[00:01] The following podcast is a Dear Media production.
Speaker 2:
[00:06] This is Well, a podcast about wellness and all its forms. I'm Arielle Lorre, and each week, I'm sharing unfiltered conversations with the people shaping how we feel, live and look. Come for the substance, stay for the honesty, and leave with the tools to be well inside and out. Today, I thought that I would kind of do like, not just a Q&A, but what's in my DMs, because I got so many DMs with a lot of the same questions. And so I kind of rounded those up. And the theme right now, like I was just saying to you, Tessa, is like, how are we glowing up for spring, for summer? I feel like when I look at the backend data, it's so funny because I'm like, oh, everybody just wants to look good right now. Like, yes, we want to feel good, but everybody wants to feel good, look good. So I'm going to be talking about the things that I am actually doing right now from like skin to workouts, food, routine, habits. I'm just going to answer everything in like a very current way. And I do have to say that I feel very locked in right now, like more locked in, I think, than I have felt in years. And I think that that's a result of a few things. One, I feel like my health has been better lately than it's been in a couple years. Like everybody knows I don't have to get into that, I was really struggling there for a while. And it just made it really hard to work out and I never really knew like how I was gonna be reacting to food and everything. And so I was very like one day at a time. And it was just like listen to my body on that day, how I was feeling and then act accordingly. Whereas now I feel like I'm in a consistent enough place where I can kind of do the opposite. And you guys know that I'm not rigid and I don't like to have a regimented routine and I don't like to essentially tell my body what it's gonna be doing every single day. I normally don't have like a super rigid workout structure or anything like that. But I'm kind of implementing that now. And I have to say like it's made everything so much better in my life. Who knew? I'm looking at Tessa, she's like, yeah, welcome to the wellness world. But I understand like different things work for different people. Like some people really don't do well with a structured routine, and some people do. And I think for everybody also it kind of ebbs and flows. And so I'm like flowing right now. So I'm going to get into all of that. Another reason why I feel like I'm very on point is because I had probably the craziest march that I've ever had in my life when it comes to work. I was so overbooked, which is like a great thing. But it was so hard. I really felt like I was unraveling at points. And then it all kind of culminated with this trip to Italy that I took, which I shared a lot on social and it was mostly a brand trip. And then we talked on a couple of days because we were already there. And I took my manager and it was so much fun. But like, I don't think people realize it was my first international brand trip. Wow. Yeah. Maybe because I feel like an elder, elder influencer. And I'm also very selective on who I work with, but this was a brand that I love. It was in Milan. It was also like with a hotel group that I love, who I've stayed at before. It just all kind of felt organic for me. The brand part of the trip was amazing. I'm gonna get into the other stuff, but just like a peek behind the curtain. I think people think like, oh, you just go on this trip and it's amazing and they put you up in a hotel and you eat all these amazing meals and you take pictures and that's it. You have certain deliverables that you have to meet every day in your contract when it comes to content. So yes, you're doing all of these amazing things. You're also capturing the content and then you have to, at the end of the day, edit that and post whatever you're contracted to post. But it also fell during a regular work week for me and it was a work week where I had so many other campaigns that I had to shoot. And I would have like an hour break between things on the itinerary and I would have to go to my hotel room, to the bathroom and like shoot another campaign. And then we would be at dinner until like 11 or 1130. And then I would come back and I would have to edit and do all of the stuff that was contracted for the brand. And then I would also have to edit and submit things that were contracted that I had to do like for other work. And then I had podcast stuff and meetings and everything. There was a day in Florence where I didn't leave my hotel room except for like an hour to walk around because I was shooting for another brand and they wanted reshoots and then I had to reshoot the reshoot and it was just like crazy. Wow. Yes. So that's just a glimpse behind the curtain. I was really not handling the pressure. So needless to say, when I got back, I was like, okay, I need to rebound from this and I need to like get into my habits and get into a good place mentally and physically. And so that's what I've been doing. So anyway, okay, we're just kind of walking through the day. We're going morning, we're doing skincare, we're doing fitness, nutrition. So what is the first thing that you do in the morning? I'm not gonna lie. Like I am not a sunlight in the eyes girl. I have done it in the past and I know there are so many benefits. I'm a phone in the face in the morning girl. And that's just like, I'm just being honest.
Speaker 3:
[05:34] Real.
Speaker 2:
[05:35] Are you?
Speaker 3:
[05:36] Kind of. I have an Opal app.
Speaker 2:
[05:39] What's that?
Speaker 3:
[05:40] It's the app where it's almost like the brick where you can like block certain apps. So in the morning, I can really only check my email, check my Slack, check my texts, but no social media.
Speaker 2:
[05:52] Is there like a workaround?
Speaker 3:
[05:54] I have like 10 unlocks a day if I really wanted to.
Speaker 2:
[05:58] Okay.
Speaker 3:
[05:59] But for the most part, I'm at a point now where I don't even care to get on.
Speaker 2:
[06:04] Interesting. Yeah. So for me, social media is not enjoyable at all because it's like work and I just get on and I feel stressed. And somebody who I hired recently was like, so what's your content plan like with your personal stuff? Because we were talking about the podcast, like there's so many different channels every day that have to have content on them. And there's so many people that work on that. But when it comes to my personal plan, I'm like, I don't have one. Like I wake up in the morning and I panic because I'm like, I have to come up with content for all of my channels. And when there's so many other things going on, like usually it's the last thing that I feel like I have time for, or like that I have the bandwidth for, which is not good because it's like the primary part of my job. And I try to get ahead. And yesterday, for example, I shot three pieces of content, took me like all day. And I was like, okay, that is lasting me two days. So I wake up and I'm thinking about work and I usually will check my e-mail. And I do have a physical planner.
