you. All those things could be. It's just it's a good sign from a cat if they slow blink.
Speaker 14:
[17:53] As a dog person, I'm like dogs just wag their tails. It's easier. Right.
Speaker 9:
[17:58] Different animals communicate different ways.
Speaker 12:
[18:00] My cats will slow blink on me and drool on me, which is the ultimate sign of either a tooth infection or love.
Speaker 9:
[18:07] Or just being relaxed. So yeah, I slow blink at them.
Speaker 8:
[18:10] Yeah. You know, these are...
Speaker 9:
[18:11] What's going to do with that, Gus? Come on.
Speaker 8:
[18:13] These are felines. They know what that means. They also return a slow blink.
Speaker 9:
[18:18] OK. Hey, group, I don't think we're in imminent danger from them. However, we do have a team member who seems to be having a bit.
Speaker 2:
[18:28] Doug looks fine to me.
Speaker 12:
[18:30] Their eyes are just white.
Speaker 9:
[18:36] Might someone try to rouse our artificer? Yeah.
Speaker 8:
[18:41] Before you rouse, I want to give Doug a little bit of information here.
Speaker 9:
[18:45] How much HP has he lost?
Speaker 11:
[18:48] This gold mist gives us a long rest, right, Gus?
Speaker 8:
[18:57] Of a hard time in your communication with the Veiled Eye. I know there's a better word for it when you're talking to a deity in your...
Speaker 13:
[19:03] Communion?
Speaker 8:
[19:04] Communion. Yeah.
Speaker 13:
[19:05] Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[19:06] She's communing with the god.
Speaker 8:
[19:07] Yeah. In your communion with the Veiled Eye, you can see what appears to be a white field covered in snow, stretching as far as you can see.
Speaker 12:
[19:18] Hey, guys, Doug's got a gold mist on his prog.
Speaker 17:
[19:23] All right.
Speaker 8:
[19:24] Take a desperation die.
Speaker 17:
[19:25] I don't know if that's going to keep it.
Speaker 8:
[19:26] Yeah. Wow.
Speaker 2:
[19:27] That's my first one in ages.
Speaker 9:
[19:28] I don't get this joke.
Speaker 11:
[19:30] Like I peed myself?
Speaker 8:
[19:31] It's probably not going to stay in the episode, but it made me laugh.
Speaker 11:
[19:34] It wouldn't look like mist. You ever peed yourself? It's just a dark circle.
Speaker 20:
[19:40] Yeah.
Speaker 8:
[19:40] So you see what appears to be an expansive field, as far as you can see, that's like covered in white snow.
Speaker 11:
[19:48] Okay. Is this familiar to me?
Speaker 20:
[19:51] No.
Speaker 8:
[19:52] I'll just say no. No need for a word.
Speaker 11:
[19:53] Okay. Could I try walking around?
Speaker 8:
[19:56] Yeah. You begin walking and it seems like it's endless. Nothing is different than anything else. It's as far as you can see. It almost seems like you're not even walking. Like there's no progress being made in any direction.
Speaker 11:
[20:08] Like one of those liminal spaces or something like that?
Speaker 8:
[20:11] Yeah.
Speaker 12:
[20:11] Can Doug hear Pink Floyd?
Speaker 8:
[20:13] Hello?
Speaker 17:
[20:14] Is there anybody in there?
Speaker 11:
[20:16] Did Doug accidentally eat some vegetable from the ground that he did not recognize?
Speaker 14:
[20:20] Did you eat some sludgeberries?
Speaker 7:
[20:22] Sludgeberries?
Speaker 20:
[20:23] If you eat too many.
Speaker 11:
[20:26] Could I try calling out?
Speaker 14:
[20:27] Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[20:28] Hello? Can anybody hear me? This is Doug Boone. I don't know where I am.
Speaker 14:
[20:34] What's happening on our side?
Speaker 20:
[20:37] Alive or dead, Boone?
Speaker 8:
[20:40] Doug, you received no reply and your voice doesn't even echo. It's like it's being absorbed. You know, like when you're like in a soundproof room and you you know, you're doing something, you're recording something. And it's just like the walls are dead. There's no no no reverb, almost like a vacuum.
Speaker 11:
[20:55] I hate that. Makes you feel so claustrophobic.
Speaker 8:
[20:59] Chris, to your question, Doug's just standing there. His eyes are, you know, milky white. And he's just seems like he's totally seized up and tensed up.
Speaker 14:
[21:07] Could we go to Doug and like kind of Doug shake him and be like, Doug, are you okay? Shaky shaky.
Speaker 8:
[21:16] Yeah, when you shake Doug, he instantly snaps to and rejoins you. Doug, from your perspective, you know, you're in this white void and all of a sudden it's almost like a jump scare. You see a ghastly glimpse of your brother, Phil, reaching out to you. His chest pierced with a familiar axe and then his apparition quickly fades as Gunther shakes you back to this reality.
Speaker 14:
[21:42] You saw your god?
Speaker 11:
[21:46] I saw my brother.
Speaker 14:
[21:48] That's nice.
Speaker 11:
[21:51] It was the moment he died.
Speaker 14:
[21:52] Oh, that was not nice then.
Speaker 17:
[21:54] That's not nice at all.
Speaker 11:
[21:56] But I don't know, I just saw white and there was no one around and I felt like I was kind of trapped. I don't know what it was.
Speaker 14:
[22:04] Well, you're back now here.
Speaker 9:
[22:06] Nanny takes the headphones we put on Doug that was playing Climbing Up That Hill off of him now.
Speaker 12:
[22:13] Wait, do we know that the Veiled Eye was communicating with one of us or has this been completely in the mind of one of her?
Speaker 9:
[22:21] I don't think we saw any of that, but we did, like, we suggested that Doug do a prayer, and so this happened, like, mid-prayer. Okay. So externally, Doug went from praying to having a bit of an issue.
Speaker 12:
[22:35] So maybe this has something to do with you praying to the Veiled Eye?
Speaker 14:
[22:39] Yes.
Speaker 11:
[22:40] Maybe, but also, strangely enough, like, the Veiled Eye said that they're not where they're supposed to be, but they're where we should be. But I also don't know where he was.
Speaker 17:
[22:52] Who's on first?
Speaker 11:
[22:53] That's a great question.
Speaker 14:
[22:55] That is us. Perplexing for certain.
Speaker 8:
[22:59] All four of you make me a perception check with advantage.
Speaker 17:
[23:03] Got it.
Speaker 14:
[23:03] Also, look at the kitties.
Speaker 9:
[23:10] Fifteen out of ten.
Speaker 8:
[23:13] All of you roll decent enough. So all of you here, like a loud crack in the distance from what appears to be that fortress that you all saw in the Veiled Veil.
Speaker 14:
[23:24] That was like hanging like on a rope or something, right?
Speaker 8:
[23:27] That was a separate building.
Speaker 9:
[23:28] Glacial Fortress.
Speaker 8:
[23:30] Yeah, I'll re-describe that for you here in a second. But as you hear that crack, all of these feline creatures that were out around you take off running like a like a bolt into the distance.
Speaker 14:
[23:40] Oh, bye bye.
Speaker 12:
[23:41] We weren't done with you.
Speaker 11:
[23:42] Someone put a cucumber.
Speaker 12:
[23:46] That's how I communicate with my cats.
Speaker 11:
[23:47] Your cat's right behind you right now.
Speaker 12:
[23:49] It works.
Speaker 9:
[23:53] Your cat didn't react at all when you made that noise by the way.
Speaker 17:
[23:57] Just learn to ignore.
Speaker 1:

Speaker 8:
[28:29] So, just to recap the scene here, since Chris asked about it, in the valley, in the Veiled Vale, it's a valley that's blanketed with darkness except for moonlight. In it, you see a glacial fortress, which was the source of the sound. Besides that, or in addition to that, you see a spherical building that sways between two dead trees. I think that's what you were talking about, Chris. And then on top of that as well, not literally, in addition to that, you also see a labyrinth gated by a familiar-looking golden mist.
Speaker 14:
[29:00] Labyrinth.
Speaker 9:
[29:01] Hey, you said there was a crack?
Speaker 8:
[29:04] Yeah, like a loud cracking sound.
Speaker 14:
[29:06] Like ice cracking?
Speaker 12:
[29:07] Or like a whoosh, like some sort of archaeologist on the hunt?
Speaker 8:
[29:15] It's hard to say because of the reverb from the veil and the distance, but it sounded like it was something very big, not like a small, not like a whip crack, but like a more thunderous sounding crack.
Speaker 12:
[29:27] So it's a glacial palace or fortress, so ice, maybe it was like the cracking of...
Speaker 14:
[29:34] Cracking of ice.
Speaker 12:
[29:35] Movement of, yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 14:
[29:37] Could we move to investigate?
Speaker 8:
[29:38] Yeah, at this point, it's up to you guys. You have these three different areas that are here in the Veiled Veil that are available for investigation.
Speaker 9:
[29:47] Should we take maybe a short rest for our friend Doug to recover from his little issue? Or should we proceed with haste because the sound just happened?
Speaker 11:
[29:57] Probably we should go with haste.
Speaker 9:
[30:00] Okay.
Speaker 11:
[30:01] I still have half my HP.
Speaker 9:
[30:02] Okay, yeah, then we're good. I just wanted to check on my buddy Doug, you know.
Speaker 11:
[30:06] Thanks, Natty. It's nice to have a mother figure around.
Speaker 9:
[30:10] Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[30:10] And a father figure in a total...
Speaker 18:
[30:15] You tried, you tried.
Speaker 10:
[30:18] I mean, Bjorn's here too, you know.
Speaker 8:
[30:20] You can claim to Bjorn's skin.
Speaker 14:
[30:21] The father figure that he's... that totally is wearing.
Speaker 9:
[30:26] Okay, then yeah, I guess Natty with probably the group would start walking towards the fortress.
Speaker 10:
[30:32] Sounds good.
Speaker 14:
[30:33] This bee should be sneaky like, and maybe Natty, you should stay in the back because you are glowing.
Speaker 12:
[30:39] Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[30:39] Sure, that way if they shoot something at me, it'll hit you guys first as it travels through our country.
Speaker 14:
[30:44] Exactly.
Speaker 11:
[30:46] Yeah, let's go to where we heard the crack.
Speaker 12:
[30:47] I found a new curse word.
Speaker 2:
[30:49] Another figure.
Speaker 8:
[30:51] Another figure.
Speaker 11:
[30:52] Go figure.
Speaker 8:
[30:53] And I know I mentioned it at the top, but just as a quick reminder, because I think I said it very quickly in passing, you all had also disguised yourselves.
Speaker 21:
[31:03] That's right.
Speaker 8:
[31:04] To look like Undarians.
Speaker 9:
[31:06] Undarians.
Speaker 21:
[31:07] Yeah.
Speaker 8:
[31:07] Except I think, Natty, you may not have disguised yourself. I think you went into the ring for that portion.
Speaker 21:
[31:12] Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[31:12] I can turn into an Undarian.
Speaker 8:
[31:14] You've got the skills for that.
Speaker 12:
[31:15] But do we know if this is Undarian controlled though? I mean, well, okay, sorry. We have a lot of investigating to do.
Speaker 8:
[31:20] So remind me, you said you were going to investigate the fortress, is that correct?
Speaker 14:
[31:27] Where the crack came from.
Speaker 8:
[31:28] It's what seems like it came from.
Speaker 14:
[31:30] Yeah.
