[01:32] And welcome back to Always Here. We're your hosts, Abby Howard.

Speaker 2:
[01:36] And Abby Howard.

Speaker 4:
[01:37] It's good to be back.

Speaker 2:
[01:39] Oh baby, it feels like it's been a long time.

Speaker 4:
[01:41] A lot has happened.

Speaker 2:
[01:42] A lot has happened.

Speaker 4:
[01:44] We both had kind of busy weeks, as always, I feel like.

Speaker 2:
[01:47] Yeah, you had a very busy week. You and Matt, little jet setters, little Hollywood celebrities.

Speaker 4:
[01:56] I literally told Matt at the end of that day, I was like, okay, so we went to, I guess I'll explain.

Speaker 2:
[02:01] Yeah, it was so fun.

Speaker 4:
[02:02] We went to the iHeartRadio Music Awards in LA and we were brought out by Fox, which was really cool. So we got to do a lot tour of where they filmed The Sound of Music.

Speaker 2:
[02:14] I thought that was filmed in Austria, was it not?

Speaker 4:
[02:17] Maybe some scenes were, but a lot of the iconic scenes were in the Fox lot. And they were currently filming the new Baywatch, and we got to see all the sets for, which was really, really cool. And we got to talk to their casting directors. It was a really cool experience, because they don't actually do lot tours at Fox. They do them at Universal Studios and some of the other major production places.

Speaker 2:
[02:39] Oh, I didn't realize that.

Speaker 4:
[02:40] It was cool to just kind of see behind the scenes things. And then to go to the event was really cool. But in preparation, I have a funny story. I already told you this on Sunday, but I got a spray tan to go to the event, and I watched two in a row. Wow.

Speaker 2:
[02:58] Great couple of weeks, Abby. She's glowing.

Speaker 4:
[03:01] No, now I'm gone again. But I had to take the boys. I remember telling you, I was like, okay, well, now the boys have to go with me to the spray tan. And so I set them up on the chair in there. I wanted them to be in the same room because I was like, I don't know this space. Like they can't just be in the lobby. Like there was other people out there, but I was like, no, they can't be with me. And so I set them up like in a chair, like to the side. Like so they're like 180 degrees from me. And I had a show on for them and they each had their own bag of veggie straws. As soon as that machine turns on, actually as soon as I started taking off my clothes, I was like, just bottleneck, crazy, crazy. Their neck was like completely turned and they were just like silent and they were just eating veggie straws, watching me. And it was like a full on show. And then they didn't say anything. I put my clothes back on. It's quick. Like it was like 10 minutes max that were in there. Get back in the car. They're just like kind of quiet. And then which I'm not like they see me like go to the bathroom and they see me like these things. But it just felt like a new. I mean, I felt vulnerable.

Speaker 2:
[04:01] I feel like I should make it in this room. This is weird.

Speaker 4:
[04:04] What is this loud machine?

Speaker 2:
[04:06] Right.

Speaker 4:
[04:06] Why is she turning brown? And Griffin literally said to me in the car after like a prolonged silence, he goes, Hey, mom, what color is your butt?

Speaker 2:
[04:18] It's honestly an appropriate question.

Speaker 4:
[04:19] I was like, right now it's brown. I think that he was probably actually so confused.

Speaker 7:
[04:26] On what was happening. How are you changing colors?

Speaker 4:
[04:29] I was like, you know, this is one of those things where when they bring it up, we'll talk about it. But I think at this point, I was like, it's right now. It's probably brown.

Speaker 2:
[04:36] Yeah.

Speaker 4:
[04:37] He's like, OK, OK.

Speaker 2:
[04:39] That's me in a couple of hours after I start.

Speaker 4:
[04:42] It was really funny. That's so funny. I got to get all dressed up, which was fun.

Speaker 2:
[04:47] And you look so beautiful. Thank you. Beautiful. Did you do your own hair and makeup?

Speaker 4:
[04:51] Yeah, I did. I felt like my hair looked kind of, whoa.

Speaker 7:
[04:54] Oh, I thought you looked beautiful.

Speaker 5:
[04:55] Thanks, guys.

Speaker 4:
[04:56] Thanks, guys. I did my own hair and makeup because I don't know. I don't know that special. But I am actually I didn't even do get my makeup done for my wedding. I did it myself.

Speaker 2:
[05:07] I remember that. I remember I came back to the room and you guys were all getting ready and it was so sweet.

Speaker 4:
[05:11] I actually did my mom's makeup and my grandma's makeup and my friend's makeup by wedding day.

Speaker 2:
[05:16] Yeah. Well, you're good at makeup.

Speaker 4:
[05:18] Thank you. It doesn't take me long. I don't know how to do anything fancy. So I was like, I'll just do it really quick.

Speaker 2:
[05:22] I honestly think if you're you're good at makeup. I mean, you were a dancer and I feel like dancers, you and Addie both, you learn how to do makeup and you just you get used to what your face looks like. Yeah. So you guys have skills.

Speaker 4:
[05:33] Thank you. I didn't do anything super special, but it was really fun. They put us in a really nice hotel and which was great for the fact that it was like a solo trip on pelvic rest.

Speaker 7:
[05:49] So that was good for that?

Speaker 4:
[05:50] Terrible.

Speaker 2:
[05:52] I was just laying there.

Speaker 4:
[05:53] I was just got my kindle out.

Speaker 2:
[05:56] I guess we go to bed.

Speaker 4:
[05:57] We ordered room service and everything. It was so sad. Anyway, it was really sweet. Then we made a quick trip to Utah for a really special conversation on Unplanned that I have been looking forward to for such a long time.

Speaker 2:
[06:11] I can't wait to hear it.

Speaker 4:
[06:12] It was with Elizabeth Smart. So I don't know when it's coming out in relation to this episode, but it's actually going to be out before this episode.

Speaker 2:
[06:19] So maybe you've already seen it.

Speaker 4:
[06:21] That was a whirlwind travel experience. Get back home and you're back to reality. Bedtime bath or bath, bedtime. Get up the next morning.

Speaker 2:
[06:29] That's honestly the beauty of motherhood.

Speaker 7:
[06:32] Right back into it.

Speaker 4:
[06:33] Yeah, you get right back into it.

Speaker 2:
[06:34] I like it.

Speaker 4:
[06:35] It's great.

Speaker 2:
[06:36] I don't know. You come back, you're rested and then you're like, oh, the kids are just, it's like you're jumping back in. What am I trying to say?

Speaker 4:
[06:44] You never skip a beat.

Speaker 2:
[06:45] You never skip a beat. It never stopped. You know what I mean? Kids are just consistent.

Speaker 4:
[06:49] They are consistent.

Speaker 2:
[06:49] And it's so sweet.

Speaker 4:
[06:51] It is sweet. How was your week?

Speaker 2:
[06:52] It was good. We went to an MLB game last night, the Diamondbacks versus Tigers. We have a friend that plays on the Tigers. So our whole Bible study group went to, they sent us tickets and we all went, which is really fun. You know what? It was a little irresponsible to bring such a small baby.

Speaker 4:
[07:06] Why? Like outside.

Speaker 2:
[07:09] No, I don't regret it at all, but it was really loud. It was really loud.

Speaker 4:
[07:14] Do you have the headphones? You could have brought those.

Speaker 2:
[07:16] I know, I didn't even think about it.

Speaker 4:
[07:17] Oh, I wouldn't have thought about it either.

Speaker 7:
[07:19] We took Brielle when she was two and a half weeks old.

Speaker 2:
[07:22] Where'd you sit?

Speaker 7:
[07:24] We were in the upper deck section.

Speaker 4:
[07:26] Okay. Oh, she was a little quieter.

Speaker 2:
[07:29] Cause we took CJ, my sister and my brother-in-law took CJ when he was like 18 months old and we were up. So it wasn't that loud. So I just didn't think about it. And our seats were low. Like we were down.

Speaker 4:
[07:39] It was really loud.

Speaker 2:
[07:40] It was super loud.

Speaker 4:
[07:41] I wouldn't have thought about that.

Speaker 2:
[07:42] And she was okay with it, but I just felt like bad. But it was super fun. And we were up really late last night. We didn't get home until after 10. But it was good. Yeah, we got to go on the field after and see our friend. Yeah, so CJ got to go out there and he thought it was awesome. Yeah, it was really fun. So that was great. And I don't remember the weekend.

Speaker 4:
[08:00] I feel like CJ is gonna be a baseball guy. I could see him being a baseball guy.

Speaker 2:
[08:03] I think so too. Both of his grandparents love baseball. Caleb loves baseball. So I just feel like it's kind of ingrained in. Yeah, I mean, it's kind of the same for your boys too. Your dad loves baseball.

Speaker 4:
[08:15] Yeah, maybe they will.

Speaker 2:
[08:16] Yeah.

Speaker 4:
[08:17] I can't picture it right now.

Speaker 2:
[08:18] I honestly can't picture anything.

Speaker 4:
[08:20] I can't picture it right now.

Speaker 2:
[08:22] I'm like, CJ is still gonna grow up and just love trains.

Speaker 4:
[08:24] I'm just terrified of the thought of putting a bat in there.

Speaker 2:
[08:28] No, literally. I was gonna meddle in bats. That's so scary.

Speaker 4:
[08:30] I'm like, no, we're not gonna. You can't be trusted.

Speaker 2:
[08:33] No, and just flying baseballs around the house. I'm like, I don't know about that.

Speaker 7:
[08:38] I asked Blake what sport he wants girl to play, and he said soccer. He said, hmm, I wouldn't have thought of that one, but.

Speaker 2:
[08:44] Little girl playing soccer is the cutest thing ever.

Speaker 4:
[08:47] Me too.

Speaker 8:
[08:47] Me too.

Speaker 2:
[08:49] Cute.

Speaker 4:
[08:50] Actually, when I was walking out of the grocery store one evening last week, this guy was like super nice to our kids in the grocery store, and he was just a sweet guy. He was a grandpa. And then he's like, come with me to my car. And I was like, okay.

Speaker 2:
[09:03] Well, we're not supposed to do that. Sure. Matt was out of town, and then I was like, this is bad.

Speaker 4:
[09:08] My mom was with me. So I was like, this is fine. And he had in his trunk a bunch of like game balls that I don't know what he has some position with baseball. And he gave each of my kids full on heavy baseball, which they love.

Speaker 2:
[09:22] That's so sweet.

Speaker 4:
[09:23] But I'm also like, someone's going to get a black eye. Don't follow people to their cars.

Speaker 2:
[09:27] Oh my gosh. It's one of those moments where you're in it and you're like, this could have been a bad idea.

Speaker 4:
[09:31] I had a question that I just kind of looked to my mom and she was like.

Speaker 2:
[09:34] Oh, your mom was with you?

Speaker 4:
[09:34] Yeah, she was with me.

Speaker 2:
[09:35] Okay, your powering numbers.

Speaker 4:
[09:36] It was dark, so that's why I felt a little bit more.

Speaker 2:
[09:38] Oh my gosh, Abby, the story.

Speaker 4:
[09:40] Yeah, he was a super nice guy.

Speaker 2:
[09:42] He keeps going.

Speaker 4:
[09:43] He kept talking to us all throughout the grocery store and was like sweet, but.

Speaker 2:
[09:47] Great.

Speaker 4:
[09:48] Everything turned out okay.

Speaker 2:
[09:49] It worked out great and they have free baseball.

Speaker 4:
[09:50] Be weird, be rude, stay alive.

Speaker 2:
[09:51] That's right.

Speaker 4:
[09:53] But my hope that, this is great that it was a busy week, my hope is that I have high energy recently.

Speaker 2:
[09:58] Good.

Speaker 4:
[09:59] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[09:59] Took a turn.

Speaker 4:
[10:00] My energy feels like really high, honestly. I'm like, I get up in the morning, I'm like. I woke up at 530 this morning.

Speaker 2:
[10:06] What? Wow, you really do.

Speaker 4:
[10:09] Take you on my walks. Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[10:10] I was so the opposite, I couldn't leave the house today. I told you.

Speaker 8:
[10:13] You had a lot going on.

Speaker 2:
[10:14] I know. I was just one of those days where I looked at my children and I looked at myself and I was like, we're not leaving the house today. That happens. Yeah. There's no way. And I felt deep shame about it. Don't feel shame.

Speaker 4:
[10:27] That's what you're not supposed to do.

Speaker 2:
[10:30] It was Bible study. It's like, don't feel shame. And I'm like, I feel shame. I'm scared. I'm scared.

Speaker 4:
[10:35] No, we were just making sure you were safe.

Speaker 2:
[10:37] Yeah, I know.

Speaker 4:
[10:38] Because you're usually late. So I told everyone not to be concerned.

Speaker 2:
[10:41] Don't be concerned. She always gets here 30 minutes late.

Speaker 4:
[10:43] I'm always late and then you're always later than me.

Speaker 7:
[10:45] I know.

Speaker 4:
[10:47] You have a baby.

Speaker 2:
[10:48] She's not that young anymore. I'm like out of the range. I'm like, the newborn. It's like, girl.

Speaker 4:
[10:54] As long as you're nursing.

Speaker 2:
[10:56] I told Caleb I always miss burn workouts, or I always miss the warm-up. And he goes, how have you not made an adjustment? Like I was like, I don't actually know. I'm just accepted. And he's like, you should adjust. Every day, every day, 10 minutes late to the same things. He's like, how are you living your life like this?

Speaker 7:
[11:14] That is actually such a great thing to think about.

Speaker 2:
[11:16] Yeah. He's like, how have you just not made a change?

Speaker 4:
[11:20] Okay, Ouch.

Speaker 2:
[11:21] I'm like, you know, he said it like lighthearted and then it kind of stuck with me. I'm like, today is not the day.

Speaker 7:
[11:28] That's such an interesting thing to like, you guys both work out to a burn. I leave the house at 8.15 every single day. Like that is the time I leave the house and I get there plenty of time.

Speaker 4:
[11:37] I have to leave before that.

Speaker 7:
[11:38] But do you, you don't leave it like that exact time every day?

Speaker 2:
[11:42] No.

Speaker 4:
[11:43] Usually Augie poops his pants right around that time.

Speaker 2:
[11:45] That happens every day. I'm like, okay, loading up, blow out.

Speaker 4:
[11:51] I've changed diapers in my own garage. Okay. Because I'm like, now is the time.

Speaker 2:
[11:56] You're just standing there with your arms crossed, just waiting.

Speaker 4:
[11:58] Yeah. I'm like, I literally see him. I can tell. You know, mom knows.

Speaker 2:
[12:02] Yeah, they have.

Speaker 4:
[12:02] I was like, are you doing it right now? He's like, no. And I'm like, get on your back. Of course you are. Because you have somewhere to be.

Speaker 2:
[12:08] Right. No, of course you are. Because we were on time.

Speaker 4:
[12:14] Anyway, I feel like I have high energy. What was your hope?

Speaker 2:
[12:16] My hope is that...

Speaker 4:
[12:23] Sometimes it's like that.

Speaker 2:
[12:25] No, I have a lot of hope. I honestly can't think past this hour.

Speaker 7:
[12:31] Your hair. Your hair is different from what I think.

Speaker 3:
[12:33] Oh my God.

Speaker 2:
[12:34] Thank you.