Speaker 3:
[07:07] Me too, we love a physical planner.
Speaker 2:
[07:10] It's the best. I am like analog. I am back to like, I want to trapper keeper. Do you remember that? You're too young. I love it because I'm such a visual person. I've downloaded all of the different calendars and my team uses Asana and Notion and this and that too confusing for me. I just want to write things down, my lists, everything. I cross things out. I'm such a visual person. It's just so much easier for me. So I will usually like go into my planner, check my mail, kind of plan the day. And then I meditate. Some people cannot get on their phone first thing in the morning and feel like they really have to like get grounded and balanced. And sometimes I go through those phases too, depending on what I need. But I don't feel like it's to my detriment in any way. So like if you're checking your phone first thing in the morning, I don't think that you have to feel guilty about that. I think that like we have so many wellness things that we feel like we should be doing. And it's just like whatever works for you. And that's what works for me right now. Because I cannot sit there and like meditate or do anything mindful when I have like confusion in my mind about what my day is going to look like when it comes to work and all that. It's so much easier for me to kind of brain dump that onto my planner and just see if there's anything that I have to prep for or respond to. And then I feel like my mind is a little bit more clear. What are you drinking first thing right now? I'm a big mineral person right now. Big trace minerals, girl. Don't ask me why. I just felt like I just needed more minerals. Like I do electrolytes, but I saw somebody sharing these liquid mineral drops. And I started drinking those first thing in the morning because I do wake up very dehydrated. I'm aware of that. I'm 40. I don't even know. There's like one week out of the month that I'm not sweating, but three weeks, I am like drenched. When I wake up, it's disgusting. I have to do HRT. So I'll update you guys on that when I do that. But I wake up so depleted and dehydrated. And of course, like I want my matcha first thing. But I do these minerals, and then I'll go on to my caffeine. What did I stop doing that actually helped drinking matcha? Like as soon as I opened my eyes. I don't always do food first. Now, I just, I don't know. Again, it's like these things go in phases. This is just what is working for me right now. But definitely like having some kind of hydration before the caffeine or anything else really helps. And I had Autumn Smith, I think the episode comes out on Monday, right? Yes. Okay, so this week, the Monday episode, my guest then is really big on intermittent fasting. And again, like there are camps that love intermittent fasting. There are camps that are like very anti-intermittent fasting for women because of the stress and blah, blah, blah. She said that she has electrolytes and minerals. Electrolytes might be minerals. I don't know. Somebody fact check me on that. I mean, the minerals that I'm having are not like super, super high dose potassium, magnesium, sodium, like typical electrolytes, more like trace minerals.
Speaker 4:
[10:15] Yes.
Speaker 2:
[10:16] Am I right?
Speaker 4:
[10:16] You're right.
Speaker 2:
[10:17] Okay, thank you. I love that quick fact check. But anyway, she was saying that when she like re-mineralizes, maybe that's where I got this from. She's then not hungry for hours. So I think maybe one of the reasons why intermittent fasting is so hard on some women's systems is because like, we do wake up dehydrated. That's not like a wellness woo woo thing. I think that's fact. You're not drinking for like at least eight hours. And I think a lot of times people go right to the black coffee or something. And then, you know, an hour later, they feel like shit and they're starving, their cortisol and everything. But that made sense to me, that whole mineral thing. How do I keep my energy stable? I feel like the minerals are helping. I feel like the hydration and the minerals are helping. Before the caffeine, matcha helps keep my energy stable. And I'm like not on the matcha bandwagon. I feel like now matcha is so cliche. I'm like, no, no, we've been doing this for like a decade. So that and then my breakfast. So my breakfast, I will have usually right now a yogurt bowl. I'm kind of introducing like different kinds of dairy yogurt, but I also do coconut yogurt. And I'll do a protein powder, chia seeds for that fiber, berries, and that's usually it. And then I have either Pilates or strength training after, and then I eat again after that, but I'll get to the diet part. So yeah, it's like very simple. My morning basically is like hydration, brain dump, and then I do like quick meditation, which I'll get to, and then I work out. Since I'm talking in this episode about all of the things that I am doing to glow up, I would be remiss if I did not talk about Red Light Therapy, which is something that has made a huge difference for me over the last few years. So a lot of you probably know that I use the Bond Charge Red Light Face Mask. It's one of those things that's super easy to stick to because you literally just put it on for 10 to 20 minutes while you're doing other things. I actually habit stack it with my meditation. So usually it's about 12 or so minutes. You can do it when you're watching TV, answering emails, whatever you want. And what I like about this one specifically is that it combines both red light and near infrared. So you're getting benefits on the surface like fine lines and breakouts, but also deeper support for collagen and overall skin health. I have tried a lot of other devices, and this one just feels better designed. It's lightweight, it's super comfortable. I love the straps. It doesn't get hot. It doesn't include blue light, which can actually mess with your circadian rhythm. So if you're doing it at night, it's not going to disrupt your sleep. So it just feels more thoughtful and intentional. And I really have to say that since I've been using it so consistently, my skin just looks calmer, more even, just a little bit glowier overall, which is really the goal. I am going to start doing my chest consistently, and I'm going to start doing half so that I can show you guys the before and after because it's real. So if you've been curious about red light therapy or you want something that's easy to add into your routine, you can go to bondcharge.com and use the code BLOND for 15% off. I feel like one of the biggest challenges when you're trying to feel and look your best is consistency. Like, it's not that we don't know what to do, it's that actually doing it every day can feel kind of overwhelming especially when it comes to food. Between work, travel, everything going on, so many of us do not want to be spending a ton of time