Speaker 8:
[31:30] Yeah. You get closer and you walk in that direction and you see what appears to be a castle-sized glacier dripping with water. And there's two large solid ice doors, a pair of armored dredge guards on either side of it.
Speaker 14:
[31:46] Armored dredge. Those are Andarian.
Speaker 8:
[31:48] Yeah. You encountered these before. Oh, wait.
Speaker 9:
[31:50] Dredges are Andarians?
Speaker 8:
[31:51] Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[31:52] Oh, they are.
Speaker 11:
[31:53] I'm curious why, like, the Veiled Veil, which is, you know, the place of the Veiled Eye, would be under Andarian control.
Speaker 9:
[32:02] Well, there's a war going on.
Speaker 11:
[32:03] Yeah.
Speaker 14:
[32:04] And also the places the gods are are not where they should be.
Speaker 11:
[32:10] Deep.
Speaker 9:
[32:10] Okay. Well, since we're all in garb of, like, an Andarian, we could approach us and try to talk to these guys.
Speaker 11:
[32:18] Yeah. If our disguises are convincing enough.
Speaker 9:
[32:21] Well, maybe. I mean, I don't want to butt in front, but I am a charming individual, and I myself can actually change my visage to be, like, convincing an Andarian. And I have a baby that, well, the baby is on your shoulders or on your head.
Speaker 8:
[32:38] Right.
Speaker 11:
[32:39] Oh, right.
Speaker 9:
[32:40] We can put him back on.
Speaker 11:
[32:41] Was he on my shoulders and head the whole time I was in my trance?
Speaker 9:
[32:44] Yeah, we could put him.
Speaker 8:
[32:45] Oh, you have no idea what's going on.
Speaker 9:
[32:48] Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's asleep.
Speaker 11:
[32:50] Yeah, I think that's a good idea. I think you should talk to them. We'll stand here and, you know, be on guard.
Speaker 13:
[32:56] Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[32:57] So now listen real quick again, I know I'm not in charge, but I have picked up on the pattern of our group of individuals. Silence is an option when asked a question that would require some sort of lie and deceptive answer. Mate, mate.
Speaker 12:
[33:14] Is there something on my face?
Speaker 13:
[33:15] Maybe, maybe we don't opt for that.
Speaker 9:
[33:18] So we don't give away our game right away. Let's like maybe wait till we get inside the fortress till we let them know they should point their swords at us.
Speaker 7:
[33:28] Yeah, you guys hear that?
Speaker 8:
[33:30] Tell that to Monther.
Speaker 9:
[33:34] I don't want to stifle you all participating. So don't take it that way, please. I welcome your addition to our, our ruse. I just mean, well, maybe, maybe if you're, you don't have the best poker face, don't, don't, uh, fib.
Speaker 8:
[33:47] That's a, that's a valuable life lesson in general.
Speaker 12:
[33:50] Well, I was just looking around.
Speaker 11:
[33:51] I feel like this is targeted at all three of us somehow.
Speaker 9:
[33:56] Natty wants to, is trying to say this in the most caring way possible, because I don't actually, Jon actually doesn't want to actually tell you guys.
Speaker 11:
[34:01] Of course.
Speaker 13:
[34:01] Don't talk at all.
Speaker 9:
[34:02] But Natty would pick up on this pattern of what we do.
Speaker 8:
[34:05] All right, so.
Speaker 9:
[34:06] All right, let's talk.
Speaker 13:
[34:08] Hello, fellas.
Speaker 8:
[34:10] Natty, just, just for, just for, to build the scene, let's say, why don't you describe how you make yourself look?
Speaker 9:
[34:17] I would look.
Speaker 8:
[34:18] Let me, before you answer that, like, let me re-read you a description of what the dretches look like in case that influences your, your decision at all.
Speaker 9:
[34:26] Sure, it probably won't.
Speaker 8:
[34:28] So the dretches are greenish gorilla-like undarians that are covered in fested, Oh, yeah. Fetid pustules and boils. They have gnarly curled claws and fangs, and they're armored with plates.
Speaker 9:
[34:40] Okay. And actually, Natty, you bring it up, Gus. When we were looking out at that army that the, that Infernus was with, did we see those kind of fellows? Or were there other kinds of Undarians? I'm just curious, because I think the dretches are the last time I've heard you describe the Undarians.
Speaker 8:
[34:55] Yeah, there were multiple types of creatures among which were dretches as well. Okay. And real fast. Yeah, Micah brings up a point. I just want to clarify real fast. There have been a few others we've described, like the Grelps, Daemon Grols. So there have been a few, but which were in the column that we're marching, as well as other types of Undarians that you have not seen before.
Speaker 12:
[35:17] The dretches were the ones that were attacking Neo and Tio.
Speaker 8:
[35:20] Yes.
Speaker 18:
[35:20] They stole their bits.
Speaker 11:
[35:22] Yeah. And wasn't one of the prisoners a dretch in the...? Yeah.
Speaker 21:
[35:28] Oh, what was his name again?
Speaker 11:
[35:30] Stitches.
Speaker 14:
[35:31] Wait, prisoner?
Speaker 8:
[35:32] In the prison?
Speaker 11:
[35:33] In Skyfall Falls?
Speaker 17:
[35:35] Oh, prisoner.
Speaker 11:
[35:38] The place we broke you out, Canto.
Speaker 14:
[35:40] There was another prison.
Speaker 17:
[35:42] There was?
Speaker 11:
[35:43] In his campaign?
Speaker 14:
[35:43] In the first cave we explored.
Speaker 8:
[35:45] Oh, way back under.
Speaker 14:
[35:48] And we put a creature in it, like a wolf or something.
Speaker 8:
[35:51] Oh, I don't know if that was...
Speaker 11:
[35:54] Oh, wasn't...
Speaker 8:
[35:56] I don't think it was strictly a prison. It was a daemon girl that you put in there. But yeah, anyway, yeah, we're like down the rabbit hole there. I know. What does Natty look like?
Speaker 9:
[36:08] Natty would want to look like Daemona from Gargoyles. So, like...
Speaker 12:
[36:13] You know Gus.
Speaker 9:
[36:14] Huh?
Speaker 12:
[36:14] I said, you know Gus.
Speaker 9:
[36:15] You know Gus. Does Daemona, Daemona, what's her name? It's the girl.
Speaker 12:
[36:21] Yeah, the red hair.
Speaker 9:
[36:22] Is it Daemona?
Speaker 8:
[36:23] Daemona, yeah, yeah, yeah. I looked her up.
Speaker 9:
[36:26] I thought I was getting gas lit in the chat. And but but maybe hairier, like the dretches.
Speaker 11:
[36:31] Daemona.
Speaker 9:
[36:34] Yeah, the Italian gargoyle from these gargoyles.
Speaker 8:
[36:38] OK, I never saw gargoyles, but I just did a quick Google search here. I got you. I see.
Speaker 9:
[36:42] OK.
Speaker 8:
[36:43] Gargoyle, tail, wings, red hair, hairier.
Speaker 9:
[36:46] Yeah. And she would be hairier. But like, yeah, a little bit of like a tattered clothing. Yeah.
Speaker 8:
[36:51] Yeah. You approach the head and and glowing, of course. I forget that very important detail and glowing. You approach the gate and as you do the dredges, step forward and block almost in unison. They both say, hold.
Speaker 9:
[37:08] I have an idea.
Speaker 7:
[37:09] Yeah, Tolv, please share your idea with class.
Speaker 8:
[37:11] I like how you said if you're not good at bluffing, don't say anything.
Speaker 15:
[37:15] And the first bit of communication.
Speaker 17:
[37:19] Tolv, what do you want to say?
Speaker 9:
[37:22] Is this something Tolv needs to share in game or is this something meta speak you want to share?
Speaker 12:
[37:27] I mean, I kind of want to let it play, but I also don't want to take command.
Speaker 9:
[37:30] OK, OK. Hey, you know what? I'm not here to stifle anybody.
Speaker 13:
[37:33] That's not my job.
Speaker 8:
[37:35] So they say halt and Tolv bravely steps forward and.
Speaker 2:
[37:39] Yeah, it's cool. Our friend Stitches sent us here, you know, maybe you know him as Smiley, old pal of ours, maybe you know him.
Speaker 12:
[37:47] He's a dredge.
Speaker 2:
[37:48] We're all dredges. We're all cool.
Speaker 16:
[37:50] We're all dredges.
Speaker 10:
[37:52] We're all cool with dredges.
Speaker 13:
[37:53] Yeah, that's why I said stop lying.
Speaker 9:
[37:55] Guys, that's why you don't look like a dredge. You look like someone's skin inside out on a robot.
Speaker 2:
[37:59] No, we're all like, we're all cool.
Speaker 18:
[38:00] We're all cool with the dredges.
Speaker 11:
[38:01] I think we're all in disguise too.
Speaker 20:
[38:03] Yeah, yeah, you are in disguise.
Speaker 9:
[38:05] Yeah, couldn't even wait. Couldn't just, just out the gate.
Speaker 8:
[38:08] One of them steps forward and kind of puts a finger in your chest hole and taps at your chest and just says, Axis denied.
Speaker 10:
[38:18] Oh, I pull his finger and I go, come on man, we're all pals here. We're all, we're all Lutendarians.
Speaker 8:
[38:26] Tov, you specifically make me a perception check.
Speaker 17:
[38:31] Okay.
Speaker 10:
[38:34] Nice.
Speaker 8:
[38:35] You know, you look down at where he was tapping you in the chest and then you look at the dredge and then you look at the other dredge and you realize that the two of them are wearing breastplates that look, that have the same sigil on the front.
Speaker 12:
[38:49] Do I recognize the sigil?
Speaker 8:
[38:50] Make me a religion check.
Speaker 17:
[38:54] Okay.
Speaker 10:
[38:57] That's a one.
Speaker 17:
[39:03] I'm gonna use my inspiration dice.
Speaker 12:
[39:06] Oh, I just had it. It wasn't even warm in my pocket yet.
Speaker 8:
[39:09] It wasn't even warm in your pocket?
Speaker 12:
[39:10] Yeah, just put it in there.
Speaker 8:
[39:11] Oh, cause it was cold. Okay, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
Speaker 12:
[39:13] That's a seven.
Speaker 8:
[39:15] Both of those breastplates on the dretches are frosty fangs on blue breastplate, but you don't recognize them. They do not ring a bell to you. And then the dretch points at his own breastplate and says, access granted.
Speaker 21:
[39:28] Oh, so it's like a symbol they have?
Speaker 8:
[39:30] Seems like it. It's just a symbol on both of their breastplates.
Speaker 11:
[39:33] You said frosty fangs?
Speaker 8:
[39:35] Yeah, on a blue breastplate.
Speaker 21:
[39:37] On a blue breastplate?
Speaker 8:
[39:39] Nattie, since you're also there and you're in the front, I want you to make me a perception check as well.
Speaker 10:
[39:45] I warmed them up for you.
Speaker 18:
[39:47] Thank you. Thank you so much.
Speaker 8:
[39:50] He's so pleased with himself. Just as, you know, this is going on and Toll of is talking to these dretches, you know, you kind of take in this, who would you call it? This glacier, this fortress that's in front of you. And like I mentioned earlier, you notice that all of the walls appear to be dripping and, you know, water runs down the front of the, well, actually runs out all sides. But you're looking at it. You can see water running down the front of the glacier. And it's pooling up and causing there to be almost like rivers and canals of water that flow out from and into the glacier, depending on the elevation.