Speaker 3:
[12:35] You look gorgeous.

Speaker 2:
[12:36] You know what? This is funny. I chopped a lot off. Thank you for saying I look good.

Speaker 7:
[12:43] This is a goofy episode so far.

Speaker 8:
[12:45] Sorry, I'm out of hands.

Speaker 2:
[12:46] I haven't talked to people till this moment.

Speaker 7:
[12:50] You haven't talked to an adult yet today?

Speaker 2:
[12:51] I mean, my mom was here, but I wasn't really talking. She was talking to me, and I was like, nice. I need to apologize. Okay. I don't know what came over me when I went in to get my haircut. I was like, I want to cut it short. And she's like, how short are we talking? And then she kind of put her hands where? And I said, shorter. And then there, and she was like, I was like, shorter. And she was like, okay, well, maybe let's just do like a quick rough chop, and then we'll go back and see and fix it up. And I don't know what came over me. I was just very daring. I just kept telling, I was like challenging her like shorter, shorter, shorter, to the point where she was like, hey, it's not gonna look good. Like your hair, it's so thick. And I need to text her and thank her for that advice because I'm trying to style up myself. I was like, go above the shoulder. Go to the chin. I was like getting crazy. She goes, hey, you know what? That's not gonna look good on you. And I was like, I appreciate that.

Speaker 7:
[13:40] Thank you.

Speaker 2:
[13:40] She had to shut it down. But it just came over me. I just kept challenging her.

Speaker 4:
[13:43] I love that about hairdressers though. I feel like they are honest. Like they are very-

Speaker 2:
[13:47] They have to be.

Speaker 4:
[13:48] Yeah, cause it's a pretty long term thing.

Speaker 2:
[13:49] And if we don't like it, we go back to them and they fix it for free. You know? So it's like, they don't really want that.

Speaker 4:
[13:54] They're like, I don't want to see you again.

Speaker 2:
[13:55] Yeah, I don't want to see you again.

Speaker 7:
[13:55] Please never come back.

Speaker 4:
[13:57] For a long time. No, it looks great. The mom chop.

Speaker 2:
[14:00] Yeah, it was time.

Speaker 4:
[14:01] How much did you get cut up?

Speaker 2:
[14:02] I think my hair was like to my nips. Nips?

Speaker 4:
[14:09] Okay, great.

Speaker 2:
[14:10] I don't know what inches look like.

Speaker 4:
[14:11] I'm not gonna comment on that.

Speaker 2:
[14:13] Seven inches? Six inches?

Speaker 4:
[14:15] My hard, I guess, I don't know. I feel like I cycle through this one all the time, probably like every four to six weeks, where I just feel like I'm not productive. And I'm just like every day, I'm just like, didn't get done what I wanted to done. And then I just beat myself up. And then I'm like, okay, well.

Speaker 2:
[14:31] Yeah.

Speaker 4:
[14:32] Try again tomorrow.

Speaker 2:
[14:33] Yeah, yeah, literally.

Speaker 4:
[14:35] That's just one of those things.

Speaker 2:
[14:37] I would say my heart is the same.

Speaker 4:
[14:39] Just like, I'm exhausted myself today. What do I have to show for it?

Speaker 2:
[14:44] I know. I looked at my floors. This is one of the things that was really bothering me today. I just felt like our house was such a wreck. I looked around and I was like, if food falls on the ground, it's not getting near anyone's mouth. Like normally our house is clean enough to where if something falls on the floor, I don't blink an eye. Our floors were so gross. There was no chance. Like I wasn't going to sit on the floor. It was just so gross. Like our house was dirty. And I just was like, this is not... No, I feel sick to my stomach about this. You can't live like this.

Speaker 4:
[15:12] No, I just, I feel like I had one too many days where I felt like I was just like hitting roadblocks. So I couldn't check something off of my list and I was just spinning my wheels.

Speaker 8:
[15:22] Yeah, it's hard.

Speaker 4:
[15:23] Well, you know what? Today is a new day.

Speaker 2:
[15:27] Today is a new day.

Speaker 7:
[15:27] On the other side, I'd say, I feel like you've done everything, everything I've asked of you, you've done for me.

Speaker 2:
[15:31] Really?

Speaker 7:
[15:32] Yeah.

Speaker 4:
[15:34] I feel like every time I'm like, and then I just start, I'm like frustrated with myself. Then I'm like, I just got to go get mad at Matt right now.

Speaker 7:
[15:42] Matt, give us that.

Speaker 2:
[15:43] I just need someone to blame.

Speaker 4:
[15:45] I feel like I've just been pointing out a lot of your flaws because I'm hating myself right now. He goes, thank you for apologizing. Yesterday, Caleb gave me a very careful response because it feels like shaky ground. Like when I'm going to put myself out there because I could lash back really quick.

Speaker 2:
[16:05] Yes.

Speaker 4:
[16:05] Because I'm feeling like I'm doing this.

Speaker 2:
[16:08] Yeah.

Speaker 4:
[16:08] Doing this. But then if he doesn't respond right, it's really dangerous. So he was quiet for a second. He goes, hey, thanks for saying that.

Speaker 2:
[16:18] That's a good response. You're welcome. Yesterday, I was feeling so... I had a great day. In the morning, went to the gym. My mom and I went shopping. It was just a really fun morning. Went to Berry Divine, got acai bowls. And then the last four hours of the day, Caleb, I said, come home at five so we can leave for the game. And then it was just a crazy four hours. And Caleb got home 30 minutes late from work. And I was called him. I said, where are you? And he was like, I'm so sorry, I'm coming. And then when he got home, I was just feeling irritated. And he was like, I'm so sorry. And then I looked at him and I was just like, I, there's no reason that I should feel irritated. I went shopping today. I went to the gym. I had a fun girl's morning. And just one hour of my day was stressful. And I'm like taking it out on you. I actually don't want you to apologize. That was nice. I was like, this is a pride thing. I actually had a really easy day.

Speaker 7:
[17:14] Blake did that, what you were saying to me the other day, cause I'm very volatile sometimes. And sometimes I forget to throw diapers away. They just, you know, end up where they end up.

Speaker 2:
[17:23] Yeah.

Speaker 7:
[17:24] Blake very, very kindly came up and said, thank you. You've done so much today. Like doing the dishes and doing, like cleaning up the house. Like I really noticed that. Just like, can we be better about throwing the diapers away?

Speaker 4:
[17:36] Oh, cause would your dogs eat them?

Speaker 7:
[17:37] No, they don't eat them anymore. He was just, he just stuck.

Speaker 2:
[17:40] Oh, he just got a problem.

Speaker 7:
[17:41] He just hates them. He just hates them out.

Speaker 4:
[17:43] I see no problem.

Speaker 7:
[17:45] I exploded on him. I'm like, he's like, every time, and then we debrief afterwards. And he's like, how was I supposed to present that any nicer? I'm like, you just don't present it. You just don't say anything.

Speaker 4:
[17:57] I honestly, there's sublimity to that.

Speaker 2:
[17:59] It's so funny.

Speaker 7:
[17:59] He like really, he knows when he's like, I'm like, just don't say it then.

Speaker 4:
[18:05] If you knew, then you should have.

Speaker 7:
[18:06] If you knew, it might be an issue.

Speaker 2:
[18:07] He's like, got it. So, can't say anything.

Speaker 7:
[18:10] I'm like, so remember those other 15 diapers I did throw away? Like, this is one.

Speaker 2:
[18:14] I know, so funny.

Speaker 7:
[18:16] I fall into that territory.

Speaker 2:
[18:17] That's real life. That's real life.

Speaker 4:
[18:19] Disgusting.

Speaker 2:
[18:20] Well, that was good. Hopefully we can all relate to that. Really, everyone can relate.

Speaker 4:
[18:25] Everybody, exciting news. It's already gone live, the live event. I don't actually know if by the time you're hearing this, if there are any slots available, but if there are, check that link and snag your spot because they are limited. And I mean, I don't want to toot our own horns, but I'm expecting it's full at this point. But might as well give it a shot.

Speaker 2:
[18:46] It was full last time. That's why I thought we could.

Speaker 4:
[18:48] And we're excited to see you if you're signed up. So this will be really fun. We're doing a little workout, a little hangout afterwards, and it's gonna be really fun.

Speaker 2:
[18:56] So fun. I cannot wait. It's gonna be, it's tomorrow.

Speaker 7:
[19:00] Yeah, it's tomorrow.

Speaker 2:
[19:00] Yeah. Oh, heck, heck. Heck, girl. You're gonna get your trainer microphone on.

Speaker 4:
[19:05] I can't even work out, so what am I gonna do?

Speaker 2:
[19:07] You just walk around the room.

Speaker 4:
[19:09] I'll just start doing my laps with my headphones on.

Speaker 2:
[19:11] You're actually doing building laps.

Speaker 4:
[19:13] You guys, I keep seeing the same neighbors every time, because I also do like two laps.

Speaker 2:
[19:18] I'm like, hello, it's me again.

Speaker 4:
[19:20] Again. You never know when you're gonna find me. I got rained on this morning on my walk. Oh, I love that.

Speaker 2:
[19:26] That sounds really nice.

Speaker 4:
[19:28] It was dark though, so.

Speaker 2:
[19:30] Oh, my gosh, Abby. 5.30 in the morning?

Speaker 4:
[19:32] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[19:33] Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 4:
[19:35] Gotta do what you gotta do. It takes a long time and I can't take my kids with me.

Speaker 2:
[19:38] It's true.

Speaker 4:
[19:38] So, it's a good idea.

Speaker 2:
[19:40] I'm excited for today's episode.

Speaker 4:
[19:41] I'm very excited. I was actually getting, like, a lot of these things that I'm brought up, I'm, like, passionate about. I'm like, oh, I could talk forever about this.

Speaker 2:
[19:51] Oh, my gosh, I can't wait.

Speaker 4:
[19:52] That's actually... Let's wrap it up.

Speaker 2:
[19:54] This idea was one of our original ideas. We're doing an Abby's favorites episode.

Speaker 4:
[19:58] Think of us as Oprah.

Speaker 2:
[19:59] Think of us as Oprah. Think of us as YouTubers. Yes. Yes. Remember when YouTubers used to do, like, monthly favorites videos? Yes.

Speaker 4:
[20:06] I loved that. That's actually my most YouTube era. I went back with this episode just to kind of, like, look at... I just went through some of the thumbnails of the ones I watched.

Speaker 2:
[20:14] Yeah.

Speaker 4:
[20:14] And I was like, Oh my gosh, all these videos are, like, nine to 12 years ago.

Speaker 2:
[20:17] Yes. I used to watch them every month.

Speaker 4:
[20:19] Yes.

Speaker 2:
[20:20] Some of those OG beauty guru creators, Jaclyn Hill, I lived off her videos.

Speaker 4:
[20:24] When everyone was talking about the naked palettes.

Speaker 2:
[20:26] Oh, I still have my naked palettes.

Speaker 4:
[20:27] I still have my naked palettes.

Speaker 2:
[20:29] Everyone's got it. It surely expired.

Speaker 4:
[20:31] I have the naked too.

Speaker 2:
[20:33] I never got the two. It was cool toned, so.

Speaker 4:
[20:36] Oh, I didn't know my tones at all. I just got what I got.

Speaker 2:
[20:41] I know. Thank you Quince for sponsoring today's episode.

Speaker 4:
[20:44] I have been doing a little wardrobe reset recently. Quince is always a go-to for me. I really love focusing on quality products. That is something that I can speak to Quince for. Their pieces are just really well made, versatile. I specifically love their fleece shorts. I talk about them a lot. They're just super comfortable. They're the perfect mom short, I feel like. And they can fit over my bump. And I anticipate I'll also be able to wear them after pregnancy as well.

Speaker 2:
[21:08] I'm the same. I love quality pieces over quantity. They do a really good job of having really high quality fabrics. So we're talking 100% silk that's washable, cashmere blended sweaters. It's just nice knowing that the fabrics that you're putting on your body are well made. They're good for you. They're good for the planet.

Speaker 4:
[21:23] They use premium materials like 100% European linen, organic cotton and super soft denim, with styles starting around $50.

Speaker 2:
[21:31] Their spring pieces are lightweight, breathable and effortless, the kind of things you can throw on and instantly look put together. That same focus on materials carries over into their accessories like their leather bags which are made from 100% hand woven Italian leather. Honestly, they look way more expensive than they are.

Speaker 4:
[21:45] And how Quince does it is they work directly with the ethical factories to cut out the middleman to provide you with affordable prices with such high quality materials and fabrics.

Speaker 2:
[21:55] Refresh your spring wardrobe with Quince. Go to quince.com/abby for free shipping and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too. So go to quince, quince.com/abby for free shipping and 365 day returns. quince.com/abby.

Speaker 4:
[22:13] Instead of going straight into our favorites, we're going to talk about some of the, in our opinion, overhyped, overpraised, maybe overpriced products, just ones that were kind of flops.

Speaker 2:
[22:24] Let us down.

Speaker 4:
[22:25] And we actually polled you guys on the Always Here podcast Instagram, which if you're not following us, please follow us there because it's really fun. We usually try to engage with you guys on there like every week for these episodes. So it's fun when this is kind of like a mutual thing. We give you some, you give us some. It's just fun this way. So you want to start naming some of these?

Speaker 2:
[22:46] Okay, you're not going to agree with this first one.

Speaker 4:
[22:47] No, I don't. I already don't.

Speaker 2:
[22:49] She said chomps. This is Ashlyn.

Speaker 4:
[22:51] Chomps.

Speaker 2:
[22:51] You love chomps.

Speaker 4:
[22:53] I mean, yeah, I think it's a great snack.

Speaker 2:
[22:55] I've actually never had a chomp.

Speaker 4:
[22:56] What?

Speaker 7:
[22:58] You've never taken one from Abby's house?

Speaker 2:
[23:00] I've never had a chomp. I get these turkey sticks from Sam's and to be honest, the casings on these beef sticks are a little freaky, but I-

Speaker 4:
[23:07] Your turkey sticks are a weird color.

Speaker 2:
[23:09] They, yeah, they are.

Speaker 4:
[23:12] They're really thick and long.

Speaker 7:
[23:13] I just think it's a good option for protein.

Speaker 2:
[23:15] That's why I buy them.

Speaker 4:
[23:15] Yeah, for protein.

Speaker 2:
[23:17] It's a good protein, yes.

Speaker 4:
[23:18] Okay, this one says Stanley Cups.

Speaker 2:
[23:20] You know, I would agree. Only be cut. I love the 40-ounce Traveler. I don't think that's overhyped, but the lid.

Speaker 4:
[23:27] Right. Spilling.

Speaker 2:
[23:28] There's just better options now. Gracie said, baby swaddles.

Speaker 4:
[23:34] That moral reflex. What are you doing?

Speaker 2:
[23:36] What are you talking about? Yeah.

Speaker 4:
[23:38] Are your kids just chill?

Speaker 2:
[23:40] Your kids don't squirm in the night. Rebecca said, honestly, smartphones overhyped and addictive.

Speaker 4:
[23:46] Addictive for sure.

Speaker 2:
[23:48] Totally overhyped.

Speaker 4:
[23:49] I would if I had to switch to one of those, like what do they call those block phones? I thought about it. Block phones.