planning meals, grocery shopping, figuring out what's healthy. It's just a lot and that is why Hungry Root is such a great option. It's honestly made eating well feel so much easier. And it's not just a meal kit. That's why Hungry Root is such a great option because it just makes eating well feel so much easier. It's not just a meal kit, it's more like a personalized grocery service. So it actually learns what you like. It learns your dietary preferences, your goals, and then builds out your cart for the week and delivers everything straight to your door. And everything is really high quality. There's no artificial ingredients, no weird additives, and the meals are super simple. Most of what I have made takes like 15 minutes. So it makes it so realistic to stick to. And it just takes that mental load off, which is the biggest thing. You don't have to think about it, but you still want to feel like you are making really good choices. So if you want to make eating healthy feel way more effortless, you can go to hungryroot.com/blonde and use the code blonde to get 40% off your first order, plus a free item in every box for life. Again, that's hungryroot.com/blonde, and the code is blonde for 40% off. This time of year always feels like a time for a natural reset with longer days, a shift in routine, that urge to clean things up a little, whether it's your space, your habits, or yes, how you're taking care of your body. But the reality is most resets end up being overly complicated or hard to stick to, or there's a lot of deprivation involved. And that is where Prolon is different. Prolon is a five-day fasting-mimicking nutrition program designed to give your body the benefits of fasting while still allowing you to eat. It works at the cellular level to support things like metabolic health, fat loss, and even skin health. So it's not just a quick fix, it's a more structured, science-backed approach. Everything comes pre-packaged and organized by day, so there's no guesswork, no planning, no prep. And because it's plant-based and designed to keep your body in a fasting state, it helps trigger cellular renewal, something typically associated with much longer or more intense fasting protocols. It was actually developed with leading research institutions, including USC's Longevity Institute, and has been studied for its impact on biological aging, energy and overall health. So if you have been looking for a way to do a more intentional guided reset this spring, you can go to prolonlife.com/blonde. That's prolonlife.com/blonde, to get 15 percent off plus a $40 bonus gift when you subscribe to their five-day program. Okay, I'll go into skin now, because somebody asked what my current exact morning routine is. I really haven't been sharing my skincare routines on social because I've been trying so many different products and I don't really have one set routine. Although I will say I have been pretty consistent with the Jan Marini again in the morning, especially because I'm trying so many different products at night. But I feel like that one just keeps my skin very stable. It keeps the breakouts at bay. I do her bioglycolic cleanser for vitamin C. I use a different, my own exfoliating product. I use her Luminate MD lotion, which is for hyperpigmentation, melasma. I use her transformation cream and I use her sunscreen. And then I feel like because I have that base and it keeps my skin really good and clear, then I can kind of play around with different products in my night routine. And somebody asked what my night routine is. So it's all over the place. Like I am trying so many different products right now. And call it R&D, I guess. I have my core products that I love. So I always remove makeup with LMS cleansing balm. Then I'll do IsClinical Cleansing Complex. And then I do my own product. And then depending on the night, I'll do either like an Allies of Skin Growth Factors, Copper Tripeptides, Selamax toner, which is like a Korean milky toner. It's I think less than $20. It's so good for hydration, barrier repair, especially after I went really hard with the treatments this winter. I feel like it just really helps to like support the skin barrier. So I'll do those. And then on a different night, I will do Jan Marini, Age Intervention Duality, Benzoyl Peroxide, and Transretinol. Everyone's like, you can't put those. They're literally in the same pump. So they're formulated to go together. It's amazing for adult acne. It's a pretty gentle retinol, but I feel like I don't need anything stronger. In fact, I saw Jen Hollander recently, who has always done my injectables and a lot of my skin treatments. And I was like, do you think I need to go back on Trette? Because I think the intranet makes you feel like you need to be on Trette. Do you find that?
Speaker 3:
[19:05] Yeah, I feel like it's very in.
Speaker 2:
[19:07] It's like every derm is like, you just need three products, blah, blah, blah. And I understand it can do a lot, but I don't think everybody needs to be on it. And my skin is a lot different now than when I last tried going on it. Like years and years ago, my skin is so much stronger and more resilient, but I don't know, it's gotten so much better. It's gotten so much like thicker. The quality is better now from the routines that I've been doing. And so when I asked her, she was like, no, there's no reason because the routine that I'm doing now is doing the same thing for a lot of the same thing that Trout would be doing. And that's it, I'm trying to think if there are products specifically, I'm using Shani Darden 1% Retinol sometimes. I'm starting to kind of like work that in a little bit. I love the Shani Darden Rescue Serum, Lactic Acid, oh, Irina Forte Phytomellatonin Eye Cream, the best, obsessed. My eyes are so sensitive and it's so hard for me to find eye creams that I like. I like that one. I like the Medicaid Retinol. Now I'm thinking of a bunch of things that I like. Medi-Cube, Zero Pore Pads, kind of a new obsession of mine. I was influenced by TikTok, and I have to say they actually work. Have you tried those? I haven't. Oh my God. I'll bring you some, because they sent me a crate of their entire line. I'm like, the budget here is crazy. A very interesting model, I think, with Medi-Cube, and a lot of these Korean brands that are on TikTok, they have capabilities that we don't have here. So here, it takes two years to formulate a product, and I can tell you, because I'm like, there. Whereas they and C and clothing companies are doing this as well. They use AI to track what's selling the most, or what people want, what's being talked about, what's going viral, and then they make a product in like a month, and then they put that out. It's completely different, it's a totally different model. So Medi-Cube is stacked. They have so many products. I got their, what is it called, the Mini Booster. Have you seen that?