Speaker 9:
[40:30] You guys having some sort of heating problem? It seems like your domicile is disintegrating.
Speaker 8:
[40:35] Oh, that's an excellent point. What would they say to that? I think to that they both would laugh and nod and then give each other a high five.
Speaker 11:
[40:47] It's like if that's something like they want to be happening kind of thing.
Speaker 8:
[40:51] I'm thinking more like just happy to see something destroyed or indifference about it all. No, that's very good.
Speaker 9:
[41:03] Here's what Nadya's gonna try to do. Nattie is going to turn around as though she's reaching for something in her bag and by doing that, she would cover her chest and then while she turns around, she would change her image to have that breastplate on her that they have and make a little motion like she was pulling something out of her bag and putting it on her chest.
Speaker 13:
[41:26] Sure.
Speaker 9:
[41:27] And then go, sorry, I forgot to be wearing my pass to get in. You guys are doing such a good job. Keen eyes, you two.
Speaker 13:
[41:35] Right?
Speaker 9:
[41:36] All right. So access granted. Correctamundo.
Speaker 11:
[41:41] Correctamundo.
Speaker 8:
[41:42] Just for fun, make me a persuasion check, Nattie.
Speaker 11:
[41:45] Just for fun.
Speaker 9:
[41:46] Nattie makes persuasion checks for fun. 16 plus 4. Dirty 20.
Speaker 2:
[41:52] All right.
Speaker 8:
[41:53] So dirty. I think when they see that, they would kind of ease up and they would, you know, what would say, access granted. And then the reason I had you make a persuasion check was to see if I was to be difficult about your party members not having the same thing.
Speaker 9:
[42:08] Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get it. I get it. You know, when you pull up to the club and you're the only one on the list, you're trying to vouch for your friends.
Speaker 12:
[42:14] Yeah, Jon knows that feeling.
Speaker 9:
[42:15] Yeah, yeah. 100%. Been to so many clubs.
Speaker 8:
[42:19] Yeah, man. And to the rest of you, to the other three of you, they'll wave you in.
Speaker 15:
[42:22] And then one of them would say, put on the breastplate of the Frostbiter right away.
Speaker 12:
[42:27] Oh, Frostbiter.
Speaker 8:
[42:28] That's a new one.
Speaker 12:
[42:29] Yeah.
Speaker 13:
[42:30] Where? Where?
Speaker 9:
[42:31] Hey, remind me, where are those once we get inside? Have you moved them?
Speaker 8:
[42:35] They would just kind of point in and say, Armory.
Speaker 9:
[42:40] That makes sense.
Speaker 11:
[42:40] Oh, that makes sense. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 9:
[42:42] Yeah, yeah, that makes sense. All right.
Speaker 11:
[42:44] I probably could have figured that one out, Daddy.
Speaker 12:
[42:47] Thank you, Doug.
Speaker 9:
[42:47] Can you write that one down?
Speaker 8:
[42:50] Armory.
Speaker 12:
[42:54] Does Tolv recognize this place because it being a glacial sort of environment and that's he's been to a lot of those places and things?
Speaker 8:
[43:02] This particular place does not seem familiar to you. But yeah, this is like a place Tolv may have haunted at some point in the past. No, not that. They may have visited at some point in the past.
Speaker 11:
[43:15] Okay, got it.
Speaker 9:
[43:17] Did the doors open?
Speaker 8:
[43:18] Yeah, the doors open up. They swing wide open and you all can walk into this fortress.
Speaker 9:
[43:24] And he starts humming, let it go and just kind of walks in.
Speaker 12:
[43:27] Do you guys see Smiley?
Speaker 2:
[43:28] Tell him we said hey.
Speaker 8:
[43:30] You walk into the fortress and you see a few different points of interest inside. Within the fortress are contained what appeared to be an enormous dragon statue furnace. In addition to that, you see floating ice rafts and igloos on some of those canals, like I mentioned earlier, that are going through the fortress here.
Speaker 14:
[43:50] Like floating in the air?
Speaker 8:
[43:52] No, in the canals, like in those water canals, like from the water that's dripping down.
Speaker 14:
[43:57] That makes more sense.
Speaker 9:
[44:00] You know, air canals.
Speaker 8:
[44:01] Yeah, making canals and they're floating in that. And in addition to that, you see some kind of giant crane mechanism that appears to be controlled by some spinning wheels. And inside this fortress, the air is very warm and humid from, like it's not only the furnace, but from smaller fires throughout.
Speaker 12:
[44:21] Does the giant crane mechanism or whatever's creating that heat, does that seem like a foreign object that isn't typically here? Like does it seem out of place in the kind of aesthetic of this land?
Speaker 8:
[44:33] I would say all of this seems like it should be, aside from the glacier, all of this seems like this shouldn't be here.
Speaker 11:
[44:43] Yeah. Because I imagine, like I don't imagine the Undarians live in an ice climate, and this is something maybe they've like taken over.
Speaker 14:
[44:53] They're doing it because they are more natural. They need the heat. They're inclined, and so they need, they're heating it so they can stay here.
Speaker 17:
[45:00] What's that term called?
Speaker 12:
[45:02] Where you're...
Speaker 11:
[45:03] Acclimating?
Speaker 12:
[45:03] Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[45:04] No.
Speaker 12:
[45:05] They did it in Superman. Jon, what do they do?
Speaker 9:
[45:07] Terraforming? Yeah.
Speaker 8:
[45:09] I just want to, real fast, before we get too far from it, Barbara, take an inspiration die. That was some good sleuthing that you did there.
Speaker 11:
[45:16] Oh, yay. Well, by the help of the whole team.
Speaker 9:
[45:19] And so there's dretches all milling around, like there's more?
Speaker 8:
[45:24] Seems like they're coming to and fro and moving around doing various tasks.
Speaker 9:
[45:29] I put my hand out to stop the closest one and be like, hey, Chum, where's the armory?
Speaker 8:
[45:35] Chum. Without saying anything, the dretch turns around and points at one of the igloos that's floating down the canal.
Speaker 9:
[45:42] Perfect.
Speaker 10:
[45:42] How did you know Chum's name?
Speaker 9:
[45:48] Mr. Chum. Nattie's skilled in cold reads. Then yeah, can we walk towards the army? Because I want to get these guys their passes to the rides.
Speaker 10:
[45:56] Sure.
Speaker 8:
[45:57] You walk over to it and it's, you know, it's floating down the canal. So you have to move kind of quickly to catch up to it.
Speaker 9:
[46:04] It's like Frogger.
Speaker 15:
[46:05] Yeah.
Speaker 2:
[46:05] What the way?
Speaker 15:
[46:06] Oh, I can do good here.
Speaker 11:
[46:10] What do you mean, coach?
Speaker 8:
[46:12] The way I think of it, then I, again, for anyone who is new to the show, which I can't imagine you'd be new jumping in this episode.
Speaker 11:
[46:21] If you are, leave a comment. I'm so curious.
Speaker 8:
[46:24] Micah writes the modules and there's so much detail in them. And I'm just a conduit for the story that Micah's creating and these worlds that he imagined. You're the prophet. In my mind's eye, thinking about the layout and the way that these igloos and these rafts are floating through the fortress. It's like a lazy river, like at a water park. Or just like very slowly moving through. And there's no drunk people in tubes here. Instead, it's just ice rafts and...
Speaker 11:
[46:50] It's my favorite part.
Speaker 8:
[46:51] And igloos that are slowly floating around through the area. Okay.
Speaker 12:
[46:56] Looks like San Antonio on a cold day.
Speaker 8:
[46:59] You are pretty... It's pretty easy to catch up to the igloo that the dredge pointed at. And I guess you wanna like try to hop over, hop in. What's your plate here?
Speaker 9:
[47:09] Yeah. Yeah. I imagine that would be the only way we would get inside, right?
Speaker 17:
[47:12] Yeah.
Speaker 8:
[47:13] The igloo is domed and enclosed. And if you had to estimate, it's probably 10 feet by 10 feet. And there's like an ore sticking out of it that appears to be guiding it and maybe giving it a little propulsion.
Speaker 9:
[47:28] Okay.
Speaker 17:
[47:28] That's fun.
Speaker 8:
[47:29] I won't make you make checks or anything. But yeah, you hop over into or onto this platform with the igloo and step inside and inside you see a wooden rack holding breastplates of the frostbiter and a couple of other various items.
Speaker 9:
[47:47] I'm asking this to Gus, but also the rest of the group. We have frostbiter? That a term we've heard previously or no?
Speaker 11:
[47:53] I don't think so. It doesn't ring a bell to me now.
Speaker 8:
[47:56] Okay.
Speaker 9:
[47:57] Okay.
Speaker 14:
[47:58] Could I equip my breastplate and then also, what are the other items, various items?
Speaker 8:
[48:04] I'll tell you what, I'm going to put this on you, Chris. Roll me a D4.
Speaker 14:
[48:07] With pleasure. Three.
Speaker 12:
[48:10] With pleasure, kind of like with advantage or disadvantage.
Speaker 14:
[48:13] Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[48:14] That just means you're happy to roll.
Speaker 11:
[48:15] Oh, it's with both so that it ends up just canceling each other out. Okay. Okay.
Speaker 8:
[48:21] It appears to be a shirt made of ice is one of the items there.
Speaker 21:
[48:25] A shirt made of ice.
Speaker 9:
[48:27] Would you call it an ice tea?
Speaker 11:
[48:28] Hey! Group inspiration die for Jon.
Speaker 8:
[48:33] Take an inspiration die.
Speaker 1:
[48:34] That's good. That's really good.
Speaker 8:
[48:35] Yes.
Speaker 9:
[48:35] Just to be clear, I didn't want to make that joke because I don't like puns, but I couldn't.
Speaker 11:
[48:40] Jon, I get it. It's a compulsion. When a good one hits, you have to.
Speaker 12:
[48:45] It's like vomit. You just can't hold it back.
Speaker 18:
[48:46] You just got to get it out.
Speaker 9:
[48:48] You should let it come out, not hold it in.
Speaker 14:
[48:51] Okay. Can I try and put one on? Is it actually cold?
Speaker 8:
[48:54] Yeah. You grab it and put it on. It's very stiff. It's almost like a piece of cloth that got wet and then frozen.
Speaker 11:
[49:05] Do you think this one goes in the dryer or do you have to hang to dry?
Speaker 8:
[49:08] Well, yeah, you might as well put it on.
Speaker 9:
[49:10] I think it goes in the fridge.
Speaker 8:
[49:13] It's very crinkly and cracked.
Speaker 14:
[49:15] I do not care for this coldness.
Speaker 20:
[49:18] It's good look on you, though.
Speaker 15:
[49:19] You look very cool.
Speaker 14:
[49:21] Yeah, I've also donned my, what is it called? Eelskin hat.
Speaker 12:
[49:25] Oh, thank God. Who could forget? Wait, is that the Bicorne hat?
Speaker 9:
[49:30] Yeah, there's no one else in the armory, right?
Speaker 8:
[49:33] No.
Speaker 9:
[49:34] OK, it's just like a coat rack kind of place.
Speaker 8:
[49:38] Yeah, there are more items if you want to keep looking, Gunther.
Speaker 14:
[49:41] Yeah, is there a weapon or something?
Speaker 8:
[49:43] Let's keep finding out. This time, I want you to roll me a d10.