Speaker 7:
[23:56] You can put block on a smartphone.

Speaker 4:
[23:58] Oh, that's not what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2:
[23:59] You're talking about brick.

Speaker 7:
[24:00] Oh, I'm thinking of brick, maybe block is a thing.

Speaker 4:
[24:03] I don't know. They have these like basic phones. And I was like, for a while, that sounded good. But I was like, I would have to really adjust. Like, do I get a map at that point? Like, do I get a physical map? How do I find phone numbers for like anything? Right. It just feels like it would be way more complicated to get rid of it now.

Speaker 2:
[24:20] I do, too. Yeah. Apple's done a wonderful job of keeping us in the ecosystem. I think it needs the hype. Jalen. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm reading them all.

Speaker 4:
[24:27] No, I like it.

Speaker 2:
[24:29] You read it.

Speaker 4:
[24:30] Where are we at?

Speaker 2:
[24:31] OK.

Speaker 7:
[24:31] Some of these I have in here because I'm like, I know you guys will disagree.

Speaker 4:
[24:34] Crumble cookies. I can agree that, yeah. Some of them are. I mean, I enjoy them.

Speaker 2:
[24:38] Yeah.

Speaker 4:
[24:39] They're very sweet.

Speaker 2:
[24:40] I'm never going to be upset when they're presented to me.

Speaker 4:
[24:43] I got to be honest. I watch a review of their cookies every week still.

Speaker 2:
[24:47] People are just mean to be mean about crumble, if I'm going to be honest.

Speaker 4:
[24:50] Yeah. They're like, it's not baked properly. I'm like, oh, are you a baker?

Speaker 2:
[24:53] Are you? Yeah. I'm sorry, professional. You want a cookie for being so smart at cookies? Like what are we doing?

Speaker 7:
[25:00] Not a crumble cookie.

Speaker 4:
[25:02] I really want to try this week's lineup, but it doesn't look like I'm going to make my way there. But I mean, I can see that there.

Speaker 2:
[25:08] I mean, there's a lot of hype.

Speaker 4:
[25:10] I love a cookie though. Vibration plates.

Speaker 2:
[25:12] I'm sorry. This is a scam. This is just a scam. You've seen those plates where the girls stand and I'm like just going...

Speaker 7:
[25:18] What?

Speaker 2:
[25:18] You know what I'm talking about? Yeah.

Speaker 7:
[25:21] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[25:21] And they're like, it's like lymphatic drainage and it's like doing 50 squats.

Speaker 7:
[25:25] This might have been the most submitted thing, was the vibration plate. Which I think is a big thing right now.

Speaker 2:
[25:32] This is on the same, this is on par with me with the red light therapy masks. I'm sorry, ladies.

Speaker 4:
[25:36] Where are these? Wait, what is a vibration plate?

Speaker 2:
[25:38] Like you stand on this plate.

Speaker 4:
[25:39] At your house?

Speaker 2:
[25:40] It looks like a scale, like a weight scale. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you would just do it while you're brushing your teeth and it vibrates and shakes your whole body. And people are like, it's really good for your circulation. I'm like, just stretch. You know what I mean?

Speaker 4:
[25:51] Circulation?

Speaker 2:
[25:52] Yeah. I don't know what the benefits of it are. I don't know. I'm just assuming some of these claims, but I agree, Kennedy.

Speaker 4:
[25:58] Yeah, that doesn't sound right.

Speaker 2:
[26:01] Okay. This next one's, oh, she's kind of, she put a list, claw clips, Oreos, dry shampoo. I have to disagree on Oreos. Oreos I never buy or eat, buy them, but when I eat them, yeah, the sleeve is gone. They're so good.

Speaker 4:
[26:14] That's the one you chose to disagree on.

Speaker 7:
[26:19] I will say with Oreos, you can't get a knock off Oreo. It does not taste the same.

Speaker 2:
[26:22] If it's not double stuff, get out.

Speaker 4:
[26:24] The other day, I've been buying Oreos.

Speaker 2:
[26:31] Oh my God.

Speaker 7:
[26:31] Matt was eating a golden Oreo.

Speaker 2:
[26:34] Golden?

Speaker 4:
[26:35] I wanted the golden one.

Speaker 7:
[26:36] And he walks over and starts talking to Abby, and she goes, could you just eat a golden Oreo?

Speaker 2:
[26:41] I could smell it on it.

Speaker 4:
[26:43] Those are Michael G. No, I had a genius pregnancy craving idea. I was like golden Oreos in a vanilla milkshake with malt powder. It was delicious.

Speaker 2:
[26:53] That does sound really good, but I don't think anything with a cookie blended in is bad.

Speaker 4:
[26:56] Okay, wait, claw clips and dry shampoo. No, those are pretty great.

Speaker 2:
[27:01] They're great.

Speaker 4:
[27:02] Katie says, clean, simple eats, clear protein. Girl, I love their regular protein powder, but I can't go with the clear.

Speaker 2:
[27:08] Really?

Speaker 4:
[27:09] Strongly disagree.

Speaker 2:
[27:11] Some flavors do taste more stevia than others. So I think it depends. I think it's flavor dependent. So I don't fully disagree.

Speaker 4:
[27:17] I mean, have you tried the sour watermelon?

Speaker 2:
[27:19] The sour watermelon's so good. I just got the pink starburst one. It's great.

Speaker 4:
[27:23] That one's the second best. They can make a fruit punch one.

Speaker 2:
[27:26] I love fruit punch. Wait, I didn't like their sodas, the clear protein.

Speaker 4:
[27:29] Yeah, those are different. I mean, I like them, but they definitely don't have a different flavor. Different aftertaste.

Speaker 2:
[27:35] Yeah, but the powder's amazing.

Speaker 4:
[27:37] Oh, I disagree, Jordan. This next one is the Duna car seat slash stroller.

Speaker 2:
[27:41] That thing is the love of my life.

Speaker 4:
[27:43] I don't know how to have a baby without it.

Speaker 2:
[27:45] I mean, what do you mean? You just keep a pumpkin or you're carrying a pumpkin around? No, is that wheels in the back of your trunk?

Speaker 4:
[27:50] How does that work? No, no, no, no.

Speaker 2:
[27:52] I don't know about that.

Speaker 4:
[27:53] I don't know about that.

Speaker 7:
[27:55] Are those people? I have a Duna too. Yeah. So I'm like, I don't.

Speaker 2:
[27:57] I don't know how you live without it.

Speaker 7:
[27:59] But also, are these people who are saying it's overrated? Have they had one?

Speaker 2:
[28:03] True. Or do they have the Nuna? The people are like, the Duna is expensive, but the Nuna is like double the price.

Speaker 4:
[28:08] No, it's very expensive.

Speaker 7:
[28:09] The Nuna doesn't do the same thing that a Duna does.

Speaker 2:
[28:11] No, you got to carry the pumpkin and transport it.

Speaker 7:
[28:13] I do understand it is heavy, but what you do, you just take a kid out of it whenever you need.

Speaker 4:
[28:18] You just have to get stronger as your baby gets bigger.

Speaker 2:
[28:20] Exactly.

Speaker 7:
[28:21] Don't look at Abby's video from a really long time ago, when you were like, this is why I work out.

Speaker 2:
[28:28] Literally.

Speaker 4:
[28:28] I got to tote my 18-month-old huge baby in a Duna.

Speaker 2:
[28:32] He was in that Duna a long time.

Speaker 4:
[28:34] Really long time. People were like, oh, I got to get rid of the Duna. They grew out of it. I'm like, they did not grow out of it.

Speaker 7:
[28:42] That's what you said with the back of that, too.

Speaker 4:
[28:44] I was like, they did not grow out of that.

Speaker 2:
[28:47] This gal said, bottle warmers and baby-specific laundry detergent. I would agree with this. I've never had a bottle warmer, but.

Speaker 7:
[28:53] I don't understand not having a bottle warmer. I don't get it. I bottle warm every...

Speaker 4:
[28:57] You guys are interested in warming bottles.

Speaker 2:
[28:59] Yeah, I don't have one, but I'm not like opposed.

Speaker 7:
[29:01] Do you just take cold milk out of the fridge if you're giving them a bottle?

Speaker 2:
[29:04] No, I just take the bag and I run under smoking hot water in the sink.

Speaker 7:
[29:09] I don't want to sit there. I want to put it in the bottle warmer and walk away.

Speaker 4:
[29:12] And then it really doesn't take long.

Speaker 2:
[29:13] Why do you have to sit? Why do you have to sit there?

Speaker 4:
[29:15] It takes longer to do the bottle warmer, if I'm totally honest with you.

Speaker 2:
[29:17] And also, one time I saw you guys, I think Blake had it in like...

Speaker 4:
[29:19] Blake boils water still to this day in a pot.

Speaker 7:
[29:22] Well, it's because we pack it in a bottle. That's why we do it like that.

Speaker 2:
[29:26] But it is harder if it's in a bottle. When it's in a bag, it's not as hard.

Speaker 7:
[29:29] We always pack it in a bottle.

Speaker 4:
[29:30] Like if you were running a bottle under the sink, that would never work probably. But the bag, it warms up really quick, quicker than a bottle warmer.

Speaker 2:
[29:36] I would agree.

Speaker 7:
[29:37] Maybe we'll try that next time.

Speaker 4:
[29:38] But no, I was going to say, I do want to get a bottle warmer next time.

Speaker 7:
[29:41] Okay. I think it's probably...

Speaker 2:
[29:42] You guys still boil the water on the stove because it's in a bottle. Do you use glass bottles?

Speaker 7:
[29:47] No, we use plastic bottles. But he doesn't... We don't have a bottle warmer here.

Speaker 2:
[29:50] Right.

Speaker 7:
[29:51] So at home, we do have a bottle. And we have a portable bottle warmer now.

Speaker 2:
[29:53] I was always confused why you guys had the boiling pot. But that makes sense because it's in the bottle.

Speaker 4:
[29:56] Blake left a pot of water on my stove so many times.

Speaker 7:
[29:59] And also one of the time running.

Speaker 4:
[30:01] Like he left the stove on all day.

Speaker 2:
[30:05] I've done that before. Yeah, I've done that before.

Speaker 4:
[30:08] But we've gassed. It's a little concerned.

Speaker 7:
[30:10] Baby specific laundry detergent though.

Speaker 2:
[30:13] I would agree with that. Yeah, you just get a clean, just get a scent free one.

Speaker 4:
[30:16] Free and clear.

Speaker 7:
[30:17] She doesn't have any reaction to me. So I'm like, if she's on my, you know what I mean? Like if your baby's not having a reaction to your clothes being near you.

Speaker 4:
[30:26] Our kids did actually.

Speaker 2:
[30:27] That's kind of a good point, Abby. It's like you're washing your kid's clothes and other things, but you're holding your kids when you've got detergent. That's not...

Speaker 4:
[30:32] I don't even think DREFT is good for like the famous brand DREFT. It's not even probably good. It's very fragranced.

Speaker 2:
[30:40] Yeah, I love it because I have it.

Speaker 7:
[30:41] Once I run out, I'm not buying it.

Speaker 4:
[30:43] Yeah, I mean, I like it because it reminds me of a baby. Yeah, but I don't think I'm like doing something special for them. Teeth whitening at home literally leaves my teeth sensitive.

Speaker 2:
[30:53] I did it today actually, but I use the Lumina ones. They don't leave me sensitive or the Eno Pro, but apparently a dentist said those don't work. So, I did ads for them. I thought they worked.

Speaker 4:
[31:03] I have fake teeth, so I can't know.

Speaker 2:
[31:05] Yeah, okay.

Speaker 4:
[31:07] Buying a house. Everything is always breaking and we, my husband, have to fix it.

Speaker 2:
[31:13] That's so real.

Speaker 4:
[31:14] Honestly, kind of true.

Speaker 2:
[31:15] My husband in parentheses.

Speaker 4:
[31:18] 25 step skincare routines.

Speaker 2:
[31:19] Absolutely.

Speaker 4:
[31:21] Your skin can only take so much.

Speaker 2:
[31:22] Yeah, I don't know. That's not all soaking in.

Speaker 4:
[31:24] Layers four through 25 are breaking the barrier.

Speaker 2:
[31:30] Yeah, your barrier is broken.

Speaker 4:
[31:31] Dyson Airwrap.

Speaker 2:
[31:33] I don't have one, so I can't say.

Speaker 4:
[31:35] I don't have one. I actually wrote this as one of my personal flops.

Speaker 2:
[31:37] Oh, interesting.

Speaker 4:
[31:38] I borrowed one. I've borrowed them actually, I could say like two to three times. It's actually one of the most returned products.

Speaker 2:
[31:44] Interesting. I mean, it's really expensive, so.

Speaker 4:
[31:46] It's difficult to use. It's hard to use. There's a line curve. But even when you do use it, it takes a while for me at least, and your hair just falls right out.

Speaker 2:
[31:54] It does. Okay, so I have the T3 micro version and I like it, but I had to lower my expectations of what my curl is going to look like. It's like a blowout look. It's just like a movement, but I'm like, that's a lot of work for a light curl.

Speaker 4:
[32:06] Just curl the ends of your hair.

Speaker 2:
[32:07] I know. Totally.

Speaker 4:
[32:08] Heatless curls. I agree.

Speaker 2:
[32:10] I agree. I did it twice and I was like, I'm out on this.

Speaker 4:
[32:12] I don't want a headache and I want to sleep good and I want to be comfortable. And I don't care. My hair looks like...

Speaker 2:
[32:16] Cybertruck. I don't have an opinion. I feel like it's a good billboard.

Speaker 4:
[32:22] I think they're hideous.

Speaker 2:
[32:23] I mean, yeah, they're stupid. Here's what I think about them. I appreciate the innovation.

Speaker 4:
[32:27] I agree.

Speaker 2:
[32:28] I like that it's different.

Speaker 4:
[32:29] My sons think they're cool.

Speaker 2:
[32:30] Right. I'm like, you know, I like that it doesn't look like a normal car, but that's as far as my appreciation goes for.

Speaker 4:
[32:35] There will be a Cybertruck in our driveway.

Speaker 2:
[32:40] Did you order?

Speaker 4:
[32:41] Matt Howard did.

Speaker 2:
[32:43] What about your mom car?

Speaker 4:
[32:44] I don't... I'm getting a mom car still. He literally told me.

Speaker 7:
[32:50] But Abby, you're the spender. I'm the spender.

Speaker 4:
[32:54] I'm getting a freaking Kia Carnival.

Speaker 2:
[32:56] Yeah, baby. He's like not the minivan, but the Cybertruck.

Speaker 4:
[33:00] I was like, that feels like a dad car.

Speaker 2:
[33:02] Matt's getting a truck.

Speaker 4:
[33:03] He drove a truck in high school and he just misses that.

Speaker 2:
[33:06] Oh, I thought that was Caleb's truck. Did they share it?

Speaker 4:
[33:08] I feel like Caleb's taking a couple minutes.

Speaker 2:
[33:10] Probably. Yeah, he probably did. Okay. Mentioned already on the pod, but red light therapy, love from Ireland, Maria. We are one.

Speaker 4:
[33:20] Eye masks. Why are we wearing them to our workouts? I feel like they are worn.

Speaker 2:
[33:25] You're supposed to wear them for like 10 minutes.