Speaker 3:
[21:11] I've seen it all over my page.
Speaker 2:
[21:13] I thought it was gimmicky. They sent it to me because they wanted to work together, and I was like, let me try it first, which I always do by the way. And I loved it.
Speaker 3:
[21:23] What difference do you see?
Speaker 2:
[21:24] It's supposed to increase absorption by 625%, and I'm like, that's very high.
Speaker 3:
[21:30] Significant.
Speaker 2:
[21:32] That sounds really high. Why isn't everybody talking about this? This is crazy. But I do feel like, because it heats up, and it has, I believe, microcurrent or something. I feel like it is driving that product deeper. And then they sent me the V-roller, which is hilarious, because it looks like a sex toy. Have you seen it? No, I haven't. Oh my God. I had to shoot the campaign when I was in Italy. And so I had these things, like they're pink, first of all. It looks like the rabbit. It's like a big, phallic kind of looking thing with like two prongs that go off of it. And then like the booster, they look like vibrators. And I had them just laying out on the bed in my hotel room. I'm sure the cleaning people were like, wow, she has no shame, Americans. But that is very, very, very strong microcurrent. Even on a level one, I feel like I'm electrocuting myself. And it's microcurrent, so it stimulates your muscles. And over time, it's supposed to tighten and lift things. It definitely gives you an immediate tightening and lift. And this is not like I did one ad with them because I liked it, but I've been using it ever since. And I do feel like it makes a huge difference, at least temporary, like very good for de-puffing when I was in Italy and just like eating only bread and pasta for nine days. It would just kind of like snatch everything. I had a post last year from when I did a Biologique remodeling machine facial at Four Seasons Surfside, but they offer it at most Biologique spas. And that's like very, very strong microcurrent. This feels as strong. People who have done microcurrent know what I'm talking about. It's like the metal in your mouth and like my muscles are like twitching involuntarily and like my teeth hurt and it's pretty hardcore. But as far as products doing heavy lifting, I got to say my own. And I think that's Stella Max Toner. I think it's like good for anybody because I think it's really protective. I think it's really nourishing, I think it's really hydrating, and I think really good for your barrier. Okay. So that brings me to makeup. I am not a makeup guru. I feel like I have learned a lot and I feel like gotten better. I have to say after I had Kellyanne on my podcast, that was like maybe four or six weeks ago that we recorded that. I have had her app for a while, but I actually started watching it more and learning different techniques. I feel like my makeup approach has changed and I have actually scaled way back on the products that I am using, and I am finding better products for my skin all the time. You guys probably know if you have watched me, I was doing foundation, hoola bronzer all over my face, high school method, and tons of blush, which I still love blush, but tons of blush. I didn't really know the placement of anything. I don't know, so I feel like my technique has gotten a lot better, and I have some products that I'm currently very obsessed with. One is the Cosas Concealer. I know. Welcome to the world. I know it's been around forever. I've had it forever. I just have never been a concealer person. I've liked a kind of lighter weight foundation. Now, aside from house labs, if I want more of a full face, I'm really only doing concealer in strategic places. It's like the Hailey Bieber method, for people who aren't watching on YouTube. But on YouTube, it's like the inner corners of my eyes, the outer corners of my eyes, sides of my nose, sides of my chin, and then like a little teeny bit above, like in my T-zone, kind of like my center of my forehead. I'm like, what is this? And that's it. And then, oh my God, this bronzer that I found today, because I'm having this guest on after I record this, Sarah Creel, I don't know what it's called, bronzer. Insane, okay? I've been like a Westman atelier girl. I always had hoola, like in case I needed the all over powder bronzer, which people are like, benefit? Like who's, no offense, benefit, like love you, but who's using benefit? I don't know, I feel like that's such like a millennial brand.
Speaker 3:
[25:49] It's an OG brand.
Speaker 2:
[25:50] OG, yeah. But I liked Westman, I like, say, this, Sarah Creel, it's in a compact. It's creamy, but not like too creamy. Like you use a brush, I don't know, it's amazing. And I think because her products are formulated for women 40 plus, you don't have to like, can't like not buy it if you're under 40. I don't know what it did to my skin. Hopefully it looks good on video, otherwise people are going to be like, you're not selling me on this. That's amazing. The Hourglass Liquid Blush, amazing. What else am I using? Rare Beauty Brow Gel, Laura Mercier Eyeshadow Stick, always. I do just like a gel liquid liner. I think I'm still using like Stila because they have this brown that I like. Today, I have Sarah Creel Lipstick on and a Sephora Lip Liner. That's like my version of the 5-Minute Face. I'm getting like very into makeup right now in a way that I wasn't before. I always just had like my OG products. I didn't really know what I was doing, but I knew how to use those and it was fine. And now I'm like really leaning in. That's my everyday makeup routine. That's what I do if I have five minutes, which was the next question. What makes the biggest difference? I have to say, less. And that was something that Kellyanne talked about too. She was like, the reason why people look good when they're using like a beauty blender or a sponge is because it's like pulling a lot of the makeup out. There are products that I want to try. Have you seen the Chanel Water Tint?