Speaker 11:
[49:46] Oh, with pleasure.
Speaker 9:
[49:49] That was implied by his weird laugh.
Speaker 11:
[49:51] Yeah.
Speaker 10:
[49:52] He's a five.
Speaker 8:
[49:53] And roll me a d4.
Speaker 14:
[49:56] And that is a four.
Speaker 8:
[49:57] You see on the racks, you also notice that there's an ice helm. Oh, a helmet made of ice. It seems like it goes well with your shirts.
Speaker 14:
[50:05] Oh, I guess I have to take my hat off that I just put on the helmet and the shirt and the armor. Do we do I look properly disguised?
Speaker 8:
[50:16] I mean, you were already wearing a disguise before. You just like changed your disguise.
Speaker 14:
[50:21] No, I was in I was in Toll's back.
Speaker 8:
[50:24] Oh, right. That's right. Yeah. Yeah, it definitely looks like you're wearing a weird icy disguise at this point.
Speaker 14:
[50:32] All right.
Speaker 15:
[50:33] I feel good, but cold.
Speaker 11:
[50:36] Aren't you like used to warm climates, Gunther? Like, isn't this incredibly uncomfortable for you?
Speaker 14:
[50:40] It is very uncomfortable. This is this cold things that are get wet. I do not like.
Speaker 11:
[50:48] Well, good thing you put them on your body for the ultimate torture.
Speaker 8:
[50:53] There's one more item on the racks there, Gunther.
Speaker 14:
[50:55] Oh, that's just me.
Speaker 12:
[50:57] What ice underwear?
Speaker 8:
[50:59] Shall I roll me a D100?
Speaker 14:
[51:02] With displeasure. 49.
Speaker 8:
[51:07] Oh, and then roll me a D4.
Speaker 14:
[51:10] One.
Speaker 8:
[51:11] You see a war pick.
Speaker 14:
[51:14] War pick?
Speaker 9:
[51:15] Like a weapon, like a pickaxe.
Speaker 8:
[51:17] Yeah, but this instead of like for mining or geological purposes, this one's intended to create out cheese.
Speaker 14:
[51:23] Like how big? Like big?
Speaker 8:
[51:25] The size of a sword or an ax.
Speaker 14:
[51:26] Too big for me.
Speaker 8:
[51:29] It's got a pointed spike on one side and a hammerhead on the other. And it seems like steam is wafting off of it.
Speaker 14:
[51:35] Oh, like it's hot?
Speaker 8:
[51:37] Yeah, it's a little warm to the touch. I wouldn't say it's hot, but it's definitely a little warm to the touch.
Speaker 14:
[51:41] Can't pick it up and check it out and see if it has any why it might be so hot.
Speaker 8:
[51:45] Yeah, make a, what do we call it? Just call it an arcana check.
Speaker 11:
[51:51] Call the police and the fireman too hot.
Speaker 14:
[51:55] Eleven. Gosh darn.
Speaker 11:
[51:57] I was like, can't say that.
Speaker 8:
[51:59] It seems like it's maybe got some kind of magical imbuement that makes it warm and it causes it to steam.
Speaker 14:
[52:08] I guess I'll take that. Can I take it out and put it in my inventory?
Speaker 8:
[52:12] Yeah, call it.
Speaker 14:
[52:13] Maybe I put it in my back so I stay warm.
Speaker 8:
[52:16] How smart. You can call it the Wafting Warpick.
Speaker 11:
[52:19] Wow. Wow.
Speaker 12:
[52:21] Can't wait to never hear about that again.
Speaker 11:
[52:26] While this is happening, could Doug just grab a breastplate and put it on?
Speaker 8:
[52:29] Absolutely.
Speaker 12:
[52:29] Same with Tolf.
Speaker 8:
[52:30] Absolutely. But are you going to get a breastplate as well? Cover up your ice shirt. Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[52:34] Yeah. Yeah. Also, Natty, I don't know if you want to keep the illusion going of the breastplate or if you want to grab an actual real one.
Speaker 9:
[52:41] Yeah, I'll grab a real one and also put one on Captain Grumbles.
Speaker 8:
[52:45] Oh, my God.
Speaker 9:
[52:45] Does Gigi need one? I think Gigi is going to continue to be Doug's face or unless Doug wants to try to rough this.
Speaker 11:
[52:51] No, it's fine. He could stay.
Speaker 9:
[52:55] It's up to you. I'm just trying to keep us disguised, but if you feel like we've made it in.
Speaker 11:
[53:00] I'm getting increasingly paranoid, though, because he hasn't gone boom boom yet, and I fear that he's holding up for a real big one.
Speaker 9:
[53:08] He usually saves it either for me or for battle. He likes those two scenarios.
Speaker 11:
[53:14] Perfect.
Speaker 8:
[53:15] All right. Yeah. So you've you found your breastplates, Gunther. There's no other items here. You feel like you've you found everything that that was on the racks.
Speaker 9:
[53:23] Would the party be OK? Hey, would you all be OK if we go check out that dragon statue? I feel like that wasn't here when they built this place.
Speaker 12:
[53:31] I'm down. That sounds cool.
Speaker 11:
[53:33] Yeah, I could use a little bit of warmth. So that'd be nice.
Speaker 12:
[53:37] I'd like to admire the local art scene. Yes.
Speaker 8:
[53:40] OK. You all emerge from this igloo to find yourself in a slightly different location within the fortress. You've drifted a little bit down. Yeah, you drifted a little bit down the canal. You've moved a little bit, but you still have your bearings. You still have the lay of the land. And you all said you wanted to head over in the direction of the statue. Is that correct?
Speaker 12:
[53:59] Yes. Maybe we could hit the concession stands before we go on our next ride.
Speaker 8:
[54:05] Yeah, you hop off of the igloo and make your way over to the dragon statue furnace. And as you get closer, you get a better idea, you get a better look at it. And you see that it's a statue that's made of some kind of thick gray metal and flames and smoke pour out of exhaust grates all over it.
Speaker 12:
[54:25] Do I recognize this metal?
Speaker 8:
[54:26] Make a, what would that be? Armor? Some kind of metal? Not that it's armor. I'm just trying to think of metal things. I don't want to put ideas in your head.
Speaker 11:
[54:36] He wears it.
Speaker 12:
[54:37] Perception?
Speaker 8:
[54:38] Instead of that, make me an investigation check.
Speaker 12:
[54:42] The stat that I have four points less than, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
Speaker 8:
[54:48] You know, you're familiar with exotic metals, tolf, so you take a look at it, and you identify the metal as being tungsten. It, you know, it makes sense to you because, you know, that makes it able to withstand high temperatures. And, you know, when you get close to it and you're investigating it and, you know, looking at this metal, it almost seems like, or it sounds like the statue's breathing with the intake of air and the exhaust of all the hot air and smoke.
Speaker 12:
[55:15] So it's like an engine or something, maybe, is inside of it?
Speaker 8:
[55:19] Maybe. Maybe, or maybe it's something to like, like a bellow maybe, to like suck in fresh air and then exhaust the smoke.
Speaker 14:
[55:26] Do we see what's fueling it?
Speaker 8:
[55:28] No, no. It doesn't, you're not able to see what's fueling it. It doesn't seem like, aside from the grates for the exhaust, it doesn't seem like there's any other openings on the statue.
Speaker 11:
[55:39] You said it's a dragon, right?
Speaker 8:
[55:41] Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[55:41] This is maybe a silly question, but do any Undarians resemble dragons? Or is there any history there with Undarians worshiping dragons or having that be some type of connection?
Speaker 8:
[55:53] I thought you were going to ask if it was stinky.
Speaker 18:
[55:55] I was going to ask that.
Speaker 10:
[55:56] Dang it, Gus.
Speaker 8:
[55:57] Why don't you make a religion check to try to figure that out?
Speaker 11:
[56:00] Religion? Yeah. 30-20.
Speaker 8:
[56:03] Oh, that's pretty good. Duck normally does pretty good at religion checks. Do you have proficiency in that? Or do you have like extra?
Speaker 11:
[56:10] It's intelligent based. And I have some good intelligence, but I am proficient in religion.
Speaker 8:
[56:15] You're not 100 percent certain, but in the past, you've heard rumors that the only god that looks like a dragon is the Fire Eater.
Speaker 10:
[56:21] Oh, wait a second.
Speaker 9:
[56:23] We've seen the Fire Eater. That's my people. That's my church.
Speaker 8:
[56:25] You told me.
Speaker 9:
[56:26] Yes, that's my people. That's my church.
Speaker 8:
[56:29] I thought it sounded like a question. I was like, I'm pretty sure it is.
Speaker 11:
[56:33] The Kindlekin?
Speaker 9:
[56:35] Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[56:36] Is that what it was called?
Speaker 9:
[56:37] I don't remember.
Speaker 8:
[56:38] Yeah, it was.
Speaker 9:
[56:39] There's no one manning this at all?
Speaker 8:
[56:41] No, it just seems like it's operating autonomously on its own.
Speaker 9:
[56:45] Okay. Well, I think there's a good chance that this was brought in by the Andarian army. If they're not the original locals of this locale, then they're probably like they're messing with stuff.
Speaker 11:
[57:00] Yeah, I don't know. It seems like they brought their own stuff in here to keep it warm for them. Maybe they're looking for something here.
Speaker 12:
[57:06] Oh, some sort of like mining operation. I think we should take note of all of the different things that we could possibly like destroy to make it, you know, return back to normal.
Speaker 17:
[57:17] Global warming is a big issue for me.
Speaker 9:
[57:21] Jon has a meta question.
Speaker 8:
[57:22] Proceed.
Speaker 9:
[57:23] We headed this direction because we were trying to get away from the keep in the Andarian Army.
Speaker 8:
[57:29] Correct.
Speaker 9:
[57:30] Was there any other reason why we were going this direction to remind me of?
Speaker 8:
[57:34] Doug's looking for the Veiled Eye.
Speaker 13:
[57:37] Okay.
Speaker 8:
[57:37] They should be somewhere out over here.
Speaker 13:
[57:40] Okay.
Speaker 8:
[57:40] In this direction.
Speaker 9:
[57:41] I've, thank you. I just need to be straightened out.
Speaker 15:
[57:45] Well, I don't know.
Speaker 9:
[57:47] Is there anything else that you think we should figure out about this furnace or should we continue to explore this place?
Speaker 11:
[57:52] I don't really see anything else that we could really glean from it, but, you know, it's interesting that the Fire Eaters, you know, someone that does resemble a dragon and he's here, and, you know, Darien's are here. I don't know. There's got to be some connection.
Speaker 12:
[58:07] Didn't the Fire Eaters steal, like, the tear of the Fire Eaters from the Kindlekin? Like, I can't figure out the relationship that they have with him, you know?
Speaker 8:
[58:18] Fire Opal?
Speaker 9:
[58:19] Well, I think Doug saying that actually tracks, considering we found something of the Veiled Eye inside of the Bloodbather's temple place.
Speaker 8:
[58:30] Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[58:31] And so maybe this was the Kindlekin Fire Eater place and it's been from, I don't know.
Speaker 11:
[58:38] Maybe. Here's what happened.
Speaker 13:
[58:39] All right.
Speaker 11:
[58:40] Have you guys ever seen the movie The Holiday where they do a little house swap?
Speaker 19:
[58:44] I was going to say, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 11:
[58:46] The gods are all trying out each other's places, get away for a little bit, escape, you know, their daily lives.