Speaker 4:
[33:26] Like why are they worn for hours?

Speaker 2:
[33:28] I don't know. It's performative.

Speaker 4:
[33:29] I haven't worn them because it feels like it's going to over-stimulate me, like the sticker on my face.

Speaker 2:
[33:36] I actually really like them. Really? I used the ones, they were just from Amazon. It was, Therese and Honor was the brand. And I wore them every morning for a month, and I noticed a huge difference in my under-eyes. Yeah. So, and those weren't that expensive, but yeah, you only wear them for like 15 minutes.

Speaker 7:
[33:50] I saw a video of a creator wearing them, and she started in the morning, and then went and got her hair done. And she had them on the entire, like hair coloring, everything, like the whole thing.

Speaker 4:
[33:59] They're becoming the new pimple stickers.

Speaker 7:
[34:00] They are the pimple patches.

Speaker 2:
[34:01] But they don't even, why? They don't last that long. Unless you're like replacing them, maybe she's replacing them. No, no.

Speaker 6:
[34:09] Hmm.

Speaker 4:
[34:11] Mrs. Cammie's tear has a controversial one.

Speaker 2:
[34:17] Spicy, Miss Cammie.

Speaker 4:
[34:18] You can say it.

Speaker 2:
[34:19] Condoms. Do you know what I mean? When you are married, they're just the most horrible thing.

Speaker 4:
[34:25] I agree.

Speaker 2:
[34:25] I'm team, team that. I'm team condom. Listen, I'm not trying to have a baby. And I'm not doing the other stuff. So, Caleb's-

Speaker 4:
[34:33] There's other ways. Hocus-

Speaker 2:
[34:37] No, we love our hocus-

Speaker 4:
[34:38] That's on my list. I love the color and feel, but they were not durable and barely lasted me three months.

Speaker 2:
[34:44] Oh, you know what? Mine lasts about, I would say if I wear mine a lot, they last like six to eight months. They're not like a full year long shoe.

Speaker 4:
[34:52] Yeah, but that's like any running shoe.

Speaker 2:
[34:54] They're also meant for running only. Like, you're not supposed to wear them all the time. So, if you're a nurse or something, I feel like if you're like, you're putting your pound on the pavement on those, I could see you running through them quickly.

Speaker 4:
[35:02] But what else are you gonna wear?

Speaker 2:
[35:04] No, I'm saying they should, but I could see them outlasting as long if you're using them that often. Like, I only wear mine on walks and runs.

Speaker 4:
[35:09] This next one actually creates a reaction. I mean, Kindles? Mary?

Speaker 2:
[35:15] I'm sorry, we're disagreeing at all. Do you have one?

Speaker 7:
[35:18] I did, I was like, I'm gonna pick ones that I think-

Speaker 2:
[35:21] Addie's rage mating us. Why are you rage mating me? I love Kindles. Riley said Dr. Pepper's low-key gross.

Speaker 1:
[35:28] Addie loves Dr. Pepper.

Speaker 7:
[35:30] Getting Dr. Pepper zero every day.

Speaker 2:
[35:32] That's so funny. I don't like Dr. Pepper personally, but-

Speaker 7:
[35:35] I don't like Coke. And I used to always, my maiden name is pronounced Coke. And I was like, it's so, I should like Coke. Like I literally took that personally. I was like, I should be liking it. That's one of the things you were stuck on. I should never be a Coke. That's why. I was meant to be Abigil.

Speaker 2:
[35:48] Addie, I never said your last name for a long time. Cause I was like, is it Cotch? Is it Cotch?

Speaker 7:
[35:52] People said it a lot. It's K-O-C-H spelled Coke. Blake tells me it's pronounced Coke. I'm like, that is not how my- I still tell you how my last name is pronounced.

Speaker 2:
[36:01] He's like, you're actually wrong. Danny said e-bikes. Maybe.

Speaker 4:
[36:06] Maybe. I kind of agree. I was like, I want my kids to pedal their own bike, but then I realized it'd be left behind.

Speaker 2:
[36:11] I know. I would say that all the time. Like, poor CJ is going to be left in the dust by these kids. Lululemon leggings, 100% disagree.

Speaker 4:
[36:20] I kind of agree, but I'd just be private on that one.

Speaker 2:
[36:24] Well, I'll talk about this later.

Speaker 4:
[36:26] Abby drank the potion because she worked there.

Speaker 2:
[36:30] Don't steal one of my stories for later, ladies.

Speaker 4:
[36:33] Okay. Now, let's go into our personal flops. We already said my first one, which was Airwrap.

Speaker 2:
[36:38] I can't say. Oh, that was on your list.

Speaker 4:
[36:39] I used it. Yeah. I used it a couple of times with friends because I was seriously going to buy one. This was in the time where you couldn't even buy one because they were being bought all the time. But turns out most of those ended up returned. There was like a crazy high return rate. I don't know what it was, but I think it's because it is a disappointing product. And I don't think people would have been as disappointed by the results if it wasn't like $500.

Speaker 2:
[36:59] Yeah, it's very expensive. Yes, I understand. That's a price point for a, that's a premium price.

Speaker 4:
[37:06] Premium price for a whatever product. Not a great return.

Speaker 2:
[37:10] Okay, my first one is, sorry, Abby, it's, well, it's natural deodorant, but it's specifically, well, it's all of them. Okay, I've tried all of them. I've tried them all. I tried.

Speaker 4:
[37:20] You have weird pits though, Abby.

Speaker 2:
[37:21] I know, that's why every single one, I get an allergic reaction to. And this is a bad story. You ready for this one? I did an ad for wild deodorant. What did you say? I'm coming clean.

Speaker 4:
[37:31] I love wild.

Speaker 2:
[37:31] But I actually stand by it, because I emailed them, I said, hey, I actually have a lot of allergic reactions to natural deodorant, so I'm probably going to pass. And they go, we have a sensitive line. So they sent me the sensitive line. I used it and I did not break out. So I put the refill in, I was using it. I did my ad, it was great. I ran through the sensitive one and I put in the next sensitive one. Yeah, immediately my armpits blew up.

Speaker 4:
[37:54] You need to figure out your allergies.

Speaker 2:
[37:56] Ever since then, I haven't been able to use their deodorant. But it was Them, Primally Pure, Tom's, Love Beauty Planet. I mean, I've tried like at least a year.

Speaker 4:
[38:06] I feel like you're not alone. I feel like a lot of people dislike natural deodorants, but here's my argument. I feel like yours is different because you're having an allergic reaction. You can't really like say-

Speaker 2:
[38:14] I don't know what it is.

Speaker 4:
[38:14] But your armpits do need an adjustment period. If you're used to like antiperspirants, for example, like you have to like-

Speaker 2:
[38:23] You're gonna sweat.

Speaker 4:
[38:24] You're gonna sweat for a while. Your body will regulate, and then same with odor. Like it will- You do need- There's a period of time.

Speaker 2:
[38:30] Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 4:
[38:30] But then I feel like you also- Your body will adjust, and I think it's kind of worth it. Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[38:34] Yeah. I just can't tolerate it.

Speaker 4:
[38:36] You just can't tolerate it. Dang it. Well, you're not alone on that one. I do love wild deodorant. Okay. I have to preface this one by saying, I love Supergoop sunscreen.

Speaker 2:
[38:47] I have it in my purse right now.

Speaker 4:
[38:48] I love it. Love it. What I'm not sold on and was actually kind of disappointed by was their tinted sunscreens.

Speaker 2:
[38:54] Oh, interesting.

Speaker 4:
[38:55] Yeah. They don't, you rub it in and it disappears. It doesn't do anything for the tinting aspect doesn't do anything. So don't buy it for that reason. If you're hoping to have like a like a little coverage, a little color, it doesn't do it.

Speaker 2:
[39:09] Can I actually say I don't understand tinted sunscreens at all? I have some and I'm like, what do you mean? I'm going to put this tinted sunscreen on and then put makeup on top of it. And then do I reapply my tinted sunscreens?

Speaker 4:
[39:20] No. What?

Speaker 2:
[39:21] Right. I'm confused.

Speaker 4:
[39:22] No, I think the point is just if you're not going to wear makeup, you could wear that. Like if you're not wearing makeup, like at the pool and you want like a little glow.

Speaker 2:
[39:30] Oh, okay. I misunderstood the product.

Speaker 4:
[39:31] I don't think you're supposed to put makeup on top of it.

Speaker 2:
[39:33] Okay. So yeah, I was doing it wrong. Okay. I'm gonna try it.

Speaker 4:
[39:36] Wait, you put sunscreen on and then makeup and then sunscreen on top of it again?

Speaker 2:
[39:39] Well, I was like, it's tinted. Like it's like a cream for my face. Like a foundation. Yeah.

Speaker 7:
[39:46] So you're not supposed to put makeup on top of it.

Speaker 2:
[39:47] Okay. So you know what?

Speaker 7:
[39:48] It's supposed to be your makeup.

Speaker 2:
[39:49] Okay. But then my hands were tinted. And then I'm like, you're just telling me you're going to the pool and you're wearing, you've got like tinted hands.

Speaker 4:
[39:55] Wash your hands. It's not supposed to stain your hands.

Speaker 2:
[39:57] But you're outside of the pool.

Speaker 7:
[39:59] No, put it on in the morning.

Speaker 4:
[39:59] I just don't get it.

Speaker 7:
[40:02] Like put it on in the morning.

Speaker 4:
[40:04] You're goofy.

Speaker 2:
[40:05] I just don't get it.

Speaker 7:
[40:06] That one, don't put it in your bath. Put that one on your kitchen.

Speaker 4:
[40:09] Put it on your bathroom counter.

Speaker 7:
[40:12] The tinted one.

Speaker 2:
[40:13] I'm just not gonna use it.

Speaker 4:
[40:14] Don't do it. Don't use it, Abby. It's not for you.

Speaker 2:
[40:17] Okay, my next one. I have the Wall-E phone case. Let me show you.

Speaker 4:
[40:21] Don't say you don't like that.

Speaker 2:
[40:22] No, no, no. I love my Wall-E phone case. I got the magnetic case because I was like, oh, I have this, which I actually like because I take it off. I could put this on my stuff. Like my tripod. I used to have the, it's not the Ollipop. What's it called? Like you stick to the back of your phone.

Speaker 4:
[40:38] Octo buddy.

Speaker 2:
[40:38] The Octo buddy. That's good. So I love my Octo buddy.

Speaker 4:
[40:44] People are clicking off.

Speaker 2:
[40:48] This girl should nod at the microphone. Okay. The Octo buddy is amazing. So I got the Wallopop, which is their magnetic version. That was the longest wheeze I've ever had.

Speaker 6:
[41:11] The more pregnant I get, the more I'm gonna wheeze.

Speaker 2:
[41:15] You gotta dig a hole. I just don't need an explanation. Anyway, the Wally Pop sticks to nothing. It sticks to nothing, okay? Don't buy the Wally Pop.

Speaker 5:
[41:29] The Wally Pops?

Speaker 4:
[41:32] You're getting so niche.

Speaker 2:
[41:39] I know, no one's fine, no one's fine.

Speaker 5:
[41:40] That's except for you.

Speaker 4:
[41:48] All these names are so similar.

Speaker 2:
[41:53] I'm sorry.

Speaker 8:
[41:56] Oh my gosh.

Speaker 4:
[41:57] I'm not okay.

Speaker 1:
[41:59] I did not know that's what it was called.

Speaker 2:
[42:02] That's why you keep calling it an ollie pop on accident.

Speaker 3:
[42:04] I didn't know why, I didn't know why.

Speaker 4:
[42:06] Now I get it. Oh, I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2:
[42:09] Sorry, everybody. We can skip this one, it's dumb. Just don't buy the wally pop, it doesn't stick to anything. Just get the regular phone case.

Speaker 4:
[42:21] That's all I have for flops, I couldn't think of anything else. I feel like I'm generally pleased with my product.

Speaker 2:
[42:25] Yeah, okay, my other one was the dime, I love dime as a whole general, but their skincare doesn't work for my face, that's all. So that's all.

Speaker 4:
[42:33] Okay, let's go on to our personal favorites. I feel like naturally let's stick with the beauty category. We'll do beauty and style.

Speaker 2:
[42:41] Mine is, okay, I have very, very, very, oh, we brought a show and tell. We're show and telling for the people that couldn't see. Is that a pot of gold?

Speaker 5:
[42:56] That's so dumb.

Speaker 2:
[42:59] That was such a dumb joke. Oh my gosh, we're never gonna get through this.

Speaker 4:
[43:05] We're never gonna finish this. I don't think we can recover from this.

Speaker 2:
[43:10] Okay.

Speaker 4:
[43:11] Josh, dang it.

Speaker 2:
[43:13] All right, here we go. My favorite beauty product is the Versed Serum Concealer. If you have very dry under eyes, this is not going nowhere. It's not like a cakey, but it's very light. It doesn't get into my creases. And it's really good.

Speaker 3:
[43:28] Next.

Speaker 4:
[43:30] I don't want it to get into my creases.

Speaker 2:
[43:31] You can get it from Target. Okay, skincare. Do you have any show and tell things for your skincare?

Speaker 4:
[43:39] Good old basic CeraVe.

Speaker 2:
[43:41] Oh, that's classic.

Speaker 4:
[43:42] You guys, but this kind. Don't get the hydrating one. Get the oil control one. This one is recommended by dermatologists. Like everyone, this doesn't clog your pores. It actually gets your skin clean.

Speaker 2:
[43:51] Wow.

Speaker 4:
[43:52] And I have used this since I was in college.

Speaker 2:
[43:56] Wow.

Speaker 4:
[43:56] But I also have another one.

Speaker 2:
[43:58] Yeah.

Speaker 4:
[43:59] This one's a new favorite.

Speaker 2:
[44:01] Oh, Vacation. Their packaging is so cute.

Speaker 4:
[44:03] And Abby, this is a sunscreen. You can't mess up for your face. Really? You literally spray it on top. But I'll do it right now. That's cool. I love this because I need to reapply face sunscreen. But if I... I got it on my hand. It smells really good. But SPF 15, like if I have my face all done, then I'm like, I don't want to rub in more sunscreen on my face.

Speaker 2:
[44:26] Right.

Speaker 4:
[44:26] But this you just spray on top.

Speaker 2:
[44:28] That's a genius product. And in your hairline. I always...

Speaker 4:
[44:30] Oh, that's smart.

Speaker 2:
[44:31] I always get burned on my scalp, so I always put sunscreen in my hairline, and it's literally just like white cream in my hair. That'd be perfect for that.

Speaker 4:
[44:38] I love this stuff.

Speaker 2:
[44:39] And your ears and stuff that are hard to get. Wow. OK, I might have to get that.

Speaker 4:
[44:42] You really should. You can get it at CVS.

Speaker 2:
[44:44] OK, clutch. My skincare product is... Actually, Everything and Anything Merit skincare is unbelievable. I love their Instant Glow Serum. I love their moisturizer. I repurchased those probably four times myself. But this is a new product that blew me away. It's the Great Skin Double Cleanse Face Wash. It's a foaming... Look how much I've used. It's a foaming face wash.

Speaker 4:
[45:06] Ooh, I love a foaming one.