Speaker 3:
[27:21] I have, somebody was talking about it yesterday actually.
Speaker 2:
[27:23] Yeah, whoever started that on TikTok, I saw a video and this girl was like, I don't know, you influencers are so good. Like I'm so influenced. Suddenly everyone's talking about it. So I want to try that. I did hear that they have another one. It's like a water tint, but it's more like a concealer. I heard that one's a little bit better. Okay. Hot tip. I want to try the Victoria Beckham Augustinus Batter Foundation Drops. My next guest was responsible for that. I like cannot wait. She's had some iconic products. I don't know, there's so many things out there. How do I get glowy but not greasy? I think everybody who watches my podcast would say that I'm greasy. It's the number one comment that I get. I think it's gotten better. I look at some of my podcasts from that old studio, and I'm like, holy shit. I looked like I literally just rose from the sea, but not in a good way. My skin was very, very, very shiny. And that was the skincare that I was using. I was doing a lot. I was doing the Jan Marini with SkinCeuticals PTOX, which if you really want to look really, really shiny, use PTOX and Clarence Double Serum. Two products that I love, but if you're using those together, like you are going to look like a slick amphibian. Like it's just, you are. And on camera, that reads as greasy. And that's something that people don't realize. It's like camera and like the lighting and everything is going to reflect. And you're going to look different in every studio. And you never really know. But Kellyanne got me on to the Fenty Invisimat. Have you tried that?
Speaker 3:
[28:59] I have it in my bag at all times.
Speaker 2:
[29:01] Okay. Do you use the little blotter or do you use a brush?
Speaker 3:
[29:06] So it depends. When I'm on the go, I'll use the blotter just because it's there. But when I'm doing my makeup, I'll use it like on my forehead with like a brush.
Speaker 2:
[29:15] Okay.
Speaker 3:
[29:16] Yeah.
Speaker 2:
[29:16] Because I feel like the blotter for me makes it too powdery. But if I use a light brush, it's like, wow. Again, like, where has this been? People are like, you don't know how to do that.
Speaker 3:
[29:28] I mean, you saw the Super Bowl when she pulled it out.
Speaker 2:
[29:31] No.
Speaker 3:
[29:32] Oh, yeah. During her performance, she pulled it out.
Speaker 2:
[29:34] Rihanna did?
Speaker 3:
[29:35] Yes.
Speaker 2:
[29:36] Years ago? Yeah. I am so behind. I love it. Oh, my God. We're going to cut this whole segment where these products have been around for 10 years, like, where have you been? You're not telling us anything new. Wow. I love Fenty. I went to them and I was like, that's kind of how I found them because I don't know. Like, if I go to, I don't know, is she at Sephora?
Speaker 3:
[30:07] Yes. She's now at Sephora.
Speaker 2:
[30:08] Okay. Sephora, I think she was only at Ulta maybe. I go to Ulta once in a while. I wasn't like called to try them. And I worked with them last year and I was like, where have I been? So good. Some amazing formulas. I love her cream blush in Riri. I love her lip liners. I love her lip gloss. I think it's called lip gloss balm or something. I don't know. The powder is amazing. Yeah. Amazing. Okay. So I've been behind on that one, but that's how I'm glowy and not greasy. No, it's because of the Invisimat that Kellyanne turned me on to. I am not being vain or shallow. When I say that your hair can make or break your day, I know that I don't have to tell you, when you've had a bad hair day, it really can affect you. And conversely, when your hair looks good, you are definitely feeling yourself a little bit more. So I think a lot of people are starting to look at hair health a little bit differently. It's not just what you are putting on your hair, but it's a representation of what's going on internally as well. And that is where Neutrophil comes in. It's a clinically tested hair growth supplement that takes a more root cause approach, targeting things like stress, hormones, and overall wellness to support healthier, thicker looking hair over time. Neutrophil is also the number one dermatologist recommended hair growth supplement brand, and it's widely used by dermatologists themselves, which I think says a lot. In fact, a few years ago, when I was struggling with hair thinning, especially around my hairline, I had Neutrophil recommended to me not only from my dermatologist, but also from a nurse practitioner, from the person who was coloring my hair at the time, from a friend who's a plastic surgeon. So a lot of people recommended it. They have different formulas depending on your life stage and lifestyle, so it's not a one-size-fits-all approach. And it's really easy to add into your routine, just four capsules daily with a meal. That's it. I have used Neutrophil in the past, and it's one of those things that people stay consistent with because it's simple and designed to work over time, not overnight. So if you want your hair to be one less thing to think about this spring, you can go to neutrophil.com and use the promo code BLOND to get $10 off your first month's subscription plus free shipping. It is no secret how much I love and wear Vigori. I am always posting in it when I am at Pilates or doing my strength training or even just doing things throughout my day. It's so comfortable. That's why I constantly wear it. And I also love how versatile the pieces are. Everything just works for real life. I can wear it to work out in the morning or go on a walk or run errands or meet a friend. And it still looks put together. In fact, there are so many days where I go to fill my nighttime skincare routine, and I'm still wearing my Pilates outfit from the morning because it's so cute and comfortable. It doesn't feel like typical activewear. It's more elevated, like pieces you can actually wear all day and still feel chic. The fabric is also a huge part of it. I can not be wearing athleisure that looks cute, but is not comfortable. That's a no for me. Their Dream Knit material is incredibly soft, like truly some of the softest pieces that I own, but it still has that performance stretch, so it moves with you and it doesn't lose its shape. And I love the fit. Everything is really easy, flattering, relaxed, so it's the kind of thing you just throw on and you don't have to think about, but you still feel good in it. So if you're trying to build a wardrobe that is comfortable, but still looks polished, Viori makes that really easy. Viori