Speaker 13:
[58:54] It's like wife swap, but it's god swap.
Speaker 2:
[58:57] Yeah, it feels like the gods are playing like musical chairs right now and we're all very confused.
Speaker 8:
[59:02] There was a quick reminder from Micah in chat. Fire Eater is she her.
Speaker 9:
[59:07] Thank you. I need like a diagram of our Pantheon thus far. Like they look like they unlock as we find them. Okay, well, then the other we could head over to that giant crane. If you guys think that's worth investigating.
Speaker 11:
[59:21] Yeah, definitely.
Speaker 9:
[59:22] Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[59:23] Yes. And we can move around freely because we got these brush plates. Ding, ding, ding, ding.
Speaker 8:
[59:29] Yep. Doug's so proud. You know, I think it would be neat to see some fan art on the Discord of the Pantheon. I feel like I've seen some attempts at that, like trying to connect everything every now and then. It'd be neat to see an updated version of it. That would be very cool.
Speaker 18:
[59:50] TaxAct can think of a million things more fun than filing taxes. TaxAct is going to name some now. Sitting in traffic. Folding a fitted bedsheet. Listening to your co-worker talk about his fantasy team. Digging a hole. Digging an even larger hole next to that original hole. Unfortunately, TaxAct's filing software can't make taxes fun, but TaxAct can help you get them done. TaxAct, let's get them over with.

[60:49] K-Pop Demon Hunters, Saja Boys Breakfast Meal and Huntrix Meal have just dropped at McDonald's. They're calling this a battle for the fans. What do you say to that, Rumi?
Speaker 3:
[60:58] It's not a battle.
Speaker 8:
[60:59] So glad the Saja Boys could take breakfast and give our meal the rest of the day.
Speaker 19:
[61:04] It is an honor to share.
Speaker 21:
[61:05] No, it's our honor.
Speaker 19:
[61:07] It is our larger honor.
Speaker 4:
[61:09] No, really, stop. You can really feel the respect in this battle. Pick a meal to pick a side.
Speaker 2:
[61:16] Ba-da-ba-ba-ba And participate in McDonald's while supplies last.
Speaker 8:
[61:27] Let me tell y'all are heading over towards the crane.
Speaker 2:
[61:28] Yeah, why not?
Speaker 8:
[61:29] Yeah.
Speaker 2:
[61:29] Sure.
Speaker 8:
[61:30] You all head in the direction of the spinning wheels crane mechanism. And as you get closer, you can see, it appears like there's two stone wheels, one vertical and one horizontal, and a stone pedestal with a crimson button. And on the far end, there's a crane arm mechanism with a claw. And there are two suspended wooden platforms that are hanging high, that it seems like the crane is able to reach.
Speaker 9:
[61:54] Anybody operating it?
Speaker 8:
[61:56] No.
Speaker 11:
[61:56] No hamsters?
Speaker 8:
[61:57] No hamsters.
Speaker 12:
[62:00] And so the crane, what does it seem like it was built here to do? So it's got the claw. Was it just so that it could reach those suspended platforms, or is that what is being held up by the crane?
Speaker 8:
[62:13] It seems like the crane is designed to take things and put things on those platforms, almost like some storage of some kind.
Speaker 9:
[62:19] Can we see what's on this platform?
Speaker 12:
[62:21] Yeah.
Speaker 8:
[62:22] No, they're too high. You can only see the bottoms of them.
Speaker 9:
[62:25] I probably shouldn't blow this for just this stupid thing, but Natty uses Ghostly Gaze and sees through the floor to see what's on those platforms. Cool.
Speaker 11:
[62:34] I love that.
Speaker 8:
[62:35] And that's your new ability that we talked about last episode, right? It's like X-ray vision kind of thing.
Speaker 13:
[62:39] Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[62:40] Do I get something special for using all of my new abilities first?
Speaker 11:
[62:43] I don't know.
Speaker 8:
[62:45] You get like a punch card going.
Speaker 13:
[62:47] Yeah.
Speaker 20:
[62:47] Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[62:48] Do I get a free feat?
Speaker 20:
[62:49] Yeah.
Speaker 10:
[62:49] It's called Spell Slots.
Speaker 8:
[62:51] As an action, you gain the ability to see through solid objects with dark vision to a range of 30 feet for one minute. These might be beyond 30 feet, but I'm going to play along. I don't want to like quash your using the new ability. You know, you use Ghostly Gaze to look through the bottoms of these platforms and you see various crates on top of the platform. Can you then use Ghostly Gaze to see beyond those through those crates as well?
Speaker 11:
[63:17] Okay. Nice, nice, nice, nice.
Speaker 8:
[63:19] In various crates, you see different kinds of valuables. Let's say like coins, gems, jewelry, art pieces. And additionally, on the other side, on the other platform, you see various supplies, whether it's like weapons or provisions, like lamps and things that an army might use.
Speaker 9:
[63:42] I'm having a hard time understanding what is the purpose of these hanging platforms. Are they like attached to a building or are they...
Speaker 8:
[63:50] They're just hanging from like the top of the glacier. If you had to guess, most likely, this is how they supply things like the barracks that are in the canal. They can either take items from here and put them in the barracks or take items from the barracks... I'm sorry, they say barracks, armory, and then put them up there.
Speaker 14:
[64:06] Weird.
Speaker 8:
[64:07] So it's like a way to store things out of the way and then bring them down for use or then take those things back up and put them away.
Speaker 11:
[64:15] I think it's how they built the pyramids.
Speaker 9:
[64:17] I don't think it was.
Speaker 14:
[64:20] And then put them in the river or the little boats and stuff and send them away.
Speaker 8:
[64:25] Exactly.
Speaker 9:
[64:26] And it keeps their food safe if bears come around.
Speaker 8:
[64:29] Things can come in and then be loaded up there for storage or things can be taken down and then put down for use. So think of like, this is an army, this is a conflict. Think of things like pillaging and loot that might be stored or provisions, food, breastplate supplies that an army might need.
Speaker 9:
[64:47] Okay. Well, Tain, I feel like we've been investigating for a bit and I'm not close to any sort of answers of what this place's deal is. Should we try and find someone to talk to?
Speaker 21:
[65:00] Yes, you could do that.
Speaker 9:
[65:02] Or does anybody else have a suggestion of next steps inside of this glacier?
Speaker 12:
[65:05] The only other place I can think is the one that's on the outside hanging from the two trees, but we never did get to the bottom of what that crack was coming from here.
Speaker 14:
[65:15] I think the crack was the ice cracking, splitting the glacier down the middle because of the dragon.
Speaker 11:
[65:23] Do we see any big cracks in this ice fortress area?
Speaker 8:
[65:27] Yeah, you definitely see fissures and cracks forming within the glacier, presumably from the heat, especially from that dragon statue. It's causing it to melt.
Speaker 10:
[65:37] You know what?
Speaker 14:
[65:38] We may not be good in here, isn't it?
Speaker 10:
[65:40] It could collapse.
Speaker 12:
[65:42] Yeah, this place is like a ticking time bomb.
Speaker 8:
[65:45] As you all are up here looking at the wheels of the mechanism for the crane, you hear a shout in the distance, and a voice calls out, Give me an update on the Vanguard! And you see Infernis walking by, followed by a horde of Hungarians who seem to be catering to her and trying to take care of her.
Speaker 12:
[66:05] I guess it's time to introduce ourselves.
Speaker 13:
[66:08] I kind of want to.
Speaker 9:
[66:09] I kind of want to. I didn't want to make a choice for the group, but my instinct was like, I think Natty will go up and talk to Infernis.
Speaker 8:
[66:18] Listening to the intrusive thoughts.
Speaker 11:
[66:20] I somehow feel like Infernis would have a better idea of like who is actually an Undarian.
Speaker 14:
[66:27] Is there a way we can stealthily assassinate them? I don't know. Spy on them?
Speaker 11:
[66:33] Yeah, like maybe stay where we are, but stay hidden so we could listen to the conversation happening.
Speaker 8:
[66:38] Yeah, I guess that's what I was going to ask. Like, what do you mean by spy? Like stay here and kind of like tune in and...
Speaker 13:
[66:45] Where are they exactly?
Speaker 8:
[66:46] Like off in the distance, I'd say probably let's say 60, 70 feet away. Let's call it 80, 80 feet away.
Speaker 14:
[66:52] Is there anything we could do like based in the space? I don't know what, are they just standing there?
Speaker 8:
[66:58] No, it's just like moving by quickly, walking through with this port of attendance.
Speaker 14:
[67:03] The other dudes that we've seen milling about, what are they, or do they have busy jobs that we could pretend to be doing as well so that we don't stand out?
Speaker 8:
[67:13] It seems like no one's doing a job per se. People are just walking to and from the igloos.
Speaker 12:
[67:20] I have a way that we could give it up on that crane for a better vantage point. I don't know if we want to do that.
Speaker 8:
[67:25] But to answer your more immediate question, Barbara, you hear the Undarians kind of replying to Infernis about the status of the Vanguard. Why don't you make me a, I'm trying to debate here, either like an investigation perception or maybe a stealth. Let's call it a stealth check to see, you know, how much you're able to garner from this.
Speaker 12:
[67:48] Okay.
Speaker 11:
[67:50] Dirty 20.
Speaker 8:
[67:50] Oh, nice.
Speaker 11:
[67:52] Dirty 20. Dirty 20.
Speaker 8:
[67:53] My pleasure. You hear various voices answering in Infernis, reporting in.
Speaker 21:
[67:58] Fort Meadow is easily overtaken. However, there are no signs of the Veiled Eye.
Speaker 14:
[68:03] So they were looking for the Veiled Eye.
Speaker 11:
[68:07] So it seems like the Undarians are just taking over all these different places.
Speaker 21:
[68:10] Also, reports are coming in of four more Italian soldiers missing from the front. There's a heck of a lot more missing than that.
Speaker 12:
[68:18] Their data is wrong. They're missing all the humans too.
Speaker 8:
[68:21] It's a field of war, you know. The information, it's key and it's hard to get, hard to come by.
Speaker 12:
[68:27] Okay, so to like keep track, right now they're looking for the Veiled Eye and they're also looking for the Sea Drinker. Or maybe was the Sea Drinker just being chased by... Oh my God, who's my big bad?
Speaker 11:
[68:39] They're looking for the Pathfinder.
Speaker 8:
[68:41] They're looking for the Pathfinder.
Speaker 12:
[68:42] Pathfinder, yes.
Speaker 14:
[68:44] Pathfinder serves under the Veiled Eye.
Speaker 12:
[68:46] Yeah, but then also Stinky Butt McNutt, whatever his name was, the guy that I hate.
Speaker 9:
[68:51] You can never remember the important people in your life.
Speaker 12:
[68:54] No, no, it's just not as cool as Quaternary.
Speaker 11:
[68:56] Ironclad?
Speaker 2:
[68:57] Ironclad, I was looking it up.
Speaker 12:
[68:58] Ironclad was looking for the Sea Drinker.
Speaker 2:
[69:00] So like...
Speaker 9:
[69:01] You forgot Bjorn the other day too.
Speaker 10:
[69:03] Everybody's looking for these gods.
Speaker 12:
[69:05] So like, what's... Why are they looking for all these people? Why are the gods playing hide and go seek with us?
Speaker 10:
[69:12] What's the deal?
Speaker 11:
[69:13] Maybe they know danger's coming and so they're protecting themselves.