Speaker 2:
[45:07] It's so good. I've actually never had a face wash, so I actually took my makeup off in one go. I do this over my sink. It's really foamy. It's really light. Gets everything off. I use white towels after. No marks for my makeup. I've never had that. Like it's fully off my face. My skin is clean. Actually, I learned something from watching your videos. I used to never... I used to always avoid my eyes with my cleanser because in the Neutrogena commercials growing up with the celebrities, they would always go around their eyes. So I would always have to take my eye makeup off separately with Vaseline. And yeah, I started using it on my eyes. It helps a lot actually.

Speaker 4:
[45:43] Wait, my videos?

Speaker 2:
[45:45] What? No, the Neutrogena ads. Do you remember those? Oh yeah, your videos, when you like take your makeup off with your balm and you put over your eyes. I was like, you could put cleanser on your eyes.

Speaker 4:
[45:54] Oh yeah, I'm an old lady that likes cold cream. So do you, what makes it double cleansing though?

Speaker 2:
[46:00] It has an oil in a...

Speaker 4:
[46:02] Oh. But do you still wash it face-to-face?

Speaker 2:
[46:04] So you have to shake it before it separates. And you have to shake it up before. No, you use it once. Shake well, apply three to four pumps. I don't know what it is, to be honest, but it has, it separates. That's all I can say about it. And you have to mix it up. So it has a whatever.

Speaker 4:
[46:20] It has a whatever. Next category, fragrance. For this one, I actually ran out of mine because I love it so much and it was really sad to part with. But this is kind of niche. I don't feel like people talk about this one, but the Molecule O2 fragrance.

Speaker 2:
[46:37] Oh, I don't know.

Speaker 4:
[46:38] I'm gonna buy another one. You guys can all smell it. But it is a fragrance that I would love to one day try to find a way to recreate. Because, and like with a slightly more feminine version, it is such a clean, kind of musky scent. And it just, it's so hard to find this smell. Because I feel like a lot of musky ones kind of go to like a woody scent. And I'm like, I don't, that feels a little too masculine. This one feels like clean and like musky though. And I just, I can't really describe scents very well, but this, you can get it on Amazon and I'm going to repurchase. It's a little pricey.

Speaker 2:
[47:12] Oh, I feel like you like romantic scents.

Speaker 4:
[47:16] I'm a romantic person.

Speaker 2:
[47:17] I know. Yes. That makes sense. Like a little musky, it's like that's kind of a romantic.

Speaker 4:
[47:21] Yeah. I like rose. I feel like that's like a, like it's kind of like, you don't hear a lot of rose scented things anymore either. Kind of feel like an old lady for liking it.

Speaker 2:
[47:29] Yeah, I like rose. Yeah. I love that. My fragrance, I do have it for Shantel. Looking for my pot of gold.

Speaker 4:
[47:36] You have pants in there? In that pot? I brought everything.

Speaker 2:
[47:42] Okay. You can see, I need to re-stock it. It's the Dime Seven Summers perfume.

Speaker 4:
[47:46] Oh, I have that one.

Speaker 2:
[47:47] I know you do. I actually got it. I came here for Griffin's gender reveal and you had the Dime perfume.

Speaker 4:
[47:51] Oh, it brings me back to that time of our-

Speaker 2:
[47:53] Yes. I've used it since then, since 2022. And I just keep repurchasing it. I love that it's clean so that when I'm spraying it, I don't, like CJ or Vivian aren't gonna have reactions to it. It's light. I love this smell specifically. I love vanilla and it's like really warm and just, it's just a good classic smell that I think smells good on everybody. And yeah, I just will never not buy this. I love it. And it's like $37 or something.

Speaker 4:
[48:17] It's really affordable. Fragrances are really expensive and I actually have kind of learned why. It's, what goes into them is very expensive.

Speaker 2:
[48:24] I believe it. Yeah. I know. This one you do have to reapply often. It's not like the most long-lasting scent, I will say, but it smells incredible.

Speaker 4:
[48:32] Oh, the molecule lasts even through a wash, you guys.

Speaker 2:
[48:36] Wow.

Speaker 4:
[48:36] Now, I don't think it's clean.

Speaker 2:
[48:38] No.

Speaker 4:
[48:39] But it lasts through a wash.

Speaker 2:
[48:41] That's how the Merit perfume, the retrospect, I love it. But it's like one spritz. It could be too much. But it's clean and it's long-lasting.

Speaker 4:
[48:47] Oh, that's good.

Speaker 2:
[48:47] It's really good, yeah.

Speaker 4:
[48:49] For fashion, I actually ordered another one and it was on my front door.

Speaker 2:
[48:53] I was unboxing on the podcast. Wow, I love that.

Speaker 4:
[48:56] Let's be real, I'm not very fashionable right now. I feel like I'm just comfy, what's easy. And I've been really loving the comfort matching sets.

Speaker 2:
[49:04] They're so good.

Speaker 4:
[49:06] Guess who I got on these as well.

Speaker 2:
[49:07] Me.

Speaker 4:
[49:08] Okay, you and who else? Val. Val's gotten a couple too. But like, oh these. That pink is cute. You might show my undies.

Speaker 2:
[49:18] Oh, I don't think so.

Speaker 4:
[49:19] No biggie, honestly. You have the pink one, I have the green one. But like, I'm telling you, if you're pregnant or postpartum, and you want to just be able to still wear them, like you want to feel put together. Okay, here's the truth about it. You can wear pajamas if they're completely matching, and you put on a pair of shoes.

Speaker 2:
[49:40] Yeah, it's a makeup.

Speaker 4:
[49:42] Yeah, maybe do something.

Speaker 2:
[49:43] Want your hair or your makeup, we got to do one of them.

Speaker 4:
[49:45] I don't know if this is actually maybe might be marketed as a pajama set.

Speaker 2:
[49:49] Oh really? I didn't know that.

Speaker 4:
[49:50] I don't know. I don't care. I'm wearing it out. I wear it to the zoo. I wear it everywhere.

Speaker 2:
[49:55] No, I love those.

Speaker 4:
[49:56] Super comfortable. They have so many colors.

Speaker 2:
[49:58] Yeah.

Speaker 4:
[49:59] And patterns as well.

Speaker 7:
[50:00] I love it.

Speaker 2:
[50:00] You got me the pants set for Christmas, and I love it.

Speaker 4:
[50:02] Oh, I also have a more dressy option.

Speaker 7:
[50:04] Oh, I know.

Speaker 4:
[50:06] I have a more dressy option from Quince. They have these cotton cashmere, so it must be like a blend. Yeah. Ribbed dresses. And I just got the, I think it's like a cocoa, like a dark brown one.

Speaker 2:
[50:20] The tank top I wore on last episode.

Speaker 4:
[50:21] That same color. Yes. You can get these dresses. And so if you're pregnant, it will definitely stretch. They're so comfortable, very high quality. And how often do you see cashmere for under $100?

Speaker 2:
[50:31] I know.

Speaker 4:
[50:32] And it would be great for like all seasons. You could wear it for fall, dress it up, like with a sweater or a jacket on top, or now, like I'm gonna wear it all summer. Heck yeah, baby. I think that is a great wardrobe staple.

Speaker 2:
[50:43] Yeah, I would agree. Okay, my... Well, let me button them.

Speaker 4:
[50:47] Abby's drawers are out.

Speaker 2:
[50:50] Hold on a moment. Let me zip them. All right, let's do a little ASMR.

Speaker 4:
[50:55] That's special.

Speaker 2:
[50:56] Okay, these are the Abercrombie Curve Love loose shorts. I actually think these are the dad shorts, but I think they might be discontinuing the dad short and transferred it to the loose. I could be wrong, but both of them, I have the loose and I have the dad and I'm obsessed. I need the Curve Love because I do have a small waist and big hips, like a big booty.

Speaker 4:
[51:16] Oh, poor you.

Speaker 2:
[51:19] And they're the only ones that like really do, they don't gap in the back. So they're really comfortable. They're the perfect length. I feel like they're fun to dress up or dress down. And it's the perfect, this is the medium wash. I have them in medium and black. I just feel like you can dress them up or down really easily. Just a good classic. It's the first pair of denim jeans I've had since I was 14 years old.

Speaker 4:
[51:39] The first pair you've had?

Speaker 2:
[51:40] Because I've just never liked the length on me.

Speaker 4:
[51:41] They're so hard to find.

Speaker 2:
[51:42] They're so hard to find. And I love the length because it goes past the wide part of my thigh, which I don't want them to be so short that it like, I don't know, it just feels too short if it's past that. Do you know what I mean? It's the perfect length. I know, I love them. I love them, I love them, I love them.

Speaker 4:
[51:55] That's a really good find because I feel like denim shorts are just...

Speaker 2:
[51:58] I know and they're on sale all the time. They're so good.

Speaker 4:
[52:01] I love Abercrombie. For accessories, I did my Truly Blessed Jewels necklace stack because I actually don't feel like I want to spend my time accessorizing. It's just not on my list of priorities on the day to day. But I love that these are permanent and they're awesome local business. Well, they're in Scottsdale. But and I just like think that they have really high quality materials that you can personalize. And so I have like all my kids like little charms on this one. I love this little pearl one. That's the Kaia Pearl Choker. And this this one has all my kids' birthstones and Matt's birthstone.

Speaker 2:
[52:38] Oh, which one?

Speaker 4:
[52:40] My top one.

Speaker 2:
[52:40] Oh, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4:
[52:41] It seemed to have gotten a little tangle.

Speaker 2:
[52:44] But I love that you don't have to think about it.

Speaker 4:
[52:46] So it has Matt, Griffin and Augie's birthstones.

Speaker 2:
[52:47] Cute. So pretty.

Speaker 4:
[52:49] Yeah, I really can't recommend them enough. I think that's an amazing honestly with May coming up. Amazing Mother's Day treat for your mom, for your husband to give you. Like it's just quality, simple, beautiful pieces that will last.

Speaker 2:
[53:02] And obsessed.

Speaker 4:
[53:04] And they're a small business. So yeah, I love that.

Speaker 2:
[53:06] Yeah, I love my chain bracelet from them or matching ones. The Addy cut off for her cruise.

Speaker 7:
[53:10] I cut off for my cruise so I can go down the water slide.

Speaker 2:
[53:14] Treason.

Speaker 7:
[53:16] We're gonna just have to go get new ones.

Speaker 2:
[53:17] It's for the memory, though. It was for the memory. My favorite accessory. This is a little bit of a pricey one, but it truly is my favorite right now. It's my new bag. It's the Erin Coach shoulder bag. It's the perfect size. I have this thing stuffed because it's currently in my diaper bag, but it has three pockets. Maybe we'll do a what's in my bag in a few episodes, but it has two magnetic pockets on the outside and then a zipper pocket in the middle, and it's a shoulder strap bag. So I like that things feel secure. I have a Vivi pocket, a Mommy pocket, and a CJ pocket. Oh, yeah. I love it. Actually, it all kind of bleeds into mine, but it's okay.

Speaker 4:
[53:55] Order.

Speaker 2:
[53:55] It's such a beautiful bag. And for it to be leather, I think it's around 250, which is a good, I mean, it's expensive.

Speaker 4:
[54:00] I thought you were going to say it was way more, because those designer bags get crazy.

Speaker 2:
[54:03] I know. It's from the outlet store. They still have it. It's the Erin shoulder bag. It's like the perfect bag.

Speaker 4:
[54:07] I like the color too, a lot.

Speaker 2:
[54:08] Thanks. I know. I wanted a brown. Okay.

Speaker 4:
[54:10] Moving on to our next category. It's home and lifestyle. What's your favorite home item?

Speaker 2:
[54:16] Okay. This is going to sound really bougie at me. I will say I got sent these items in our house, but I feel like every time I look at them, I'm like, those are so beautiful and so perfect. It's our curtains. They're all from Two Pages. They're the custom curtains. They're just pleated. They're pressed pleat. They stay in place. They're really thick, heavy-duty, beautiful fabric. And I just feel like our house is small, so the touches that we can make that feel special and custom make a big impact in our house. And I just look at them in the rooms, and I'm like, wow, those are so special. So if you can budget and save for them and get custom curtains, I go room by room, it transforms your space. And we got them from Two Pages, and I love them.

Speaker 4:
[54:54] I purchased them on my own dime.

Speaker 2:
[54:55] I know.

Speaker 4:
[54:56] And I have the curtains and blinds.

Speaker 2:
[54:58] And would you say it's worth it?

Speaker 4:
[54:59] They're worth it for me in the fact that they were very user-friendly to order from.

Speaker 2:
[55:02] Yes, they are.

Speaker 4:
[55:02] Because I'm like, I don't know the first thing about blinds, so I needed a lot of help. And so, yes, I would definitely say that. Okay, this one is also kind of frivolous, but I said our Roborock. It's a like electric vacuum mop. And I hate cleaning floors. Like I just, I just hate it so much. And so we just run this thing every night. It is so smart, this little robot. It goes around our dog. Like it's really like, oh dog, turn around. Like it, like it mops our heart. It gets up on rugs and will then switch gears and then clean the, like vacuum the rug.

Speaker 2:
[55:39] Whoa, that's cool.

Speaker 4:
[55:40] Yeah, it's pretty high tech.

Speaker 2:
[55:42] How often do you have to empty it?

Speaker 4:
[55:43] It empties itself. It goes back to its little dog.

Speaker 2:
[55:46] What, that's sick.

Speaker 4:
[55:47] It goes back to its little dog. It's like refueling and then like does it like, going home and then it goes back. So it does it all throughout the night. And to be honest, I don't know about like the changing the water because that's a matte job.

Speaker 2:
[55:59] Sure.

Speaker 4:
[55:59] I can't even know.

Speaker 2:
[56:00] That's all right. It's a blue job.

Speaker 4:
[56:02] And it doesn't seem to be too time consuming because I don't really ever notice him doing it.

Speaker 2:
[56:06] Yeah. Okay. Well, that's exciting. The Roborock Vacuum.

Speaker 4:
[56:09] They have several, but that's the brand that we have. They have like different varying degrees.

Speaker 2:
[56:14] Okay. Very cool. My favorite kitchen gadget is the Silicone KitchenAid Bowl Enter that you gave me, that your mom got you for Christmas.

Speaker 4:
[56:23] She got me three. So I had one.

Speaker 2:
[56:26] I love this thing.

Speaker 4:
[56:27] I'm so glad.

Speaker 2:
[56:27] Let me take my items out of it.

Speaker 7:
[56:29] That's what that is?

Speaker 2:
[56:30] That's what this is.

Speaker 4:
[56:30] It goes in your stand mixer.

Speaker 2:
[56:32] Yes. And it's like a cover. So if I make cookie dough, because a lot of times I'll try chicken and then I'll be like, Oh, I have to clean my bowl and then go make my cookie dough. Like it's, it's just an extra step. So this thing you can just pop out and, or I'll make my cookie dough in it. And then I pull this out, store my cookie dough. It has a lid.

Speaker 4:
[56:49] I have a third one. You want it? The red one?

Speaker 2:
[56:51] It's so nice. And you could put it in the dishwasher. And yeah, I don't ever, like I can keep my cookie dough in the bowl and still have my stick mixer.

Speaker 4:
[56:59] And it comes with a lid.