is an investment in your happiness. And for my listeners, they're offering 20% off your first purchase. Just go to viori.com/well. That's vuori.com/well to get 20% off your first order. They also offer free shipping in the US on orders over $75 and free returns. I am so excited that this episode is sponsored by SKIMS because I have legitimately been wearing their bras and thongs for years now, no lie. I think I probably have like 50 of the Fits Everybody thong because I buy and I wear so many. It's just one of those things where once you find something that actually fits well and feels good, you don't really want to wear anything else. The fabric is so, so soft, so lightweight, breathable, and it just disappears under everything, which is exactly what you want. I also like that the one that I have, which is the dipped front, I feel like it's got that kind of higher waist, sexy, minimalist look. It makes your legs look longer and it's just very simple and chic and comfortable. And I feel like that is true across the board with everything from SKIMS. Their pieces are designed to be comfortable first, but they still look really good. Whether it's the bras, the underwear, or their lounge pieces, everything just fits in a really flattering, easy way. And I also love that they have so many different cuts and shades, so you can actually find what works for you and your wardrobe. It's not a one size fits all situation, which makes a big difference. So if you have been meaning to try SKIMS or you just want to upgrade your basics, this is a really good time to do it. You can shop skims at skims.com. And after you place your order, please be sure to let them know that I sent you by selecting my show in the podcast survey. Okay, so on a recent episode that I did about getting in shape for summer, one of the biggest things myself and this trainer talked about was how important it is to actually have a plan. Because I think so many of us, including myself at times, we end up just doing random workouts. We save things on Instagram. I cannot tell you how many videos I have saved on Instagram from this one trainer who shows how to build your butt, and I save them as though I'm going to someday replicate these routines, and I never do. We try different classes, we kind of piece things together, and then we wonder why we're not really seeing results, and this is exactly why I am now using the LADR app. It's not just a content library of workouts. It is an actual strength training plan designed by a real coach, and every workout builds on the last, every week builds over the last week. So you're progressing week over week instead of just guessing what to do and starting some random program. And right now, I'm doing one of their glute-focused programs because I am committed to growing my butt over the next eight weeks. But you guys know that I'm also doing Pilates and doing private strength training sessions that are focused on my whole body. This is just for my glutes, and I cannot wait to track my progress. And you can use it for whatever kind of workout you want to do, whether that's bodybuilding, Pilates, free weights. If you go into the gym and you feel intimidated because you don't know what to do, there is a program for that. So it also tracks everything for you, so you can actually see your progress over time, which is huge. So if you want to take the guesswork out of your workouts and follow a real plan, you can go to ladder.fit slash well, take the quick quiz to find your program and get a free 7-day trial with no credit card required, plus $10 off your first month if you join. Again, that's ladder.fit slash well. Okay, so let's talk about body and fitness. What am I doing for workouts right now? Currently, I'm doing either three days of Pilates, one to two strength training sessions a week, or like two strength, two Pilates. The number kind of changes depending on the week and my schedule and how many classes I can get to. But basically, it's like a split between Pilates and weight training. And then I'm trying to walk pretty much almost every day. I don't count my steps or anything, but I talk about this all the time. I schedule a lot of my calls and meetings for midday so that I can go and I can walk when I'm on those calls. And I'm like, camera off, sorry everybody. But I just think better. It's better for everybody if I'm like not sitting there on camera and staring at my computer because I can't think and I can't like process. And it's just for whatever reason when I'm like walking, I'm a lot sharper. And I also just feel better. Like I just don't feel fried. So I'm doing that for Pilates. I still go to Forma where I've always done it. And that's like a 50 to 55-minute class. And then for strength, I'm either working out with one of Hailey's trainers or I worked out with him again recently. And it feels really good because a year ago, I couldn't work out without having like one of my immune wear things, which we don't need to get into here. Although when I shared about it on my stories last week, it's crazy how many people were like dealing with the same thing, dealing with MCAS. I know numbers have gone up a lot since COVID and long COVID and maybe the vaccine and whatever. Like it's not political. It's just from what I was told from doctors, it was like maybe the spike protein. So whether you got that from the vaccine or you got that from having COVID, either way, it's like kind of changed people's immune systems. So I could not work out and I worked with a trainer last spring who helped me to kind of build up a tolerance where we would do like 20 minute training sessions until I felt like I was going to be like pushed into that glare place. And then like I stopped and then all summer I was traveling and I didn't work out or anything. And the fall, like it just was hard for me and I don't know, I just for whatever reason, the motivation is here now and it's like, yes, I want to look good, but that's not my motivator. And I feel like I maybe talked about this on my last solo episode. I feel like that's a byproduct. I feel like my motivation right now is feeling good, energy and feeling strong. And I feel all of those things. And I feel like those are the most sustainable motivators. Whereas like looking good is subjective anyway. And I know this from experience. When I was at my quote unquote fittest, leanest, like lowest percent body fat, I did not see myself that way. I was more critical of my body than I have been ever since. It was like smaller and the tighter that I