Speaker 8:
[69:16] As a quick flashback, you all discovered that the Sea Drinker had been interrogated. Let's call it interrogated slash tortured. And she had let it slip that the Veiled Eye might know where the Pathfinder is. Yes.
Speaker 10:
[69:31] That's right.
Speaker 12:
[69:32] Their ultimate goal is to find the Pathfinder.
Speaker 8:
[69:35] Right. And that the Fire Eater was being held captive and that was being used as leverage over the Sea Drinker.
Speaker 21:
[69:42] Yes.
Speaker 9:
[69:43] Because they're girlfriends.
Speaker 8:
[69:44] Right.
Speaker 14:
[69:45] Could the Fire Eater be inside of the Dragon?
Speaker 21:
[69:48] Oh.
Speaker 14:
[69:50] Because it could be what is making it so hot.
Speaker 21:
[69:53] Oh.
Speaker 17:
[69:54] Dude, very cool.
Speaker 2:
[69:58] Oh, man, we should blow up that Dragon.
Speaker 11:
[70:00] I wonder if we could destroy the statue and free the Fire Eater.
Speaker 14:
[70:04] Yeah.
Speaker 12:
[70:05] I mean, that would definitely clean things up for this area because it's made of ice and they're probably miserable. But then they're also melting everything, which is making this place miserable.
Speaker 11:
[70:14] I guess, should we just continue to hide as they... Because they're walking and having a conversation. Correct? Or are they stopped?
Speaker 8:
[70:21] No, they kept walking. Yeah. And they're at this point, like you can't make anything else out because they're walking further away into the distance.
Speaker 11:
[70:27] OK.
Speaker 12:
[70:27] How far away are we from the Dragon Statue?
Speaker 8:
[70:30] It's not that far. I mean, let's say 80 feet in the other direction.
Speaker 12:
[70:33] You mentioned that there was like vents and things and it was like smoke was coming out.
Speaker 8:
[70:37] Right.
Speaker 12:
[70:38] Can I head back over there and take a look on the inside and see if I can like spot something? Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[70:43] Maybe you could try to like talk into him or talk to her.
Speaker 12:
[70:46] Yeah. Yeah. Something like that.
Speaker 8:
[70:47] Are all of you going or just told?
Speaker 21:
[70:49] Yeah, we'll go.
Speaker 11:
[70:50] I would like to go, yeah.
Speaker 10:
[70:51] Yes. Yes.
Speaker 12:
[70:52] Yes.
Speaker 21:
[70:52] Yes.
Speaker 8:
[70:54] You know, classic Natty.
Speaker 11:
[70:55] Classic Natty.
Speaker 12:
[70:56] Actually, before I do anything, I want to go up to it and knock. As such, like so with the following knock, knock, knock, knock, knock.
Speaker 11:
[71:06] Who's there?
Speaker 8:
[71:07] You hear a reverberating response.
Speaker 17:
[71:10] Clang, clang.
Speaker 10:
[71:13] Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Speaker 12:
[71:17] Yeah, there's definitely somebody in there then.
Speaker 17:
[71:19] Uh, hello, fire eater.
Speaker 10:
[71:21] Oh, oh, oh, I'll do this. Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
Speaker 8:
[71:25] And as you're doing that, a strange looking, let's say, udara, a strange looking being comes walking by and sees you. It looks like this creature is like, it's got a giant owl body with frosty feathers and it's got, however, it's got a polar bear head.
Speaker 9:
[71:40] Hey, y'all come in all kinds of shapes and colors.
Speaker 8:
[71:42] And it sees you knocking on the statue and asks, what are you doing?
Speaker 9:
[71:49] Well, you see, my friend here.
Speaker 10:
[71:52] What do you see?
Speaker 9:
[71:53] My friend here, we have been brought in to see to repairs to the furnace as it was reported that it had taken some sort of damage somewhere. And so he was checking it for any sort of faults.
Speaker 10:
[72:09] Repairs? No, no, no, there are no faults.
Speaker 9:
[72:13] Well, may I ask why you would be the expert on this?
Speaker 19:
[72:17] This statue is under my domain. I have overseen the creation and implementation of this.
Speaker 9:
[72:26] For my records, what's your name?
Speaker 19:
[72:28] You call me the Frostbiter.
Speaker 17:
[72:33] Oh, on the armor.
Speaker 9:
[72:36] As in like this frostbiter and then he points to her chest.
Speaker 19:
[72:41] That's me.
Speaker 17:
[72:43] Big fan.
Speaker 11:
[72:44] Is the cold slowing down your ability to talk at a normal pace?
Speaker 19:
[72:49] Mm, I hate the cold.
Speaker 9:
[72:54] Oh, okay.
Speaker 11:
[72:54] Ironic. Oh, if he's biting the frost, that means he's attacking it.
Speaker 19:
[72:59] That's why I oversaw the creation of this.
Speaker 9:
[73:03] So, you're telling me that someone else put in a requisition for us and it was for a joke, and we came all the way over here for not actually having to repair something?
Speaker 17:
[73:14] Oh, so frustrating.
Speaker 19:
[73:18] I guess.
Speaker 9:
[73:20] Well, since we're here and we're such fans and aficionados, this kind of stuff, this is kind of impressive that this is running inside of such a icy area. What sort of fuel source did you find was best for this location?
Speaker 19:
[73:38] The eternal kind.
Speaker 9:
[73:41] Yeah, that tracks.
Speaker 14:
[73:42] Ah, fire eater.
Speaker 12:
[73:49] Lucky for you, we're in the neighborhood offering free inspections and we're willing to do a free inspection.
Speaker 17:
[73:56] That's homeowner talk right there.
Speaker 8:
[73:59] People have been at your door.
Speaker 11:
[74:01] Is there like a weird connection between like the frostbiter, the fire eater and the sea drinker?
Speaker 12:
[74:07] Like they're all like consumption based temperature things.
Speaker 8:
[74:11] You can make a religion check if you want.
Speaker 12:
[74:14] Where's the Lukewarm sipper?
Speaker 11:
[74:17] I'll make a religion check, yeah.
Speaker 12:
[74:19] I said, where's the Lukewarm sipper?
Speaker 8:
[74:21] Let's get out of here.
Speaker 12:
[74:24] Inspiration deck.
Speaker 11:
[74:25] I rolled a nat 20 for 27 with my modifier.
Speaker 8:
[74:30] You're on fire with these checks lately, Barbara.
Speaker 11:
[74:32] I got some good rolls today.
Speaker 8:
[74:34] You've heard rumor in the past of some kind of, how can I put it? You've heard rumor of some kind of jealousy between the three of them in the past, between the fire eater, the sea drinker and the frost spider.
Speaker 11:
[74:50] Because so have we determined the frost biters, the one inside the dragon? Is that what's?
Speaker 8:
[74:55] No, you're talking to the frost spider.
Speaker 11:
[74:56] Oh, OK.
Speaker 14:
[74:58] We suspect the fire eater is inside the thing causing heat.
Speaker 8:
[75:03] Yeah, probably.
Speaker 14:
[75:04] Though if the frost spider likes things hot, the fire eater might be something that likes things cold.
Speaker 11:
[75:11] That's what I'm thinking. Like, it could be a weird reverse, but I don't know.
Speaker 8:
[75:16] Just to clarify what Chris said there, the frost biters said that he does not like the cold.
Speaker 14:
[75:20] Yeah. So frost biter likes hot, so that means fire eater might like cold.
Speaker 11:
[75:25] Yeah, like if the frost bites and the fire eats.
Speaker 8:
[75:29] When the shark bites.
Speaker 11:
[75:31] Which one swat?
Speaker 14:
[75:33] It might be reverse of what you think.
Speaker 11:
[75:35] And the sea drinks.
Speaker 9:
[75:38] I don't think so necessarily. I don't think it's like it has to go that way as well.
Speaker 11:
[75:43] But it's a lot of eat, eat, bite or drinker. Like that's what we got.
Speaker 12:
[75:47] Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[75:47] Yum, yum, yum.
Speaker 12:
[75:48] And where does the lukewarm sipper fill into all this?
Speaker 9:
[75:52] I think you broke the party Gus.
Speaker 11:
[75:53] Earth muncher. Where's one of those?
Speaker 19:
[75:56] Anyway, move along.
Speaker 13:
[75:59] Yeah, yeah, we'll move along.
Speaker 9:
[76:01] Thank you so much. So last question, where are, since we've come so far, where are the barracks that we might be able to find some place for rest for the evening?
Speaker 8:
[76:13] With a groan, the frostbiter turns and points one of his feathery arms at one of the igloos that's floating by on the canal.
Speaker 9:
[76:21] Okay.
Speaker 12:
[76:22] Just missed it.
Speaker 14:
[76:24] We'll wait for it to come back around, Jess.
Speaker 9:
[76:27] So yeah, can I pull my party to the side so we're not talking in front of the frostbiter?
Speaker 8:
[76:31] Sure. I assume you move away a little distance and he stands there. He turns his back to you and begins inspecting where 12 was knocking.
Speaker 9:
[76:40] I don't want to jump to conclusions, but I feel like we might have found an objective for us inside of this place. So does it get dark, Gus, or is the sun not moving again still and it never gets dark?
Speaker 8:
[76:54] Oh yeah, that's right. It's always dark here. It was because you're in the veil and it was lit by moonlight.
Speaker 9:
[76:59] Oh, okay. So then again, that leads me to another meta question. Is there a point where people go to bed? Like is there like a midnight shift?
Speaker 8:
[77:10] I won't even make you roll for this. Just because presumably from your experience in The Mortalion, you know that there really isn't a downtime, especially being so close to a front of war, that there are definitely shifts and people rotate in and out, but there are always people milling about as they either go on watch, come off watch, go out to battle, come back from battle. It's a constant stream of Undarians in various directions.
Speaker 11:
[77:35] Okay.
Speaker 9:
[77:36] All right, team, stop me if you think this is dumb, but I think we should try to cause some sort of commotion.
Speaker 20:
[77:42] Like a diversion?
Speaker 9:
[77:43] To give ourselves a chance to maybe abscond with a god.
Speaker 11:
[77:48] Yes. It is a tall order.
Speaker 14:
[77:52] Which god?
Speaker 9:
[77:54] The one inside the Dragon Gunther.
Speaker 12:
[77:55] Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 14:
[77:56] We don't know for certain that he's got in there.
Speaker 12:
[78:00] We're pretty sure, you know, it makes sense, because they were able to interrogate, right?
Speaker 14:
[78:06] Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[78:07] Hey, actually, I have an answer for this. Gus, you said those vents were opening and closing, right?
Speaker 8:
[78:11] Yeah, yeah. I mean, yeah, sure. Yeah, that makes sense. As heat and exhaust hits a vent, it opens up and releases it. And then as air is drawn in, those vents open up as well.
Speaker 9:
[78:21] OK, Natty needs a moment to think.
Speaker 14:
[78:23] I have a thing, too.
Speaker 9:
[78:25] Why don't you let me do mine first? And if it doesn't work, you can do yours.
Speaker 20:
[78:27] Think, think, think, think, think, think.
Speaker 9:
[78:30] No, Natty's using the spell a moment to think.
Speaker 20:
[78:33] I thought you were saying Natty needed a moment to think.
Speaker 12:
[78:38] Alright Jon, let's go.
Speaker 9:
[78:41] So Natty stops time when the vents are open. And I'm not an expert on thermodynamics, but I think when the particles stop moving, the heat isn't as strong. Like while you're in stopped time, heat shouldn't work the same way.