Speaker 2:
[57:00] It has a lid. Yeah. I love it. I use it all the time. When you gave it to me, I was like, I don't know if I use that. I use it weekly.

Speaker 4:
[57:05] I'm so glad to hear that.

Speaker 2:
[57:06] Yeah.

Speaker 4:
[57:07] Thank you, Lori.

Speaker 2:
[57:08] Thank you, Lori, for your find.

Speaker 4:
[57:09] My kitchen gadget is my hard boiled egg maker. I mean, I can't stop, I can't stop with that thing. I use it every single morning. I'm eating three hard boiled eggs. Did it today, did it yesterday. I'm doing it tomorrow. I have to think that this thing was made in Korea.

Speaker 2:
[57:29] They do like soft-boiled eggs. I know.

Speaker 4:
[57:30] I just feel like they have the gadgets that are just so high tech and smart and cute.

Speaker 2:
[57:37] Yeah. They do it all.

Speaker 4:
[57:38] It's my little dash egg maker.

Speaker 2:
[57:40] I love it.

Speaker 4:
[57:40] It might be time to replace it. It is breaking, but it still works.

Speaker 2:
[57:43] I don't think I could tell you the last time I had a hard-boiled egg.

Speaker 7:
[57:45] It's only $20.

Speaker 4:
[57:46] It's literally $19.99, I believe.

Speaker 2:
[57:49] Was that under your best purchase?

Speaker 4:
[57:50] No, I had a different one for that. But let me tell you, I love it. So I guess if you don't care about hard-boiled eggs, then forget about this one.

Speaker 2:
[57:57] Sure. Okay, I will forget about it. Thank you.

Speaker 4:
[58:00] How do you eat your eggs scrambled?

Speaker 2:
[58:02] Yeah, I do.

Speaker 4:
[58:03] That's normal. I don't know why I'm like this. Okay, this one is my go-to. I need to feel like myself again, routine. I kept it light. My favorite Bondi stand is Tanning Moose. That'll really lift your spirits. That's good. If you need to just be shocked back into reality, nothing will make me feel hotter. It doesn't even matter if I apply it right. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if it's the right color. It just matters that it's on.

Speaker 2:
[58:24] Totally.

Speaker 4:
[58:25] It just matters that I did it.

Speaker 2:
[58:26] Just get it on your body.

Speaker 4:
[58:27] And that makes me feel... And it's from Amazon. It's actually a lesser... There's so many different self tanners on the market.

Speaker 2:
[58:32] Kind of expensive.

Speaker 4:
[58:33] This one is not expensive.

Speaker 2:
[58:35] The Bondi Boost one?

Speaker 4:
[58:36] It's under $30. There's Bondi Sands. Bondi Sands? You can also get it at Target of Blue.

Speaker 2:
[58:42] Okay. Well, we need an Aussie to chime in if it's Bondi or Bondi.

Speaker 7:
[58:45] It's $33.

Speaker 4:
[58:46] $33?

Speaker 2:
[58:47] Okay, yeah.

Speaker 7:
[58:47] With a mitt.

Speaker 4:
[58:49] Oh, with a mitt. I don't even buy it with a mitt.

Speaker 2:
[58:52] So... Without the mitt, it's $29.

Speaker 4:
[58:53] $29.

Speaker 2:
[58:54] Oh, okay. Great deal.

Speaker 4:
[58:56] It lasts a while, too.

Speaker 2:
[58:57] Yeah. You get a couple of tans out of it. Okay, then I would say...

Speaker 4:
[59:00] I get about 30 tans out of it. Like, it lasts a while.

Speaker 2:
[59:03] Oh, why did I think a bottle only got one tan? Did it used to be like that?

Speaker 4:
[59:07] No. No, you get like 20 to 30.

Speaker 2:
[59:11] I have been poorly mistaken my entire life.

Speaker 4:
[59:13] How much are you using?

Speaker 2:
[59:14] No, I've never used it.

Speaker 7:
[59:14] Is that why you're like, why are all these people self-tanning?

Speaker 2:
[59:16] Yeah, I've never used self-tan. I was like, man, that's an expensive... A 30 bucks for one tan is like a little...

Speaker 7:
[59:21] Yeah, I know.

Speaker 4:
[59:22] At that point, get a spray tan from an artist.

Speaker 2:
[59:24] That's why I've been confused my last 15 years. Let me clarify. Probably everyone knew this but me. I've just never self-tanned, so I just...

Speaker 4:
[59:33] Yeah, well, you're tanned, so...

Speaker 2:
[59:34] Well, I tan my face. I'll say that. But you guys don't like the Isle of Paradise drops. I love them for my face.

Speaker 4:
[59:38] I don't dislike them. I just like using my mousse because it matches my body.

Speaker 2:
[59:41] Your body, better. Okay, perfect. Our favorite date night activity. Recently, when I say recently, I mean around Thanksgiving.

Speaker 4:
[59:48] Caleb and I, we have not been on a date.

Speaker 2:
[59:49] We've been on a date in a while. We went to the movies. And a good old fashioned movie date night is the best.

Speaker 4:
[59:55] We do that all the time, yeah.

Speaker 2:
[59:56] It's just so fun. We went and saw Wicked 2, and Caleb was really excited to see Wicked 2, which was kind of sweet. It's just so memorable. We went to dinner before, saw a movie, and it was just classic.

Speaker 4:
[60:07] Get back to the classic. That's why-

Speaker 7:
[60:08] I'm really texting Blake, we should go on a movie night date.

Speaker 4:
[60:11] Well, we've been trying to see Project Hail Mary.

Speaker 2:
[60:14] I think Caleb would love that movie.

Speaker 4:
[60:15] I wanna see it so bad, but it's just so hard to get it on the calendar and make it happen.

Speaker 2:
[60:19] I've heard such good reviews on that movie.

Speaker 4:
[60:21] I read the whole book for the purpose of watching this movie, and the book was a lot for me to get through.

Speaker 2:
[60:26] Yes.

Speaker 4:
[60:26] It was educational, honestly.

Speaker 2:
[60:28] I'm already talking about it with the boys.

Speaker 7:
[60:29] I would watch it, but I just don't think that's my style of movie, even though it's very well done.

Speaker 2:
[60:35] It seems like a guy movie, but maybe that's why we go for a date.

Speaker 7:
[60:38] Yeah, exactly. Bring the husband's.

Speaker 4:
[60:39] I like guy movies better, actually. Quote unquote guy movies.

Speaker 2:
[60:44] Just one of the guys.

Speaker 4:
[60:45] Not at all. I just don't necessarily like romance. Totally. I mean, is this even a question? Cheesecake Factory, our favorite day and night. And bonus points if we go to Barnes & Noble afterwards, which we started that tradition. And Matt will take me to Barnes & Noble afterwards and pick out a book for me to read, which a lot of people wouldn't like. I love being. I love assigned reading. And I do read every single one. The one he's get like that I'm reading right now, he gave me. And I'm like, Matt, crushed every time he goes, I just ask the employees what's good.

Speaker 2:
[61:16] Oh, my God, that's sweet.

Speaker 4:
[61:17] So we just go and browse and I pick out a book.

Speaker 2:
[61:19] That's sweet.

Speaker 4:
[61:20] It's really a fun time.

Speaker 2:
[61:21] That is a fun time.

Speaker 4:
[61:22] And most cheesecake factories are by a Barnes & Noble.

Speaker 2:
[61:26] I feel like they are. That's why it works out. That's a really fun little date. Go-to gift for anyone. Do you have one for this? Need to be said, a hydro-dug.

Speaker 4:
[61:37] No one's going to be sad about this. Guys, girls, everyone wants a new cup.

Speaker 7:
[61:41] That's a good answer.

Speaker 2:
[61:42] Put a little Swig gift card in there. We're actually doing that for a friend, for her birthday.

Speaker 4:
[61:46] I didn't know you cared about Swig.

Speaker 2:
[61:47] No, I don't. My friend does. Yeah, so we got her a cup and then a little gift card. Yeah, so if you want to do a little combo thing, you can go in there.

Speaker 4:
[61:55] You can never have enough. As much as people want to tell you it's over consumption, it is.

Speaker 2:
[61:59] You got to wash them. What do you get a drink out of?

Speaker 4:
[62:02] When they're in the washing machine, dishwasher.

Speaker 2:
[62:04] You got to rotate them suckers. You got to rotate them suckers. I learned the hard way. Mold. Mold. Okay, my go-to gift for anyone is the volcano candle from Anthropologie.

Speaker 4:
[62:15] Oh, good one.

Speaker 2:
[62:16] And even if people don't like to burn candles, they have so many beautiful jars. Yeah, and their candles are just gorgeous. And they have different sizes, so different price points. But that is a gift that everyone loves.

Speaker 4:
[62:27] Literally, we got one from our real estate agent. Real estate agent? Realtor.

Speaker 7:
[62:31] Realtor.

Speaker 4:
[62:32] Realtor. And we will never burn it because I'm like, this is very special. It's set aside.

Speaker 2:
[62:40] It is such a special candle. It's such a good gift.

Speaker 4:
[62:43] Okay, now we're moving on to food and drink category, which is very exciting because I've been eating a lot of food, drink a lot of drinks. Coffee order. I'm so sorry. This is so basic, but it's just what I like. Okay. Every single morning, I wake up excited about my double shot of espresso, half-caf.

Speaker 2:
[62:57] What's a half-caf?

Speaker 4:
[62:58] It's literally like they put half the beans of caffeinated decaf.

Speaker 2:
[63:05] Cool.

Speaker 4:
[63:06] Well, because I like two shots, but I don't want to have that much caffeine.

Speaker 2:
[63:09] Right. You need the depth in your cup of coffee. I need the volume. Right. We need the volume, not the depth.

Speaker 4:
[63:15] Sugar-free vanilla syrup, splash of milk, splash of vanilla creamer. Recently, I've been doing way less milk and creamer. I just really want it to taste like coffee. And lots of ice, obscene amount of ice. It's just been so good.

Speaker 2:
[63:28] Good. See, I'm kind of similar, but I'm a hot coffee girl. And every morning I wake up and I have two shots of espresso, Lungo.

Speaker 4:
[63:36] Oh, the long shot.

Speaker 2:
[63:37] Yeah, the long shot. Is that what it means? I just thought it was Lungo.

Speaker 4:
[63:40] Oh, no, I think that's what it is.

Speaker 2:
[63:41] Long shot. Yeah. Lungo. Sorry. And then whole milk. And that's it. And sometimes I like a latte, and sometimes I like a cappuccino.

Speaker 7:
[63:50] You have no flavor in there.

Speaker 2:
[63:51] No flavors.

Speaker 7:
[63:52] Wow.

Speaker 2:
[63:52] Yeah. I just love the taste of coffee. Sorry, Genzy.

Speaker 7:
[63:56] I like it.

Speaker 2:
[63:57] I know they don't like the taste of coffee. They just love the milk. Do you notice that when you watch people make their coffees? I'm like, that's a lot. You're just having a glass of milk.

Speaker 4:
[64:05] Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[64:07] Yeah. And some caramel in there.

Speaker 7:
[64:09] And some caramel.

Speaker 4:
[64:09] Well, okay. My first coffee of the day, I like it to have some flavor. My second coffee, if I have one, I'll just have it.

Speaker 2:
[64:15] Give it to me straight. This is business. It's not pleasure, right?

Speaker 4:
[64:17] No, it's pleasure.

Speaker 2:
[64:18] I know. I love the taste. I love the taste of coffee.

Speaker 4:
[64:21] This one, next category is hyper fixation meal. Recently, it's just been anything my husband can grill. I don't want the mess in the house. I'm like, Matt, you just go take that to the grill. I'll prep it and make a couple of sides. It just makes my night so much easier.

Speaker 2:
[64:34] Yeah. We love that. We need the ease. When I was pregnant, I didn't want to touch any meat. So if there was meat in the meal, Caleb had to make it. So I get that.

Speaker 4:
[64:39] Chicken, salmon, steak. I honestly have brought up the idea of pork chops a couple of times. He doesn't seem excited about it, but I would love a pork chop.

Speaker 2:
[64:47] I'm not thrilled about a pork chop.

Speaker 7:
[64:49] Have you had a good pork chop?

Speaker 2:
[64:50] I have, yeah. I have.

Speaker 1:
[64:52] Just personal preference.

Speaker 4:
[64:53] I like pork chops.

Speaker 2:
[64:55] You know what burnt me out on pork was hella fresh. I was like, stop sending me pork.

Speaker 4:
[65:00] Oh, you could probably request that. Not there.

Speaker 2:
[65:02] I know. I didn't know I could change it.

Speaker 4:
[65:03] Oh, dang it.

Speaker 2:
[65:04] Okay. My hyper fixation meal is, this is a breakfast that I've been really into. It's from Trader Joe's specifically. They're Trader Joe's brand Greek yogurt with honey. It's like the creamiest texture, almost like ice cream. It's so good. And it's so with honey. And then they have this trail mix. It's the almond cashews and chocolate trail mix. And they come in the individual pack. So it's like already pre-portioned. You just dump it in there. They're so good. And you top with some strawberries. This is a very sweet, sweet breakfast. And that's how I like it.

Speaker 4:
[65:34] Great.

Speaker 2:
[65:35] And I'm full for a long time. Good. It's very satiating.

Speaker 4:
[65:38] Good.

Speaker 2:
[65:38] It's so good.

Speaker 4:
[65:40] Breakfast is the easiest meal to get hyper fixated on. That is a really good point.

Speaker 2:
[65:43] Is it needed to just be easy?

Speaker 4:
[65:45] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[65:45] Yeah. When I was pregnant, it was protein pancakes.

Speaker 7:
[65:48] Every morning, protein pancakes. Well, right now, it's two eggs and two pieces of chicken sausage.

Speaker 4:
[65:53] Great.

Speaker 2:
[65:54] When growing up from sixth grade to senior year of high school, I had two cinnamon egg and waffles just slightly, just slightly toasted.

Speaker 4:
[66:02] Floppy.

Speaker 2:
[66:02] Yeah. I needed a floppy so I didn't make a mess on the bus. Wrapped in a paper towel out the door.

Speaker 7:
[66:08] Yes. Wrapped in a paper towel.

Speaker 2:
[66:09] Yeah. Out the door.

Speaker 4:
[66:11] Comfort food that never fails, soft pretzels.

Speaker 2:
[66:14] Oh, you're right.

Speaker 4:
[66:15] They're so comforting.

Speaker 2:
[66:16] They're so good.

Speaker 7:
[66:17] The ones that Abby makes?

Speaker 4:
[66:18] I'm going to make them again.

Speaker 7:
[66:19] Please.

Speaker 4:
[66:20] I'll make them on Sunday.

Speaker 2:
[66:21] I think we ask every podcast episode, I feel like, please do this.

Speaker 7:
[66:23] Easter?

Speaker 4:
[66:24] Yeah, sure. Appetizer.

Speaker 2:
[66:26] Yes. With the cheese dip.

Speaker 7:
[66:28] You write every single episode, we're like, please make us food.

Speaker 2:
[66:31] Please make the pretzels. I love them.

Speaker 4:
[66:33] They never fail. They never fail.

Speaker 7:
[66:35] But she does.

Speaker 2:
[66:35] Every time she asks.