got, the more imperfections I saw that I could try to fix. And you know, the same thing happens with aesthetics too. And I've been really open about this. Like when I was in a cycle of doing like Botox all the time and doing treatments and everything, you start to look for what else you can fix. And so I just think like, of course, we want to look hot. I've been doing so many videos and podcasts about how to get in shape for summer and how to glow up for summer and all of that. And there's nothing wrong with having that be part of the motivation. But because I know there's somewhere in my questions, people ask, what do you do when you're not feeling motivated? I just think the thing that's gonna carry you through the moments that you don't feel like doing it is how you're gonna feel on the other side of it, at least for me, not how I'm gonna look on the other side of it. I do feel like right now, for whatever reason, it's the combination of the Pilates and the strength, where I do feel like I'm building muscle and I'm not getting, quote unquote, bulky. And I know that every trainer that I've had on my podcast has said, people don't realize how hard it is to get bulky and to put on muscle. I disagree because I'm like, I do 10 pushups and I look like a fucking linebacker. That is just how my body is. So no, I reject that. I understand scientifically. And I think so many people agree with me though, because I hear this from women all the time and they're like, I work out and I get bulky. And yeah, part of it I think is like water weight and your muscles swell and all of that. But I know my body so well. And like, if I'm only doing weights, like I am puffing out and I'm like getting more muscular than I want to be. So I think that you just have to find the combination of things that works best for you. And I think there's like nothing better than Pilates for getting those like really like niche muscles, like things that you don't necessarily activate when you're doing weight training. And I feel like it does really help with that kind of like tightening. And then I think like just as women, we do have to be doing some kind of weights. And I'm not like lifting super heavy. And my weight training consists of a lot of like almost Pilates type moves, using machines and using resistance and using weights. But that has been the combo that I feel like maybe changing my body a little bit. And then of course diet is like such a huge piece of it. And I'll get to that. What do I do when I don't feel like it? I just do it anyway. I mean, there's no secret. What do you do when you don't feel like it?
Speaker 3:
[42:59] Feel like working out?
Speaker 2:
[43:00] Yeah.
Speaker 3:
[43:01] Well, I go to classes, so I know I'm going to lose money if I don't go.
Speaker 2:
[43:05] That's such a good point. And like that's something that I totally didn't even think of. Yeah. I do classes at Forma and then I do private training sessions. So it's like I have to go or I'm canceling and I'm losing my money. So I think whatever that looks like for you, whether that's like having an accountability partner or signing up for classes or whatever you think is going to get you there. But nobody is forcing you to go to class either. So you do have to have the initiative to get there. So I don't know, I just find that like, sometimes I have to treat myself like a third grader. Like I put my workout outfit out. I have it set out for the morning and once I'm there, I'm like, okay, I'm going to get in my car and go. But I haven't found the motivation piece to be too difficult because I do like feeling good. I really like feeling good and I feel good right now. And I want to keep feeling good. So that's like enough to get me out the door and get me there. The only time that it's hard for me is when I'm like, really, really sore. Yesterday, I was really sore because I had a different teacher on Monday at Pilates and I'm pretty sure she was like trying to murder me. Like in the first five minutes, I was like, I think I need to leave. This is so hard. So it was hard to get myself there yesterday, which was a Wednesday. Two days later, I was very sore, but I did it and I felt better. And I always say this, I probably sound like a broken record, but I feel like action precedes anything. Action precedes emotion, feeling, whatever. Sometimes you just need to override whatever your brain is telling you. Unless, of course, you're sick or you just feel... A month ago, when I was in that place of so much stress, I was like, I know that if I work out right now, my body is going to shut down. I just cannot. So I think the motivation comes when you have momentum and when you have a habit. And I think they say it takes, what, 21 days to build a habit. So you'll feel more motivated as you go. And it's like things in motion, stay in motion, things at rest, stay at rest. And I've found that to be so, so, so true. So I would say just like, don't even think about it and go. And then once you get there, like you always feel better that you're there. Okay, what am I eating in a typical day? That yogurt thing for breakfast. I have leftover dinner for lunch, which is usually some kind of protein, rice, sweet potato, veggie. I have like half a smoothie sometimes, not because I'm like trying to portion control my smoothie, but because if I have a whole one, I feel like I'm on crack. Like I get so much energy from smoothies. It's crazy. I'm like, how did I ever do cocaine? And then for dinner, I'll do usually the same thing, like some kind of protein, vegetable, carb. It's not that exciting. I go out to eat all the time. So if I go out, depending on where I am, I'm not going to be like, I need to have like protein. But I do my best. Supplements right now. My supplements right now are vitamin D, super, super high dose Omega 3, and that's based on blood work. So I wouldn't necessarily copy that. But I do feel like it's helped so much with like my joint pain that I got from my immune thing. And I've been using Lome, Dr. Karen Rajan, his fiber supplement, because I was like, wow, I am severely under eating fiber like most of us are. And it's a really easy way to get the fiber in. So I've been trying that out. I'll do Collagen, Magnesium 3 and 8 at night sometimes. I'm using this Magnesium Lotion that I've been putting on my feet. It may as well be like a tranquilizer. I don't even know what's in this, but it's like the deepest sleep of my life. It's crazy. So that's kind of like not really a supplement, kind of a topical, but I've been doing that. And