Speaker 8:
[78:55] Yeah, let's see where this goes. Let's follow this line of thinking.
Speaker 9:
[78:59] All I'm asking is then that would allow Natty to put her face up extra close to these vents with flames not moving anymore and be able to look in and see if she sees a person.
Speaker 12:
[79:10] Okay, flames around my face.
Speaker 11:
[79:13] Is the fire eater like a humanoid type? We don't know. Okay, I just don't know what you'd be looking for.
Speaker 8:
[79:18] Just to clarify, okay, I did say we had clarified that you all had moved away and the frostbiter was looking at it, but you stopped time, which would allow you to go there, look, and then come back without anyone noticing.
Speaker 11:
[79:33] Yes.
Speaker 8:
[79:33] I'm just trying to think through all of these complicated things because stopping time is so easy.
Speaker 9:
[79:37] Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've read a lot of Flash comics, okay, so I know how this works.
Speaker 8:
[79:41] Why don't you make me a advanced physics check with advantage?
Speaker 7:
[79:45] What's an advanced physics check?
Speaker 8:
[79:47] I don't know. We're talking about thermodynamics and all of this. No, no, no, I'm kidding. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 9:
[79:52] Okay.
Speaker 8:
[79:53] You're able to stop time. You take a look into the event, and yeah, you do see what appears to be some kind of creature inside of the statue.
Speaker 9:
[80:02] And then so Nattie would use the remainder of her time to think to then come back to the group so that she hasn't like, to the rest of the world, she hasn't moved.
Speaker 8:
[80:10] It's like you never left.
Speaker 9:
[80:11] And Nattie goes, time in. And tells the group, like, well, I just checked. And there is someone inside of that statue.
Speaker 10:
[80:18] Oh, should we like slip them like a shiv or some sort of tool? What did they look like?
Speaker 9:
[80:25] A person on fire perpetually.
Speaker 11:
[80:27] It's probably the fire eater in there.
Speaker 17:
[80:29] Probably the fire eater.
Speaker 11:
[80:31] Were they eating any fire by any chance? That's a dead giveaway.
Speaker 9:
[80:35] Okay, Nattie's the time to think. So Nattie goes back and sees if they're eating anything. Utensils, a plate, an oven.
Speaker 8:
[80:43] Shorma.
Speaker 9:
[80:44] Yeah, shorma. Okay, yeah. Nattie comes back. They're eating shorma.
Speaker 11:
[80:47] Oh, yeah, that's fire.
Speaker 12:
[80:49] I'm glad both are taken care of. I have a potential plan for a diversion.
Speaker 9:
[80:53] Does it involve the crane and the button?
Speaker 12:
[80:56] How did you know, Nattie? Are we like same Wavelinks? Crazy.
Speaker 13:
[81:01] It's like we're finishing each other's shorma.
Speaker 11:
[81:04] Missions.
Speaker 12:
[81:05] So anyways. I just realized I cut line. Chris had something, Gunther had something.
Speaker 14:
[81:14] I know, but Jon did something better.
Speaker 12:
[81:17] Okay, I have the spider silk and I'm also sure that there's a ladder, too. But we could do something where we drop. Okay, what if we went onto the crane and then repositioned the, you know, all of that stuff that's up there to then drop causing a big commotion? And then while that's happening, you guys rush while everybody's heading in the other direction and then free the fire eater from the dragon.
Speaker 14:
[81:43] How do we, but how do we free the fire eater from the dragon?
Speaker 11:
[81:47] Oh, and they got like a, I don't know, a vacuum.
Speaker 2:
[81:52] What?
Speaker 12:
[81:56] I could drop the crane thing on the dragon.
Speaker 14:
[81:59] Yes, yes.
Speaker 10:
[82:00] That's probably going to kill a fire eater.
Speaker 14:
[82:02] Or tip it over.
Speaker 10:
[82:03] That's something, yeah.
Speaker 11:
[82:05] Natty, did it look like the person inside there could fit through the vent?
Speaker 13:
[82:09] I don't, I didn't check.
Speaker 9:
[82:10] Natty does another time, goes and checks one more times and sees the scale of this person.
Speaker 8:
[82:15] Yeah, I'm going to say no, most likely not. No, that would not work.
Speaker 11:
[82:18] Most likely not. How big is the dragon statue?
Speaker 8:
[82:21] It's pretty big. I don't remember if I gave an exact scale of it. Let me, I think you would say it would be classified as maybe huge, like so really big.
Speaker 11:
[82:32] Okay, so not something we could just carry out.
Speaker 8:
[82:34] No, plus on top of that, it's like total discovery. It's made of tungsten and tungsten is a very heavy metal too. So it's a huge chunk of heavy metal.
Speaker 11:
[82:43] Heavy metal.
Speaker 20:
[82:44] Yeah.
Speaker 9:
[82:47] Last time I'm going to do this trick, but Dandy will actually use time to think to go, could I do a quick check to see if there's any sort of like doors, hatches, screws, cracks, seams, anything?
Speaker 10:
[82:58] What's a door?
Speaker 11:
[83:00] I'm scared of it. It sounds hard.
Speaker 12:
[83:02] I don't like this.
Speaker 8:
[83:03] Yeah, but just for my own memory here, time to think that's like, it lasts for like six seconds, right?
Speaker 9:
[83:12] It's specifically...
Speaker 8:
[83:14] You take one additional action.
Speaker 9:
[83:15] Used as a bonus action that gives me another action time.
Speaker 8:
[83:18] So yeah, at most it's six seconds. So you can make an investigation check, but it's not enough time to investigate the entire thing.
Speaker 9:
[83:26] Okay.
Speaker 8:
[83:27] Because it's...
Speaker 9:
[83:27] Depending on how good my check is?
Speaker 8:
[83:28] It's huge, right. Yeah, we'll give you a chance. So yeah, just make a check and we'll go from there. We're kind of playing this by ear. That's how we do it.
Speaker 9:
[83:36] Hey, yeah, that was a four. Oh, I do have inspiration dice. Why not? Use it or lose it. That one's a 19.
Speaker 8:
[83:44] Lucky you. How inspiring. Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[83:47] Inspired.
Speaker 9:
[83:48] I was inspired by Barbara remembering we have those in this game.
Speaker 8:
[83:52] You go over and take a look. And yeah, you do find a crack in the tungsten near where the vent was where you were peeking before. It appears that there's a fissure that might go all the way through the statue.
Speaker 18:
[84:04] It's got a weak spot.
Speaker 14:
[84:06] That could have been the crack that we heard.
Speaker 7:
[84:09] Oh, smart boy, clever boy.
Speaker 11:
[84:13] I guess there's more than one.
Speaker 12:
[84:13] You get a special Toll of inspiration dice.
Speaker 9:
[84:18] It's worthless, but you can...
Speaker 11:
[84:20] It actually steals your inspiration die.
Speaker 9:
[84:24] I would say then that it'd probably be best if there's a crack in it. You're going to have to break open that crack. So then whoever's doing... Whoever's got to do that's got to be strong. Maybe has like a big old hammer. Mm-hmm. Maybe has like robot strength.
Speaker 11:
[84:43] All right, Captain Grumbos, you're in.
Speaker 17:
[84:48] I love it. Perfect.
Speaker 9:
[84:50] I mean, even that little war pick might be helpful.
Speaker 11:
[84:53] Well, I mean, Toll also had the idea for the diversion.
Speaker 13:
[84:58] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 9:
[84:59] So, that's all right.
Speaker 13:
[84:59] Thank you.
Speaker 9:
[85:00] I'll connect the dots. We should, Toll should not do the diversion if we need Toll to then try to get into the statue.
Speaker 14:
[85:06] Yes. So, perhaps maybe the, you, since you are so good at machinery, do the crane and then, and then from, and...
Speaker 13:
[85:17] I'm not very, why are you looking at me?
Speaker 9:
[85:18] I'm not very good at machinery.
Speaker 14:
[85:19] I was looking at Barbara. Sorry.
Speaker 1:
[85:21] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 14:
[85:22] I was looking at Barbara. Sorry.
Speaker 8:
[85:23] I was standing behind you, Nattie. You look like Gunter was looking at you, but he was actually looking at Doug.
Speaker 9:
[85:29] Nattie's just like, well, you know what? I appreciate the confidence. I'm not normally into this kind of thing.
Speaker 11:
[85:33] There's a moment Doug is going, what the hell? My entire life.
Speaker 9:
[85:37] She turns around, she goes, hey, Doug, can I borrow your tools for a little bit?
Speaker 12:
[85:42] Wait, going off of that idea, so if Doug goes, operates the machinery, Nattie, does your ring fit other people that are not just you into it? Because you could create a disguise that, no, you're shaking your head no, it would be-
Speaker 11:
[85:57] I think we should just go forward with trying to get this person out.
Speaker 9:
[86:00] Okay, I'm going to go with Doug and help with the diversion, since I'm good at those. And we got the two strong lads to try to get this thing open and get that fire eater out, okay?
Speaker 12:
[86:08] Okay, maybe what we'll do is the diversion will be my cue to take a big old quack right to this crack.
Speaker 10:
[86:16] Yes.
Speaker 12:
[86:17] That way the noise is kind of covered up, you know?
Speaker 9:
[86:19] I'm going to leave Gigi and Grumbles with you too, because you guys need all the manpower you can get.
Speaker 10:
[86:23] Why would you do that to us?
Speaker 2:
[86:24] I don't want to.
Speaker 7:
[86:25] And he's already walking away with Doug.
Speaker 10:
[86:27] Oh my god, oh my god, he left him with us. She left him with us.
Speaker 8:
[86:31] Blaine was physically acting as told there and had like started shaking and looking around very nervously. It was inspired. That was really good. Take inspiration, Blaine. That was really good role play. I like it.
Speaker 12:
[86:42] That means that I'm about to have a bad role and I need that.
Speaker 14:
[86:45] Okay.
Speaker 11:
[86:46] The dice gods know.
Speaker 8:
[86:47] So we have team distraction and team action.
Speaker 14:
[86:51] Yeah.
Speaker 8:
[86:51] Cool.
Speaker 11:
[86:52] Nice.
Speaker 8:
[86:53] Let's head. We'll start with team distraction because that needs to happen first. A team waction. That's really good, Micah. Micah, you get an inspiration die. Okay. So Natty and Doug, you walk up to the crane and the mechanism and everything. What's your approach here?
Speaker 11:
[87:10] Well, I don't know. I guess we could just start moving it and, you know, make a noise with it, moving stuff around, make people look at it.
Speaker 9:
[87:22] Could Doug's mechanical engineer expertise give him any sort of insight into how this works so that Doug could make it do whatever he wants?
Speaker 8:
[87:30] Yeah. Doug, why don't you make me an investigation check with Advantage?
Speaker 11:
[87:34] Okay. That's a seven.
Speaker 9:
[87:38] That's your best one with Advantage.
Speaker 11:
[87:40] But, you know, I'm having a flash of genius, so I'm going to add plus four to that.
Speaker 9:
[87:46] Oh, nice, nice, nice.
Speaker 11:
[87:47] So that's an 11?
Speaker 8:
[87:48] Yeah, that's good enough. I was looking for a 10, so you got it. You very quickly are able to figure out how this works. One of these stone wheels, I say the horizontal wheel seems to move the crane along the X axis, left and right, and the vertical wheel seems to move it along the X axis. I'm sorry, the Z axis, closer to you and further away from you. And then you feel like if you push that large button, it'll drop the crane down and make it grab things.