Speaker 4:
[66:36] I'll make them.

Speaker 2:
[66:37] Such a giver.

Speaker 4:
[66:38] I love it when people, that's my highest form of love, is people requesting specific foods that they know that I make. It's very niche, but it really makes me feel loved.

Speaker 2:
[66:45] Oh, okay. I'll keep saying it then.

Speaker 4:
[66:47] Please place all requests here. It makes me feel so known.

Speaker 2:
[66:52] Your talent. My comfort food is pot roast, which you know I love. Oh yeah, for sure. I love pot roast.

Speaker 4:
[66:58] Can't get better than that.

Speaker 2:
[66:59] Pot roast or short rib? Bring it on.

Speaker 4:
[67:01] Do you make short ribs?

Speaker 2:
[67:02] No, never have, but I buy it. At the store, like restaurants. If I go out, if there's a short rib on the menu, that's what I'm ordering.

Speaker 4:
[67:08] I made them one time and it really overwhelmed me. I was like, I can't mess this up. This was so expensive.

Speaker 2:
[67:13] Yeah, no, I've never made them myself.

Speaker 4:
[67:15] So much bones.

Speaker 2:
[67:16] Oh really?

Speaker 4:
[67:17] I mean, it's ribs.

Speaker 2:
[67:19] Sure. I've never actually thought about what it is. It's ribs. Okay.

Speaker 4:
[67:25] There's a bone in every one.

Speaker 2:
[67:26] Well, I'm still going to eat it.

Speaker 4:
[67:28] Yeah, they're good.

Speaker 2:
[67:29] Yeah, they're so good.

Speaker 4:
[67:30] Sweet treat. How are you going to say anything other than Trader Joe's ice cream sandwiches?

Speaker 2:
[67:33] The sublime. Sublime.

Speaker 4:
[67:36] The sublime variety is so good. Delicious. I can't explain it. If you don't live next to Trader Joe's, I know you're paying for 23 years of my life.

Speaker 2:
[67:44] I didn't live next to Trader Joe's and it's a burden that you just have to carry. But the rest of us can enjoy the sublime.

Speaker 4:
[67:50] My burden is that they're not on Instacart.

Speaker 2:
[67:53] That is so annoying, but honestly, it is a fun experience going to Trader Joe's.

Speaker 4:
[67:56] It is such an experience. And every time I go, I have to get like five boxes of these because I don't know when I'm going to be back and I go through them so fast.

Speaker 2:
[68:03] I know. Only four in a box is criminal, but it keeps us coming back. My sweet treat is a Rice Krispie. And you know what I was thinking about this since high school, when I started to realize that I had free will, I would buy two of the large Rice Krispie treats every day at lunch, and I'd put one of my backpack for later and one I'd eat at lunch. I was addicted.

Speaker 4:
[68:21] I loved your eating habit.

Speaker 2:
[68:23] I have so many I could talk about.

Speaker 4:
[68:24] Now talk about the hot dog one right now.

Speaker 2:
[68:28] When I was in middle school, I went through a crazy growth spurt. I ate seven hot dogs with a bun at my friend's pool party, and her parents were stunned.

Speaker 7:
[68:38] Were you trying to set a record?

Speaker 2:
[68:39] No, I was just starving. And I was like, yeah, I'll eat more than the guys. I ate seven hot dogs with buns, and every time I'd go to her house after that, her parents would buy me my own pack. And I was like, I'm probably not going to eat that many again. I'm done growing. I'm done.

Speaker 4:
[68:52] I'm just going to have one please.

Speaker 2:
[68:53] Just one. I've never been to the ladies.

Speaker 1:
[68:56] Give me seven.

Speaker 4:
[68:58] Seven hot dogs. Seven buns. No condiments.

Speaker 2:
[69:02] No condiments. Just no dog and bun.

Speaker 4:
[69:07] That is absolutely crazy.

Speaker 2:
[69:09] I thought they were surprised. I was like, wow, we didn't buy enough. You know what I mean? They're probably freaking out.

Speaker 7:
[69:14] Yeah, you ate everyone's dogs.

Speaker 2:
[69:15] Ate all the dogs.

Speaker 4:
[69:17] Ate all the dogs.

Speaker 2:
[69:19] I just ate so much.

Speaker 4:
[69:20] You're like, Abby's coming. Hurry, ladies.

Speaker 2:
[69:21] Please, now.

Speaker 7:
[69:23] Abby, you're going last.

Speaker 4:
[69:25] Oh, man, honestly, that just makes my love for you even deeper.

Speaker 2:
[69:28] That's so sweet.

Speaker 4:
[69:30] Okay, we are now rolling in to whoever's still here.

Speaker 2:
[69:34] We still have a lot more.

Speaker 4:
[69:36] Should we cut this? Kids and family category. How are you going to say anything other than magnetiles for kids' products?

Speaker 2:
[69:42] Magnetiles, that's what I put. Perfect. Nuff said.

Speaker 4:
[69:45] Nuff said, you got to have them. Let's go deep with the magnetiles.

Speaker 2:
[69:49] I agree.

Speaker 4:
[69:49] Baby product.

Speaker 2:
[69:50] Newton Baby Breathable Mattress. Yeah, that's giving me the most peace of mind as a mom. Both my babies are like face fully in the mattress sleepers, and they can breathe.

Speaker 4:
[69:59] That's great. I said the Dreamland Sleep Sack.

Speaker 2:
[70:01] Those are great too.

Speaker 4:
[70:02] In fact, I had a couple of conversations with Augie. Augie is approaching three, and I'm like, hey, what do you think about not going with a sleep sack tonight?

Speaker 2:
[70:11] What about a blanket?

Speaker 4:
[70:11] He's like, no, sleep sack! He loves it. He just feels so safe in it.

Speaker 2:
[70:16] Yeah, they should make a transition product, like a blanket or something for older kids.

Speaker 4:
[70:21] Yeah, I don't know. He loves it so much.

Speaker 2:
[70:23] Yeah, that's a good idea. Okay, it's time buying taller activity.

Speaker 4:
[70:27] Mine's kind of weird.

Speaker 2:
[70:28] What is it?

Speaker 4:
[70:28] I think the Amazon kids' knives.

Speaker 2:
[70:32] Oh, the kids' knives.

Speaker 4:
[70:33] Yeah, the kids' knives. Any fruit or vegetable that you're gonna be using, anything you need to cut in your recipe that you can safely give to a kid to try to cut with those knives while you're cooking or say, for instance, I just keep some celery in my fridge forever. If I'm like, I really need to cook, but I can't really give any of these tasks to them because it involves heat or sharp things. I literally just let them sit there and cut celery. They will do it for so long, so diligently cutting celery. And I think it's great for their motor skills. And that knife set is so cheap and we get so much use out of it. And it could really... My kids don't color, but they will cut with knives. They will cut. They also like scissors. Those like kid scissors. So I think that was a good activity.

Speaker 2:
[71:16] That's a great one. Mine is... CJ loves going in the backyard with the hose and washing his cars.

Speaker 4:
[71:22] That's a good idea.

Speaker 2:
[71:23] He loves it. And like our backyard's safe, so I could just open up the windows and it's all baby proof back there. Turn the hose on. And I don't care if he gets wet. He usually comes back not with his clothes on. He's taking him out. He's getting some sun. He's outside getting fresh air and he's washing all his toys.

Speaker 4:
[71:36] My kids aren't usually in clothes.

Speaker 2:
[71:38] Yeah, he needs clothes.

Speaker 7:
[71:40] I did look up because I was curious about the Dreamland baby. They have one that's for walkers. So you put their feet in it. So, like, Augie still has one that's like fully over.

Speaker 4:
[71:49] He has a bag. He walks in it.

Speaker 7:
[71:52] All right. Yeah. But this one has like, Oh, wow. Actual. Oh, my God.

Speaker 4:
[71:58] He can't even fully extend his legs in it. And I'm like, Hey, buddy, let's get rid of it. He's like, no, he literally just curls up in it. Like a little baby.

Speaker 2:
[72:05] That's sweet.

Speaker 4:
[72:05] I'm gonna get the walker one. That's genius.

Speaker 7:
[72:08] Okay.

Speaker 4:
[72:08] Actually, Dreamland did a April Fool's Day joke last year that I fully fell for.

Speaker 2:
[72:15] What was it?

Speaker 7:
[72:15] The adult ones.

Speaker 4:
[72:16] Genius marketing, except they weren't actually selling it, probably, but it got a lot of attention. They said they were making adult Dreamlands and everyone was so excited, including your girl.

Speaker 2:
[72:24] And then they didn't get them. They didn't make them.

Speaker 4:
[72:26] They were like, April Fools.

Speaker 2:
[72:27] And you're like, wait a minute. I'm actually, I know today's the day. Stay off Instagram, please. I can't with all these companies making jokes.

Speaker 4:
[72:33] Oh, companies are doing it today.

Speaker 2:
[72:34] I mean, they're always like, we're closed. I remember when we were closing Bolt.

Speaker 4:
[72:39] This is sad.

Speaker 2:
[72:40] It was all the, you know, I was like, oh my gosh, all these small businesses are also closing. It was, I felt validating for a second. I'm like, the market's hard. And then it was all like April Fool's. We're crushing it. I had to stay off the line.

Speaker 4:
[72:54] Dang it. Good for you.

Speaker 2:
[72:56] Entertainment media slash music. What you got?

Speaker 4:
[72:58] What you got? Guess. Justin Bieber.

Speaker 2:
[73:02] How, baby, you know. I'm not a woman that switches up her music. Listen, Justin Bieber has been the soundtrack to my life. I was thinking about this. I remember where I was the first time I heard one time. I was at a volleyball tournament in the lobby of Incarnate Ward High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Changed my life that day. I remember where I was when I first heard, baby.

Speaker 6:
[73:26] Where were you?

Speaker 2:
[73:27] I'm sorry. Not baby. Sorry. I wrote this down. My world came out when I was 8th grade, freshman year soundtrack of my young adult, my young child life. My world, first concert, big concert that I'm ever going to. When I listened to the Believe album, Baby. No, I was baby. I was in my kitchen, sitting on my parents' stools, and Sophie and I were laughing because they kept saying, swag, swag, swag on you. And then it would be loved the song. Purpose came out my freshman year of college. Should I keep going? Changes came out right after we got married. Swag. I was pregnant with Vivian. It's a soundtrack of my life. And I'm never going to stop.

Speaker 7:
[74:09] Did you have to look back at when those came out, or that was just at the top of your brain?

Speaker 2:
[74:13] No, I did look back to confirm what was at the top of my brain.

Speaker 7:
[74:15] Okay.

Speaker 2:
[74:15] So both. Both. Yes, and.

Speaker 4:
[74:18] Wow.

Speaker 2:
[74:19] Yeah, it's all right.

Speaker 4:
[74:20] I'm taking a hard right now. Because this category was entertainment, media, music.

Speaker 6:
[74:28] Okay.

Speaker 2:
[74:30] What?

Speaker 4:
[74:30] I just said Audible. Like the audio books. Mine was Audible. And so Audible is I've been going on a lot of walks. I'm on public rest, so I can't work out. So I just go on walks. And I feel like I prefer to read a book. But listening to books, I have started to transition. And I like it.

Speaker 2:
[74:53] You like it?

Speaker 4:
[74:54] Yeah, I do like it. I've read two books on audio.

Speaker 2:
[74:58] Every time I tried to listen to a book, I haven't liked the voice that's really in it.

Speaker 4:
[75:01] The same lady does basically pretty much all of them. I don't know how she's got the time.

Speaker 2:
[75:06] She's paid probably good amount. Well, that's great, Abby.

Speaker 4:
[75:10] Sorry, I don't listen to music.

Speaker 2:
[75:11] No, that was a good one.

Speaker 4:
[75:13] OK, favorite book slash movie?

Speaker 2:
[75:15] The Nightingale.

Speaker 4:
[75:16] Oh, yeah.

Speaker 2:
[75:17] I read that recently.

Speaker 4:
[75:17] My friend Curly gave it to me.

Speaker 2:
[75:19] Yeah, that's a gut wrenching book, but it's an incredible read. My friend Curly recommended it and I love it.

Speaker 4:
[75:26] It's a good one. I just did a recent favorite, which was Broken Country, because I haven't talked about it on this podcast yet. But a lot of people were talking about it. Broken Country. It's like a deeply emotional book. A lot happens. It's not a very long book, but like so much happens. And it's one of those. I'm like, I will remember this. It was a good one.

Speaker 2:
[75:46] Yeah. What do you have for a movie?

Speaker 4:
[75:49] I didn't put a movie.

Speaker 2:
[75:49] Oh, OK.

Speaker 4:
[75:50] I thought it was book slash movie. What's your movie?

Speaker 2:
[75:54] She's the Man.

Speaker 4:
[75:55] Of course.

Speaker 2:
[75:56] Of course it is.

Speaker 4:
[75:57] I watched that with you for the first time.

Speaker 2:
[75:59] You did?

Speaker 4:
[75:59] Yeah. I think I was postpartum with Griffin.

Speaker 2:
[76:00] Oh my gosh.

Speaker 7:
[76:01] That's a good movie.

Speaker 2:
[76:02] Such a good movie. When I was pregnant with CJ Giving Birth, I kept chanting in my head during labor, who's going to bring that blood and pain? Who's going to? I couldn't remember where it came from. And then I watched She's the Man, and it's their chant and their soccer huddle. I was like, why am I chanting She's the Man?

Speaker 4:
[76:17] Our brother experiences were so different.

Speaker 2:
[76:20] It's so stupid I did that.

Speaker 4:
[76:22] Who was your comfort creator, Abby?

Speaker 2:
[76:24] Okay, I have two. One for YouTube is Caroline Winkler. I love her YouTube videos. She does a lot of interior design, and she just bought her and her husband, or fiance just got a like a really old school, really beautiful apartment, and she's been decorating it, and it's so fun to watch. She's hilarious. And I just love her videos. She's very creative, very funny, very entertaining. And then on Instagram, Maddie Nelson. I followed her for such a long time. And her family is so sweet. They're in Texas. She has all including Boutique. I just love following her.

Speaker 4:
[76:53] So the only thing I really like try to scroll on is YouTube. And this is kind of niche, you guys, but I think she deserves a shout out because I literally go to YouTube shorts every day to catch up on her shorts because she's posts like three a day. Her name is Gloria. She does not maybe want all this attention. She just has such a tight and protective of this community.

Speaker 2:
[77:14] Oh, what is this?

Speaker 4:
[77:16] No, she's just a special ed teacher, but she also makes content of her making her coffee in the morning, and she makes sweet treats, and she's just so cute. I think her personality is so cute. Yeah, her name is Gloria. Her tag is Glow Yo-Yo. I always show them at her videos. And when I think of a comfort creator, it's this sweet girl. She actually has a lot of subscribers. She has 53k subscribers. Oh yeah, she's doing it. She makes shorts.

Speaker 2:
[77:49] She only does shorts.

Speaker 4:
[77:51] Yeah.

Speaker 2:
[77:51] Fun.

Speaker 4:
[77:52] Anyway, she makes her coffee and she makes sweet treats, but mostly I just love her personality. Sometimes she'll record what she brings for lunch to school where she teaches, and she's on spring break with her mom right now. Sweet.