I think that's it when it comes to supplements. Okay, I'm going to do more of like a rapid fire for some of these mindset and habit questions. Habits that make me feel my best. Well, aside from everything that I've been talking about this whole episode, not to be preachy, but the meditation. Like I don't know what I did without it. It's in my Q&A highlight on Instagram. I think that we've put a code because they gave me a code because I'm like an evangelist. So there should be a code for a 30-day trial, not an ad or anything. They're just, they don't work with anybody, I don't think. But they gave me this to share with you guys because I love it so much. So it's the Waking Up app. I do the daily meditation. People are like, are you doing the talks? Like people are stuck in an intro course or something. I'm like, no. I do the 10-minute meditation and it shows up in my thinking in like very subtle ways throughout the day. It's not a meditation where you sit there and you're like, hey, I'm like turning my mind off and no thoughts and like, I need to like achieve some kind of like groundedness or peace in this meditation. No, it's guided and it's actually making you think. And then the byproduct of that, it's like your perspective changes over time and your thinking changes over time. And it's very interesting and like subtle and impactful. So that makes me feel my best. Somebody asked small daily things that add up. I would say that's one that like for sure compounds. And just like the little habits that I've been talking about in this episode, like, I don't know, you don't have to do major overhauls of your life. I just feel like little tweaks. Something I'm working on right now, oh, time management, daily struggle, working on time management, working on boundaries with work. And I'm just like in a phase right now where I'm working from when I wake up, to when I go to bed. There's always something to do, and that's not good. So I'm trying to get out of that habit, because it doesn't feel good. Sometimes I wake up, I'm just being totally honest here, and I'm like, oh God, another day that I have to stare at my fucking phone all day long. It's not even on social media stuff. It's editing, and it's other parts of the job, and projects that I have, and everything. And I'm just like, oh my God. So I'm working on not doing that. That would probably be a whole other episode.
Speaker 3:
[49:34] Do you ever think about having two phones?
Speaker 2:
[49:36] No.
Speaker 3:
[49:37] Like one for work, social, all that, editing, and then one just like your personal phone?
Speaker 2:
[49:42] I can do that, because then I would just have more things that I'm talking about. I don't know. It's like when I go on Do Not Disturb, I don't know if you find this. I just put Do Not Disturb on. If I have DND on, I'm checking my phone more, because I'm like, I'm missing things. Like who's trying to contact me right now about what? That I'm not like, it just stresses me out. So I feel like if I had two phones, I would just be like constantly back and forth between, I don't know. I need to figure something out. It's hard. I don't know. I'm sure everybody struggles with that. We're all too connected. Okay. Rapid fire. One product I would repurchase immediately. So many. Let's sell a Max Toner. One habit that changed everything, the meditation. I've always, since 2018, I've meditated like almost every single day. So it's not like it's a recent habit that changed everything. Maybe my planner. I have to say, I don't know. I feel like everyone is already on the planner thing too. There's so many influencers that sell a daily planner. Have you seen this?
Speaker 3:
[50:42] Yeah, I was about to say merch.
Speaker 2:
[50:44] Yeah. I'm like, really? Like, are we? Okay. But oh my god, it's like so helpful just to like write things.
Speaker 3:
[50:52] And crossing it out so you can get it out of your head.
Speaker 2:
[50:54] It's so different from like, I don't know, when I look at things on my calendar, I'm like, it's just not the way that I want it to look and everything. And I can't cross it out. Yeah, it's actually made a huge difference. I carry it around with me everywhere. Because I think of things all day. Otherwise, I have eight million notes in my notes app. And it's like, I start them and there are two lines. And then I start a new note. So yeah, the planner. Most overrated trend. Ooh, what are trends right now?
Speaker 3:
[51:22] I don't think it's overrated, but whimsy is a trend. Bringing back whimsy.
Speaker 2:
[51:26] I don't even know what that is.
Speaker 3:
[51:27] OK.
Speaker 2:
[51:29] Are you looking it up?
Speaker 3:
[51:30] Yes.
Speaker 2:
[51:31] OK.
Speaker 3:
[51:33] I don't really see anything that's good, like analog hobbies. But I don't think that you think that that's an overrated trend.
Speaker 2:
[51:40] We are analog because we have daily planners. Yeah. That is an underrated trend.
Speaker 3:
[51:46] Yeah. Sardines.
Speaker 2:
[51:50] I love sardines. Oh my god. I mean, I don't love them. Let's not get it twisted. I am eating a lot of tinned fish right now. Sardines, mackerel. Another thing that if you guys go back and listen to the Monday episode, it's actually very, very good when it comes to nutrition, amino acids, omegas, vitamins, minerals. That's probably where the mineral seed was planted in my head because I'm like, why in the last two weeks did I feel like my body didn't have enough minerals? That's probably why. It's been to my subconscious. Great episode, though. Omegas, beauty. I think that that's like an overlooked thing that people are going to... Maybe not. I mean, so many people, we've been told to take omegas forever, but I feel like it really does help the skin plump. It just helps with inflammation, all of that. So that's like an underrated trend. We have to stop because we have a guest. Sorry. Well, I hope that was somewhat helpful for you guys. Giving you a snapshot of the things that I'm doing this spring to look and feel my best. I am going to start doing more solos because my studio is done. So we're going to have a new look, and there's going to be a lot more like one-on-one happening, especially before summer. So we'll be doing a lot more of those, so make sure that you send in topics, and I will continue to put up opportunities for Q&A and all of that. But if you DM me, I try to get back to everybody. It's very hard, but even if I don't respond in the DM, like I save it for these episodes. And that's it. Okay, love you. I hope you enjoyed that episode.