Speaker 12:
[88:16] Isn't the Z axis up and down?
Speaker 8:
[88:18] That's the Y. It depends how you're looking at it. So if you're looking top down, it's X and Y, and then Z coming up and down. So it's like whether you look at it from your perspective or from an overhead perspective. We've argued...
Speaker 11:
[88:29] I'm picturing this like a crane game, where you move things.
Speaker 8:
[88:32] It's exactly what it's like.
Speaker 9:
[88:34] So, Doug, with my lovely eyes, I was able to see that in those like wood things up there, those little platforms, there's a lot of stuff you can make a mess with.
Speaker 11:
[88:46] Oh, excellent.
Speaker 9:
[88:47] It's like important, like some is treasure and some is supplies and they need both.
Speaker 8:
[88:50] It seemed like based on when you were looking, like the platform on the left was primarily treasure and loot, and the platform on the right was more like items of some kind, like various items.
Speaker 11:
[89:02] I mean, should I just try to swing it around to knock all this stuff over? I might just do that, like, just try to make a mess of it.
Speaker 9:
[89:10] Maximum effort.
Speaker 12:
[89:12] Just so that you know, I'm prepping with both hands my gavel of Gaelstrom, like I'm waiting for the cue, just so I'm not just like, oh, told you're surprised by this.
Speaker 11:
[89:21] Yeah.
Speaker 12:
[89:21] Like I'm watching that thing.
Speaker 8:
[89:23] This is the plan. Yeah, you're doing it. You go up there and begin rolling the list. Is there a particular platform you want to try to knock over? What's your approach here?
Speaker 11:
[89:33] Probably the items. Actually, do the items look like it's like weapons and metal and stuff like that that would make a clang kind of thing if it was knocked?
Speaker 8:
[89:41] Yeah. So that's the platform on the right, is the one with the various items. You see lanterns, hatchets, bracers, belts, harpoons, drums, mugs. I mean, it's just all kinds of various things. Okay.
Speaker 10:
[89:56] Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[89:56] I want to go for that section.
Speaker 10:
[89:58] Mugs, jugs, Pugs, drugs. Pugs.
Speaker 8:
[90:03] Oh.
Speaker 11:
[90:03] Those are nice and soft. Boots.
Speaker 10:
[90:04] Boots.
Speaker 8:
[90:05] Yeah. Those won't make a sound when you drop them. Yeah.
Speaker 11:
[90:07] Boots with the fur.
Speaker 8:
[90:08] All right. You begin manipulating the giant wheels to move the crane around. Why don't you roll me a D20 to see how accurate this is?
Speaker 4:
[90:18] Can I help?
Speaker 11:
[90:20] 15.
Speaker 9:
[90:21] Can I offer the assist action?
Speaker 8:
[90:22] Sure. Why not? Roll me a D20 as well.
Speaker 9:
[90:25] That's a 1. How much did I help?
Speaker 8:
[90:26] Negative 2.
Speaker 11:
[90:28] Doug just like pushes Nattie away. I'm focused. Stop it.
Speaker 8:
[90:31] It's like when two people try to play the crane game, like one's in one direction, the other one's in the other. It's like, this seems like this should work, but it's actually harder.
Speaker 11:
[90:38] I really want this Kirby plush. Hold on. Give me a second.
Speaker 8:
[90:44] We'll call that a 13 in the end.
Speaker 11:
[90:45] What?
Speaker 8:
[90:46] Well, because after Nattie's assistance.
Speaker 9:
[90:49] I critical failed. I'm sorry. I critical failed.
Speaker 21:
[90:52] After Nattie's help.
Speaker 8:
[90:54] However, that's not necessarily the worst thing in the world. You're not looking for super accuracy. You're not trying to grab a particular thing. You're just trying to kind of mash it around and knock boxes off. And you're successful in that. You know, if you were trying to get a particular box, that probably wouldn't have worked. But since you're just trying to knock crates off from that platform, yeah, you're able to do that. And Toll, you see this. You see these, we'll say two crates begin falling off of the platform and racing towards the ground.
Speaker 14:
[91:19] Can I also add my Smith's Tools? I want to get like one of the...
Speaker 19:
[91:23] A wedge.
Speaker 14:
[91:24] Yeah, so that and kind of have it wedged in there. So there's like a focal point for him to hit with the Warhammer.
Speaker 8:
[91:30] Sure. Yeah, I like that. So that's really good.
Speaker 12:
[91:32] I was just looking in my inventory for something similar to that. And then I was like, well, what's in the party inventory? And it has four farts. It's what's in the party inventory.
Speaker 11:
[91:40] I used one of those already, so I should take one.
Speaker 10:
[91:42] All right, I'll mark one down then.
Speaker 14:
[91:46] And I'll dual both hands, hold that new wafting war pick and be ready to whack afterwards.
Speaker 11:
[91:53] Are you holding the thing or the war pick?
Speaker 8:
[91:54] Yeah, I thought you were holding the wedge.
Speaker 14:
[91:56] Oh, I stuck the wedge in.
Speaker 8:
[91:58] Oh, I see.
Speaker 14:
[91:59] I didn't want to get my arm smashed, so I wedged it in.
Speaker 11:
[92:03] You don't have faith in Toll? It should be accurate in this.
Speaker 12:
[92:06] Yeah, what the heck, man?
Speaker 8:
[92:06] Okay, so you wedge the piece in there and you ready yourself to act along with Toll. And yeah, you see those boxes coming down and you strike right at the same moment that those boxes or those crates hit the ground. Make me, let's say, an attack roll with advantage, Toll.
Speaker 12:
[92:25] Okay. 15. I could use my inspiration dying.
Speaker 11:
[92:32] 15 might be good enough, but I could also have a flash of genius for you.
Speaker 12:
[92:36] What is that?
Speaker 11:
[92:37] Although you're not within 30 feet of me, are you?
Speaker 8:
[92:39] No, I'll say he's a little further than me. I have, I have.
Speaker 11:
[92:41] Okay, never mind.
Speaker 12:
[92:42] I have inspiration, so I could use that.
Speaker 9:
[92:44] Use it. It's important.
Speaker 11:
[92:45] 15 might be enough.
Speaker 12:
[92:46] Okay. All right. I'm going to do that. Oh my God. 14. So 15 is my highest.
Speaker 14:
[92:51] 15. All right.
Speaker 8:
[92:51] And Gunther, you want to also make a roll there?
Speaker 14:
[92:54] Sure. 15.
Speaker 8:
[92:57] All right.
Speaker 14:
[92:57] Do I have advantage? I don't have advantage.
Speaker 8:
[92:59] Yeah, you also have advantage. Yeah. You both were kind of anticipating this and preparing yourself.
Speaker 14:
[93:06] 15.
Speaker 8:
[93:07] Okay. I'll say it's like a one-two strike. You ever see like in blacksmithing when there's multiple people on either side of an anvil and they're both hitting and they're timing it. That's exactly what's going on here.
Speaker 9:
[93:19] And Geeky is going to be the third hit.
Speaker 8:
[93:22] It's just his head though.
Speaker 7:
[93:23] He just goes.
Speaker 8:
[93:53] Emerging from the ruins of the statue you see a dragon with cracked black scales. The cracks between the scales glow a dull red. And as you're looking at it, the bright orange flames become brighter and brighter till they burst out into actual roaring flames shooting out from these cracks on the dragon. With a loud roar, looks around and begins breathing fire, melting all of the people around it. You see the walls falling down and people running around, a lot of Lungarians running around screaming, some on fire, some not, and the entire place just seems to erupt into chaos.
Speaker 11:
[94:55] I didn't mean to knock it over.
Speaker 8:

Speaker 12:
[95:06] But I was like, we should preserve this beautiful ice castle. Then the dragon just goes all over it.

Speaker 10:
[97:17] Mom, dad, I'm going to be so very honest with you. You know how much I struggle making friends. I have heard that there is a meetup. I very much want to go. Please let me go, mom, dad, please. I have such hard time making friends. They all say I smell so bad. Please, pretty please.
Speaker 9:
[97:37] Okay. Since your parents are actually like doting and loving and involved parents, I'm going to give you another stealth check. This is without advantage, so you have to roll with disadvantage.
Speaker 12:
[97:45] Oh, good, because that's a four. Oh, wait, no, hold on. That's a zero.
Speaker 11:
[97:50] Hey, guys, Alexi is not going to be joining us for this campaign. He's stuck at home.
Speaker 9:
[97:55] Okay, I'm prepared for this. Then Misty, since you have succeeded, I'm going to give you a chance to assist Alexi. How would you help Alexi get out of the house?
Speaker 10:
[98:06] She does not come to poor parts of town.
Speaker 13:
[98:14] Do you have anything that you could lend to help him?
Speaker 11:
[98:17] Yes. I will ring the doorbell.
Speaker 9:
[98:22] Oh, bold.
Speaker 13:
[98:24] Okay. Hello, little girl. Why are you here so late at night?
Speaker 11:
[98:31] Hello, Mr. and Mrs. T-Chest.
Speaker 13:
[98:37] That's close enough.
Speaker 11:
[98:38] My name is Madeline, and you might know my parents. They are big donors of the school. And your son, Alexi, he's become a really good friend of mine. And there's this really important birthday party that a friend of ours is having. But because of their schedule and their job and their parent's job, the only time they could have it is overnight. And so, it would be really great if you could let your son join us. It would mean so much to me and also so much to my parents.
Speaker 13:
[99:07] Yeah, I like that. That's good enough.
Speaker 9:
[99:08] Give me a stealth check, Bimmy.
Speaker 13:
[99:11] Stealth, okay.
Speaker 10:
[99:11] Not from me. You do not want others to...
Speaker 13:
[99:13] Oh, no. Give me...
Speaker 9:
[99:14] Since you're talking to his parents, do a persuasion. How about that?
Speaker 13:
[99:17] How about that?
Speaker 11:
[99:17] So that would be a 17, because I got a plus five persuasion.
Speaker 13:
[99:20] They're like, they're, oh, we are so excited that Alexi has friend.
Speaker 9:
[99:24] It is not cow.
Speaker 13:
[99:26] So yes, be sure to bring him back in one piece. Ha ha, he's strong.
Speaker 9:
[99:30] That's not going to be a problem.
Speaker 10:
[99:31] Okay. Bye bye, mom and dad.
Speaker 11:
[99:34] All right. Come on, best friend.
Speaker 13:
[99:36] Give us, give us kiss.
Speaker 10:
[99:37] Give us kiss. Right on lips. I hate it. Say good, hey, give kiss to Bessie Cow for me.
Speaker 13:
[99:46] Do you want to take Bessie Cow with you? Can she come along?
Speaker 10:
[99:50] Can Bessie Cow come with us?
Speaker 13:
[99:52] Bessie never gets out.
Speaker 9:

Speaker 2:
[101:06] Frostbiter!
Speaker 8:
[101:14] I always wanted that as a kid.
Speaker 9:
[101:16] Best commercial for probably the dumbest toy.
Speaker 8:
[101:19] I don't think I knew anyone who had that.
Speaker 14:
[101:20] I had a friend who had one, and it was not as fun as it seemed as the commercials.
Speaker 11:
[101:25] Living in Canada, I had plenty of frostbiter.
Speaker 9:
[101:28] Oh, there you go.