Speaker 2:
[78:05] They went to Denver.

Speaker 4:
[78:07] She's just really cute. And I just think her personality is just so joyful. And she loves sumo oranges and espresso. So she likes her espresso to match the color of her hair and it's really dark. So she likes it dark. She loves tiramisu. I mean, I just love her content. And she's cute. And she has two dogs. Cute.

Speaker 2:
[78:23] I've never heard of her. I wanted to follow her.

Speaker 4:
[78:24] Gloria. Okay. Shopping favorites slash rapid fire.

Speaker 2:
[78:29] Okay.

Speaker 4:
[78:30] I feel like my brain just stopped for a second.

Speaker 2:
[78:31] I skipped a lot of these.

Speaker 4:
[78:33] This is probably my most passionate one.

Speaker 2:
[78:36] Okay. Do it. I can do it.

Speaker 4:
[78:37] This whole category.

Speaker 2:
[78:38] Okay. My favorite find under $20.

Speaker 4:
[78:40] Favorite find under $20. Go.

Speaker 2:
[78:41] It's this light. It's the Alex Earl light.

Speaker 4:
[78:43] Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:
[78:44] This thing is really good.

Speaker 4:
[78:45] I need to get that.

Speaker 2:
[78:46] It just clips onto the back of your phone and it gets really bright. I'm not going to turn it on, but I keep it in my purse. And even if you're just, I feel like if I was in college, I would have loved this because you're always out at night with your friends and you want to get pictures taken and the lighting is always terrible. And no offense, but the iPhone cameras nowadays are trash. They're really bad.

Speaker 4:
[79:01] I feel like they've only gotten better, Abby.

Speaker 2:
[79:04] I just don't like it. I don't like it. And so also my light sensors are broken. So that's probably why. But I love this light.

Speaker 4:
[79:10] That's a good one.

Speaker 2:
[79:11] Yeah. It ranges from $12 to $30 on Amazon.

Speaker 4:
[79:15] Mine is the unbrush.

Speaker 2:
[79:17] I almost brought mine. You influenced me.

Speaker 4:
[79:19] I should have cleaned that out. But that brush will really detangle your hair. It won't tug on it. You can use it when your hair is wet. Love that thing.

Speaker 2:
[79:27] It's really good. You influenced me and I did get that.

Speaker 4:
[79:29] Thank you. I got it from my My Favorite Things party two years ago.

Speaker 2:
[79:32] My I Buy This Over and Over item.

Speaker 4:
[79:35] Gotta be Ilia Skin Tint.

Speaker 2:
[79:36] It's so good.

Speaker 4:
[79:37] I have probably purchased 50 of these. I've used it exclusively. I don't really wear foundation. I just use this because I think it has amazing coverage. It has SPF 40 in it. And it goes on super natural on the skin. You don't really even have to match your skin color that good. It will blend. And it has skincare in it. It's just, it won't clog your pores. It's clean.

Speaker 2:
[79:58] I just can't say enough. It's the Ilia Skin Tint. And I think we actually wear the same color. Number seven, Diaz.

Speaker 4:
[80:05] No, I wear Bom Bom.

Speaker 2:
[80:06] Oh, okay. One time you got Diaz and I was like...

Speaker 4:
[80:08] Too dark for me.

Speaker 2:
[80:09] It was too dark for you. Okay. Then I'll keep using Diaz. I'm forever Bom Bom.

Speaker 6:
[80:13] Bom Bom.

Speaker 8:
[80:17] Bom Bom.

Speaker 4:
[80:21] Next, I cheated on this one. It's my favorite thing I bought this year. I bought it last year, but you know what? I, Gosh, it's my favorite. Last year and this year, my Espresso Maker. It was a splurge purchase. I have a Jura Espresso Maker. And I'm telling you when I wake up excited every morning, I'm not kidding. I'm so excited. And I'm so excited to make coffee for other people too. It's just, I'm like, you want a coffee? Please, please. No, seriously. Let me, allow me to make you a coffee. And I said, when I got that, I was like, I'm not gonna get coffee out. And I don't ever even feel tempted because I actually enjoy my coffee from home more. Love it.

Speaker 2:
[80:55] I love it. My favorite thing that I bought this year, linen shorts I bought for Caleb. I'm sorry, but the man's wearing shorts from 2012. So it was time.

Speaker 4:
[81:04] And underwear, I mean.

Speaker 2:
[81:05] Yeah, all the things. Caleb still wears his Cardinals World Series shirt from 2009. It's in great condition. Hang dry.

Speaker 4:
[81:12] Hang dry, baby. Your favorite thing is a thing you bought for your husband?

Speaker 2:
[81:18] Listen, I'm going off the spot right now.

Speaker 4:
[81:24] Linen shorts from where?

Speaker 2:
[81:25] I bought them yesterday from an old Navy.

Speaker 7:
[81:28] Yesterday?

Speaker 4:
[81:30] That was so weird.

Speaker 2:
[81:31] I can't remember. This was one that stumped me because I just started getting back into purchasing things. And there are a lot of things that tickle me because it just feels good to buy things.

Speaker 4:
[81:39] It's tickling to buy your husband linen shorts.

Speaker 2:
[81:43] I got it from an old Navy. I actually bought them Abercrombie ones twice. It's a whole thing. I'm not going to get into it. I love the Abercrombie ones, but I just sat them on the old Navy ones.

Speaker 4:
[81:50] They're pretty short.

Speaker 2:
[81:51] No, it's not that. It's a whole thing.

Speaker 4:
[81:53] Okay, I'll ask you off camera. Yeah, if I care to know.

Speaker 2:
[81:58] You can know it. It just doesn't, they don't care. The people don't care.

Speaker 4:
[82:01] My go-to athletic brand, Hoka's. Hoka's are great.

Speaker 2:
[82:04] I love Hoka's.

Speaker 4:
[82:05] Did I mess up by doing shoes?

Speaker 2:
[82:07] No, that's great. Mine's at Lululemon. I worked there. I got bought in and I'll never buy out. The quality is unbelievable. I still wear my stuff from high school. You just gotta hang dry it. Classic quality. It can't be beat. And I always ask for gift cards and things on my birthday and holidays, and it's just like the big... I just love it.

Speaker 4:
[82:26] I love it.

Speaker 2:
[82:26] I love it.

Speaker 4:
[82:27] So many competitors out there.

Speaker 2:
[82:28] I know. And they don't compare.

Speaker 4:
[82:31] For Miscellaneous, I said my AirPods Max, which this is one of those things where I was like, this cannot be worth it, which I actually do feel like you could probably find some good dupes. But it was a gift for Christmas that we got partially from my mother, my in-laws, partially from my grandma, and we also chipped in. So it was a pop. And I got these headphones and I wear them on my walks. I wear them when I'm doing chores and I actually really like them. But I also have very particular ears. I don't like earbuds. But these are for sure the best headphones. I really do think that.

Speaker 2:
[83:07] I've heard good things.

Speaker 4:
[83:09] Yeah, I really like them. I wish I didn't. I do think you could find a dupe, but gosh, there's so it's a it's a special gift.

Speaker 2:
[83:15] Yeah, that's a good one.

Speaker 4:
[83:16] They get a lot of wear out of.

Speaker 2:
[83:17] My miscellaneous tech is the Wall-E case. It's a great phone case.

Speaker 4:
[83:20] Wall-E, great.

Speaker 2:
[83:21] Yeah, put your ID in there, your driver's license, one credit card, and you're out the door. It's perfect.

Speaker 4:
[83:25] Wow. Are you guys sick of hearing from us? Let's hear from you. Moving on to voice mail.

Speaker 7:
[83:30] Yay.

Speaker 2:
[83:32] Ask, ask, ask Abby.

Speaker 6:
[83:36] Hey, Abby. It's Paulina. I have a two and a half year old, and we just started potty training her. And I was wondering if you have any tips or tricks on potty training your boys. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, guys. Bye.

Speaker 2:
[83:56] Okay, Abby, take it away.

Speaker 4:
[83:58] I have the worst advice, but I think it's the best advice.

Speaker 2:
[84:01] Let's hear it.

Speaker 4:
[84:02] Just wait until they are literally ready. And I know that people think this is a big scheme by the diaper companies. But literally our experience, maybe we just got lucky. I will say that was so seamless with my oldest. I literally was one day like, hey, do you want to wear underwear and go to the bathroom on the toilet instead? He was like, yeah. So we did. I will say going like a day, if you stay home with them, go a day where they're just naked, because sometimes they're just so used to just doing it whenever they have to go. Like they need to feel like, oh, they can start and then be like, oh, nope, this isn't the same. And then literally, he just started using the toilet. But I also waited until he was three. And I do think that the thought of doing it with my two and a half year old, he's getting close, but I'm still like, he just needs to wait till he's three. But every kid is different. I don't think it needs to be this big stressful thing is all I'm saying. I'm like, you can wait, diapers are great and work fine. And then just start the conversation a lot. Even with Augie now, when I change his diaper all the time, I'm like, you know, one day we're going to get rid of these diapers, you're going to wear underwear. Pick out really fun underwear for them. Like we talk about what kind of underwear he'd want to wear, what he wants on them. And we just talk about it a lot. And then, yeah, just wait, just push it off. But that's also just maybe if you have a special reason, like preschools, they do require that in certain daycares. Yeah, I would just say, stay home for like, plan to stay home for like three days and just leave him naked. And then every time and also be very kind when there's an accident. I feel like this goes without saying, but there's like a whole category of trauma related to body training for people and specifically like bedwetting. But like every time someone has an accident, now that I've been peeing my pants, I bring it up all the time with the kids and they're like, everyone makes mistakes. We're still learning. We say that all the time, like with with if we have an accident or like, oh, everyone makes mistakes. We're still learning. And so just like be very great, like to get mad at your kid for that seems really crazy. But just talk about it in a really positive, calm way. No big deal.

Speaker 2:
[86:07] Yeah. Love that. It's great advice.

Speaker 6:
[86:09] Hi, my name is Emily and I absolutely love your podcast. I listen to it every week and just look forward to some awesome girl time with lots of laughs. My question for you guys is how do you deal with comparison or envy when it comes to your friendships with other women? Thanks so much.

Speaker 2:
[86:30] It's a great question. Thanks for listening, Emily. It's really sweet. I actually feel like my biggest issue with comparison is to myself, which is a look back at pictures from the past and it made me sad. Like, oh, I looked so many things were going on then. Look how fun we were having. I feel like myself to myself is sometimes harder. I remember distinctly when I had my clothing business, there was one girl in particular that we had started at the same time. We were like, I just felt like I was in competition with her because we were around the same time, sold a lot of the same things. And I remember feeling really bitter sometimes about her success because she had really great months that she would talk about and I'd be struggling at different times. And I remember just really feeling like, hey, I have to pray for that girl. Like, instead of being jealous and feeling that, I started to pray for her success. And that was kind of like a switch in my heart that I needed of like, it's not actually, we're not in competition. I actually can hope for her best and that's good. Like, there's enough room for all of us. And I feel like it kind of took the attention away from the feelings of bitterness and jealousy and envy. And I didn't switch to like, I actually want the best for her. So.

Speaker 4:
[87:45] That's good advice.

Speaker 2:
[87:46] Yeah, that's all I got, honestly.

Speaker 7:
[87:48] I think she was also mentioning specifically in like friendships.

Speaker 2:
[87:51] Oh, I guess the mindset, like I think we could look at our friendship and be like, we're in similar fields of work, like in different levels of success. And I would say I've never felt like jealous or anything. I think I've always just been like really proud of you. So with your friends, it's, I think it's taking the mindset of like, oh, look how much they have or what they've done. And I don't have that. I think it's more so just being like, wow, like that's amazing that you've accomplished that. And use that more of, try to reframe your mind and turn that into motivation and like excitement for your friend. Then maybe like, oh, I'm not good enough or, you know, instead of turning it into a negative for yourself, you can just be happy for your other people.

Speaker 4:
[88:26] Yeah, that's great.

Speaker 8:
[88:27] Hi girls, a fellow Midwestern here. I'm calling just to ask about how have you girls, I know you have some in-laws or family, close family members who live outside of the state. How do you guys have your kids keep up with them? What are some fun ways that you include in-laws or parents that might live out of the state just in your kid's life, whether that be FaceTimes or other creative ways to include them just in your kid's life? Thanks so much. Bye.

Speaker 2:
[89:05] That's a good one.

Speaker 4:
[89:05] I think FaceTime is obviously great. It's easy to fall out of that routine. I feel like sometimes having a set time for that is probably the best way to do it. Yeah. That's kind of a basic one. I think there's a lot of really cute ways that we, like we for them, give them the digital picture frames. And I feel like they just get sent straight to their frames. They can see videos and pictures of the kids in real time, sending pictures a lot. Also, we should do this. There's books where you can record the grandparent reading a book. So then every night, you could just play the audio book. They can push the button and it's them reading that page. And I think that's a great way to include them. You can also do yodo characters or yodo cards of the grandparent's reading one. But I also think just including them in everyday conversations, we talk all the time about them. We're like, grandma and papa. And at night, we always say what we're grateful for. And we just bring them up a lot, our whole family. And so it's just a part of our conversation all the time. And that's something you as the parent can do a lot with the kids. So then when they see them, it's like they're picking right back up. We talk about things that we've done. They're like, oh, remember that time that we went and we just explain things like Grandma and Papa's house and talk about it a lot.

Speaker 2:
[90:22] Yeah, it's really good. Totally. I have nothing to add. I think that's great. Awesome. Well, that was fun.

Speaker 4:
[90:27] You guys, if you also would like to call in, which also we're so grateful when you do call in and we love hearing from you. And it's such an honor. The number is 602-456-9690. We'll also put it in the show notes. Recipes we can link. Do we still want to do this?

Speaker 2:
[90:43] Yeah, I can just say a quick one. Mine's the Jennifer Aniston salad. It doesn't have meat in it, so it keeps really good. You can add like rotisserie chicken. It's a quinoa salad. It has veggies. It takes no time to prepare. And it's just a really good lunch or side option. My friend Kendall got me on to it, and I've had it a lot in the last three years. It's just a go-to. Go with chips. It's good.

Speaker 4:
[91:05] I forgot what my recipe is now. I remember it. This is specific if you have a bread maker, but I have a like honey wheat bread recipe. You literally throw all the ingredients in order. It's very important that you put them in order in your bread maker, and then you literally just set the bread maker on it. It'll mix, knead, let it rise, and bake it all in there. And it's this honey wheat bread, and it's delicious. And I've made it since Matt and I got, before we got married.

Speaker 2:
[91:29] So I remember you making that in your first apartment.

Speaker 4:
[91:32] It's filling bread, and put some peanut butter on it. Oh gosh, glass of milk. It's delicious.

Speaker 2:
[91:37] Yum. Well, amazing, you guys. Thank you so much for listening. Speaker 2:
[92:55] I'm waiting for the catch.

Speaker 4:
[92:56] Maybe there's no catch.

Speaker 1:
[92:57] That's exactly what a catch would want me to think.

Speaker 2:
[93:00] Wow, you need to relax.

Speaker 1:
[93:02] I need a knock on wood.

Speaker 5:
[93:02] Do we have wood? Is this table wood?

Speaker 2:
